Ukraine's President Zelensky said his military incursion into Russia's Kursk region is meant to create a buffer zone.
It was the first time Zelensky had clearly stated the aim of the operation. Zelensky said in his own words, it is now our primary task in defense of operations overall to destroy as much Russian war potential as possible. So far as forces have taken out a bridge and struck another one, potentially disrupting supply lines for Russian forces.

And the U.S. Secretary of State is in the Middle East as he continues to push for a ceasefire agreement in the Israel-Gaza war. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is arriving in Israel today for talks as those ceasefire negotiations continue. America's top diplomat looking to move the ball forward amid concerns that Israel and Hamas still don't agree on a path forward. Negotiations did wrap up in Doha on Friday after two days of intense but reportedly productive talk.
They will resume again later this week in Cairo. A joint statement was released by the Egyptians, the Qataris and the Americans saying the meetings were serious, constructive and conducted in a positive atmosphere. Although that description came from the parties that are not directly involved in the decision making. That is Fox's Trey Youngston, Tel Aviv. Police in Hernando County, Florida, responding to what they thought was an active shooter at a supermarket in Spring Hill Friday night. Jordan Bowen, a Fox TV affiliate, WTVT in Tampa. Right now, we know at least three people have been shot and taken to the hospital, but at this time, the sheriff's office will not confirm the extent of their injuries. Sheriff's office deputies were called to the Mariner's Cay Apartments near Central Park Drive and Northcliff Boulevard.
Boulevard in Spring Hill on a report of a shooting. According to the sheriff, the suspected shooter started firing at five people who were all inside a car. At least three people inside that car were shot. The driver then drove from the apartments to the Mariner Shopping Center across the street to get help. The car made it to the public's parking lot and as a precaution, the public's was evacuated. For now, reporting in Spring Hill, Jordan Bowen, Fox News. AAA says the cost of gasoline is coming down.
The national average for a gallon of gas, $3.41 today. That's about three cents less than a week ago and nearly 46 cents less than it last year at this time. Spokesperson for AAA cautioning that with hurricane season still in full swing, it's too early to celebrate lower gas prices just yet.
