In this week’s podcast, I’m talking with Rachel Braun Scherl) about Orgasmic Leadership and her journey as a Vagipreneur®, a person in the business of female sexual health and wellness.
As a nationally-known Vagipreneur®, Rachel’s work includes growth strategy, operational support and business development for companies in all aspects of women’s health, including birth control, menstruation, disease prevention, fertility, pregnancy, and arousal. Rachel has faced first-hand the discomfort in the women’s health category, the language used to discuss it, and lack of access to key marketing channels. Along the way, she has done a great deal of research on how companies can profit from women’s sexual health and wellness. Those findings and recommendations are the heart of her book, Orgasmic Leadership, Profiting from the Coming Surge in Women’s Sexual Health and Wellness.)
We talk about how things have changed in this space in the past decade, how the business of female health is really solving some big concerns that need better solutions. So to put it in perspective, 43 percent of women at some point in their lives have sexual concerns and difficulties. So almost half. Compare that to the 30 percent of men who have ED, and you’re talking about a 40 percent greater population of women who will experience sexual dysfunction yet there are many fewer options, a lot less conversation, and a lot less understanding about what it does.
We talk about some revolutionary products and services featured in her book and how they can improve sex life, and what is next in this space of female sexual health and wellness. As an accomplished speaker, Rachel is featured at leadership and entrepreneurship events at colleges, universities, corporations and conferences, including Stanford University Graduate School of Business, Duke University, The Fuqua School at Duke University, Yale School of Management, Barnard College, Johnson & Johnson, and Entrepreneurship Week among others. Rachel has appeared on ABC’s Nightline, CBS News and MSNBC, and been interviewed for major platforms including The New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Forbes, and CNN. Rachel has contributed over 4 dozen articles to The Huffington Post, and contributes to Inc.Her first book, Orgasmic Leadership: Profiting from the Coming Surge in Women’s Sexual Health and Wellness was published in May 2018, which highlights the successes and challenges that Vagipreneurs face and conquer as they build businesses that provide new solutions for women’s health and wellness.
