I'm joel. I met today. We're talking about auto I R S, travel tuesday and sloppy seconds.
Not auto iras as an car or truck I race. Automatic iras like automatic for the people. Joe, this is, in fact, our friday fly hit all the most important headlines that we think pertain to your personal finance, your and orion fan.
right? That was a named one of their bums automatic for the people.
Well, you know where that came from.
from your college town of athons sources.
Yeah, we've redeem mein three. I was still around. I actually I hadn't been back to athens in years.
And so hi, personally can't speak from experience as to what are not still there, but IT was a lot spot back day, especially for someone like me. I was the midland. I never went there.
Have loved that. Have loved. I ve been just like the combination of southern food mixed with music and culture. And armin, yeah i'm sad that selling if it's not there, i'm sad that you you've never made IT. But if not, if it's still there, then we should totally hit what you want to talk about first job.
okay. So we got a email from a listener this week and I guess we were talking recently about or the older cars that I might actually, in particular, of the two thousand and five. I can't really listen to music and there I like literally just play up for my phone. So playing through my sound system because .
it's so antiquated, you're literally using your your phone speakers yes.
when you said OK my playing and IT just like keep you your buzz. I know I probably well, sometimes i've done before two, but I don't know that danger probably. So listener matt, he mailed and he said, actually what you should do is just get basically new head unit for an older car, couple hundred box, especially stereo system yeah especially this time in year some of those discounts from best buy kicking in and you maybe get a free installed something that and um yeah I don't know. I'm going to end up but I do you think that's a good recommendation and I think for some people inside, cause that is what one of those things were like, oh, that upgrade and make a big difference in my life and maybe he fixing on that and maybe .
maybe you move the needle for you. Maybe that's enough to keep you from getting a new vehicle exactly.
And I think some people would say that's so important to me. I think i'm going to kick this one of the karmin in a new one, but there's a whole lot more cost involved without creating your vehicle than there is just in the new head unit. So yeah, are going to do IT. Are you keep that I have for .
some deals over the next time to around?
Because honestly, being able to play my favor music through the car speakers would be a big win. And I don't know how long i'm going to have this car. That's like the thing. I'm not trying to set run into the ground .
because you get a blue to speaker and just set IT up on your dash and just blast IT, then I would look real that you can play in a straight into the cigarette inter power unit as well. It'll never run on a power that's the ultimate fruit tag. Instead of getting something a stereo system IT looks a little ridiculous that you can only use while you're in the car. Give you something that you can take with you like like.
like a picnic. I don't know that doesn't interest me, uh, because I think IT with little, little ridiculous and I wouldn't provide quite as good as .
the you don't have to set IT up on the dead, can set IT down there, you next to shifter ship, whatever. I consider that the problem. I totally hear you're saying that you're talking about not wanting to make that upgrade because of how much value decision values left in the view.
If I just like all i'm going to try to own this car for the next five years, i'd be well in to drop in the two hundred box total.
three hundred box .
even and great baby, yeah, I just get for IT, right? We say so you're .
talking like ten percent of the overall cost of the vehicle in time for five years if you're going to hang onto IT with you one hundred percent. But that also means making all the other repairs on IT that you're probably neglecting like the winship's. And you guys hate me for that talking how you need get that winter place because it's got that big old nasty crash.
But it's not right now. I maybe, I think, a picture and post on instagram or something that but people were like somebody in in, in the faceless group had something like dude with his net worth, like he should be doing that. But the whole way you grow your network is by .
that is just a pink, like I totally agree. Because if you are going to keep the thing around, if you are going to drive IT into the ground, if you are in IT for the long, how you got a you got to get the new tires, amazing. Well, go ahead and get the breaks turn or whatever.
That way you're not eating into the routers, get the time built. Was west ellman change that thing? Because that if you don't do that, you're literally total the vehicle because the cost to repair the engine if IT goes out and that's that's crazy expensive but worth IT if you want to keep driving.
I say that because was that is like a eleven hundred box, I think. And that included nail change. I did that last month, not cheap, but now I know that men are old. Sea is going to be good for another seventy five, one hundred thousand.
