Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi, Thrasher, and special guest Mitch Hallock of The IndyCast) discuss the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles TV series. Originally airing on ABC then later popping up on The Family Channel, this series didn't get a complete airing of all its episodes until a trio of boxsets on DVD packed to the gills with a zillion educational documentaries.
Originally aired with wraparound segments featuring an old Indiana Jones wearing an eye patch, creator George Lucas re-edited the shows into features for the later VHS and DVD releases. Old Indy was nowhere to be seen. Filmed around the world featuring Indiana Jones as either a young boy or a young man, this ambitious show juggled genres, characters, and any sense of a linear chronology in its original airing order. Part edutainment, part action, part romance, and part oddity, this series takes some getting used to but has some real winners in the mix.
