The Texas Longhorns have landed a big name to be the next head coach of their men's basketball program.
Sean Miller, fresh off of leading Xavier to the NCAA tournament in two of the last three seasons, has been named the 27th head coach of the Texas program. During his 20 years as a head coach, which includes 12 seasons at Arizona, Miller has gone to the Sweet 16 eight times while making four Elite Eight appearances. He replaces Rodney Terry in Austin, who was informed Sunday that he would not return to lead the program.
Miller's Musketeers defeated Texas last week in the first four round of the tournament before losing to Illinois on Friday. Staying in college basketball, former NBA star Mike Bibby has agreed to become the next head coach of Sacramento State that according to ESPN, Bibby guided Shadow Mountain High School in Phoenix, Arizona to five state championships over a six-year span. He spent 14 years as a player in the NBA with his best years coming with the Sacramento Kings.
Heading over to the NFL, Zach Wilson will be a backup with the Miami Dolphins, but he still believes he has the ability to be a starting quarterback in the league. I still believe I can be a starter in this league whenever that opportunity comes, and so I'm just trying to put myself in the best situation with the best team and coaches.
That was courtesy of the Dolphins. Wilson will back up to a tongue of Iowa in Miami after spending last season with the Broncos. Wilson was expected to be the face of the New York Jets franchise after being selected with the second pick of the 2021 draft, and he was the starter for most of his three seasons in New York, but he failed to ever get the offense going before the Jets sent him to Denver.
And in the NBA, Maverick star Anthony Davis returned from injury to play against the Nets after missing the last 18 games. Dallas has been decimated by injury since one of the more shocking trades in NBA history. That's when they sent Luka Doncic to the Lakers with all-star point guard Tyree Irving out for the season after tearing his ACL earlier this month.