I just think I think more than anything, this is not just a good recommended for car owners, like what's the thing you can do to enjoy that car for longer so that keep prevent you from buying something newer um and maybe like stop you from looking to home browsing. But there's going to be other things in life like that too. Or is there something you can do?
There's something that rises to the top that most yeah.
what can you upgrade in your life and a reasonable Price that prevent you for making a more expensive grade. So I like that suggestion, and I think maybe we can take that to another degree and say, what else in your life can you upgrade in a small way, you from up creating in a massive way?
The problem is it's a bunch of little things difficult because what would you say if you had makes some mocket to your van? What would you be because we were recently talking about that grill piece on funy rovin the pop off you like, oh, game because mine did as well, but the mechanic glue IT back on. But I was like, it's only sixty bucks and you're told me to get one for you as well so you can sleep on there. It's all the small things all added up together that often times, I think, makes IT difficult to pinpoint one single thing.
But if there is one in a few small things to move in and just literally put in a few hundred box, i'd probably be like probably feel a lot I feel about that. But what is about there's just a scratch on the side and my dad .
put on IT goi repair that in the best out.
But but I think like maybe sometimes like that you say time to kick in the that's exactly right.
Well, we are talking about saving money by not spending IT. One of the other things you can do your money, jol, invest your money. More states are now working to help the resident save for retirement with something called auto iris.
There is a recent report from pew that finds that tens of millions of americans who are employed in the private sector that they don't have access to a retirement account. And if you don't have access to work, you know, you might go sign up for an ray with one of our low cost favorite out there, very guard fidelity, even Charles swap. But many folks don't do that. That takes some gump shine.
right, to go there and make that happen on your own.
kind of like making small little fixes to record, like I don't want IT badly enough to make IT happen. And so some states are in to bridge the gap. Some of those employers who don't offer a form in cake plan are now required to offer this ira that's run by the state and includes automatic contributions of three to five percent.
That's typical. Ten states are now doing this. Seven more are going to follow suit soon and do is working. There is an amazing amount of money in their something like one point seven billion dollars, which is really impressive. And I think this is great because is on average, when you've got americans who are strugling to say for retirement, I think the easier that we can make IT, especially for folks who don't have access to an account at work, a four win. K, I think this is a good thing.
Yes, this is kind of like the, if you are government employee or you serve in the armed forces, you have access something called the T P. right? And there's been talk over the years about, hey, what if we made just the tsp available to everybody in amErica and this is kind of the equivalent of that, because I think a lot of people know that, hey, I rs exist, I could go out and do this.
But if it's not something that's offered through their workplace and isn't deducted from they're paycheck, they're less likely to go out there and actually make IT happen. So I like kind of making IT easy for people. The easier we can make IT for people, the more likely they are to do IT, right? And like since we started a how to money.
So as we begin this podcast, we've always said investing doesn't have to be complicated, that the more we ratched up the difficulty level of what successful investing look like looks like, the less likely people are to actually do the thing and to start investing um in. In fact, we've always said that the more complicated IT gets typically the worst returns them to get. And there was this recent article in bloomberg and that highlighted the difference between returns from hedge funds and overall market returns this year.
And although I will throw this cabyle in there, hedged funds often they're not attempting to maxim returns. We're using hedged tactics to reduce downside risk, but still on average. And this has been true for years. In years on end, they underperform what the total stock market produces.
Yeah, I was going to say you could probably substitute hetch funds for actively managed fans as well.
and you're going to see similar results. Exactly what that before two, accounting for the absurd they charge. And so here's like a line from the article that I like kind of struck me. IT was said these higher fees strategies have proved too complex for their own good, either by diversifying bets across the stock market or shorting weak looking companies. And so as always, our advice to buy the whole stock market.
right? The whole basket of stocks at the lowest cost you possibly can if you're in the wealth building phase of your life and if you're being told that you need fancy and expensive funds or tactics is just not true. When you look at the people who are engaging in that, these folks who probably dressed in fancy suits and work in the financial district of manhattan, well, they're not doing as well as a lot of everyday Normal investors just taking that basic approach of putting money in continually week after a week, month after month, just funding doe.
