Every 11 seconds, a company is a victim of a ransomware attack. Often, companies discreetly pay the ransom to avoid embarrassment. But recently, a ransomware attack unintentionally shut down the Colonial Pipeline, which supplies 11 states in the U.S. with their gasoline.
