Staying up late can lead to increased excitement and restlessness, making it difficult to fall asleep. The autonomic nervous system, which should be in a rest state, is forced to continue working due to an erratic biological clock, causing confusion and disruption.
The body scan helps to address deep-seated fatigue and anxiety, awakening the brain to the body's true experiences and needs. It aims to rebuild a smooth connection between the brain and body, promoting peace and relaxation for both.
Before starting the meditation, it is recommended to set the podcast to play until the end of the episode, adjust the volume to a comfortable level, sprinkle 'Wild Dreamless' sleep essential oil around the bed, and wear an eye mask. Ensure the bedroom temperature, scent, volume, and lighting are comfortable.
The meditation guide advises not to force oneself to follow every instruction or to be harsh if one gets distracted or feels drowsy. The focus is on enjoying the process and allowing oneself to drift into sleep naturally.
