香港特首：“歧视旅客”事件不容再发生！

Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee said the disrespectful words and deeds made by Cathy Pacific Group cabin crew members toward mainland passengers undermined【故意破坏（某人）的形象】the city's values of respect and courtesy【礼貌】, and urged the airline to thoroughly review its internal process and prevent similar events from happening again. Zhang Hong brings us the details.

香港特首李家超表示，国泰航空公司机组成员对内地乘客的不敬言行破坏了香港一贯的尊重、有礼的价值观，并敦促航空公司彻底审查其内部程序，防止类似事件再次发生。记者张泓带来详细报道。

Lee said although the crew members involved have been fired, similar incidents must not be allowed to occur in the future, adding Hong Kong's image of being respectful and courteous to visitors needs to be restored.

李家超表示，虽然涉事机组人员已经被解聘，但类似情况不容再次发生，并表示要重塑香港尊重有礼的好客形象。

“The disrespectful words and deeds made by Cathay Pacific Group cabin crew members toward mainland passengers hurt the feelings of Hong Kong and Chinese mainland people, undermining the city's consistent values of respect and courtesy. I feel disappointed that the deeds happened on a flight of an airline company based in Hong Kong.”

In a viral online post, a passenger detailed how three flight attendants repeatedly complained in English and Cantonese about passengers who didn't speak English well on a recent Cathay Pacific flight.

在网上的一个热门帖子中，一位乘客详细描述了最近在国泰航班上，三名机组人员如何反复用英语和粤语抱怨那些英文不太好的乘客。

Hong Kong's Transport and Logistics Bureau has required a review of the company to be completed as soon as possible and fundamental improvements to be made to the company's mechanisms and attitudes of its employees.

Cathay Pacific was founded in 1946 with its headquarters in Hong Kong. It is the first Asian carrier in Hong Kong to offer civil aviation services.

Xie Feng, the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to the United States, arrived in Washington D.C. yesterday to assume【就职】his new post. He urged Washington to work with China to enhance dialogue, manage differences and promote cooperation, in order to bring China-U.S. relations back on the right track. Tang Xiaofan has the story.

五月二十三日，中国新任驻美大使谢锋抵美履新。他敦促美国与中方共同努力，加强对话、管控分歧、推进合作，使中美关系回归正轨。记者唐晓帆带来详细报道。

Xie stressed that the United States should properly handle“important and sensitive” issues, such as the Taiwan question, in accordance【依照】with the principles in the three China-US joint communiqués.

Speaking to Chinese and US media at the Chinese embassy in Washington,D.C., Xie acknowledged that his appointment comes at a critical moment as the China-US relationship has once again come to a historical crossroads.

谢锋在华盛顿特区中国大使馆接受中美媒体采访时表示，他的出任恰逢中美国关系再次站在历史十字路口的关键时刻。

“A sound and stable China-US relationship is in the interest of both countries. It is also a shared expectation of the international community and a major contribution to world peace and prosperity.”

Xie noted that China and the United States should keep pace with the trend of the times and reject a Cold War mentality and zero-sum game.Instead, they should move forward in the same direction. He said the two sides should take concrete actions to deliver on the common understanding between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Joe Biden, and explore the right way to get along with each other in the new era.

谢锋指出，中美两国应该顺应时代潮流，摒弃冷战思维和零和博弈，敞开胸襟，相向而行，以实际行动落实习近平主席和拜登总统达成的重要共识，探索新时期中美正确相处之道。

3.TIKTOK FILES LAWSUIT AGAINST MONTANA OVER STATE BAN

TikTok起诉美国蒙大拿州禁令违法

TikTok filed a lawsuit on Monday, against the western U.S. state of Montana, seeking to overturn the governor's state's ban on the video-sharing app. Zhang Hong has the story.

本周一，TikTok在美国蒙大拿州提起诉讼，要求法院推翻禁止在该州区域内下载TikTok软件的法令。记者张泓带来详细报道。

TikTok argues the ban, which would take effect on January 1 of next year, violates the First Amendment【修正】rights of the company and the app's users.

这一禁令计划于明年1月1日生效。TikTok表示，这项禁令侵犯了宪法第一修正案赋予该公司和TikTok用户的权利。

The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Montana, also argues that the ban is pre-empted by federal law because it intrudes upon matters of exclusive federal concern, and violates the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution, which limits the authority of states to enact legislation that unduly burdens interstate and foreign commerce.

TikTok在蒙大拿州联邦地方法院提起了这项诉讼，称该禁令抢用了联邦法律的权限，因为它侵犯了联邦法律独有的关切事项，违反了美国宪法的商业条款，该条款限制了各州颁布对州际和对外贸易造成过重负担的法案的权力。

The lawsuit also stated that Montana has enacted some extraordinary and unprecedented measures based on nothing more than unfounded speculation.

TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew said on Tuesday that Montana's ban onthe app was unconstitutional, and he was confident that the company will prevail in a lawsuit challenging the decision.

“The Chinese government has actually never asked us for U.S. user data and we will not provide even if asked.Today, by default, all U.S. data is stored in the Oracle cloud service already.”

The move came after Montana Governor Greg Gianforte signed Senate Bill 419 last week, making Montana the first American state to prohibit the downloading of the app.

China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Tuesday that the United States has yet to provide any evidence to prove that TikTok is a threat to its national security, but it has been suppressing the company based on presumption of guilt. Mao noted that this is a hegemonic【霸权的】and bullying act of over-stretching the concept of national security and abusing state power to keep foreign companies down.
