If your call-to-action (CTA) isn't obvious, it could be the root cause of poor conversion rates. There are too many distractions on your landing page, which can hinder conversions. Consider eliminating these distractions if you want to see a better conversion rate. If your landing page is too similar to other competitors' pages, it may hurt more than help. Be sure to show off what makes your brand—and your offer—unique.

If you try too hard to sell to your visitors, your site could come across as spammy or unprofessional. If your landing page isn't performing, it could be due to a professional issue. Your copy is too sales or pushy. Excessive use of big words makes you sound like you're overcompensating. The flashier you are, the less convincing you're going to be. People want to see what they're getting, even if it's just a hint of it.

People need a sense of security before they buy from you. Your landing page or blog post needs to be focused and brief, but shouldn't be scrappy. People make flash decisions on landing pages; if they don't make a decision within 10 seconds of visiting, they're likely not coming back. Your landing page should also feature strong, action-based language, with verbs that encourage visitors to act upon their offers.
