There she goes, Miss America. There she is. What a fabulous clap to start this episode. It really was incredible. We try not to talk about the clap constantly because we want to reinvent ourselves and keep our listener on their toes. But I think what they want to hear right now is patriots, gay-triots, they-triots. Caw-caw!
That's right. All right, Pumps, what have you had it with? Okay, what I've had it with is this new phenomenon on my iPhone where I get a spam call or a political call. Instead of accept decline, I get answer or go to voicemail. What the fuck? I just...
I just like the more defined choice of decline. I don't want to encourage them to leave a voice memo or a voicemail. I want them fucking gone immediately. It rings longer. It gives them an immediate access to my voicemail. I've had it. Why does Apple keep fucking with us? We get into a rhythm. You do the update. Everything changes. So when you decline, it sends it to voicemail.
But anyway, right. It stops it immediately. Like you hit decline. It's over. It never happened. When you hit go to voicemail, it rings through another ring and then you and then it goes to voicemail. But I'm like, why can't we just decline it? Why do we have to give them an option? I think that maybe the decline and send a voicemail is the same thing. But you have it rings longer.
I haven't experienced this. No, I hate it. It's happening all the time. And I just, I liked my choices. Accept, decline, that's it. It's always tricky and difficult for people at your age when Apple sends an update. It is. It's really, I think a lot of elderly people really struggle with Apple updates. Listener, she's flipping me off. But you know what? That is her hashtag love language. That's right. All right. Let me tell you what I've had it with. It's very similar.
to yours. I've had it when I'm in the middle of an app using the app and then it pops up
would you like to rate this app? Oh my gosh. I'm like, well, I want to give it a one-star rating right now because I don't like solicitations. Right. And I've already paid for the app. I've paid for it. I've downloaded it into my phone. If I want to rate and review you, that will be my idea on my time, on my terms. Don't ruin my experience in your app by popping up the
How was your experience? Please send us a review. And I would like to remind our listener right now, please rate and review. I've had it podcast on the Apple and Spotify platforms. Please pause the podcast right now and rate and review.
That's what I love about this podcast is hypocrisy about petty grievances goes both ways, but we own it. That's right. Welcome to I've Had It. I'm Jennifer. I'm Angie. She is America's legal eagle, America's greatest legal mind, and so many other things from America's greatest penile shamer to America's oldest podcaster. That is true. To me, Ma Drag. How old is Joe Rogan?
You older than Joe? Oh, absolutely. He's got little kids, I think. Well, all right. All right. Kylie. Kathy. Joe Rogan's 57. Oh. See? See, this is the thing. He has little kids because men skirt the system. That's right. That's right. They can have kids up into their 70s and 80s. Women, there's a clock. That's right. All right. I've got some reviews. This one is five stars titled America's Favorite Lesbians.
And Avery writes, this is an amazing podcast about LGBTQIA plus inclusion. The star of the show, Meemaw Spam, and her wife, I forgot the wife's name, are hilarious. This is a family full of inclusion as their daughter, Kathy, is also a lesbian. My favorite episodes are when the couple's gay friend, Josh, comes on the show and teaches us about manscaping. Okay, this one is five stars for me.
That's a great review. I love that. That's a common theme among our reviews. This one's five stars. Finally, a podcast I can listen to. Not only do I not use this podcast as melatonin, but after I listen, I will watch it on YouTube with my husband a second time. I will laugh it all the right times with my Academy Award winning acting so that he believes my fervent lies that I have not listened to the podcast without him. Okay.
I love that. That's really sweet. You know what else I like about that? I hear all the time couples saying, well, we're watching this together, so I have to wait for the other person. And I'm like, can't you just lie and say you didn't watch it before if you want to watch it again? But that's so funny that she's saying, oh, no, I haven't watched it because I hear that all the time from people, that they don't want to watch it without their spouse or their partner. But see, here's the thing I've been thinking about. When it comes to you and me,
I think there was a time that we were hopeful like that. Oh, I do too. And we poo-poo it all the time now on the podcast because we're old, cynical hags. And we learned the hard way. As many people in the comment section have pointed out to us. So. Cows, hags. Listen up, listener. If you're still excited to watch a show with your significant other, good on you. Good for you. Enjoy it while it lasts. Right.
