Based on the second book in the long running Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets feels too much like a retread of the original. There's a suspicious professor, fantasy beasties, and precocious kids. Perhaps the biggest slog of the whole series, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets feels like it's on an exercise bike pedaling into the infinity of nothingness. Kenneth Branagh has some fun comedic moments, but one wishes Tim Curry would have been cast instead.
