Well, it's booky season. We have a hunting, specifically a hunting in connect cut, which is right over there, right over there looking at IT. This is the sneaker family hunting.

I looked up how to say that multiple time. So if it's wrong, google wrong. okay. So let's talk about IT to talk about IT alan carmon media min plain villa connective oh, in one thousand nine hundred seventy seven ah SHE was working as a server at a local bowling alley. He stopped in for a beer and they immediately thought the other one was a cut per to. They said, who 笨蛋 呢?

我。 我 还 i don't know .

why I said, but then but then nothing, nothing big happens. There was an undeniable attraction, isn't that?

But then an not deniable attraction came in the room, told chick zo. Really lend that in you like but and I was like.

what there was deniable action. You like really like each other. Yeah, but there is a bug. Carreon was a single mother with two small boys at home. SHE was very hesitant ant to dive back into a relationship again.

And al had also just come out of a bitter divorce after a pretty short lived marriage. So they both had similar hesitations about moving too quickly into something that make sense yeah and it's responsible that is. So they took things slow, they dated casually, but eventually things did become more serious over like two years, and they decided, I look at them.

So after the wedding, the family moved to her live new york, where l found work at a local stone query. And carmon was babysitting for local families while raising her own children, which included her son's phillip and Michael from her first marriage, and eventually two more children that SHE and now had together. Their life in her level was small.

IT was simple, but they liked IT that way. They had a good community. Carmon wasn't solved in church activities that captured busy when SHE wasn't taken care of all the igher hood children.

But in one thousand nine hundred eighty six, Allen carmon received very unexpected and very awful news that would up end their lives. In April of one thousand nine hundred eighty six, fourteen year old Philip developed a dry hacking cough that he just couldn't seem to shake, an all mentioned at the garment. He was like, what's fat about then? He was kind of concerns that IT could be serious, but he was ago.

I think it's pretty just like a season all cold, you know everybody gets some. But a week later, phillip called his mom's attention to the small lump he found on the left side of his neck. And that was when he got really concerned.

So they made an appointment with the pediatrician. How have an abundance of caution? An that doctor recommended that will IT be admit to the hospital for tests. And a few days later, alan Carmen learns that their son had hodgkin's lm foa cancer of the infected system. Oura years old.

I was just going to say so Young really now.

as one of the many small towns and villages that make up the cat skills early via new york didn't have a hospital of its own, and the local medical providers didn't have any of the resources or expertise really needed to provide ongoing cancer treatment a so alan carmon really didn't have any choice but to travel back and forth between her level and farmington connective ow, so that phillip could receive treatment out there.

So they were making daily trips to jump them. Sa hospital in these trips were two in a half hours each way. So carmon n Philip were both usually completely exhausted by the time they got home, and he's exhausted anyway. Yeah, fortunately, I did have some family in the area so common and fill up could stay with them on occasion instead of doing the drive back and forth. But IT became clear pretty quickly that staying with family and driving five hours a day was just not sustainable.

yes, and is not helping the situation. You're all stress yeah you know adding lack of sleep in all of that is like pretty .

not too much ah so in the interests of time, money and most importantly, phillippe's health admin, carma decided IT was probably in everybody's best interest that the family moved to connect cate to be closer to the hospital. So when Philip wasn't going through treatment at john dempsey hospital, carbon spent her days looking for an apartment that could accommodate there are now large family.

Yeah.

it's gonna ith. A lot of people, yet a lot of kids, the two of them. But the problem was that what was available at the time, I was either too small or like way beyond their budget. One afternoon, SHE was driving to see an apartment in nearby southington ah and SHE drove by a beautiful three story home on a quiet street and I had a four rent sign in the front yard.

So he was like, SHE was like big.

Now the apartment that he was supposed to be um going to see ended up being too small .

is the not going to work out what is.

But SHE had some time to kill before heading back to the hospital, so he decided to stop at the house that he saw earlier that day with the big forest sign out in front an inquiry about availability. So inside, SHE said, when he got there, the house was full of contractors, workmen of all type soul renovating one part or or another of the first floor.

SHE wasn't really sure who you should speak to about renting, so he just went from one work on to the other. He told SHE found the forman. The former told her that the owners weren't there at the time, but he did let her into the second full apartment to give her an idea of what the first flow apartment was GTA look like once I was all done.

okay. Now the second flow apartment, IT was beautiful. IT was spacious that could definitely accommodate carmon al in the four kids. IT was perfect. SHE loved.

IT shouldn't wanna get too excited though, because he figured in apartment so large in ice was probably out of their Price range. But SHE still took the landlords number, and he called them as seen as he got home. Because you never know, you never know. SHE said, shoot your shot. Yeah.

what? What do you say? You miss, you miss one hundred percent of the shots you don't take.

Yeah, mics the office when great. Michael Scott, yes, of course you. So the land lord, dairy corn, he was polite on the phone.

But when carbon mentioned that they had four children, he said, noticed a change in his tone. But he did say that kids weren't allowed. To her surprise, the rent was actually, well, their budget.

So when he offered the downstairs apartment, SHE didn't has a tate SHE took IT SHE said, hello, yeah. He said that was a little weird, but it's a gorgeous apartment, whatever yeah. So finding an affordable apartment near the hospital was obviously a relief, and then that they could start saving money again. Cameron and phillip could stop spending half their day driving between new york and connective. But still, karbon was left with this weird feeling in her chest against the anxiety SHE couldn't shake.

IT got nothing about.

And he said he had figured that was because SHE haven't seen the first floor and SHE was like, what if it's not a nice? What if it's not a spaces? And what if, in her rush to mate to find an apartment, SHE made things worse for her family? Like certainly, you know, SHE didn't know that at the time, but her decision to take the apartment in southern ton would definitely have serious consequences for their entire family, and space and affordability would be the least of their concerns soon.

Oh, boy. yeah.

So obviously, for most people, moving from one state to another as a pretty fucking difficult and daunting regardless of their circumstances. But for Cameron and all this was pretty shady timing like their son is very sick yeah very and also all put in a transfer request with this company. But he was going to take a while for them to fully IT. So he was gonna to stay back in new york while everybody else moved to contest.

That sucks.

And Philip was too ill to be of much help in the moving process. And carmon's second oldest, and Michael was spending the summer with his grandmother and alabama. So pretty much all of the responsibility was on her to get things back to moved over.

Obviously, out could held bulk was also work. yeah. And the process was made doubly chAllenging by the fact to that.

You know, of course, they needed to pack and move as soon as they could, but at the same time, Philip still was going back and forth for treatments. So they were hardly out of the woods. yeah. Now, one night, a couple weeks before the move, they're still in their their place.

Caron had this dream where he was walking through all this is so far and creepy SHE is walking through a hallway lined with caskets, and he said each one contained a pale nude body of some unknown deceased person. And SHE wasn't alone in her dream. There was another man walking through the hall, SHE said.

He was, quote, zigging ing in and out between the caskets Carrying one of those old ominous tools that undertakers once used in the involve ing process. Oh, when he woke up, he turned to al and SHE deployed out the apartment. That house is a funeral home.

What the for like.

just SHE knew what the immediately. Now no one had said anything to comment about the home having ever been a funeral home, he said. But he said, somehow SHE just knew that I was, or at least IT had been one at one point time.

So I was like, okay, do you want to back out of IT like we haven't signed anything yet? But the thought of continuing to drive back and forth every day was just too much to bear. And SHE had already looked at a ton of apartments in the towns around the hospital, and they'd either been too smaller, too expensive s so SHE is SHE couldn't give up this opportunity.

yeah. So in june thirty, if thousand nine eighty six, SHE started unloading the moving truck in the new, at the new apartment. Now, the day they arrived with the truck was the first time that alan carmon actually saw the new apartment.

Could remember they saw the second working on IT. They were working on IT. So before they unloaded the truck, they went inside just to look around.

