Iran is trying to create a crisis so they can unite an unhappy populace behind and unpopular regime and force the EU to trade with them. Which the US has said means being cut off from our markets.
It's a jingo play. They know we won't wipe them out. So take a few hits and claim the, "Great Satan" is attacking.
