In this episode, we welcome Donny Dust to the show. He has a reputation for being a “professional caveman”. He is an expert survivalist, primitive skills expert, and retired United States Marine. He owns and operates Paleo Tracks Survival, Colorado’s premier survival and wilderness self-reliance school, and has nearly two decades worth of outdoor survival and primitive living experience. He has also written three books: Earthroamer, Scavenger, and Wild Wisdom. He was a contestant on Alone Season 6 - Arctic and was a co-host on the reality show Mud, Sweat, and Beards. In this interview, we discuss why he joined the United States Marine Corps, the difference between combat and non-combat veterans, his thoughts on the current state of the military, why he thinks he was just a tool of the “military industrial complex” while serving in Iraq, his thoughts on God and Jesus, why he still feels like he is on a faith journey, how a heart attack in his late 30s led to him completely reevaluating his life, why he decided to become a survivalist expert, a situation that almost took his life last summer in Utah, a story that he’s never shared publicly before, why creativity is our #1 survival skill, the most basic survival skills that we should all have, what all of us should keep in our vehicles and on our person at all times, and much more. Let’s get into it…