And contractors actually still working on the first floor. There was like, saw us would just construction mess everywhere, but the basement was empty. So they went down on stairs to see what kinds space they had to work with there, like most basements in old new england homes.

That was kind of mud. The air was thick IT was cold down there. We all know that basement, I can smell IT, but the space was quite a bit more than either of them was expecting.

At the foot of the stairs, there was a pretty large room that opened until that right. And then on the left there was a set of french doors that LED an even larger room. And there were three other smaller rooms adjacent to the larger ones.

But Allen carbon were like, what would those be used for? Required are some battery for activities that, so they like, poked her on the basement, and they started to get a sense of what had once scutt down in these rooms. Carmon found what he described as a quote, gruson bloodstained wall and a quote, chain powered body lift that looked more medieval than contemporary. What, the more they explore the basement, the more evidence they found confirming that the residence had definitely been a .

home at one point. Latter blood .

Willy, everywhere you .

supposed to clean?

I kind thought that too.

It's important part of that job by the thing.

Yeah, I was like a blood born pathogens.

You never want blood spatter on.

No, I definitely don't. You're so right in .

that yeah you're just really good really you really do. Yeah that happens in that industry for sure. Yeah I mean, that makes sense. Gonna be there while you're doing your thing. You clean up after what .

isn't there are usually like a sheet or something up like is there anything up like to protect .

the funeral home? Because I don't know how they know embalming process. I assume there would be precautions like to know what isn't just battering against the wall and why did that happen? Like you, once I get to the funeral home, it's like and shouldn't be happen. All the blood usually happens .

in the more that kind of .

what I thought to and we clean them. But what will get to .

the questions.

I don't know.

But apparently at the end of the hall there were shelves on the wall that held boxes of older bombing tools. That's kind of cool. I thought the same thing.

They didn't have the same reaction. There was also a box in the corner that contained black blacks for the coffin that had already been removed, killing that I didn't love. I I didn't like the the plex, but with the embalmed tools might .

would be inside.

I don't know if I don't want to keep them in my house though.

Yeah.

I don't know. It's giving you. It's giving you. I don't know. I know what that .

i'm fascinated by embarkment tools.

and I would definitely, but alan carmon were not. They were shaken as they made way back upstairs, but carmon reiterated that SHE couldn't Better to look for another apartment while also taking care of fill up in the other three kids. So they agreed to keep the houses passed to themselves.

They weren't going to tell the kids. They said, we know we'll remove all the funeral items before the kids can see them and i'll paint the walls and cover all those disturbing statement. Yeah, yeah. We'll be fine in the landor's special.

I feel like this is not gonna badly at all. No, no.

Now, by the time they were rock outside, the landlord, mister kern, was said to have arrived to greece. Them carbon was surprised that he seemed amused when he asked whether the house used to be a funeral home, and SHE said he told their auto worry is natica. The place hasn't been in useful time for two years or so.

So I be like two years was two years? Pretty fuck in reason. Well, that's like fresh blood, as far as i'm concerned, pretty fresh. He also informed them that he would prefer that the old funeral tools will remain in the basement. And he said, they made great conversation pieces, don't you think?

I mean, while I agree with him, I H no, you can. Maybe you should take them.

or is the thing you can .

tell me what to do? You can do that is and understand. You may find them fascinating.

Other people might not. And that's okay. People can be put off by them, and that's fine.

No, IT is important state, of course, that this is the syn tickers version. Of course not.

It's not. You know, somebody following them with the camera and what we .

don't know that the land lord never said this, but according to that.

what then you say, hey, you know, yeah, maybe that's not for you to say now.

IT took a few days before the renovations were finished, so Cameron and the kids stayed in a motel room while l went back to new york to finish out the last few weeks of work. After all the expenses that they had entered, the motel was an additional hardship because they didn't have a tone of money. They were this famous like very hard on cash at this point because.

I mean, there's the illness exactly. Is a lot that's a big family to take care. Yeah exactly.

So Cameron was relieved when a few days later, they were finally able to move into the house. SHE in all managed to move those objects in the basement over to the garage. Uh, while the larger items like the body lift, they try to tuck into a corner to kind of obscure IT. But a pretty big thing. Yeah.

body lift, like a chain powered body lift, is not not gonna be easy to, just like making to a sculptures in .

the corner. Yeah, ably not. I ve never had experience with one, so I can't say. But yeah.

not not going to be easy to hard.

Yeah, but try, as he might common realize pretty quickly that the children were bound to find out soon, like we just said, it's not easily had. So after a few days moving in, carbon was in the kitchen washing dishes. When behind her, SHE heard Philippine into the room, and SHE said that he said to were quietly, mom, we have to leave this house.

There's something evil here. Oh, surprise. He turned around to find that phillip actually look very serious. And he was like, leave. We just got here.

But he insisted that they needed to go back to new york and get the flock away from this house. He said, if we don't leave here, something bad is gonna en to us. Something really bad that's scary.

Like I would really like, all right, pack you show up. Let's go. You know what? Let's go.

But they don't really have anywhere to go back to, which is a predicament, if you will. But so he explains, he was like, houses aren't evil. Nothing here can hurt us.

But philp was not persuaded. Years later, carbon would say, I didn't believe in ghosts. I thought they were just a thing of imagination. But above all, phillip's biggest concern was sleeping in his new in the basement.

which I was like, I don't blame that one.

I don't know if we should put the kid fighting cancer in the musty, dusty basement with bombing tools, with the bombing tools and just leg, it's colder down there and like musty, like it's a new .

I is a new england based thing. IT is a new england basement of a former funeral. I don't really think .

this doesn't seem like a great idea. Yeah, he didn't want to be there. He, him and Michael, we're going to be sharing the room.

But remember Michael away. So, oh yeah, he he was in alabama grandmother, which meant that phillip was going have to sleep done stairs alone. And he was like, i'm not gonna do that.

He told carbon he would sleep on the living room floor before he slept in that basement. Oh, the same. Not retweet. Yeah, no.

Let's talk about something really important that most people don't realize. Did you know that there actually aren't any requirements for baby food companies to test their products for chemical contaminants? Ninety three percent of parents are concerned about the presence of toxic levels of heavy medals in baby food.

Little poon is the first and only baby food brand in the U. S. To set strict limits for more than five hundred toxins and contaminants based on the best in class european standards. And if their products don't meet these standards, they won't sell IT. It's that simple piece of mind delivered.

I always have my good arrets APP up if i'm adding to the pharmacy because ten out of ten times honestly, i'll find a Better Price on good arx this flu season stay prepared with guaraons go to guaraons that comm slash morbid that's good ext com flash morbid. So carmon knew that neither he nor al had said anything to the kids about the homeless, pastas, a funeral home and Philippa and said anything about IT either, but he just seemed have the sense that something was off about this place.

But he also was like, okay, it's fairly common for kids to be unhappy after a move. And phillip also has a lot on his plate right now, like physical, emotional stress, which is true. He's going through daily treatments. And the copal treatments that he was getting daily had a range of side effects, from fatigue and hair loss to noja and even cognitive impairments.

okay. So they're thinking a bit like, yeah, this potentially could .

be that exactly. SHE talked up his apprehension and anxiety just to his yeah. And he said, you know what? I just thought he would settle and eventually, but a few days later, when I arrived for the weekend, and he reassured her that he was probably right.

That was just anxiety. Phillip would forget about IT in due time once he got more comfortable. But phillip did not forget about IT, and he stayed true to his word, and he spent the first week sleeping on the couch in the living room, not set out there.

His fears of the basement were just the beginning of what would eventually become what the family claimed was two years of psychological trauma and paraNormal attacks, just days after telling his mom that he felt the house was evil, Philip started hearing discard body, the voices saying his name, but he couldn't figure out where they were like he would hear them, but couldn't pinpoint the origin. At the same time, he felt this growing sense that he was never alone in the house or even in his bedroom. IT was like he was just being watched all the time. But whenever he would experience something he couldn't explain, he fought the urge to run to his parents to tell them what would what IT happens? Because, I mean, they didn't believe him.