Dark days are ahead. Enjoy it while it lasts because one day you'll be sitting next to said significant other and they will breathe a particular way or shift positions a particular way and it will literally be like fingernails on a chalkboard. And you will think...
Why am I here? Why? What are the life choices that brought me to this place on this sofa watching this show? Absolutely. Been there, done that. All right. I have some things from the news I'd like to review. Okay. A dad...
Let me read to you the highlights from this. Taking to Reddit, he said...
My wife and I are parents to a just turned three-year-old boy. He is and will very likely continue to be an only child. As his parents, we are obviously biased, but we are aware of that bias and try to be as objective as possible. It doesn't do him or the outside world any good if we coddle, shelter, helicopter, or overly favor him.
At preschool on Monday, the youngster became frustrated when he spit his lunch all over the table. When his teacher asked him to clean it up, he responded with, no, you clean it up, bitch. The dad added, when the other teacher asked what he said, the toddler repeated it.
The dad goes on to say, the teachers told us about it, indicated it was very out of character for him, and we were very apologetic to both teachers. We talked to him about using bad words, about impulse and mood control in general. His mood improved to its normal condition, and the rest of the week was incident-free. However, two days after the incident, the teachers asked us to prepare a letter to them saying,
and the administration apologizing for teaching our child the B word.
Believing he had heard the word being thrown around at home, the teacher ordered the dad to send in a letter apologizing for their son's outburst. However, he claims the teacher is trying to shame him as being a bad father and claims his apology in person is enough. The dad goes on to say, the school followed up today asking for the apology letter, but I don't feel like we owe it to them.
Okay, here's what I have to say about that. They apologized in person. Why would they need a written apology? Like get over it. Little kids say shit. Yes. I mean, your kids just say shit. And who's to say where they heard it?
If my kid had done it, they would have known immediately that it came from me. These parents seem like they probably don't say it or they would just, I mean, hopefully they just admit it. But I just think they're making a mountain out of a molehill. I mean, I do think the kid should be punished. The kid should have to apologize. All the punishment should go to the kid, whatever is appropriate at three. But making the parents write a written apology after they've already apologized, fucking grow up, teachers. Who cares? Get over it.
So I remember one time when my kids were probably four and seven and Dylan and Roman were in the back seat and they were in their car seats because they were still had, you know, like a seven year old had probably like a booster type situation. Roman had a toddler and they were bickering back there and I could see them in my rear view mirror. And Dylan, the older one was trolling Roman, the younger one, and Roman had had it. And he goes, Dylan, stop being a little bitch.
And I am like clenching the steering wheel, trying so hard to prevent myself from laughing because number one, he used it perfectly. And of course, Dylan's mouth like just pops open. He's like, mom, what are you going to do? What are you going to do? Are you going to punish him? And I am like, Roman, you cannot call your brother the B word. That is inappropriate. But it's just like at the end of the day, it's like, is it a punishment or is it we don't
Don't say those things because they're learning. And I think the school is being overly dramatic. Overly dramatic. The parents apologized profusely. But here's what happened. These teachers started gossiping amongst themselves and saying, well, this child has learned it from somewhere. And it has to be. I bet the dad calls the mom a bitch. Right. And they're creating some conspiracy theory where when anybody has been around toddlers—
They say stupid shit. They do stupid shit. It's like being around a drunk person. Right. Toddlers are like dry drunks. They throw up. They tell you they love you. They kiss you. And then they bite you all within 2.5 seconds and then stumble and fall down after they get up from hugging and kissing you. So this drama over this child's behavior is ridiculous because I just –
I mean, first and foremost, I thought the three-year-old executed the delivery of that. Right. No, you clean it up, bitch. And then when asked, what did you just say? Executed it again really well. So like I remember when Roman called his big brother a little bitch. I was kind of impressed. Right. I of course said, Roman, you can't call your brother a bitch, et cetera. We laugh about it now all the time. And they're like, mom, how did you keep a straight face? And I was like, I was dying.