The stock market is true. Yeah do you get the impression to that? Like the elite class of folks in the a investing in personal finance space, they're over complicating things like you're justifying their own assistance essentially through all of these products because like the message, realism, all that different, like day after day, like we try to cut through all the, all the junk, all the bs to point people to like the healthy behaviors that they should be doing. And I don't know, maybe he is my not this folks out, maybe they turn out. But when IT comes to some of these investing products like they have to find new creative, inventive ways to find university and tried to outperform the market in order to justify their fees.
And I think it's always helpful to highlighting things, oh IT usually sexy like a hedge fund d manager like doesn't if you met somebody who's a hedged fund manager, you know, that sounds cool. You're to me slightly different and you tell me more about that. But the color thing is, hey, I just a lot money in index funds. And guess what, i'm building wealth and i'm enranged .
coller thing is to have the actual money.
And sure, some of those people have lots of money, but they would have more. They just taken the index month approach.
So is the time of year where retailer ers are discounting in order to win your spending dollars as talk about some the deals that were going na come across because it's not just TV toys. Travel is getting on the Price cut action as well. And in the coming weeks, you might find some sweet travel deals coming way specifically if you are looking to book on travel tuesday, this is a way for travel companies to boost their bookings at the time.
That tends to be there's like the law in the market similar to a black friday is now more of an extended event as opposed to just did actually taking place on two. But that being said, if traveling more is a part of your twenty, twenty five budget and if it's something that you want to do well, booking during the week of in the week after thanksgiving, IT can help you to snag a deal. This is the best deals according to a recent piece over on mckinsey websites are, of course, flights, but then cruizers as well as package travel deals to .
you already seeing some of those those travel bargains rolling out even though travel tuesday actually doesn't come about for a couple of weeks. And might you mention package deals um there some of those can be really good deals, but then there are other things that kind of sound like they might be a great package deal. And there there actually exploitive and they can be like the worst deal you've ever encountered.
And i'm talking about something called vacation clubs and they are a twist on timeshares um a kind of a new twist on timeshare res because boy, if you call something at time share now people are kind of tipped off red flag. Way to second, I thought something bad about time shares in the past but if you call the vacation club uh and you rebrand IT people uh are saying, oh, vacation club sound so much Better. I haven't heard bad things about this but um you are you're going to hear something bad about IT now this new york times report and I found that people are paying tens of thousands of dollars to join these vacation clubs based on a sexy pitch and using named brain recognition from a company like high, oh, come get this higher vacation.
I heard of them. I've heard of high IT. They wouldn't steer me wrong.
They wouldn't completely steal my money. Wood day. Well, these pitches are being made while they're also playing. The people are who are receiving the pitch with lots of alcohol. And we know that alcohol can alarm decision making.
I like drinks, yeah, but maybe not combined with like you think all the things I like, maybe not combining with the that could cost you tens of thousands of dollars, right? And then consumers there, they're finding that the fine print after they've signed up one of these vacation clubs, IT, makes the investment that they've made. I used investment loosely.
It's made IT worthless. And so the pristine promise it's been delivered in the pitch IT doesn't live up to the reality that you encounter on the back end. If you buy into a vacation club, you don't actually really own anything.
You don't own any real state. You're buying discounts for future days, but blackout dates and other unfulfilled promises diminish the value to being almost worthless. So time shares are a problem because they're really expensive. They're hard to unload. They're basically worth nothing. After you buy them, you'd be Better you'd be Better off buying a used time share um before very little because people will sell them for literally pennies and you might hear a pitch for a vacation club. It's early like a time here and they will similarly cost you big bucks.
I think often tell what you're paying for is like the access, right? Like like people are allowed by the exclusivity of some of these different clubs and you kind of get sucked in that way. IT makes me think of there's been a trend.
I've been as recently two of smaller businesses doing like these small business pop up and they charged in up front cost or a front fee to even shop at the pop up. And I feel like it's wrong on unlike the same sort of like limit of time only the exclusive nature of the ability to shop here even if you know you like, not even buy anything, but also IT includes a drink. It's a similar tactic I don't like. I'm all for small businesses, but what's great is that the market will decide whether or not these things are going to be successful or not. But I think is just important to highlights some of the marketing tactics that are going into a whether you're talking about a purchase with that five digits versus one that maybe only two digits.
right? Yeah that takes are highly pattern. Yeah, some of the maybe cute marketing is one thing, but kind of nature tactics that some of these vacation clubs take is another. And you might be we don't want you to be an unsuspecting victim.
