It's funny because I was having this conversation in the other day and i've been married to my wife now for sixteen, almost seventeen years and you know, like most married couples that are having like we're having some difficulty struggles and my I was talking to my therapy because we're all kind of fucked up in the head, right? And I was like, dog belong to you. I didn't think i'd be married this long, not because I get in divorce.

I thought can be dead six years ago. cool. I'll get married.

I'll give her that. I'll give a kid. I'll set up up. I'll make sure she's good to go.

And then i'm cking dying from that place and somewhere in the world, you know, yeah, and here I am. Somehow I didn't die. Am, so here, so, yeah, you know, now we're got, what's the next thing? And I don't know .

how far down the tangent we want to go, he goes long as we want right to be Operational overseas. Like when I was in remote and four and or five, you have to accept that you're already did like you have to go into that non permissive environment with an understanding.

I'm probably not coming out of IT because if if you are hopeful that you're going to make IT, what that does is that kind of puts you in a place of fear, right? So you go through your entire twenty years. Like for me, from twenty one to twenty nine was pretty much constantly deployed to iraq, afghanistan. And then thirty, I have a fucking and baby, and I am out of the military and am sitting there with this thing.

And that's why a lot of veterans spin out of control because it's like you have this understanding who you are, what your destiny tailed. And then fuck, I made IT and not that that's a bad thing, but it's actually a confusing thing because now you're just fucked in sitting in this world but like you can't really identify with that doesn't make any sense to you. And I say IT all the time on my show, it's like you went from fucking and fighting men to the death to stocking shelves at home deepo.

And that's where the wheel fell off. You know, I think that the whole veteran suicide epidemic is not due to like depression or things that they saw that they can deal with. It's a loss of identity. And, uh, I think almost everybody that went through that struggled with that to a certain degree. I know him and I talk about that a lot.

I think a lot of people have that, dude, and it's not just veterans, and people have IT like athletes. I know for sure that lets you you've watch your whole life to become this thing and then all the sun, that thing is over yeah. And it's like, what what now, you know, I think even entrepreneurs get that too, man.

And I think that's why a lot of very wealthy, successful people kill themselves because they get to a point where they've accomplished all their um you know financial goals and they ve built the things they want to build and things are going. Then you get there and you're like, well, fuck and what now you know only at the top by yourself yeah and that's why you have to reposition your purpose. Now you have to change from i'm trying to accomplish all these things for me to, i'm trying to accomplish all these things so that other people can benefit. And when you could switch that purpose to that, you know, you never really run out of of motivation.

right? I think you just hit the nail the head is that that that service attitude, where is like you've built like this place for an example, you built this place up a of people, yes, yeah. But like you guys collectively, the royal, you you know have built this place up and then obviously leads been leaders and people that have been really, really instrumental in that build up.

But now look at this place and now you're like, basically you're here for them for all these people in this building. That's why you're here and you're still leading by example but your like not your gratitude may not be the right word but like your enjoyment now by them serving them and absolutely and that's for me like it's a bigger purpose, a hundred percent, and like for me on a smaller scale. And I know with great, like the happiest I am, my happiest times hours through the day is one. I'm on the map with my team, giving them my to you, teaching them, my god, you watching the light poles go off, seeing them hit the move. I just shows them beating the guy that always at the up and give you hug and they're like, really, truly like grateful, you know, like, fuck you just .

But I know, I know you well enough to know that the reason you did that was because you wanted serve the community in the people that that you care about the top give, because we just started this in an unconventional way. And so right out of high school in in the military, I served with the rangers and did some different military contracts, which took about IT was A A ten year period of deploying from a woman in ninety nine and then two thousand and one all the way. What would IT depend? Two thousand and nine as basically deploy a, got married, had a family and that's I said, you know what, being gone sixty nine months, years, I am not very conducive to having a family.

So I moved into the enforcement because that's a very Normal transition for a lot of soldiers. And I worked for a couple different agencies, and then I ended up my last agency was in seattle as a police officer there with the port. And that's when cover kicked off.

And and here's the weird thing, man, like, I liked that agency. I got along with my chief. I was A, I was a fuck in V I P. Like, everybody knew I was a go to guy. I got along with everybody, no complaints, no citizen complaints, nothing on my file. But once I started seeing the direction that law enforcement was going, I realized, like, dude, we have to be the people that take a stand first.

The people in uniform that are sworn to protect the citizens were the ones that have to step up and say, hey, hey, hey, listen, governor, so and so, listen, mayor, so and so, I know you want to do all these things, but that's not how the law works. And so I decided to make a video articulating exactly that. And you were one of the first.

People to reach out to me oh yeah and I remembers that said, you said, bro, you think exactly how I think yeah, we need like, I want you on our team yeah and we started to talking and we form a friendship. But I don't understand. It's funny because I get a lot of people even to this.

The video tell us what the video was because was quite a few years ago.

The video was me in my patrol car in uniform, literally. I was basically calling other on other police officers to take a stand against enforcing covered lockdowns and and illegal covered Mandates. Tes, because that's what they were, right?

Any police officer can tell you, I know DJ is a police officer. If i'm going to arrest you or take any type of legal action, there has to be some type of law or county violation that I can articulate. IT has to be on the books.

I have to have either reasonable suspicion or probable cause to be able to even interfere in the first place. And when we had all these governors, and hey, you know what? Shut the churches down.