Yeah so why you going to keep saying IT?

And also, he knew that they had moved to connect cate to be closer to the hospital. So he kind felt like he was the reason why everybody's lives got up ended. So he didn't want to he didn't want to .

cause further problems. What he saw s his problems on his mind.

exactly. Even though they were. Everybody was happy to move like it's OK, but he's thinking is like a exactly.

So one morning, a few weeks after moving in, phillip was walking from the kitchen to the living room when he said he heard a man's voice, strong and clear, say his name in a questioning tone like Philip. So we turned slowly looking around for whoever had called out to him. But there was nobody there in the bathroom down the hall, he could hear the shower running.

And he knew his mom was like in there. And he was like, okay, maybe she's talking to herself, but that definitely sounds like a man's voice. But then he heard IT again, and they said, fill up.

He said the voice wasn't loud or grow, but I was clear. And whoever IT was, they sounded irritated and continued coming. Philip, oh, now the voice sounded impatient, like whoever IT was was like expecting a response.

So he took a few steps toward the bathroom, desperately wanting to call out for carbon. But instead he took he, so he like, moved to the bathroom. He's like wanting to call up for his mom.

But then he walks back to the basement to be like, as are coming from down there yeah. Then he walked toward the basement stairs on the door, standing open, and he said, the voice called out again, saying, phillip, come down here. Oh yes.

He was like, okay, it's coming from the basement. Thank you. So we took a few more substandard the basement stairs and the voice call, IT IT again. Phillip, come down here. You've got to see this.

No, can you describe IT to me? So I have a lot of plans today.

Sorry.

thank you so much. And he said the tone.

like when I was like, got to see this was almost like joking. Like I was like a light one friend would .

be like on my god.

you got to see this yeah and then the voice said, again, come in your Philip, I want to show you something just fucking time like, so like IT he back away from the basement he's said slowly with in the voice got quiet, quieter with each step until he was in the living or where he just turned on the TV and hoped that I would drown out the man and the basement calling for him.

I'm sorry if I heard somebody say my name from the basement and tell me to come down and .

look at this that many times.

many times there is no way i'm pulling this age, this agal chesnut of. Well, I figured I would just stop and I went to sleep. I never understand that because i'm sorry if i'm here.

Like there's certain things you see something that can you think you're seeing a sleep else? demon? Nothing there. Yeah, I can get that. Like you just go to sleep because you are like, that was my wacky mind, right? Sorry if i'm getting full loan auditory allus instance where I am hearing somebody saying my name and telling me to come downstairs and then I move closer and they continue to yeah .

i'm out of here i'm .

telling ever get the whole family and then i'm lighten the .

place of boys we are we, we are we.

There is no way of turning the tb and hoping that that man and the basement doesn't come up to show me the thing he wanted to show me.

Yeah, that's not my cup of tea personally wild. And no, so this time he did tell, he decided he was like, i'm going to tell my mom that's a great idea. I was fucked. And me, what? You didn't take him serious?

No, come on. You can see there's a person in the basement. You ve got to do something.

I think he thought that I was like a side effect of the tree.

One hundred percent probably. But i'm just looking at this from a totally third party, one person in twenty, twenty four, twenty four in the situation.

And so he was like, no, like, you gotta listen. IT was IT and he said he was a man's voice, but not a person.

Oh, no.

Like he would somehow understand what he was saying but he was like, there's no one dow stairs SHE didn't say that mean, just like there's no one downstairs .

like we again, like kids say wacke y shit too. It's like that. So hard to like. You don't want to feed into every single right thing like that because then you are going to cause the shoes what.

And he also didn't want him scaring the like. He was like cut IT out. Yeah.

don't make them suddenly think there here.

And also, she's got this anxiety that she's kind of shopping to the side because he didn't love the idea that this place used to be a funeral homes.

which he is like a stock ing and he knows what's in that basement, what they saw in that basement. You probably all the more reason.

well, so he decided that he didn't want to be wholly dismissive, but wanted to suit his anxiety. So SHE confided in him, I don't know why he thought this. I'm sari carmon. I don't know why he thought this was going to could suit well, yeah, I think you, I don't know why he thought this was going to make him feel Better, but he told him about the the houses history as a funeral home.

SHE said that SHE didn't say anything before because he didn't want to scared the children and also SHE SHE was like, please don't say anything to them but SHE was like, maybe you're just picking up on our anxieties about the history of the house and that's why you're feeling someone easy. I don't know about that now. I think SHE.

I mean, you don't know what to do with .

that situation. I understand .

it's a lot.

It's a lot you .

can take IT is it's one of .

those paths that you can choose.

But I SHE also .

pretty sleep to deprive because she's like being in her most so very true.

It's just like, I don't know, I think you just confirmed his fears yeah.

And he said that he hoped her honesty would reassure him there was nothing wrong with the house. All IT really did do his suspicions that this place was haunted as fuck is like, of course, IT is now. In the weeks that followed, the other kids started reporting strange experiences in the house. Carmon's Youngest daughter, steph anie, told her mom that he had seen a woman standing in her bedroom with, quote, her arms open, as if he was beckets her to come. No, no, thanks.

no. And that would also make me really angry.

I get out of my kids and carmon actually figured that despite his promise, phillip had told the other kids about the funeral home past. And that's what caused Stephanie to think the two was seeing ghost. But when he confronted him about IT, like when carbon went to fill up him, was like, what the fuck european all the Younger kids now he was like, I didn't say anything yeah .

so he gave him .

a lecture about scaring the little kids but he was like, I also couldn't help but feel that he was telling the truth, like I believe when he said, yeah, say anything so they are just going through IT in Allen caron hoped that Philips fears in anxiety would subside once everything got settled in the house, like once the move was kind of officially like everything I packed, you know, in. But things really only seem to get worse.

Philip continued hearing voices in the basement, calling out to him, trying to learn him down the stairs. In a few times, he thought that he had seen something moving in the dark at the bottom of the basement stairs. But every time he brought up to his parents, they dismissed his claims.

Now, fortunately, he found an ally and his sister Stephanie, who quite a bit Younger than him, even though he had seen things in the house. And he believed to what her brother were saying. SHE was like, I think that is, is also haunted .

as float a get what they do now.

within just a few weeks after moving in the tension and the house was felt by everybody. I was finishing out the last days of his job, and carbon just couldn't wait to have him home full time to help with the kids because he was losing your fucking mind.

Especially when everyone thinking.

their hearing goes, yeah, that's a lot tough like the this families dealing with the first philp, meanwhile, was now several months and to cancer treatments. And I was starting to take a toll on and physically, and of course, emotionally. So the stress was just affecting the entire house, and carbon just didn't know what to do.

One afternoon, while the kids were playing outside, he was kind of lost in their thoughts, just mindlessly mopping the floor. And SHE said he caught the scent of something metallic, unpleasant blood. And when he looked down, he saw that the water in the mop bucket has become a bright red color.

And IT started to strain to stay in the strings of the mop. So she's snapped out of thoughts and realized that whatever was in the bucket, SHE had smear IT all over the floor because he wasn't paying attention before and then the smell matter pay attention. And when he looked down, everything was like crimson coloured yeah so not wanting the children to see the mass, SHE grabbed the role of paper towels and cleaned up everything that but he could.

And he was like, you know, something must have been under the luna. I got into the water, I don't know. Yeah, he was like, maybe it's a chemical reaction as something but in the back of her mind, SHE couldn't help but think of what Philippine said of all when they moved in now by summers. And he was starting to feel more optimistic about the move locally. Her said Michael had come home from alabama and he was he brought like very positive energy to a house.