So while we're talking about travelled, man has not been a good week for spirit airlines. We recently talked pretty glowingly about the spirit effects in how by it's just mere existence, they're able to help lower fares for all of us. But the airline has been struggling financially. They've ended bankrupcy.
So what does that mean for everyone out there who already has a trip booked, whispered at, well, if you are traveling the near future, like over thanksgiving, I shouldn't change pretty much anything for you and you can even still put future flights with spirit if you're so inclined of maybe getting the absolute lowest Price and you're not looking to take anything with you, just your phone in your pocket. But if you have spirit points, however, you might want to consider using those sooner than later. Not completely known what the fate, I guess, of these points or the desperate airlines as a whole will be. But IT does make IT just given the more business friendly administration coming to office next year, IT doesn't IT more likely that they will exit bankrupt a merger with one of the other alliance where those mergers have got to shut down.
What they were trying to ask, try to merge with jeep u or jeep u is trying to take period over. And that kind of got the the front .
was to get the action at some point.
And I could see that happening because what's worse than reduce competition via emerge while reduce competition probably via bankrupcy of spirit. So I think you're probably right, and I think we could see spirit abroad to the loving arms of one of these other low cost airlines. But spirit not being around anymore would be a loss for all of us.
That flying spirit is not the only way to save the the times had an article this week about skip lagging, which airlines continue to hate. The airlines really don't love IT when consumers try to save money on fighting out of the box ways. And skip lacking is one of those ways that people attempt do that.
And somebody who might say, what what is that? What does that term mean? What's when you hop off the plane before you reach your and destination? And why would you do that? Like why would you book a flight somewhere and get off early? Well, it's because it's actually cheaper to book to a further off destination that connects in the city want to go to instead of just booking directly to the city you're trying to go to.
Um your final destination is actually just a layoff ver spot. So you disembark er early and you just pay a whole lot less for your ticket. And there are even websites out there that being, when being skip lagged dot com, tell you find these hidden discounted fares, which is good.
Like, but this guy, the guy who started this website of years ago, has been been harassed and sued by the airlines. One stop, because they freak and hate this. They do not.
They don't like that. They don't want anybody protesting these cheaper fairs. They don't want anyone highlighting that they exist. They would prefer you to have a blind fold on and just pay them more money. And i'd actually never taken a flight that used skip lagging, but I love that IT exists.
And I think, yes, it's worth IT for other travellers who want to save money to at least look into skip lining and see if I could save that meaningful money. But at the same time, you have to be a little bit careful, because the airlines hate this practice so much. They could analyze you if you get off the plane early.
For instance, some people died in suit. They've had their their frequent flyer es or vote, and often you're going up, the rest of your iteration cancelled. So you might find, oh, I show back.
I got up early. And then, you know what, I want to go back home now. Well, the rest of your ticket is no invoice. You got to be really careful in how you do skip hing thing. But if you do IT right.
you might be the same money one way, skip lag, that seems to make more sense than the round to get to, including why previously loyal consumers are saying no to the brains used to love. Get to that more right after this. If you're looking to take your money game to the next level, then you can keep doing the same old things that you've always done.

This is an atti c crest with you hear, because of our job, we need to be connected, tony, over connects by more than us. But it's important, like connection with your friends, your family every enriches your life. And that gives you something that provides and high speed internet, just in the context of this show, is so important.
We will be talking about something here. And it's easy to forget when you have IT in, big parts of the country still don't have high speed internet. So A N T knows this.
They're ware of IT at A T T, and they're making a huge effort to change that. What they're doing is on track to cover thirty million plus locations currently who don't have IT to get IT with fiber by the end of twenty, twenty five. Millions of people obviously will benefit families, businesses, schools, spitals. There is a place called old county in kentucky, where they're now providing high speed internet to more than twenty thousand customers. A T N T join a lot of great things.
