Hello everyone, a quick Buhou Mianzi slash shameless message to make it official, I'm looking for more gigs. Don't worry, the Middle Earth podcast is still going strong for 2025. Our next episode will be about how feminist content and stories are growing in popularity in China, and I think that's one of the best episodes we ever recorded.

Yet, after six years doing the Middle-earth podcast and three years being my own boss between Beijing and Paris, I will admit that now things are a bit more complicated in terms of finding projects to work on and just pay the bill. If the Chinese economy is contracting from what my peers in the US, Europe and Singapore are telling me, the state of the film and TV industry is not getting better. Well,

It's not like the world we live in is getting better anyway. As we offered you this show for free for many years, also thanks to the support of the world of Chinese magazine, I was simply wondering if any of you dear listeners are in need to hire the most reliable freelancer you will ever meet. Or even better, maybe you are one of the CEO of Hollywood's six-man studio or an AI company that focus on content or film distribution company and you have a full-time position that you think I should send my CV to.

that could work as well. Joke aside, I will keep produce this podcast as long as I can. Maybe one day the format will change or we'll expand the scope in terms of topics. But right now, one of my main concern is to secure more paid work. So if by chance you are in need of someone who has experience in being a podcast expert, researching documentaries, doing film editing, translate subtitle, being a freelance producer, doing PR, giving you notes on your script, I would happily send you a quote.

I've even recently started diving into the mysterious world of film subsidies, cash rebate and tax break. This way I'm starting to help Asian indie films trying to get European money.

But if you don't have any of those needs, that's totally okay. Just connecting on LinkedIn just to get to know who are the thousands of people tuning in to the Middle-Earth Podcast would already be a huge morale boost and to know who you guys are. I'm sure all podcasters would agree on that. Doing a show can be a bit lonely sometimes as we don't get to have comments and likes as the YouTubers do. Anyway, thank you for your time. Wishing you all in advance a happy new year and I hope that everything you guys are fighting for will happen to you as well. All that Santa Claus is going to bring it to your doorstep. A la prochaine. See you next time. Bye-bye.