dying. Like I had to turn my mirror up so they didn't see how hard I was laughing. But anyway. Yeah. When my kids were little and they would cuss, that amused me so much. I just, it was hard for me to turn around and be like, that is inappropriate. I mean, I did it, but I just felt like they knew it was just half-hearted. Right. I mean, they knew that secretly somewhere inside, I was like, good for fucking you. I mean, obviously kids shouldn't cuss. Right. But in general-
I think there is this Puritan culture that acts so outraged at cussing. They act like, oh, I've had it podcast. Those women use the F word. Oh, my God. But you never see these people that are so outraged by cussing, outraged by human rights violations. Right.
It's just, it is such performative bullshit when people act so outraged by Kessing. When I think it was Susie from Curb Your Enthusiasm that we had on the podcast several months ago. Love her.
It's the intent. When somebody says, I play pickleball with a lady and she always says, oh, shoot a monkey. I'm like, just go ahead and say motherfucker. Now you sound stupid. Yeah, because I know what your intent is. Right. You're going so far out of your way to not cuss that you look like an idiot. And here's the deal. And you have no street swag. None. And I was going to say, you personally feel better. Like sometimes I just feel better when I'm just like me. Yeah. Like I feel better.
100%. So if I had shoot a monkey, I'd feel like a dipshit. Oh, my stars. Oh, my goodness gracious. Fuck off. Fucking grow up and cuss like a real person. That's right. For fuck's sake. I've had it. For fuck's sake. I mean, I have had it.
Had it with the faux outrage over cussing. When I play tennis, it is a cuss fest extraordinaire and it makes me feel fantastic. I cuss out my instructor. I cuss out myself. If I hit the net, I'm like, you fucking suck at tennis, Jennifer. Pull yourself together.
And if the instructor hits a winner, I'm like, you're such a fucking asshole, Jeff. Yeah. And it makes us both feel good. And we giggle and we laugh. And I just also I want to throw this out there. Y'all can Google this. Scientists have studied cussing and they have found that cussing is a sign of intelligence.
Oh, my gosh. We are like genius. Genius level, then. Genius level. Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep. Yeah. Really? I didn't know that. So here's the deal. I'm pro three-year-old that told his teacher, no, you clean it up, bitch. Because here's what's going to happen. In about 10, 12 years, they're going to die laughing with their kid like I do with Dylan and Roman. Yeah.
Because now we joke around, like if they're bickering now, I'm like, oh, is Dylan being a little bitch? Or is Roman being a little bitch? Because they're 18 and 21. And so these are temporary things that people do. And to all of the listeners and the people out there that get so butthurt, over cussing, grow the fuck up.
and get over it and quit being such a Puritan, modest, ridiculous, uptight, wound up like a cheap clock person that clutches their pearls nonstop, 24-7. Nobody likes you. We asked everybody before we started the podcast. We asked everybody. Did you find anybody that liked them? No, not one. Everybody hates you. That's right. Oh, God. That is not a good lead up because we have a very serious guest today. We do. We do.
We have a very serious guest, and I really like this person a lot. And I think our listeners are very much going to like her. And I would like to apologize to the governor of the Empire State, Kathy Hochul, for our cussing in the intro, because we do believe there is a time and a place. Right. And for the second half of this podcast, we will refrain from cussing because we are professionals. We're going to be best behavior bitches. Right.
All right. Let's welcome the 57th governor of New York, New York's first female governor, Kathy Hochul. Listener, this may come as a total shock to you, but Pumps and I have not always been this pulled together and rock solid.
In fact, we used to be rather screwed up when you say pumps. I would say damn near psychotic. Totally. And we have written a cell phone expose. One could even say it's a manifesto. And the book title is...
Life is a lazy Susan of shit sandwiches. In all sincerity, we share a lot of our struggles that led us to this grand stage where we can talk about petty grievances. You can click the link below in the show notes to pre-order your copy now.