He brought good.

but he brought good vibes. yeah. And also, phillips treatments were almost done. So they had like a waiting period where things would settle a bit more.

And now that his brother was home, Philip had agreed to start sleep ing down the stairs as long as he in, Michael could Cherry a room. And Michael was a, again, no rubble. I bring good webs.

I bring good bb, let's saying so. A few nights after they settled into their shared basement bedroom, phillip told his brother about the history of the house in of the basement in particular. And he expected his brother to react with hora.

But he had a sibling like elena. So Michael thought this entire thing was, hello, exciting. I see Michael with the goodbye.

Michael with goodbye. He was like, was interesting. Now, his enthusiasm waned slightly when phillip told him about the other things. Yeah, the voices calling out from the dark, yeah, that would fuck me.

The glimpses of things moving, seeing things out of the corner of his, I, like you didn't love that now that night, as they were getting, you know, ready for bed in their room, Michael went up stair to brushes teeth in. Phillip was left alone in the room. So he's trying out to panic.

He gets in a bed and he says he puts his headphones on, hoping that the music would distract him until Michael got back. But out of the corner of his eye, he thought he saw something move. So he frozen in bed, not wanting to look up, but at the same time he couldn't not look.

So he raised as had slowly and looked, told the french stores that let into the other room. And he said, then he saw a man's face pale in Young, bring back at him through the crack in the doors. Which have you picture that that's fucking horrified that yeah, that's true for one thing about me is that I fucking love french doors.

Yes, and that could even ruin french doors for me. Sure, get that you're out here and there. But he said the face was one he had never seen before.

He was gone sickly and had dark black eyes, and he said the man's lips were moving like he was saying something. But phillip couldn't hear anything. He just saw that the man was like talking, but not saying anything.

Why do I hate that more? right? So you like, I hate the idea of a man's .

face just looking through my french doors.

I mean, I hate the idea of a man's face .

and even just if they're sitting, they're just looking at me. The mouse moving would be the end .

if you feel like whispering something.

Yes, I don't hear what you to say. I don't want to hear what you I don't like IT. It's probably some dams like and if that you're going to say that's going to fuck me up for .

the rest of my life yeah even it's it's also almost worse like not knowing what he's saying because I make your mind tells in the blanks it's probably just like a bad, bad and you don't and that's my opinion. You grow face in the door.

yes.

So filp watched in horror as he saw the man start to slowly reach one hand out like he was gonna en the door do that. And at that moment, fillip had finally gathered the image to kick those sheet off the bed. And he took two stairs at a time of the baseball stubs.

I felt that in my legs know that crazy as feeling in your legs when you're running up from the basement. Yes, you shut the light off and you're running six stairs at the time, but you feel that that the burning .

got burning like you whenever I like run away from something for get my back like .

A G and you just like there's electricity in your life up. I can .

feel IT right now. And so many years are .

partly that made my legs.

So he burst into the living room, and he crashed to his knees when he was finally in the safety of the living room. But the commotion drew everybody to the living room, of course, and everybody gathered around phillip p. As he was just worthlessness trying to explain what he had seen in the bed.

And my god, i'll rushed down the stairs on curve of what he would find he's really like, is there a person in the basement? yeah. So he rushes down into the basement to check everything out, but finds nothing there. And when he came back up to the living room, he was flocking pace.

I don't like that.

He liked he yeah. He yelled at phillip p, demanding that he stopped ed telling child dish, go stories and start acting his age. Don't really. And they just sent everyone to bed.

Oh, come on, parenting in the eighty. Yeah, I was just going to say that some baby parenting my note here.

not apparently when no.

definitely not got to talk through that. You yeah got dismissed.

Ars like that you got a gentle parent your way through .

that that get whole parents in the eighties were so far away from gentle parenting. It's not .

even that i'll give you to try a, i'll give you up .

that a fear ghost about you. The definitely wasn't going to have like a talk through feelings at that moment.

Definitely not. So the weeks pass. The voices in the Operations became a common part of the boy's lives. Years later, Michael said, the first time I seen a ghost that appeared with cat like eyes glowing up on the ceiling, looking down on my bed. Even he is experiencing IT.

You know that my uncle used to tell me that I had cat life.

really? Yeah, you just want like they they turn orange.

Sometimes I could see that me. So maybe that was me.

You're weird. You're so weird.

Don't you're weird wear .

such a like, so here we are. We are not just say to that. yeah. And honestly.

I bradly wouldn't. So but the ghost moved about .

the rooms on the basement. Sometimes Michael said they would like study him and phillip from the corners of the room, just kind like looking at them. Other times they would whisper to each other in hush tones that sounded rude. Yeah, they would whisper. And he said that sounded to them like the hiss of a lizard stake like you was shot.

Like when you touch the end of like a candle that's gone out, if you touch them with your finger.

that just sounds like boom, roasted IT does know, but Philip hope taking Michael hole would make things Better. But now his parents were just accusing him of filling Michael had with these scary stories yeah, everybody is kind of being being addiction. Philip, yeah, but yeah.

So I 行 的 声音 的 just scale and tied over here yeah, hinton, but despite her near certainty that there was nothing more than just silly go stories, caron still couldn't check the feeling that something about the stories that her boys were telling about these pale, menacing figures dressed in fucking in suits was genuine, SHE said. They seemed the stories just seem too outraged to be true, but also to detail to have been made up on the spot. So he was like, I fuck and hate those and .

you can tell when your kids are really scared. Yeah, you really can.

You can tell that and I think SHE, he saw that and them especially like a mama yeah, like he saw that and like your fear SHE was like, I don't want na believe any of this and you .

might not believe that it's like this goes down there are scaring your kids but something is upsetting your child yeah she's worried genuinely .

yeah so the end of summer brought some welcome distractions as three of the four kids return to school that gave common some alone time. I'll finally moved into the house for good luck. I got transferred.

But whatever relief the distractions brought was soon overshadowed by a series of undeniable experiences that would forever change the family. Oh, I had only been home about a week or so when his first experience happened. He got woken up in the middle of the night from the sound of like movement and hushed voices.

He said the hemet sounded like somebody was in the house but didn't want to be detected. So mediately, he's like, what before? Yeah, I don't like that.

So he listened closely for a moment or two, and then he heard the faint sound of music playing in the distance. And he said, IT sounded like thirties music from an old Victoria. Along with the music, I could hear three or four older men.

Okay, that's like.

kind of okay. So, guy, not that reaction. Yeah, you hear like an old Victory.

Ller, let you check that up. What's fucking gogo? I like, what do you think about?

What let's do that you want to bear? Yeah, what's that Victory? So we got, had to bed. He followed the sounds, seeing that you would find one of the kids watching T. V O, exactly.

But when he got to the hallway, he discovered that the sounds seemed to be coming from the basement. At first he thought that, you know, maybe I was Michael and phillip, but also he didn't sound like just two boys. IT was loud, like, it's not like a holy. He was like, did they sneak friends into the basement?

Did they find a Victoria? Yeah, you know, kids and their Victoria parties are their problem dear into the world.

David, in the nature he goes if they had, why would they be listening to such morning for antiquated music?

I don't come like so stuck about chick's and just a new victrola er just just .

not too good to a morkan antiquated dave davies comments are my actually favor day for for the wim because there we started done the stairs expecting to find this group of kids listening to antiquated music. But when he got, when he got about a half way down, he stopped because he realized that the basement was completely dark, and he could still hear hush tones of multiple voices talking. But he could also hear the slow, steady breathing of his kids like they were. so.

Now, when he noticed that when he heard them sleeping, that was when the music stopped and the people stopped talking like a very abrupt, I don't like that. yeah. He slowly pushed open the french doors and stepped inside. And he said he was unnaturally, inexplicably foing in that room like, but he was, I don't know why I was so called in there because IT was like.

a hundred ghosts and there .

having a control of part, a big party, the control. But thank you one back to bed didn't say anything. The comment about what he experienced communication is not key.

