The Sooners were 2-2 after a tough loss to Texas. But, Head Coach Barry Switzer would rally the Sooners as OU won 5 straight and were playing great football.

Heading into a showdown with #3 Nebraksa in Lincoln, the Sooner were a win away from another Big 8 title and a possible trip to the Orange Bowl.
