Tottenham's ability to score goals and their strong attacking play, despite defensive errors, helped them secure a 4-3 win over Manchester United. Key players like Kulusevski, Solanke, and Son contributed significantly, and the team managed to hold on despite a late surge from United.
Both goalkeepers, particularly Fraser Forster of Tottenham, made critical errors that led to goals. Forster's mistakes were especially notable, as they allowed Manchester United to score two goals and nearly come back from a 3-0 deficit.
Tottenham's defensive lineup was weakened by injuries and the use of young, inexperienced players. This, combined with the team's tendency to become overconfident and 'showboat' when leading, contributed to their defensive struggles.
Tottenham will face Liverpool in the semi-finals, a team known for its strong performance and quality players. The draw is considered tough, but it also presents an opportunity for Tottenham to prove their mettle against one of the top teams in the league.
The takeover marks the end of Farhad Moshiri's ownership, which was characterized by financial issues, poor on-pitch performance, and a lack of stability. The Friedkin Group is expected to bring a more professional and stable approach to running the club, which fans hope will lead to improved performance and success.
Sean Dyche has managed to secure 15 points from 15 matches this season, which is a solid foundation given the club's financial and on-pitch issues. His ability to handle off-field chaos and focus on winning matches has been praised, and he is seen as a steady hand during a period of transition.

Welcome to the Football Daily Podcast. What an absolutely extraordinary quarterfinal of the League Cup. Tottenham through after beating Manchester United 4-3 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. We've seen Spurs be both brilliant and terrible this season. We saw both sides of that today, but they are through to the final for John Murray. Michael Brown, we're watching the game this evening in North London. I mean, John,
Your notes must have actually exploded at one point. Tell us the story of the game. You're right, it was quite the thriller, as it did promise to be, and it was also a bad night for the goalkeepers. And it started when Manchester United's Bayinda parried out Poro's shot for Solanke to fire in the first, and Spurs took a grip on it early in the second half. First, Kulosevski shot in, the second goal, and the crowd were singing Ange Postakoglu's name after Solanke was sent through to score his second of the night.
and Spurs third. But this is Tottenham 2024, remember? And after a triple change from Ruben Amorim, the Spurs goalkeeper, Fraser Forster, presented United with two goals. Subs Xerxe and Amagiallo were the scorers of them. 3-2...
And wobbling, though, became 4-2 to Tottenham when Son scored directly from a corner, swung over by Inder, who claimed that he was fouled. The referee didn't see it that way. Yet still it wasn't finished as Johnny Evans headed in his first Manchester United goal for almost 11 years to give it that final four.
4-3 scoreline and a couple of postscripts, Eli. Garnaccio, Alejandro Garnaccio was sent on as a late substitute, one of the players who was left out at the weekend for the Manchester derby. But Marcus Rashford left out altogether again, as had been expected. And additionally, on the Tottenham side, yellow cards for James Madison and Pape Sarr means that they will be suspended for the first leg of the semi-final.
I mean, Michael Brown, there was so much to pick through on this, but there was a point towards the end of the game where the cameras kept finding Pat Jennings in the crowd, former Spurs goalkeeper, of course, a legend of the game. And I wonder what was going through his mind at various points. I bet he couldn't believe what he was witnessing from goalkeepers. It was a bad night for them. And let's be honest, they're the ones that save you. They have to stay with concentration. And ultimately, they just got it wrong today, especially
especially the Spurs goalkeeper, who's done so well, obviously, since he's come in to cover. But this happens. Things change. They take risks. And I think, yes, that's Ange Postakoglu's way to try and be patient, to keep believing, playing out. But again, it caused them all sorts of problems. So, yeah, what a legend he was, Pat, and always at the training ground, always coming around, still doing that today, showing such interest in this brilliant football club. And he'll be delighted that
you know, from doing things not so well to getting through it and to find a way into the semi-final and into the draw. And that's the most important thing today. And this extraordinary inconsistency that we've talked about so much. I mean, we've covered a lot of, obviously, Europa League games on a Thursday night. And John, you know, they just about got away with it tonight. Yeah.
Yeah, and as well as Pat Jennings in the stands, Ozzy Ardela was up there as well. And I think there were times, certainly, when it got back to 3-2, that Ozzy's knees would have been getting trembly like they used to. But, I mean, that is just typical them. You know, I've said to Michael, 3-0 up, it looks as though they're on their way.