Here I go. This is so. But a few hours later, he woke up again. And this time the bed was like vibrating underneath them, like shaking. So we just lay there, as he said, staring at the ceiling and trying to ignore the fact that is, fucking bed is vibrating, let's stopping during this stuff. That is that definitely, at some point, he said he got to be too much to ignore. So he got up and went to the living room to watch TV and just trying to, like, put the nights of one sort of his head valid was like, i'm going to go watched the time i'm just, you have my bed is vibrating so if you need me, i'll be watching the television. What do you turn on the?

G, just I was going to say, like, I just go turn. That was like.

what you, what? What would you turn on? My immediate thought was the simple life girls boom.

our .

different forms of company. So later, once they were out of the house and living elsewhere, Allan carbon would talk of their experiences like they kind of started like suddenly out of nowhere. But the truth was, each of them was having their own experiences, but they just never shared them with each other.

So like he had experienced the same thing too. Both of them also saw things move out of the corner of the eye. They heard sounds, they heard voices.

And carbon had more than one. SHE had woken up to the bed vibrating underneath her, but he just never told her husband. And then there was also phillip's behaviour.

He had always been a really well behaved, respectful kid. But after moving into the new apartment, should they said his personality really started to change? He was more define, he was chAllenging. He was such like soin, which you could choke up to the fact that he's a Young kid going to cancer, like he's probably pretty fucked and pissed off my life, I would be.

But more disturbing was the fact that he actually had come to enjoy spending time in the basement, oh, which, like he was, he was so scared, remember of the best, that he was sleeping in the living room, and then all of the sudden they couldn't get him out of the basement. Like, loved being down there. I don't like that.

So carmon SHE said he tried to ignore everything by focusing on volunteer work with the church, and i'll turned to alcohol to quit at his mind. But soon the horror in the house was unavoidably present. One night in the winter, I woke up in the middle of the night by the shaking, and at first he thought I was just the vibrating of the bed.

But soon he realized IT was carmon shaking him out of his sleep like waking him up. And SHE yelled to him that their bed was vibrating. But for the first time since this happened, both of them could feel IT at the same time. And in the weeks that followed, kerman said that he would often hear a mocking laughter coming from behind her when he was up the sink doing dishes.

oh, I don't like that.

and all could hear out the sounds of things moving around the house. And that they said that there was always the faint sound of music coming from the basement. Like, even when, like phillip isn't playing music down there, look was old weird .

fucking music of party music exactly.

Now, in june of one thousand nine hundred eighty seven, just about a year after the family moved into the house, carbon gotto call from her sister Megan and alabama. And Megan explained that her SHE was going through like a really bad time with her health. And on top of that, he and her husband, we're going through really messy divorce.

And SHE was hoping that alan karma would be willing to take her two daughters, twelve year old mary in seventeen year old Kelly, just until he was able to get back on her feet. yeah. So carbon talked IT over without that afternoon, and they agreed that if mega needed help, they wanted to lend.

Let's nice of them.

yep. Now kern knew that, you know, helping her sister was the right thing to do. SHE also felt very apprehensive about bringing more people and was already like super chaotic cos.

This point, the experience that the experiences that SHE in band having, but never talking about, ever had continued. And phillip's behavior, in general, demining IT, was just getting worse over the year that he was spending a lot of his time in his bedroom alone. And even more disturbing was the way that he talked about the ghosts he had once been, like, we just had terrified to be alone in the basement. And now they said he preferred the spirits of the dead to the company of his own family, and had even started calling the spirits his friends.

Okay.

which is like, I would hate that.

Yeah, we're going into A A dark place now.

yeah. So by that fall, carmon's nieces settled into the house. They didn't really like.

Once they got settled, they fall like they really part of the family. They weren't just guests. I just want to give a trigger warning here um for like sexual assault.

Oh yes, IT gets very rough here. It's quick, but it's not awesome. So one night in the early fall, marine Kelly were sleeping their beds.

When phillips quinin quote, friends told him that he was, quote, time to go visiting with his cousins. So he went up the stairs from the basement of the main floor is quietly as he could, trying not to wake anybody up. And he crept into the girl's room, where they were deeply sleep.

And he stood over Kelly. He put a hand on her shoulder to see if I would wake her. And when he didn't wake up, he moved his hand down to her chest. So you like grope.

turning her sleep. What the fuck?

Later, he would claim that the men in the basement forced him to do what he did, according to the voice, has pointed out that Kelly was, quote, too big and could defend herself because she's the older girl.

This is so fucked up if .

this is very dark and like actually very hard to even talk about. But on the other side of the room, he said that the the ghosts were telling him that there was someone much smaller who probably wouldn't resist him. So phillip turned away from Kelly in, walked toward mary, sped and did the same thing to her.

oh my god.

Now, two days later, Kelly told carmon that he had actually walked in on phillip attempting to do the same thing to marry again, and that SHE stopped him before he could get very far. So Kelly did put a stop to this. Now karmin was stunned, like Philippine changed his personal. I had darkened quite a bit, but he never thought he was capable of something like this. These are his father cousins.

And this was disgusting. And I don't want to hear about fucking and ghost telling you .

to go to exactly here. So I will say that sounds like carmined the right thing. He went and confronted him like was like, what the fuck? But he denied everything with a smirk on his face.

Oh, so SHE was super .

frustrated and SHE didn't know what to do with them. So SHE called the police and reformed the are like on her own child.

I mean nothing of the hardest yeah thing for her ever after.

but it's .

thing to thing to .

do but because it's also her nieces Harrison position yeah. So pieces I know especially going to everything that they are already going through. So that afternoon, Philip was taken to taken by police to the local prison and questioned about the accusation of assault.

And he confessed after some questioning that he had been sneaking into their room at night and touching them regularly while they slight. He also trigger warning. This is really horrible. He said he, quote, attempted unc unsuccessfully to have sex with his twelve year old cousin.

What the fuck?

yeah. So he was taken from the police station immediately to a juvenile detention. He was interviewed at length by a prison psychiatrist who told Allan carmon that in his opinion, Philip was experiencing symptoms of early onset schizophrenia.

A oh god, yeah. The diagnosis obviously was devastating for his parents, but IT also kind of explained his behavior over the previous year. The ghost to the voices, the oppression and now these assaults, it's making more sense.

IT is. So the doctor recommended that Philip be placed in a psychiatric unit for sixty days of observation, and then from there they would develop treatment plan. But until they could find a bed for him at the hospital, this psychiatrist recommended that he've remained in the juvenile detention centre because he didn't think he would be safe for the family to .

have Philippe turn n obviously. yeah.

So phillip diagnoses the assaults on their nieces. They were devastating for carbon. Allen, the kids, but at the very least, carmon hoped that would fill out of the house for a while.

Things would finally go back to Normal. SHE was wrong. In the days and weeks that followed, strange occurrences in the house continue. There was inexplicable noises, flashes of movement from the corners of the room. There was always that strange music playing in middle of the night, or he, and having been traumatized by the assaults, mary no longer wanted to stand the house.

So carbon had to make arrangements for her to stay with her other sister in connecting that poor girl in a few days after her sister moved out of the house, Kelly started having her own horrific experiences. In the middle of the night, SHE had heard out like everybody else in the house talk about the ghost, but SHE SHE was like, maybe I heard a few like weird noises, but I never knew what to make of anything. I never saw any anything.

But then one night, as he was trying to fall asleep, SHE felt something touching her leg, SHE said later, I couldn't see IT, but IT was freezing cold, so SHE said SHE threw back the sheet and SHE kicked out whatever was touching her, but IT only crept closer and moved up her cafe. So SHE didn't know what to do. So SHE grabs her rosy that SHE up next to her bed, and SHE started saying the lords prayer, but the cross in her hands suddenly bent, SHE said, like somebody was trying to rip IT from her hands violently.

