I've been reading 'Atomic Habits' by James Clear over the past few weeks and even though I'm only halfway through it's already blowing my mind. I've always been focused on setting goals and sometimes I'm successful and other times not. What I'm finding out from 'Atomic Habits' is that the goal really isn’t the biggest payoff of this process. That’s the one we typically focus on, but the real reward is by challenging who we think we are. When we go through this process and change our worldview, change our identity and become something more than we ever thought we could. that’s the real reward.