You know you were saying to me Michael don't believe it. Like I said I've witnessed it before I've been in that Spurs shirt 3-0 up against 10 men and lost full three so especially under Ange Postacogli the way they play obviously they're very very light let's be honest on the bench and Manchester United were able to make lots of changes considerable ones with experience to bring on but you
And, you know, Ferran's side were obviously depleted with youngsters who have gained experience. The thing is with this Tottenham side, Ellie, I think if you're in this Tottenham side and you're playing for them, I think you can sort of think, well, anything's possible in terms of scoring goals. But I think the teams that play against them think anything's possible in terms of scoring goals against them.
And was that one of the points, actually? You make the point about the relative strengths of the two benches, that United could bring on, you know, Mainu, Amad Diallo, Xerxe, who made an immediate impact. And Spurs didn't have those options off the bench. So the fact they managed to hang on in the way that they did is quite a credit to them. Well, it's a credit considering the lack of depth they had, yes.
But the key mistakes when they were cruising, they were almost showboating. We've seen Ribona from Kulosevski, which almost come off. By the way, he was incredible on the night. I thought he did everything so, so well. Manchester United just couldn't handle him. But yeah, I mean, it's just an amazing football game that we've witnessed mistakes, but there was real quality in the game. Let's not just throw this game at the goalkeepers and say they were the errors because they will be the talking points.
But we've seen top performance. Manchester United as well contribute some great counter-attacking football. People have been criticised, like Anthony contributed, Bruno Fernandes. Some great balls. And then, obviously, for Spurs, when you look at Kulishevsky...
You look at Son, Solanke contributed, Maddison, Sarr and Bissouma. And then that young defence that they had, didn't they? I see Jed Spencer, great performance from him, playing at left-back, Archie Gray at centre-back, who's a number six. And then Dragos and Pedro Porro. So, yeah, lots of changes, lots of indifference, but we were treated to a real wonderful cup tie that will not be forgotten for a long time.
Well, I'll tell you what, it was a fantastic one for the neutrals, but what about a Spurs fan? Rosa Anderson is a Spurs podcaster. I mean, how did you ride those waves tonight watching that, Rosa? Oh my God, I feel like my life flashed before my eyes on several occasions throughout the second half.
Yeah, I don't really know how I did it. I did a lot of walking around and hiding behind corners and behind my sofa, basically. That's how I cope. I honestly, I thought when we went 3-0 up, I thought it'd be fine because actually when we've won this season, it has tended to be by blitzing teams and we've won by quite like big margins, like three goals. So I thought I'll be all right. And then, but there just isn't any...
kind of legislating for chaotic goalkeeping, I guess. And I feel really bad for Forster because he's done so well. But he really didn't have a good day. I mean, but what is it about defending a lead? You know, I mean, is this an old fashioned concept that, you know, you've got a 3-0 lead, you hang on to it for all it's worth? Because it wasn't just the goalkeepers, was it? There was some pretty poor defending in there as well. I mean, I can forgive the defenders because with the exception of Poro, they're all babies, really. Yeah.
So, and you know, there's one who shouldn't even be in there, Archie Gray. And then there's Jed Spence, who's hardly played at all and he's playing on the wrong side. So that I find completely forgivable. It doesn't really, it's not like a bunch of sort of grownups, like doing what they need to be doing. And I think if we'd had our first choice defense, well, maybe it probably wouldn't have been quite so chaotic. Yeah.
As far as what was going on up front, though, I mean, Dominic Solanke with two goals tonight. I mean, what a great player he is. And I mean, what did you make of the Son goal, the fourth goal, which in the end, I was going to say killed it off. But then, of course, we got another one at the end with a right at the end from Johnny Evans. But, you know, you have got the players who can score the goals. Do you need the defence that can back it up as well? I think so. I mean, to be honest, I think we also need more...
more attackers probably I mean I was looking at you know you've talked about it already looking at the United team and the substitutions the players they were able to bring on we just don't have that and I don't even think we really have that even at full strength so being you know really greedy I'd like to have a defence but I'd also like to have more forwards but yeah I mean Son has been amazing for us for so long he's such a
He's probably like our greatest ever big game player, I would say. And then Solanke has been amazing for us this season and hasn't quite got the goals. So what a night to do it, really. Do you think, Michael, it's unfair to really judge Tottenham at this stage? And when they do have all those players back, then we'll see the real Spurs.