Pumps have the best news imaginable. You know, we have been bundled up in our Quince cashmere sweaters at the beginning of this fall. Guess what they have now? New bedding from Quince. It keeps me extra warm and extra comfy.

You know, Pumps, when I think about SKIMS, which we love, and I think about what a big company it's become and how much they've grown, I wonder how they make it all run so smoothly. And what it is is Shopify. Shopify is the business behind the business. What's great about Shopify is your business can be big or small, and they take the overwhelming part of merchandise sales and make it easy.
That's exactly right, because nobody does selling better than Shopify, home of the number one checkout on the planet and the not so secret with shop pay that boasts conversions up to 50%, meaning way less carts going abandoned.
and way more sales going cha-ching. So if you're into growing your business, your commerce platform better be ready to sell wherever your customers are scrolling or strolling on the web, in your store, in their feed, and everywhere in between. Listeners, upgrade your business and get the same checkout as Skims.

All right, let's welcome New York's first female governor, Kathy Hochul. Governor, how are you today? Doing great. I'm a little...
I'm preoccupied because there's someone working outside my window here at my apartment in Manhattan, and there might be a guy that's swinging back and forth. So don't be disturbed. I'm sure my security details are onto this guy, but there might be somebody who pops in who's like cleaning windows or something. So that's all I'm focused on right now is this guy going to be in our shot or not. Well, I would like to welcome you to I've Had It. Before we started recording, you were saying that podcasts are kind of new for you. And it seems like lately that kind of
is where politicians are heading because you reach right into the earbuds of the listener. So welcome. Thank you. I've been listening to podcasts for a long time, but for people that you actually want to have politicians on, that's your call. Well, we're happy to participate. Well, we like to start off by saying, what have you had it with? How much time do we have? Yeah.
But let me say this in a unique position, first woman governor, first of many, all the career steps I've had elected of office. I've had it with people who don't think that women have what it takes to be strong enough to run governments and whether it's something that Kamala Harris has to deal with and people's perception is.
or what I've had to overcome here in the state of New York. And so I want to get to a point where I don't have to be had up, you know, have had it with them and just say, listen, we know what we're doing. You know, we've been through a lot of challenges. We have the strength. People think that, oh, women are too emotional.
I've seen men have more meltdowns than women in government and men who can't handle the stress and kind of head into a dark place. And women just are hardwired to solve problems, keep calm if it's the storm. And maybe that comes from raising kids and teenagers as well, because we've had to be that person. So these are actually strengths, not negatives. And I think I'd be happy if more people recognize that.
I completely agree. We talked a lot during the Senate confirmations for the judiciary. Everybody's talking about a woman's too emotional. Katonji Brown Jackson, she took shot after shot after shot. She was calm. She was thoughtful, intelligent.
Then you have Brett Kavanaugh, who was snot slinging like a little tiny baby. And I was just like, yes, women are too emotional. Cut me a break. I agree with you 100%. And I think oftentimes both men and women, men from a misogynist standpoint and sometimes women from an internalized misogynist standpoint, they're
have a default setting to diminish women. And we have to contrast that and offer the split screen that I haven't seen a female politician cap lock tweeting or truth socialing in a death spiral at 2 and 3 a.m. And if a woman did such a thing,
her political career would be over. It would be immediately, immediately disqualifying. No questions asked. But I do. Absolutely right. Absolutely right. I do want to tell you on a personal level, my son is a senior at the Newhouse School of Journalism at Syracuse University. Ah, well, that's.
That's outstanding. And does he need an internship or a job when he gets out? You give me a call because that's a great school. And I was very close. I was in the Maxwell political science wing of Syracuse University. But we always were taking on issues together with our friends on the local newspaper, the Daily Orange and working with the people in communication. And so a great school. I so enjoyed I get back there as often as I can. So he's going to do well in life.
Thank you. Okay. So one thing, talking about universities, we live in Oklahoma, so we have a Republican supermajority, which means we're last in education, last for a good state for women to live. And recently, our governor has stepped into the university level revoking DEI protections. Okay.