So SHE screamed for her own and uncle and from their bed, carbon heard heard news, screaming for help in a way that by then was familiar from all the times that fill up. And my gold od claimed to see ghosts. Cameron said, I grabbed my bible from the nightstand, and i'm just saying to myself, i've gotta find something to put all these good stories to rest.

I've had IT up to hear with the ghost stories, but when SHE so SHE entered Kelly s. Room and SHE doesn't see anything but SHE lishe listened as Kelly explained what SHE felt in later, caron said, I didn't leave her. I thought the older boys had gotten her excited about the stories in the funeral home, but the scene repeated itself the next night, and karma approached that with the same skepticism as he had the night before.

But on the third night, SHE just could not deny what was happening to Kelly and trigger warning for sexual sault here. This is really awful. That evening, when Kelly yelled for help, caron one into the room expecting to find nothing, but SHE said he found her new struggling on the bed.

And when he went closer, SHE saw a hand or SHE fell to him. Sorry, you push her back violently. And SHE caught a glimpse of what was attacking her niece, SHE said, I saw an ARM. The nuckles and joints go up under her nights, share up over her breast and back through the wall. At that point I realized something was going on.

What the fuck is going on here?

IT only gets worse. what? So much worse?

Oh my.

After that night, the attacks on the entire family escalated to the point that one or more of the family members were being attacked or harassed like daily. At first, Kelly seemed to be the main target, and he was assaulted several more times. This on scene entity, SHE said. This assets over gas, SHE said the covers would be pulling off the bed, there would be voices and lots of scratches, SHE said.

IT seemed as though, with fillip t of the house, the ghost had shifted the attention to the other members of the family and nobody was wow one evening after Cameron had fAllen in, asleep in the bed next to her husband, the entity turned its attention toward out the he, he, I have like a quote here of his experience, and it's trigger ing, I would say so he told Sally jess rafle. I felt a strange sensation coming over my body. IT started at my feet and was climbing up through my body before I had a chance to reach over, to tell carbon, to tell her something was wrong.

I was frozen and couldn't move. Then I felt distingue penetration in my anal area. And I was trying to scream, to cry out for carmon to help me somehow.

But I couldn't move after a while. I don't know how long I had gone away, and there was no more sensation. I won't carm up. And I said, carmon, I think I was just satisfied by this demon.

Yg, I I have no words, I have so many feelings. Do Carry hn, okay.

So he said when he tried to explain the common what happened, he struggled to find the right words. He said in the assad, he said, IT wasn't like a Normal rape, not like a person to person type. He felt this like tiy.

this is horrific.

IT really is, and reminds me of the recovered smaller, the smaller thing. Yes, I thought .

of them too.

So a few minutes later, carmon had her own experience with the entity. In middle of the night, he said, when IT would take me sexually assault me, IT would laugh with such pleasure. IT enjoyed what I was doing to me, and I just couldn't move.

IT was the most terrifying thing i've ever experienced. So this started would like, voice is seeing things out of the corner of their eyes. And then I turned to fall blown like sexual assault deep and style.

This is a so much this is not just a regular hunting. This isn't a run .

of the mill haunt.

It's not this is one of those once you.

it's definitely not. no. So after more than two years, at this point, the family knew that they couldn't just, you know, continue living like this, being attacked tonights, but they didn't really know what to do or how they should even proceed.

Their first instinct was to call the police, but, uh, you can't what to say, what say, and they didn't think any anybody would believe them. So instead, carmin turned to their church for comfort and hoped that their priest, father week would have some idea about what to do. He did .

not sharks.

He had like one idea, but he didn't really work. He had one idea, like one idea.

He had a chrome of an idea to kind of the .

a few days later, father week came over. He was sitting in the living girl and he listen, does carbon told them about what had been happening? And you know, he was patient, he was supportive.

But as carbon suspected he was, he was skeptical to say the least. He said, your entire family has been through a great deal but then he rattle awful list of the traumas that they had experience since Philip had been diagnosed with. And then you know, everything else they're gone through yeah so he was essentially being like you've gone through a lot and I think it's manifesting this way.

Yeah but he still offered to bless the house, and he assured carbon that he in the congregation would continue to be a source of support for them. But whatever relief carbon felt after father week bliss, the house was a very short lived because apparently hours after the press left the house, he was violently assaulted in her bedroom. In that experience only ended when Kelly burst into the bad german like safety. wow. So after all that had happened in the house, nobody felt comfortable living there anymore, but alan carmon didn't have any money to move like they were stuck there.

That usually the worst thing in this scenario, like I wouldn't stay there and then you like where you going to go.

Actually, they hoped that the blessing would get rid of whatever was attacking them. But IT actually only seemed to make whatever this was the entity angrier and more aggressive. So as SHE sad thinking about what they should do, SHE remembered a magazine that her friend had given her a week or so early here in in there was an article about this connect cut husband, wife team there, really paraNormal experts who specialized in demand cases.

I've never really heard of anybody like now either.

No, yeah. Carmon went to the living room, SHE found the magazine, and SHE flipped the pages until he came to this article about ed in the rain. Warren. He said.

ed in the rain? yeah. Doesn't really. I'm i'm interested to hear about these folks, these newcomer's .

on the scene. Good old. The article said that the warns lived in Martine row, which was just less than an hour away. So carbon, called information, was able to get their number. A boy, he called and lin picked up on the .

first ring.

He said, yellow, it's, it's me. Lovering bore litter.

How SHE inside to know me.

too. So carbon immediately launched into stories so fast and was so much intensity that lin had to ask her to slow down several times. SHE was like, you need to take a breath.

You guys start over. When carman finally got through the story, lyon told her to keep her rosy handy and to use that that evening, if there were any attacks. But the SHE and her husband would be there at that house the very next morning.

Yeah, there. And just as they promised, edlin warn showed up at the house a little after nine am that very next morning. And they interviewed Allen carmon in the living room.

Carmon had worried about how he sounded on the phone the previous afternoon and couldn't help that the warns probably won't believe her. But before SHE could say anything more, I said, we'd like you to know that if we sound as if we doubt what you're saying, that's not the case at all. We just have to be sure, in every way we possibly can be, that the things you tell us about have been brought on by supernatural forces cry.

So his words were a relief talent carmon. They felt like somebody was finally going to help them. Somebody was finally listening, and in late july of one thousand nine hundred and eighty eight, ed, in the rain warm, started their investigation into this family.

haunting. Here we go. We would ultimately last several months, and IT really involved the warrants, living in the house with the family for nine weeks.

that is. So at in the rain code.

they just be a, we stay in for dinner. So nine weeks straight they said, romneys company's omi. I like a little finger gun.

They both of them did finger guns and said .

romney and I said, i'm literally, so what? So we do. We are watching a .

hunting in your right.

We are watching on hunting the other night with miki in days. And there was IT was like another case, like he's snorting IT was like another case and this like person got possessed at a table with added like shoved him back in his chair. But he's like making this fit, like the matter that plays that is making this face like and like he goes and literally so weird we were crying now when I have a picture and more and it's all I think about, yeah, he's literally so random and literally so, but according to random at warn was enough, was demonic in nature. Of course, he said it's very old, very coming and absolutely, without a doubt, very, very evil.

Mean, you know, not just .

overall time. Laurine explained that demon ic investors like the one that the family was experiencing, quote, always occur in a five step, progression, encroachment, infestation, oppression, possession and finally, death. SHE said that somebody probably fill up. I'd either knowingly or unknowingly let the demon into the house. And ever since then, IT had been working to drive the family apart and destroy them.

And real nice. Whoever left the demand in, I know.

but the rain was quick to add that things weren't as dire as they seemed. SHE told that in carmon, we can fight IT, but only with the help of god will we win. Okay, like I would think that god like really busy. yes. I mean.

he's got a lot to so that's .

a little nerve rock. But for more than two years, carbon and al had struggled to understand what was happening in their house. And now they are finally getting some answers, so they were happy. In one one thousand nine hundred eighty eight interview, kerma said, you always think i'm myelin crazy.