I think we've got to judge them because they've been so inconsistent right throughout the season. Just as they seem to get a really good result, they go and get a poor one. So that's something they've got to change. The manager's tactics as well at times haven't been spot on and that's why we're questioning. It's not just the supporters, it's pundits, it's commentators, it's people in the game are saying they've got to improve all around. They are depleted heavily. Their injury list is very, very poor and
and when we get some of them back, we will hopefully see an improvement in that consistency. But I think the most important thing is getting towards that Champions League position, try and deliver a trophy. I think that's been talked about so much. I've stood in this wonderful stadium, the best around, the best training ground ever.
But now these supporters, the next step, they want to see silverware. And hopefully this is the year. You know, it's going to be tough because of that draw. But from there on, I think we can look, we can see a positive outcome with Spurs and they've just got to get rid of that inconsistency. Is it your year, Rosa?
I don't know. Maybe. Who knows? I mean, in a weird way, like the draw is absolutely hideous, but I almost back us more against the bigger teams. It seems to be that against the sort of like lesser teams, that's not a nice way of putting it, but everyone knows what I mean, that we seem to really crumble. So I sort of feel like our players tend to turn it on against the bigger sides. That's an amazing thing and also a very annoying thing. So, you know, why not, I guess? I'd love it, obviously. Yeah.
Brilliant stuff, Rosa. Thank you very much indeed. Go and lie down in a darkened room if I were you. Thank you very much. I really need it. Let's bring in freelance journalist, Manchester United writer James Young to talk about what a game that was, James.
But there is work to do, isn't there, for Ruben Amarim? There is. I mean, it was almost like playground football. And I mean that as a compliment. Both teams showed so much passion going forward and it was non-stop, end to end. But I think those 6,000 United fans that have travelled down to London on a Thursday night right before Christmas that will be getting back late this morning will have seen a lot in that side. And I think especially players like Hamadou scored that goal against Manchester City on Sunday going forward, chasing down the goalkeeper. We've not seen that for United yet.
you know, especially towards the end of ten-hugging. Yes, there's still a lot of inconsistencies within that squad, even within the same game, you know, going three goals down and then, you know, making it back to 3-2 and you're thinking maybe is there a way into this game? And actually, if they don't concede a fourth and, you know, Evans scores right at the end and maybe they could have taken it to penalties if they just conceded, you know, and maybe tightened the defensive a bit better. I think this game came down to the fact that Spurs had a slightly better attacking threat. And I think the problem is for United,
I don't want to single out specific players, but the likes of Xerxes, the likes of Hoyland, haven't quite delivered in the same way that maybe we expected them to.
Well, I mean, you know, Zexi scored you a goal and Johnny Evans scored you a goal as well. I mean, at that point, did you think, wow, maybe there is a chance? Well, I mean, if Evans scores that goal maybe two minutes earlier, then you never know with Spurs, you know, they're always likely to throw things away. But I think Johnny Evans is a perfect example of the type of player that Manchester United need more of. Players that aren't on big wages and want to play for the club. And he came back because he wanted to serve Manchester United. He's really proud to play for them and as are a lot of other players in that team. And I think
Once you get more of a spirit like that in the squad, you can almost rely on players like that that maybe in terms of a technical ability aren't quite at that top level, but just care a bit more and give that extra 110%. So the record so far under Ruben Amorim, eight games, four wins, three defeats.
I mean, that's kind of, that's sort of Tottenham form, isn't it really? That kind of inconsistency. Yeah, but I mean, it's going to take him a while to get his feet under the desk and to properly put his planning in place. And let's not forget, you know, these are not his plays. He's going to have to have his own transfer windows to put that plan in place. I think actually what we're seeing from him, I mean, you saw that on Sunday, that was a really impressive performance. And today again, there were spells, but I think it's getting there. I think there's definitely far more of an identity with this Manchester United squad. Whereas towards the end of Ten Hag, you know, it was,
There wasn't anything there. You couldn't see what style of football United wanted to play, whereas I think it's different now. James, do you think you've worked out yet what Ruben Amorim thinks is his best team?
