Founded in 2007 by Arab cultural activists, the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture – AFAC stands as an independent entity dedicated to empowering individual artists, writers, researchers, intellectuals, and organizations across the Arab region in various arts and culture fields. With its headquarters in Beirut, AFAC extends its support globally, fostering creativity in cinema, photography, visual and performing arts, literature, music, documentary filmmaking, and beyond, while also investing in research, training and cultural events. Rima Mismar is the Executive Director of AFAC and has been at the forefront of cultural philanthropy, steering AFAC's efforts to support the arts and culture landscape across the Arab world. Under her leadership, AFAC has become a beacon of hope and resilience, advocating for artistic freedom, innovation, and collaboration amidst the challenges faced by the cultural sector.