Connecting changes everything. A T N T. I were back the friday's flight continues and is signing get to the ludicrous address of the week. Matthis comes from sure wood, which is Robin hood's journalistic brand thing they got going on now and they are doing good job .
where they actually yeah and what will continue to read stories by them as long as the journalist .
integrity is a pt. So AR.
it's just a little suspicious because you're kind of like what they want they try to push. But when they got good stories, I mean good stories of good stories.
but and so this one, the title was today, sport spending boom. Maybe tomorrow's investment issue yeah. And so first doesn't sound .
like they're promoting anything dog. No, like they are trying .
to make that a real problem. exactly. And so first, they mentioned that one hundred and twenty billion dollars in sports bets were made last year, which is crazy. I didn't realize just how much money people are taking into the sports gambling apps, but it's a lot no wonder we're seeing all the um ads for fan dow and drafting ings and all all the like.
I don't really watch sports as much as I used to, but I know I know that they're advertising nonstop h, especially when you're watching your favorite teams play. And then a group of academics on top of that, just release a new study which finds that sports gambling is causing people who are protesting in IT, uh, is causing to investors. And so like that, that makes sense though IT makes sense, but it's also not a good thing.
I mean, one line that stuck out to me from this article was this IT said the increase in bedding and associated consumption leads to heightened financial instability as households run up Carter card baLances and more frequently overdraw their bank accounts. So basically, sports gambling is ruining their lives and and it's causing able to invest a whole lot less. So if you really, if you really want to gamble on sports, you do you like, i'm not here to be the moral police or or to tell you that it's not okay if you to spend your money in that way.
But I think it's also crucial to create a strict line item in your budget and to pull those funds from other areas like you're entertainment budget, for instance, right like a few is that's what IT is yeah. If you go to vegas and you you you like for for the weekend and you gamble at the tables like that should come out of your entertainment budget, IT shouldn't come from your investment account um do not under any circumstances take money you would have invested and shivered into your handle account. Just make sure it's not coming out of h you're not taking IT from your eventual retirement future for having fun today. That's true.
Yeah it's less about the morality and more of the fact that of what is keeping people from like it's the it's like junk food. Honestly, it's like it's not that a snickers bar, it's like poison and you know the drop that because of that, it's that fact that that fills you up and that that keeps you from meeting like healthy vegetables and meat and protest like all other things.
Yes, that we need in our diets and yes, over time, that will cause you to drop to, yes, it's the substitute nature that gambling poses while we're talking about food. Another inferior financial trend that continues is shrink flame. And we've always said to make sure to be alert to the different manufacturers out there.
There are shrinking their sizes. Check the Price per serving. Know what IT is that you're getting? Smile packages are just one way that companies are able to avoid jacking up the Price. And some listeners that i'll lover take on shrink flame job, they think IT should be illegal.
Someone crapped on me when I set up the recently about shrinking flame. They reached out on twitter. And like the dome i've ever heard, like war, okay with this, like I know because .
he gives us options why you IT turns out consumers do notice when their favorite items shrink in size. Here's the free market in action, and they change their buying habits accordingly. This actually happened with tropick ana recently.
They shrink the the container, the jog down by six ounces. And instead of taking the line down, folks up that to buy another orange juice brand, little bit of consumer activism going on here. Try cade.
Cells went down by eight percent july, and then that train continued. Cells were down nineteen percent in october. I think that's awesome.
Me too. I think it's good to see the folks are paying attention. They are just sing the shopping habits. And I want to help to the fact that I will say V S. Consumers are not perfectly rational and objective and logical when IT comes to our grocery habits and what IT is that we're buying. I think a part of the two came down to the fact that they change the actual packaging.
And so you know what the clear jug of tropical like, right? Like how would you describe that? It's like bigger at the bottom and is pair shaped, really can rather the top.
And so they changed IT towards more uniform, which makes like honestly I can as some thinking about like O I D preferred red for that to be in my fridge. Then the y bottom think because you get a small footprint, but that has an impact. And people perceive IT differently. They perceive IT differently and IT looks more genre. And so while I do think folks are looking at how much things cost and are looking at the Price prince, even that one little thing that snaps s amount of the default purchase, like the default reaching ford on the shelves is enough to help folks to be assess whether another gaining value from that company, which ultimately I also think is good.