No, I don't think he knows it yet either. And I think, you know, once United start to get players back from injury and he kind of figures out with his style of play and how he wants to play. And I think it's really interesting the fact that obviously he's left Rashford out of the squad now for two games. But maybe there's other things here that we don't know about. Maybe I'm thinking, well, actually, there's not really much space for Rashford in my team. And
especially when it comes to January. I don't think United will have much money to spend on players, but I think looking towards the summer, there probably is going to be a mass clear out of players because the issue United have had is the fact that they've had so many different managers. This squad is about three or four different managers, players all pushed into one team. But how are they going to change all the squad? I don't know how they're going to be able to do it. I really don't know how they can make such...
drastic changes well not the entire squad but I mean in terms of I definitely think there'll be four or five on the way out and I think Cameron has his players that he wants to bring in there's also other things as well regarding you know financial fair play and the fact that you know United have got players still on high wages which is probably why Rashford makes sense for him to leave the club
Just looking at the, you know, I mentioned this during the commentary tonight, the number of changes he's made match by match. So for his second match, made six changes, then six changes again, six changes again, four changes, five changes, four changes, five changes tonight. So he's, you know, he's had a good look at
most of the squad that he's got what do you think is the you know what's the upper limit do you think that he can do with what he currently has well I think towards the end of this season I think top four would be a good thing for him to finish with this squad because let's not forget at the start of the season you know it was dying I mean Ten Hag had won one home game going quite far into the season and it wasn't wasn't good at all and I think going towards the end of this season maybe a cup as well and top four would be a good start for him and he can build from there but I
The thing is with United fans now, there's been so many managers since Alex Ferguson that there's almost this false hope of, well, we don't want to get behind a manager and think, right, this is going to be it because we've been there before with Mourinho, with Van Gaal, with Ten Hag, with Solskjaer. It almost feels like whoever's going to take charge is going to have the same issues.
Just a final thought from you, James. I mean, that's one trophy that you're out of this season. But how important, I mean, what's your main priority, would you say, this season? Is it a decent league position? I mean, you've got Bournemouth, Wolves and Newcastle next.
and then Liverpool Arsenal at the start of the new year is it silverware or is it just consolidating and being in you know a decent position for Europe next season I think for me I think Champions League football would be great if United can get that but also the Europa League is there to be won let's not forget and United did that under Jose Mourinho in his first season they won the League Cup obviously United are out of that now but they won the Europa League and that's what got them into the Champions League the following season so
I think if United won that, I'm room stock amongst supporters and that's why Sanja kept his job last season because he won a trophy and that's what Solskjaer couldn't do as manager which is ultimately what led to his decline. He couldn't pick up any silverware and I was in good hands and I saw that penalty shootout where United lost to Villarreal and it was never going to really go anywhere after that. That was...
kind of it for Solskjaer that was the make or break moment and I'm not saying it's going to be quite the same with them so far in but they're still in two competitions they win the FA Cup or the Europa League and get Champions League football I think that would be a pretty good start to his career as manager Great James thank you very much indeed Manchester United writer and journalist James Young joining us on the Football Daily podcast I mean final thoughts from you to John and Michael will you see a crazier game all season?
I mean, maybe when they face each other next in the league, perhaps. Bring it on. I'd like to be there. That's for certain. But do you know what? It just keeps surprising me. When I come to this stadium, since Ange Postacoglu took charge, we're seeing wonderful entertainment. We're not always seeing the results from a Spurs perspective, but for commentary and for enjoyment, we're certainly seeing lots of incidents. And there is some really good football and then some really bad football. Well, the last time I was here, Ellie, uh,
the match finished 3-4. Today it's finished 4-3 and I'm here again on Sunday for Liverpool's visit.
In whose favour, John? Are you sitting on the fence? Are you going to commit now? Could be. We could call a podcast. Could be anything, Michael. Lucky seven. Could be. Could do. Well, the draw for the semi-finals also made this evening. Arsenal will be at home to Newcastle and then Spurs against Liverpool. The first leg in the week beginning January the 6th and the second leg in the week beginning February the 3rd.
So, John, we could have an all-North London final or it could be, you know, I mean, it's going to be a cracking series of semifinals and final, whatever happens. Yes, I think with those four clubs in it, as we said right at the outset tonight, you know, you had four heavyweight teams. Whatever was happening, you're going to have four heavyweights in the semifinals. Yes, we could have had a two-leg Arsenal-Tottenham-North London semifinal. It's not to be. So, therefore, there is the possibility of that.
at Wembley Stadium. I think as well with Newcastle being drawn away from home first, as we know that the yellow cards have come into play, so Newcastle will have to go to Arsenal for the first leg without the suspended share and Bruno Gimmerich, which is a big loss for them. And similarly, Tottenham, when they'll have their first leg after the yellow cards tonight, no Madison and Saar for the first leg against Liverpool. Who are the favourites?
