So it is no secret or a trick or tip that backlinks hold quite a bit of weight possibly not as much as they once did. However, link building and anchor text ratios matter in a perfect SEO campaign and is still a must to look at in 2020 and beyond, but if it changes I'll be one of the first to let you know about the internet marketing change.

So please note that it is hard to achieve perfect ratio or anchor text especially if doing "white hat outreach" with that said it is great to have a ball park figure in mind so when you reach out you have an idea of how you would like the anchor placed some webmasters will apply your request however a lot will not so really work on your outreach skills :).

So anchor texts and what is covered in today's off page SEO video how to rank #1 on Google.

  1. Anchor text distribution is often overlooked by other SEO's they know the main anchors however they are not directing the SERP to conclude that each and every search result for a particular keyword will be different.

  2. Combining 5-10 competitors for a particular keyword to determine a overall average of each anchor text.

  3. The different types of anchor texts.

Anchor text types below are the main anchor text types used for link building and building links however there are variations of these anchor text types and there are a couple but this is what is included in today's tutorial for off page SEO 2020.

  1. Branded Anchors

  2. Generic Anchors

  3. Naked Link Anchors

4.Partial Match Anchors

5.Exact Match Anchors

So to wrap up the tip,

Gather up all of the websites 5 to 10 websites and then you will want to break down the volume of each type of anchor text after this you can use a tool or do a quick calculation of the overall volume of anchor text diversity coming to an overall average of each.

This is called the "SERP Average" once you have the SERP average you know that this is the level that you want to achieve but ideally just a little bit over is your goal to be competitive.

This has a lot to do with term frequency but within anchor text's it is really the same concept.

So you come to an average and you want to go just above to achieve #1 ranking on Google if all other factors are met and believe me there is a lot but this is one piece.