Now, the president of our universities are saying we're having a hard time getting professors to come here because it's such a backward ass way of thinking. So what do you see as the role of a governor in public universities?
Well, I don't think there should be a role that the universities want to have that as a policy. And they should, because we are trying to educate our young people with the diversity of opinions and perspectives and be taught by people with different backgrounds. That's how we have a
a more enlightened electorate ultimately, which is what we're striving for. And so governors should poke their nose right in the issues that they have control over, like make sure there's no potholes on the roads, make sure that there's good social programs, take care of fighting crime and other issues that are perplexing. We have enough on our plates. Don't be...
putting yourself into a situation just to score political points with your probably mega base on something like that that has been working. So that's my position. We have enough to deal with. Don't be looking for some culture wars just to elevate your own positions. Sounds to me like...
the governor, who is a Democrat, and Democrats are often confused as being big government, is advocating for minding your own business and sticking to the needs of the people in a more limited role and not intervening in wedge issues like that. So I really thank you for that because...
It is problematic when a university is intervened like that by the state government. And it's embarrassing to live in a state where you see that in the headlines. And then the president of the University of Oklahoma is saying, this is not good for this school. This is not good for our brand.
No. Keep your nose out of the universities when it comes to their policies that they're using to attract and educate students in a certain way and have a certain caliber of professors. Keep your nose out of our lives when it comes to reproductive freedoms. I mean, it's interesting that historically people thought the Democrats were guilty of overreach. We want to, you know, the nanny state, we want to do everything. I'm seeing something exactly the opposite, where Republicans cannot wait
to be telling us how to run our lives, what to do, what books our kids can read, whether or not we can have reproductive freedom, something that we enjoyed. At least my generation had the benefit of my mother's generation's fight. And my daughter, who's a little bit older than your son, does not have those rights now. So it's fascinating that people have a stereotypical view of both parties.
and Republicans with their overreach have just thrown it out the window. Like, we don't mind being the ones that are telling you how to live your lives. I think more Americans understood what's at the core of their philosophy now, domineering, patroness, misogynistic toward women in everything they do. Maybe more of them would come our way and understand that, no, we're just trying to get stuff done for people and not be involved in their daily lives.
Well, I want to shift gears here and talk to you about, you spoke about your daughter, and I think we all raised kids around the same time period. And when they were really little, we didn't have smartphones. We had like a flip phone. But as we're raising our kids,
income smartphones. And then you have this opportunity where you can reach your child and you can track your child, which solves the problem of safety and knowing where your child is. But it seems like we weren't really prepared as to what we were handing our children when we gave them smartphones.
And it seems like you have been leading the nation in legislation on this. And we know that Gen Z is suffering debilitating levels of anxiety that our generation hasn't suffered from. I'm so glad you brought this up because a lot of it has to do with the rise in social media algorithms that are designed to be intentionally addictive, that pull in our kids based on the preferences that they have.
demonstrated where they're searching and who they're talking to, it's setting up algorithms that are addictive, it's holding them captive, and they cannot escape. And whether it's all night long, like my nieces are exhausted during the day because they think they need to be on talking to people all over their networks, but also around the world with different time zones, it's crazy, but
What's happening during the school hours is that, number one, teachers are beyond frustrated because they're now in competition with a young person who's not even making eye contact with them and learning and pretending to learn. They're just using their devices all day long.
It's also keeping them in a place that can be dark. It can be a place for bullying. It is a place where girls have told me they have to be on all day because someone might be mocking them out or talking about them and they have to respond or teasing them about the clothes they're wearing or not inviting them to a party. It was so disheartening to hear what kids are going through that we never had to go through, that my kids were a little bit too old to have to deal with, thank God.
But if we don't do something as adults about this, then we are being negligent and irresponsible. And that's why we have the toughest laws in the nation to tell social media companies you cannot use addictive algorithms with our kids. You cannot bombard anyone after 18 without permission of the parents. You cannot be sending messages to them through the nighttime hours. Our kids need sleep.
and other restrictions on what they're doing with the data they're collecting, they're profiting off our kids' mental health, monetizing mental health.