Probably Liverpool. The Football Daily Podcast. On BBC Sounds. BBC Radio 5 Live. Monday to Wednesdays from 11. Join Nagamon Chetty for the latest headlines. Elsewhere tonight, Everton's takeover by the Friedkin Group has been confirmed. It means Farhad Moshiri's time as owner is over. A little earlier on, we were joined by BBC Radio Merseyside's Julia Bold and the former Everton midfielder Aaron Lennon to talk about what could come next for the club. It has been just a rollercoaster, I think it's fair to say.
Everton and around the club itself for so long Farhad Moshiri's tenure won't be remembered fondly because let's face it fans want success on the pitch and it's been three relegation battles on the bounce and you could say four
really right now with Everton in 16th that, you know, they're not anticipating much right now from this season. But there's also been the financial breaches. There's been points deductions. There's been an interim board in place for the last 18 months. And Farhad Moshu, he's not been a present owner. He's not been at games either. It's been very frustrating. Many of the assets, Richarlison, Amadou and Nana, have all been sold off for big money and never replaced as well. So tonight it feels...
I think there's a little bit of caution because it's Everton, they always expect some kind of saga, but tonight they're feeling very relieved. And what does it mean for the manager? I mean, there's been such a revolving door policy at Goodison in the past. What about Sean Dyche?
Yeah, that is the big question right now. It's my understanding the Friedkin Group will hold talks with the manager, Sean Dyche, and also the director of football, Kevin Thirlwell, at Everton to look at what they want to do with the men's team going forward. I don't anticipate any immediate changes
Obviously, the fans are frustrated with the style of football recently that has gone on inside Goodison and on away trips. However, I do think for now, he will be given a bit of time while the club is unusually stable. It's not been stable his entire tenure. He came in, it'll be two years in January after Frank Lampard was sacked.
I think potentially there could be a change at the end of the season, but right now, I think he will still be in place. Julius, stay with us. Let's bring Aaron back in because, of course, you were at the club when Moshiri took over in 2016, weren't you? What was that like? Yeah, it was, and I remember. It's funny, I remember the day he actually walked in the building. I think we'd just lost one of the games, and I remember it just going silent. I remember thinking, what's going on? And then I remember Moshiri walking in,
taking the room and basically telling us that things were going to change from this day on. He said he was going to invest fortunes into the club, which to fair to him, he's put a lot of money into that football club and that the club would be challenging within the Champions League within two or three seasons. So, like I said, he did put his money where his mouth is. I think there was a lot of bad decisions along the way, as we've seen, which has obviously led
Everton to where they are now and in a lot of trouble. So, yeah, it's been a rocky, rocky nine years. Like I said, I remember them days when he first walked in and talks of Champions League. Everyone was eyes lit up, but there was a few sceptical people in the room, including myself. But I also remember not long after that, Steve Walsh, he brought in, Meshiri brought in Steve Walsh, I think with Koeman.
And I remember, this is a mega story, this. I remember Erling Haaland walking in the building with Steve Walsh coming up to me in the physio room and he was like, Steve Walsh introduced him to me. And like, oh, look, Aaron, we've got Haaland. You know his dad, Alfie, the Leeds boy. Hopefully we're going to have him here.
And I was like, oh, wow. I've not heard much of him. I think he was 15 or 16 years old and never seen him again. And I think they could have had him for two or three million. And I think Meshiri didn't sign off on that. And can you imagine Erling Haaland would have signed for Everton?
I mean, that is staggering, isn't it? Because, you know, you can say, Moshiri put a lot of money into the club, but he spent it on players who were not Erling Haaland. I mean, what a terrible, absolute miss. I think he was a bit unsure what the supply line was going to be from wide areas. I'll tell you, I think he looked at me and said, yeah, he's got no chances.
He must have been the wrong person to introduce him to. That is a staggering story, Michael, isn't it? And you just look at... I mean, you could run through the signings that were made in his tenure, the number of managers that came and went. I mean, I suppose you've got a stadium. You've got a very, very good stadium, which will open next season at the end of it. But...