Did I imagine all this? But the warns gave them both perspective and reminded them that they weren't alone in common, said, the big problem is whether or not so many people could be crazy. This is asn't happening to one person.

But it's true. SHE was like, this happens all the time. There you go. You I mean, there's a little thing called stereo.

but there is .

that we'll .

put that to the I .

am just here to say that I believe in hunting.

I do too. I very much believe .

in goes not sure about this one.

but so you know just lying at all about just.

you know.

this story we look at from all .

angle crazy story .

about it's not .

bag story and not .

with the bag up.

But in the, in the months flash weeks of their investigation, the warrants, along with their assistance, they always have assistance. Oh.

is, who is eden? Lorraine warns assistant, not now, obviously, but like who is that person?

There's .

multiple .

that person .

that who goes for job, I don't know. I'm not saying it's a bad person. I'm just saying, ly, cool, are you? Yeah, if you were one of the laran .

war stance.

I don't know anything here.

Like all different kinds of people work for them, like even the episode we watching the other night the one the goal of possessed was their assistant .

yeah and he was .

clear volume oh yeah you're remember .

may be people .

like different gifts this time the assistance were john's z office and Christmas kino um and they claimed to have experienced a variety of unpleasant and assault experiences in the house that scary on the first night in the house of me, mechanical laim quote, have suffered burning sensations when they tried to corner their supernatural foo. Oh, I love that and you I so that's a laps .

that's a banger of a big .

supernatural oh yeah. Listen to their supernatural .

flow just being like y if you heard the new supernatural l album.

what would IT I love? I love so much.

You would the first, the first album would be called .

exoplanet. Wo.

you should .

be a tour manager. I like this a lot. But that night, every when they were, you know, facing off their supernatural phone, not the band, the actual phone, and everybody in the household, heavy footsteps, banging noises, they were flicker lites, a tonneraire. In one instance, alle had just fAllen a sleep when he was awoken by a noise in a bright flashing light, and he said, from within the light emerged the dead, decaying face of cheese's Christ that marked him until he told him there was nothing he could do to help.

This is when we really need to start filming these, because I just took a the most judgemental sip of water.

Say, how do you see in the super of .

water I said, I said, clean. He clean, clean. Razee sip.

Because like, what a, what a bitch move, like you just been like nothing you can do about to .

lose her was like the dem was the demand that was not jesus. No Christ, like.

I just picture this like a decaying face of Christ is being like nobody likes you you I wish the .

deep face of jesus looked at Allen said, bu, hr, that's funny. I don't actually wish that, but I don't .

moving forward. That's just there's some widely sentences being spoke during this.

I think that's that's where I have. There are some widely sentences. The sentences spoken during this are off the charge. Imagine having to speak them, the story telling, I love IT well, as the warns on their assistance continue their investigation, the demon ic forces in the house for just grow and stronger, bolder. At one point, I even tried to possess carmon, and I was at that point that ed concluded the only way to confidently get rid of the entities in this house was to have a catholic priest performing exercises brought to you by cathode priest performing .

exercise lets go.

After the attack on carmon, ed made a few calls, allegedly in order to get very alleged in order to get permission from the catholic arch dieses of hartford. Oh.

chick are real.

according to in the rain warn. On september six, nineteen eighty two, roman catholic priest and a deek and arrived at the house and performed to the exercise, which successfully drove the demons out of the home.

The vibes.

so anti climb active.

that was just, they just came and they were like, we did IT, yes, alright, thanks, please. yeah. And this.

it's unclear how what happened, but within a week or two, word of the exercise reached the press, as IT always does, exercise are always onta reached the press.

You can't ever sweep an exercise.

The yeah, what are the things you can count on in life? Death.

death, tax.

taxes. And word of the exercise of reaching the press, three things you can come on in life, truth. So this family and the words were flooded with calls from reporters seeking a comment on the story.

Ed told a reporter, an exercise has been performed in the house, and it's been very successful. But someone going into that house in performing a sions or some type of ritual could bring you back. There is something in that house that is intangible.

It's invisible. IT has the power to inflict physical pain. IT is something that .

is very evil.

Oh yeah.

sounds like a movie.

but sure does. In his initial statement to the press, ed Warren insisted that the ritual was sanctioned by the archdiocese.

Heartful d but I smelled, but I smelled, but common when .

they were contacted for common, a spokesperson for the dieses es refuted those claims. River in john gatzi, I believe IT is said, for what I can gather, there was an exercise performed, and supposedly IT was with the archibong hop's permission, but according tagati, the dassie never received any former request for an exercise, and as far as he knew, none had been performed by any of his people.

I'm pretty sure that eden lin have a couple of those under their belt where they say to contact the of group do but do yeah and then they don't and then something happens and then the church is like.

we didn't do that yeah that happened. And at least one of our others.

I feel like that kind of like, that's like this thing yeah you know, like we all have our thing.

Do we contact .

the arches or no, like you like ash. Love letter d print. Yeah, I love ghost. I love ghost. And at in the rain, warm love to not contact the archidiaconal black bo.

get permission precise in this guy. This reference said no provision has been given, nor is there any intention in the near future to have an exercise performed. Because that I really share the church is like, I mean, at least like the catholic churches. I don't know, like all churches, but i'm pretty sure are they're like not interested in ms anymore .

and pretty sure that yes.

I think got them about that.

But but I definitely but I think it's bad press. Yeah, I don't think they love an exercise.

I don't think so. Eat there. But in late, I was going to say, in late excess, in the late in late september, rather just a week after the exercise of the home, the family moved out of the house.

Although the house was supposedly clear of any demonic activity after the exercise, the trauma that they claim to have endured while living there made IT very difficult to stay. Caron told a reporter, the memories and things that have happened will never feel comfortable in that house again. My children are frightened to the point where they don't want to go to the bathroom alone.

That's so sad, which is sad. That's really sad. So they moved back to new york, and their experiences with the paraNormal seem to come to an end.

But interest in their story only grew in the years that followed the move between one thousand nine hundred eighty eight and one thousand nine hundred and ninety two, several members of the family gave interviews to the press, and they came on. They appeared in unpopular to national talk show. There was, sadly, just see rafael Larry king live, my personal favorite, the mori poverty show. Mi, do you remember when you would stay home from school? You have the Morris water show and like, change the channel when your mom would come.

The ally and Sally juste, rafe is like a glass from the past.

She's the woman, the glasses and glasses. I never watched her joke because I think IT was like before my time I but more poa tony more was IT morally like the governor of somewhere at one point.

I'm pretty sure he was the governor .

of somewhere .

and something like, I don't know. I mean, you could absolutely be right, but I don't .

remember that there's like morning and then there's another good there's one guy that was like the governor or something or like the mayor.

Was he like another talk shows?

Yes, like Jerry springer. Yes, Jerry springer. IT is Jerry spring. He served as one year for me for James springer since and I J.

I didn't know that fact. I can always to watch Jerry spring.

Well, honey, I was not allowed to watch any of this, but I was watching IT.

I was a man wasn't super crazy about like murry, but he wasn't like forbidden. But Jerry springer was forbidden to our house.

My friend shot out to terran once, skipped school. And I think that was jury springer SHE. We had to go to see the jury springer's show about her mom, saw her in the audience and knew that she's ripped school to go. The Cherry mark.

what an experience.

love you to but so yeah, they were doing, like all these talk show appearances and according to carbon, their appearances in the press and on television.

We're going to the on, the on.