And they're selling information about your children. So this all has to stop. It has gone on too far, by the way. I wish others before me had stepped up and challenged this. But hey, taking on big tech is not the easiest thing to do. And we are a tech state. We welcome them. But they're also parents. These executives are also parents. And they know what their product has done to a whole generation. And we need them to help solve this as well. I couldn't agree more. I agree.
Just found out that New York, you're also a leader on common sense gun legislation. In our state, it's open carry. Bring your gun if you've got it to Walmart. Go into the Circle K with a gun. So how have you dealt with that in your state? Aggressively, very aggressively and aggressively.
I did an event yesterday at the Javits Center in Manhattan. Gabby Giffords was our special guest, still recovering from the wounds she sustained at Tucson back in 2011, the year I first became a member of Congress. And she wasn't there when I showed up because she was healing from her wounds. It's been a long journey for her. But her voice and all the advocates, the hundreds of people we gathered, the people
So victims themselves, people still recovering from gunshot wounds, families that are left torn apart because a loved one is no longer with them, mostly as a result of street violence. And also people who came from places where there had been mass shootings like Buffalo, New York, my hometown.
where 10 people were slaughtered by an 18-year-old white supremacist who got a gun on his birthday and drove three hours to slaughter people because of the color of their skin. And those are his words. So we had this gathering. It was powerful. It reminded me that governors have it within their control to do what's right. We can wait forever.
for Congress to pass another assault weapon ban or to require universal background checks. They should be doing all this without a doubt. But until then, the governors can be taking strong actions. Red flag laws.
What are red flag laws? It gives law enforcement the ability when someone is acting like they could do harm to themselves or others. Some posts are doing, some message leaves, something they've said. You want to make sure those people who could be harmful to themselves do not have access to guns. I changed the law so it's not just law enforcement. It is parents. It is a teacher. It is an educator. It is a mental health therapist. To raise the red
And as a result, we have had a 1300% increase in these orders of protection and have issued gone up from 1400 to 22,000. To me, every one of them represents the way we prevented a tragedy from happening. Concealed carry. New York state had a law in the books for 100 years that said the governor of New York had the power to protect her citizens and say,
No concealed carry is allowed, except unless you're licensed. There's some exceptions, security guards, et cetera. Supreme Court struck it down. I was brand new governor. Supreme Court struck it down, said I don't have that right anymore to protect my citizens. We fought back. And as I worked on our legislature, now new legislation that says we can allow them in sensitive places. Right.
You can have a ban in sensitive places. We have defined sensitive places as everywhere I could think of. So our ban is the streets, churches, synagogues, subway stations, schools. I even said Times Square. To me, it's a sensitive place because a lot of people coming, there's big crowds. So we're doing the best we can against this hostile Supreme Court. But I'm going to keep fighting it. I'm going to keep fighting it and everything we can do because our...
rate of mortality from guns is the third lowest in the nation.
We have driven down homicides dramatically in every state. And those run by governors, you can detect the statistics, have the highest rates of death by gun violence. There's a direct correlation literally between whether it's a Democrat or Republican running your state because the Democrats are the ones that are out there making sure that, yes, you can legally own a gun. The Second Amendment still exists in the state of New York. We respect that.
But there are common sense restrictions that even gun owners would admit, yes, there should be background checks. We should know if this person is posting on social media that they want to slaughter people in a local school before we allow them to have a gun. How about something like that? Because it's not just Democratic kids who are getting killed in schools or on the streets. It's also Republican kids, and they need to wake up to that fact.

Okay, Governor, now we're going to play our world famous game called Had It or Hit It. Oh my God. Welcome to Had It or Hit It. I would hit it. Had it. I hit it every day, sometimes twice a day.
Okay. Governor, hat it or hit it, tourists. Hat, I love them. What's the word? Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. We love tourists. We love tourists. Come to New York. Yes. I mean, New York City, I think, is the greatest American city. We go often for work and just absolutely love the diversity. And you know what is so interesting? Angie and I talk about this a lot.