And I I I guess I just don't think shrink free flash is going away so we can beat our heads against the wall and complained about the fact that page sizes are thinking. But the truth is we have to be aware of IT and react differently. And I think switching away from neighboring ds is one way to save a lot of money.
If company try to get too cute with their shrinking lation efforts, it's going to back fire. People see that the sizes are going down. They see that they're not getting as much bank for their buck, and they're going to make changes in how they shop.
And that's just how I should be. Well, we don't think to inflation should be illegal. Anything I got. It's totally okay for you to not reward companies for doing IT, though, and that this is the time of year when people shop more than other people are making more in store and online transactions this time of year.
And the truth is we don't always hit the nail on the head with those purchases the first time around, which means we're also making more returns this time of year. And statistics show that roughly fifteen percent of purchases overall end up being returned even higher in this winter shopping season. And so it's a pain to make returns.
I actually have a return I got to make right now. I I just I hate actually, there were some light pobs that can work out. Dude, don't make me go off about lippo's. S how they are kind of racket libel. S everybody, no, it's it's like this particular four pronged libel .
that goes into my like speciality. Yeah, life picture lives label.
S in batteries that something I would love to see something like we don't need as many of any of those. Can we just things a little bit more, but I have to return those live hopes because I didn't fit. But more retailers are refunding your money.
And then also on top of that, allowing you to keep the item because the cost of taking IT back, receiving that uh, that return or they're just too high. And so there's a company called return pro, and they said that roughly sixty percent of retailers now have an internal policy or they're allowing you to keep the item that you're trying to return. So not only the giving you the money back, but they're saying, just hold on of that dumb like you idiot.
But they didn't say that to you. They didn't say that. No, I got actually go going to give the light pole back was just an online order .
or in person online but of course and you're going to like go to that guess the problem fly right?
yes. Well, and they don't make these policies public typically because then I think people gain the system right. But this is a good reminder to know, I think um that maybe you might get keep the item that are returning and yet the refund, but also know the return policy before you buy, especially this time of year because IT lets of retailers are offering larger return windows. But there might be some items that they won't take back and they might have harsher return policies around electronic items. So know what you're ginning into and where you're buying from and what the return policy actually is before you make a purchase.
This time here is true, yeah, especially with some of those clearance items that you may not have the ability to return and you buy. You might be tempted to get a store card, a store credit card at checkout in order to snack K A thirty percent off discount. Something like that, we would recommend free to not do that.
Store cards are not nearly as good as traditional Normal credit cards. They come with far higher interest strates attached to them. There are a record high of thirty three percent this year. And so if you don't pay off that baLance on time and an info, it's worse than ever. So an argument to this though, might be some folks thinking, and hey, this cars got a zero percent rate for a certain kind of time, that sweet index crary fee plus.
I say, fifty books of total purchase. So you guys are idiots.
This is a good money move, and that's true. But you ve got to make sure IT just bionetworks comes down to how you handle if you can handle a credit or like a row and sure, go for IT. But often those cards charged was called differing interest. And so this means that you will be retroactively charged interest for the entire time span going back to day one of that pollution period.
like those furniture stores that would do like no payment, no interest until twenty twenty nine. And then if you missed one payment or you a little bit later or something like only you exactly.
And so in that case, that extra discount you got on the im purchase they won't make up for, it's an the various tactic to to avoids the store cards in particular is the transparency that bores me the most.
And I wasn't surprised to see that A A retailer that sells electronics best by had the worst transparency in the fact that this was not something that i'm all four people making the decisions in informed way, right? Like you can make give give people the information, but. When you try to hide IT, and that deserves like a special call out in my opinion.
I think two store cards that I am less supposed to than most of the other store cards are amazon and target because those offer a reasonable discount, five percent on everything you buy from those two stores. An amazon's credit is offering a two unrollable sina bonus right now when you grab that card. So if you shop at those two stories, a significant amount of those are retailers that you're loyal to. I think having that credit card is fine and i've actually get the amazon card and I only use IT when i'm shopping at amazon, so the same. But most of the .
store cards depends on what you're doing, right? Like if you're onna, go in completely prevent your wardrobe or something like that like getting thirty percent off at like banana republic or something like you can save a huge chunk of money, is just when you don't handle your cards properly. In fact, is buying brain new clothes in the mall that is not likely the most afford way to a review wardrobe.