SHE said they were motivated by a quote, desire to help others with similar problems and discourage people from doubling in the supernatural. That's entirely possible. But critics and skeptics of this story couldn't help but notice that the media attention, commended in a book about the hunting that was written by ed Warren and hour author ray garden, with the help of the family and those critics may have had a good point, because in a dark place, the true story of a haunting was released in one thousand ninety two, and all the media attention that the story had received up to that point only helped to promote the book.

Look at that in a statement to the reporters, the owner of the house, stereo corn, our guy, dismissed the family's claims, and he said he had never received any complaints about the house, not even from that particular family. Wow, he said they're just trying to make a book on a book as far as i'm concerned. It's a dead issue among more vocal of the santa kers critics where the tenants on the second floor because remember, he doesn't yeah of on in jim suffered and evan's brother Richard, where their neighbors on the second floor and a voice told a reporter, i've been here for two years .

and I haven't seen or heard anything why .

that tell little yeah. In october of one thousand ninety two, the suffered actually appeared along side the neck on Sally justice rafle for an episode titled I was raped by a ghost. Really ninety talk shows went closing.

They went absolutely crazy. They were bonker. You could never get away with the ship they used to get away with. Now in the episode de, the medics talked about, their experience is focusing mostly on the sexual assault, but they said happened after which the efforts were brought on stage to refute their claims. Jim effort said, the most obvious thing for me is the inconsistencies in their story.

I researched with my wife at a close relative of the status, told me there was nothing to IT, that they were making IT up just for the money. wow. And in fact, evan claimed that the entire story was made up after the netcare started having really bad financial trouble.

I wonder.

which is sad of untold. Sally justice raffle, they never had a problem until they ve got behind on the rent. I like that, mean, you don't need to like other Jerry laundry.

Other neighbors soon joined the those who believe that the snatch kers were lying. A friend of phillips, jeff puller, told sale, jussi rafle, that phillip had a history abusing allusions, agent ic drugs. Oh, and that one, a long way to explaining the change in his behavior.

He said, I personally don't think there was anything going on there. He was a story teller. He always had to be center of attention. Similarly, this netteke's neighbor across the street, Katherine altima, kept a journal of all the disruptive events and claimed that many of the loud noises and other claims that the sneakers made could just be explained by traffic, sounds and cars with loud muffle ers.

IT was her opinion that that they had planned this from the moment that they moved in, and even those who had been one supportive of the snedecker, like next door neighbor, or jone mirrable, started to get suspicious. After the story started to spread, SHE said, I don't believe they made the whole thing up, but every time i've been seen Cameron on T. V, the story became more and more involved.

and I just got bigger. yeah. And that's when, you know, yeah.

Among the more suspicious claims of the story, at least as far as locals were concerned, was that they had no idea that how had been the former location of a funeral home like they thought that was more malki. yeah. According to Derek corn, who was the landlord, the snatch kers were told of the house of history before they rented. The funeral home had only shut down two years before they moved in. And at the time that carmon want to look at the apartment, the old sign for the business was still standing in the front yard and could easily be seen from very good.

yeah. Now, while the criticism .

from skeptical neighbors was a prominent future of the book's publication were perhaps none more skeptical of the sneathy's than members of committee for the scientific investigation of claims of the parent Normal or C A psychos.

You know, that's kind of their job.

but that's actually their entire job for those who don't know. But for those who don't know, they're a national group of scientists and industry expert and it's their mission to promote critical thinking in america. I mean that I love that yeah beginning in the mid one thousand seventy csi cop, I don't know that actually they're called, but it's a very fun.

They were very vocal critics of edlin more as they should. And they saw this particular case, poetic case, as part of a pattern where the warrants were just kind of promoting their own agenda yeah the warns had had done something very similarly a decade earlier with the story of George and coffee lots, the family who inspired the mdl horror. And we all know how that will went, which we will be covering the spooky season.

We will, because that is attached to a very real .

and very trade, very tragic C. S. I. Cop members. Joe nickell road, already having helped promote the empty vehicle r in similar west pits in pennsylvanian nightmare, the warns continued their motors Operandi. I arrived at a quote of a haunted house and transforming the case into a quote and quote.

demonic one when you know, claiming that they contact the archidiaconal place and not doing that is that's a pattern of vy.

You can forget that yeah don't forget that that's their thing. yes. Joe was one of the many skeptics who spoke up publicly against the family, including appearing along side them on Sally justice rafle and the Morrison verage show not off. I love that everybody was like just a beef. And on television.

daytime television, like go beef.

And while everybody's at work, yes, but like several other other critics, he pointed out the many inconsistently in the family story, including the fact that contrary, how had had been presented in the press, the family did not actually move from the house voluntarily. Nickle road, long before the salary show, the settings land lady had served them within a victim, tice, for fAiling to pay their rent, which is very sad. He also pointed to several other facts about the family that were not mentioned in the book or in their many television in media appearance appearances, including the sexual assault legations al history of alcoholism and a very long history of just disfunction in you yeah and sound .

like noted .

that perhaps most telling was that many years after its publication, Edwards co. Auther on in a dark place, ray garden, he repudiated the book and the warns.

which is not, ah i'm like join the long.

the long line of people. Yeah, not a great thing for the story. No, definitely not. He quoted the gardens, not the garden, he quoted garden as saying the family involved, which was going through some serious problems like alcoholism and drug addiction, could not keep their story straight. And I became very frustrated.

It's hard writing a nonfiction book when all the people involved are telling you different stories. Very sad, sad. It's kind of sad all the way through. And then he gets like realistically sad in the know. Yeah in one thousand nine hundred and ninety three, after the release of in a dark place, had made them uh, very controversial stars yeah alan carmon moved to move their family to tennessee, took kind of like quiet down a little, but carmon's family lived out there. But despite the controversy surrounding the story, in the large number of skeptics and critics, the book actually sold really wealth for the first couple of years.

And in the mid two thousands, members of the family appeared in a feature length docu drama for the discovery channel entitled a haunting in connect cut that remember that the family, they told their story IT was dramatically zed with interviews and paid actors. And then in two thousand and nine, that the story would surface again at this time as the source material, four of the hunting and connective, which is a mostly fictionalized version of what they say actually happened. Artistic license? Yes, yes. Since the release of the hunting and connective, members of the selected or family have tried to stay out of the spotlight, and in the decades that followed, phillips cancer remained in remission, but in late two thousand and eleven, his cancer returned and he passed away on january seventh twenty twelve, at the age of thirty eight.

yeah.

And that is the end of the sneaker family hunting A K A, the hunting in connect caw. It's a story that's truly widely store and any time and involves that in the rain I say, sign me up because .

you know, it's gonna be co, not spinanes it's gonna take you into another realm yeah and we all just looking for that. We're always looking for the rain are such like fascinating creatures like they're such a fascinating case study. They are unlike, you know, scams that I think also believe some of the stuff that they pedal.

That's the thing because I believe I definitely believe that they were like scare people ah, but I don't believe that I think that I think they believe some of their should I think they believe .

some of I don't .

believe they were one hundred .

percent scheme yes, I really do believe that they they at least believed .

some of IT yeah and I think I think I got bigger than them and they I .

think they just roll with that. And they saw what was working for them and they saw of the dollar signs and they yeah they turned IT into what IT shouldn't yeah but that's what I think. They're fascine people, I agree, fascinating creatures that in in the and so enough.

literally so render.

with such a serious pattern of behavior, truly large. Dieses of at all, you know, the arch dieses of IT all .

is just a great way to rap up there. A really that is.

it's a great like like two truths in a alive for them. You like that one of their truths are lives can be like, I always do. You say I call the archidiaconal, I never do.

or I always call the archidiaconal. Maybe that's the truth .

and maybe it's the lie. Who know we is the one .

Willy bitters. They're crazy. Well, we will be .

gable list and we hope you but that you don't .

actually call the architects going to call because you call the, you lie about IT theyll get mad.

Yeah just do IT if you say you're going to do IT.

I just kind of like .

to say arch dieses gold hello.

it's out the.