The people in our state, the kind of like MAGA Republicans will be like, we're for freedom. In Oklahoma, we're free. No place on the planet do you feel freedom more than walking the streets of New York City. The freedom of expression, the languages being spoken, the attitude, all of it, it just resonates and rings freedom, in my opinion. I walk the streets of New York all the time because I feel exactly what you're talking about. I believe
Believe it or not, I can put on a baseball hat and a ponytail and sunglasses and a pair of jeans and sneakers, and people don't know it's me walking to the streets. So I buzz around all the time, and I see the tourists, and I absorb the energy and excitement that is out there in our city and across our state. And to me, it's invigorating. And so we welcome all tourists. Come, come, come. Okay. Hat it or hit it, group chats.
I would say this is a tough one, depending what we're chatting about. Sometimes they just go on forever and ever and ever. But I would say hit it. We still need to have them. I do get a lot of information from them and people do give me their opinions, which I need to hear. So we'll hit that one. Okay. Had it or hit it.
When a meeting could have been an email. Oh, had it with that. Got it. Yeah. Shut down those long meetings. Shut down the long meetings. Agree. Okay. Had it or hid it, the Buffalo Bills. Oh, you need to ask. I love the Buffalo Bills. I hid it all out of the park. I love the Buffalo Bills. And I'll tell you what.
Buffalo Bills have been around since the 1960s. They're a small market team and the fans are rabbit fans, all of us are. And we've never won a Super Bowl. And I have such an affinity with people because I come out of a steel town. My dad worked at the steel plant and my parents used to live in a trailer park before they did better. So it's a grittier town, at least it was when I was growing up. It's now very tech-oriented, very sophisticated. But growing up,
There's a sense for an underdog, right? And as a community, you feel like people are always picking on you. We have too much snow. The bills can't win us too well. But it binds you together. And so there's this spirit that is transformative when you walk into a... I would tell you this. The apartment I picked here in New York,
On the corner is a Buffalo Bills sports bar. That was an important test for me. And I love the Giants and Jets. Glad I love all my teams. But I'm from Buffalo. People understand. So I can walk there, watch a game late at night, you know, until Monday night football, Sunday night football, go to games when I can. So it creates a sense of community, which is powerful. And I love that.
You know, I always think this when I see Buffalo Bills fans and you were watching. My dad was a big Dallas Cowboys fan. And so I'd watch football with him growing up and I would see the games in Buffalo and I would see the snow. And I would see the snow.
And I would think these people really love that team. Right. And Angie and I years ago used to smoke cigarettes. And then when it was really cold, we'd go outside bundled up and I'd go, you know, we really want this. I mean, we've quit. It's been over a decade since we quit. Congratulations. Thank you. But I always think the Buffalo Bills, they want it. They really want that. They do. There is that grit there. Okay. Okay.
Last one, had it or hid it, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.
Hit it. Hit it up. That's our next president and vice president. So I'm excited about them. Tim Walz and I served in Congress together. And I'll tell you a quick story. He represented the most Republican district in his state, and I represent the most Republican in the state of New York. So you're not always sure you're going to go back after your election. Maybe it was a fluke. Maybe you're going to lose the next time. So there's this one floor in the Longworth House Office building, which
which has the crappiest, smallest, oldest offices. They put the people who I would say are the endangered species members of Congress all together, like packed together. Like you can have this lousy real estate cause you're probably not coming back. Um,
I didn't go back because I support the Affordable Care Act and I'll, that's fine. I'm okay with that. I'm doing all right since then. Tim was also on the same floor. So I got to know him in Congress. And then both of us as governors, he's been the head of our governor's association. So there's a special affinity that governors have because, you know, it's senators, congressmen, that's all great, but basically,
the buck stops with you. Anything that happens in your state, people are looking to you for leadership or to solve problems and you are the point person. So I know he has what it takes and Kamala
Yes, vice president for almost four years. But don't forget the fact that it is not easy to run for district attorney in a major American city. It is not easy to run for attorney general or U.S. senator in the largest state in America. And she did all that. So let's give her more credit for the lifetime of experiences she brings to this and not to say, oh, did she agree with Biden or not agree with Biden? That doesn't matter. We're getting the whole package here. And
And they're going to be incredibly successful. We're vested in their victory on election night. And I'm so excited about this election. It's going to be transformative for our nation. I hope so. I completely agree. And I cannot tell you what a pleasure it has been.
