Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi and William Thrasher discuss Superman 4: The Quest for Peace to round out their look at the Christopher Reeve Superman films. Frustrated by humanity's refusal to rid the world of atomic weapons, Superman (Christopher Reeve) decides to take care of the problem himself. A side effect of chucking nuclear missiles into the sun is the creation of Nuclear Man (Mark Pillow). Meanwhile, Clark Kent (Christopher Reeve) pursues a relationship with Lacy Warfield (Mariel Hemingway). Can our hero stop Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman) from creating an army of evil Nuclear Men?
Mat enjoys David Thorpe's documentary Do I Sound Gay? but finds it too scattershot in its overall theme. He also wraps up Season 1 of Star Trek Discovery and finds its final scene to be too cute for its own good.
Thrasher enjoys the brief Netflix series The Toys That Made Us on such popular action figure lines as He-Man, Barbie, and the like; turns out it's getting a second season. He also watches the legendary gorefest Bloodfeast directed by Herschell Gordon Lewis.