The best way is to buy, used and IT. Turns out you that more americans are apparently getting more comfortable with the idea of buying used gifts, wrapping them up, making look nice and pretty, sticking them of the tree. Folks are trying to stretch their gift giving budget and are turning to second hand gift to make this happen.
And this is apparently one of the things that divides along generational lines. So here's that. Seventy nine percent of gene zeres think that giving second hand presence is great, but only thirty two percent of bombers agree with that.
Okay, boomer, yeah. Although, like I said, make IT look nice. Like IT all comes out to like the presentation. You can make sure .
still thoughtful too, right? Like you can buy a used gift that's completely thought less, and you can buy a used gift. IT can be even like something vintage, and IT could be an incredibly thoughtful a gift like I could buy.
You met like a use record or something like that. Like, no, be like this early ark five a one of my favorites you're spent in on on your happily on my play. Rea, if you had one, i'm just i'm just pointing out just like a range of thing, but there are ways .
to cut turn tables, I think so I never .
got albums, a records, but it's I like the sound of IT even though I rarely play IT. But they think there are ways to do use gifts or like you've been into giving me dumbbells recently for Christmas last couple years.
at one time I gave you last year.
you give me a rocking plate. I wouldn't have cared if IT was used or new works like does IT way thirty five three thing? Yes, exactly. So if you said, dude, I got this actually like ten box of facebook marketplace, I I would think that was awesome.
The rocking flat too. I had to get you that because you're putting multiple dumb lls in your bet like as you're getting in the rocking, you're in well done both in your bag and I was like poking in the back and there's gonna ad the jaw having some issues, it's like punching on his kidneys and give you that flat duk today.
Do you always keep IT in your backpacking is always but I tried to do nice. Yeah i'm percent of time depends on the day and when I am bringing to work .
in my backpack but I I won't give you wait for Christmas issue find a little while I was thinking to another like .
some another way that use gifts actually makes sense. Like I ve thought about IT getting my kids and intend to switch. I don't know. I'm going to not probably not onesta, but I thought about IT. Have we talked about this?
No, we have IT OK worthing to the same. Are you OK for the new one? I know same.
but then they did like but some of the deals are Better. The thought but I think my who's sixteen, he's probably got some old games that he wasn't playing more. He goes, which I guess what they're perfectly five games and my kids wouldn't know the difference. And so why got by my kids of fifty dollar game when he could just give them three the game he doesn't planning more that they .
would be interested in. And ster.
where out does IT right? So that's that's where I think we we use gifts. I'm OK with use gifts as long as her. So thought fully, they might save you some money and you're able to get the person kind of what they want for the holidays instead of feeling like you gotta go there and buy something new glossy packaging or .
something like that one. Yes, what main trash is another main treasures? What do you think about White elephant gifts? How nice do White elephant .
gives to to to be alive? Ed, for every White elephant gathering, got to put the Price you to the Price range. These are people are like, oh yeah, the twenty five dollar Price range but then they are get like twenty five dollar starbucks give card or something like that. And I am not with that .
was you love our book? No.
but I think White, everything you should be a little off beat, should be little goofy, right? Isn't that the whole point of them? I say, I don't like you wanted to be something that somebody kind of wants, but it's also a little weird.
I like the fact that sometimes folks will give you bus out the thirty dollar, give car to the local coffee shop, but then someone else has got something totally ring dom, because, you know, there different shots for different folks in the same way that we're talking about. Get new just like everyone is looking for something different and maybe you're just not in the mood to go home with something wicky and you just want to load the gift card into your APP so that you don't forget IT in boom, you got free coffee for the next couple times, right?
That all be two are own on that when I guess but maybe maybe just at this consider giving a use give this year to someone who would enjoy IT. But math that's going to do IT for this episode out of money, we will put links to some of the stories we covered on today's podcast up in the internet sooner website at how to money dot m.
you know, IT so until next time, best from our best friends out.