To meet you, you exceed all expectations. And thank you for all of the work you do in New York. And our listeners know this because we have a lot of blue dots peppered all over red states that listen to us.
And when your own local government disappoints you, you look to other states and you go, oh, okay, I'm not alone. So your message does resonate far beyond the borders of New York. And we thank you so much for your leadership and hope that you inspire so many more women to seek the executive office because I agree with you, we're in better hands when women run things.
Amen to that. Thank you. And if anybody gets a little tired of what you had to deal with in Oklahoma, got plenty of room here in New York. Don't think we haven't thought about it. Thank you, Governor. Thank you, Governor. Bye bye. Well, should we start singing? Start spreading the news. I'm leaving today. I mean, she's just admirable, inspirational, beautiful.
Makes me so happy. Makes me realize how incompetent our governor is. I mean, all at the same time. She's competent. She's not playing like all of those stupid culture wards. I've got to make sure Donald Trump hears what I say so that I can curry favor like our governor does. And it's exhausting. She spoke about the well-being, both physical and
and mental well-being of her constituents, how to keep them safe, what's going on with smartphones and how it's affecting kids and the addictive algorithm. And it's all about the well-being of the citizens of her state. And so many of these MAGA governors, everything they do is for an audience of one, a malignant narcissist.
piece of shit that could give two shits about the charlatan governor of a red state. That's right. I mean, he's not going to invite you to go hang out with him, with all of his elite buddies, and behind your back, he'll immediately say, can you believe this guy, what a redneck dipshit this is? Absolutely. That's how that thing goes down. Of course. It's just, come on, people. Restore decency.
And, you know, these wedge issues are really harmful to people. I mean, picking on the trans community and gay community, picking on immigrants like that is just really horrible. And if you're a religious person,
and you vote for that, I think you're just a complete faux Christian. I do. It's disgusting to me. How they reconcile it is an absolute mystery. It's really disgusting. It is. And it is a walking advertisement to flee religion.
It really is. We should put that on a t-shirt. If you identify as Christian and vote MAGA, you are advertising for people to leave your religion. You are advertising.
Creating people to leave your religion. Thank you. Yes. All right. Well, I mean, what a treat. We have been so fortunate to interview a couple of governors now. And I have to say, these Democratic governors. They're impressive. Sharp as a tack. Right. And then you've got our limb dick.
He is a statewide embarrassment and a nationwide embarrassment. And he should be ashamed of what a hypocrite, morally duplicitous, performative Christian does all of his policies for a party of one. It is a disgrace. It is humiliating. And I will never stop browbeating that man. Because all he does is cause suffering to
For Donald Trump. He causes his citizens to suffer so that he can curry favor with really the worst human being on the planet. Without question. Without question. The worst human being on the planet. All right. That's all we have for today. That's it. That's what we got. We have a book coming out. Make sure you like and subscribe to this episode. Click our link in bio.
Listen up, New York. We have a live show coming on up there November 16th. Maybe we can invite the Gov. I'm sure she'd be the first one in the first row. Do you think we're friends? I think we're friendly. Yeah, yeah. I always want to be friends. You always want to jump to friends and I'm like friendly. And you know what's so interesting about that? I've had this no new friend policy forever. Since I've known you. But now that we're interviewing like really cool people, I want to be their friend. Yeah. But here's the deal. I don't want to maintain the friendship. Yeah.
I just want her to say, oh yeah, I'm friends with her. Right. You just want there to be a mutual affection. It's a vanity project for an insecure aging podcaster like me. All right. Tell them, pups. We will see you next Tuesday and Thursday.