I mean, it's just a sad illustration of when ownership can go wrong. And also after Bill Kenwright as well, who had been such a consistent figure at that club for such a long time. I think every time we've gone to cover games and...
end of seasons where you're looking at are they going to stay up uncertainty all around it was really difficult times and normally you want to go to Everton with that passion that desire all behind and the amount of players the amount of money that have gone wasted the unrest with supporters a nasty place at times because
the fans have wanted more and deserve more. I think that's for certain. And when this new stadium's come along, you're wondering, was it actually going to even have a team to go and play in? So today is a real shining light that finally there's a takeover and let's hope that it can be run in the correct manner and the right way to take it forward. I mean, when you think about it,
it's almost a generation has grown up if they have been born and brought into Everton families and being Everton fans of really knowing only chaos
at Everton, at Goodison Park, and as Ellie says, this revolving door. And now you can understand why Julia talks about it being a genuinely exciting time. And yes, of course, as we know from Newcastle United, there's going to have to be a heck of a lot of work done on what is actually allowed and what they're able to do. But clearly, after all of those years, and I think it's something like £750 million this year,
Farhad Moshiri spent... He's had his culture made out for some time to go work that out, let me tell you. That took a while. Is that not staggering that that amount of money has been spent and you see the...
the struggles that they have and I have to say I think Sean Dyche has done exceptionally well to get them to the point where they've got 15 points from 15 matches this season which is you know a point where there is certainly something to build on for them you know whatever would have happened but you know he I'm absolutely certain that he will be a steady hand on the teller won't he at this time when everyone's saying well what's going to happen you know we want him out the door
you know how he'll approach it? Well, he'll approach it exactly. He'll bat it straight back. He'll just say he'll continue on his role. He understands what is expected, his line that he's going to use. He'll say we're talking, we're ongoing, we're trying to make it better. I think he's very experienced in that sort of situation. I think it is disrespectful, though, because I think he's done a really good job under...
times where we've seen all that sort of cry for help we want to do better we want new owners we need more money is the stadium going to go is it going to stay it's just a real real problem all around and I just hope he gets time to see what he can do and that's the one I think there'll be a lot of managers who would not have 15 points from 15 matches in his position this season
Yeah, look, I played under Sean and Sean is the perfect manager for this club. The chaos that's gone on off the pitch, like you said, Sean Dyche is one of the best at handling that. He would not let that distract his players. And like you said there, they've got 15 points. But if you look at all the issues and all the noise going on, like you said, he's handled it really well. You literally palm that off. Listen, lads, we're getting on with it. Back to work. And like you said, you see the results as late. From
For me, Sean Dyche is the perfect man. And I think Everton have to look at this season. Is he fashionable enough though, Aaron? Do you know, because of his style of play, is he fashionable enough? Well, there you go, Brandon. That's the thing now. Like you said, people forget about winning football matches. It's about how do we play? How does it look? Does it look nice enough? But I think people forget nowadays. It's about winning football matches. And for Everton this season, it's about staying in the league. Like you said, they've got the new...
Yeah, absolutely. They've got the new stadium coming up and like I said, it would be a disaster for them to go down. So he said the only aim is about winning football matches and Sean Dyche has shown it. Like I said, they beat Wolves comfortably. To go and get a draw at Arsenal last week, not many managers, not many teams can do that and like I said, that was a Sean Dyche performance and that is what he'll give them and he'll get them points and he'll get them safe and I think they'll be more than comfortable this season.
Final word to you, Julia, on the free-kin approach to managers. I mean, they did it at AS Roma. They brought in Mourinho and then sacked him, didn't they? So are they going to be seduced by shiny kind of foreign managers or will they follow Aaron Lennon's advice? Yeah, that's the big question right now. But as I've said, I don't anticipate Sean Dyche going anywhere right now. It would make sense.
really given the situation with PSR doesn't change for Everton either so I don't anticipate an influx of players in the January transfer window either simply because Everton are on the brink of the PSR anyway so I think Sean Dyche will be in place
It'll be interesting. I would imagine they've probably looked around to see who they could bring in. There has been rumours where Jose Mourinho come to Everton. I know he's spoken about a return to the Premier League possibly, but whether or not he would manage in such a chaotic club that it is right now, I'm sure it will calm down under the freaking group. But all the fans want right now...
It's just, it's a run like a proper business. You've heard so many stories there, especially from Aaron. There's been false promises from Farhad Moshiri. He's spoken about, I'll bring you a striker in and a January transfer window ends and nobody's come in. And he only communicates with Sean Dice via WhatsApp. And then he fell out with his own board by bringing Rafa Benitez over the manager. And, you know, Bill Kenwright didn't want a Liverpool iconic manager coming in to Goodison Park. So just to run, carded,
calmly and like a savvy business right now that's all anybody wants thanks very much for listening next up on the football daily john will be back with alistair bruce ball and ian dennis for the commentators view
