Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi, Thrasher, and Alex Miller discuss An American Tail: The Treasure of Manhattan Island; this is the third film in the series and the first of two direct-to-video entries. A mouse helps find a treasure in Manhattan Island, but other mice have less than proper ideas as to its use.
An understandably lower budget fare than the first two flicks, An American Tail: The Treasure of Manhattan Island is a bit of a mess. It starts with a decent worker's rights musical number (!!!) but then gets a bit cheesy with a quasi-romance and a questionable representation of Native American mice. Its story shows some ambition despite sweeping An American Tail: Fievel Goes West under the rug the first chance it gets.
