Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi and William Thrasher discuss Terminator Salvation. The Resistance led by John Connor (Christian Bale) struggle in their fight against Skynet's superior cybernetic organisms. Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington) joins John Connor to rescue his future father Kyle Reese (Anton Yelchin).
Terminator Salvation ignores anything cool about the future war sequences in the first two films in favor of a more modern look stripped of colors. Many of the performances are also stripped of life with characters speaking platitudes in gruff monotone cadences. An assault near the end at a T-800 factor starts to feel more like a Terminator movie, but it's not enough to save this movie so far into the film.
Thrasher likes the high energy of both Shazam and Aquaman. Mat enjoys retro 1960s animated homage Batman vs. Two-Face, but feels the story lacks the creativity of the earlier direct to video feature Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders.
