One of the few movies directed by Jack Nicholson, The Two Jakes is another neo noir that fails to live up to the lofty heights of its predecessor Chinatown. Originally, this was meant to be the second of a Jake Gittes trilogy. For whatever reason, the third film was never made and Nicholson is a bit too old to play the part nowadays.