Hey, you know what? The playground? Yeah, you can drive. You can drive your car here. All this crazy as like, I don't know how these fucking and governors think the law works, but it's a let them in a little secret ait fucked in that. And remember, remember how drunk on power all these people yeah and bro.

i'm telling you I was crazy. IT was like overnight.

And i'm telling you in the lunchroom behind closed doors, one hundred percent of police officers were like, what the fuck is this? I remember red to this day, like IT was yesterday, sitting in the lunch room watching that paddle border off the coasts of being chased by two police boat. And I was sitting there with, like, fifteen cops in.

Every single cop was like, what in the fucker they're doing? I would never do that. What are those cops do that? I would never do that.

I would never do that. I heard so many cops say that. And I was like, well, instead of sitting in the launch and saying we would never do that, let's like, be public about IT. Let's take a stand. Let's let citizens know that the governor is not a fucking dictator that can rule in your life. The governor has to go through, uh, a legislated process and implement laws if he wants us to be able to enforce them and even if they did do that, still say, fuck you because i'm not shutting down someone's business and then when I took a stand publicly row, a lot of cops were like, you can do that. You can say they want to be cared.

I also say whatever the fuck I want to and it's it's crazy to me a lot of police officers to combat veterans roll, kick a door and remedy or or or go on an Operation where i'm getting ID and shot at and everybodys cool with that but you're afraid to tell mary Jenny durkin of seattle, go fuck yourself. It's like where the fuck is your courage jet ode? And you know that the agency ended up sane, hey, you know, like and this is what my fucking and commander said me, I agree with what you said in principle, but i've been told you can't say that publicly.

I said so you just told me on on our principle basis, you agree with everything I said, but we can say that we can, as police officers, we can impart a good message to our community. He said, no, i've been directed to tell you have to take the video down. I am not taking the fucking and video down a fucking and die first in his money, because he called me, and my wife was sitting next to me where drinking coffee SHE looked at, man, just instantly new.

Okay, I guess i'm unemployed, right? I was. I got let go. Well, I got put on leave that day, and then I got fired a couple months later. But, but here's another thing, the fucking country railed behind me.

Man, hundred started to go fund me, man, and that fuck can really helped my family. And i'll tell you what a lot of cops hate me. Forget that. Go fun me. I got a lot of people talking shit .

There are two pivotal moments that had those events not happen, we would be in a completely different thousand percent, right? But one thing you said, he said, as an entrepreneur, if you're chasing your your dreams and your goals for financial gain, you're never, you're never going to succeed. And I remember that I thinking about that and brow, when I applied that to my academy, because the truth is, in my judge academy, I just want to build killers.

I wanted the tougher studs to come and join me and give me the tougher rounds and have a team like savages. And that was fun for a little while, but I realized exactly what you said, appealing to savages, appealing to the toughest members of your community. They're actually the people that need, at the least, you know, who you need to impart skills on and build up.

It's the people that are over way. It's the people that were never athletes. It's the children that don't have fathers and bro.

and like I know, the people who don't have any confidence have never been believed and are never been told they can do anything.

And bro, once I started to be like, you know what, we can have fight club, but we can also bring in four year old ladies at the overnight. We can bring in ten year old girls that don't have a father. We can bring in the guys that have been behind a desk at boeing ing for ten years and have a beer belly and have never done anything athletic in their life.

And once I started to build an environment that was friendly, welcoming and conducive to all walks of life, boom, that's the magic took off. And i'm telling you, man, i've arted, you know, we've been on this trajectory for four years now. I have seen people's lives change, one hundred native degrees, because they join our team, they start to believe in themselves.

They get on the path. They're eating clean foods. They are exercising. Fuck, half of them have done seventy five hard. And then before, you know, if people realized like oh, there's actually value in being part of something that's seeking personal excEllence and dude, the the limit is actually limitless.

Like we expanded our facility once already and work capacity again yeah, we're already you looking half for and expanded again. Good problems to have, right? But that was the formula. And bro, i'll i'll have A A, A ten year old girl come in who like her shoulder are slouched and SHE looks at the ground and SHE kind of mumbles when you talk to her in inside of three months, she's like, good post.

You shake in your hand, look at you in the eye and it's like that's what's going to save her down the road from a sexual assault or being a victim. Do and think about like that woman whose forty years old who has probably been fuck and put through the ringer multiple times with multiple fucked in relationships or career fox, and you know, all kinds of bullshit. And you take somebody like that and you give them what would be an intimidating skills set for them to consider yeah you know and then all the sudden, like they realized, oh, I I me too.

I can do hard things just like those other people the real me too. That's right. Yeah no sure.

And and then you and then you have a, uh, you know, a casing effect where that woman is now taking that home to our children. And you don't have saying, and like, grow, this is what is going to save society anyway. It's not going to be downal trump.

It's not gonna be a politician. It's gonna be every single individual, every single pillar of society, which is us as individuals, becoming the best that we can be, and then looking out for the person to the left and the person to the right of us, right? Like there is no, there is no room for complacency and passivity anymore in this country considering what we just went through yeah right.

Like that was straight up communist insurgency. And so version has been going on and we were lucky, we were lucky and we still might not be out of words, but we are lucky to even have another chance, because, yeah, in history we almost lost IT. That's right.

In history, when we go past the point where we were at, genocides happen, massive wars happen, and I could still happen. But if we're gonna protect ourselves from this, again, we have to realize that, like. It's not just the men, it's fucking everybody.

IT doesn't matter if you're eighty or fucked in twenty or fifteen or in between, we have to take personal responsibility for being the best versions of ourselves, because society can only be as good as the individual is.
