So if you're listening right now, claim it. Like consciously close your eyes and claim that wave of energy that I'm sending you right now. So today's episode is actually a topic that has been quite requested. I've been wanting to film this episode for quite a while and I feel like right now I am in a place where I can really speak on it because I have solidified my own routine and so I can give kind of like my own advice and something that has worked for me and my own experience and
So today we're going to be talking about how to establish a morning ritual that feels aligned with your soul. So I want to begin by just talking about and dabbling on why having a morning ritual is so transformative. Because there was a time in my life where...
I would wake up and I would just straight go on my phone, check social media, get ready right away, you know, go straight to my to-do list, think of all the things that I need to get done, all the people I need to respond to. And I was just not in the present moment. And not only did that spur so much anxiety in my life,
But when I began to establish a morning routine, I saw such transformation and positive change in my attitude every morning. Because I used to be the type of person that just like would grunt each morning like, ugh.
I have to do this. I have to go to school. I have to get this done. I have to get my chores done. I have to go to the grocery store. Like all these things that I just would think about straight away. And it was kind of like this cycle where I was kind of a robot. And I was going day after day after day thinking about my to-do list, all the things I need to get done, all the things I'm worried about straight in the morning. And it was like lacking a break and I was lacking some time for myself.
And something that I've heard since I've established a morning routine and I've told people about it, the biggest excuse, I'm going to call you guys out. Whoever's listening that doesn't have a morning routine, this is for you. The biggest excuse I've ever heard is I don't have time. Well,
Well, when you realize that time isn't linear and that your time and your energy depends on how you invest it and how much you dedicate it, then you realize that what you put out comes back to you. So if you don't have time to invest in yourself, if you don't have time to invest in your needs and nurture your soul each morning,
then how are you going to have time to hold space for other people? How do you expect the universe to invest back in you, to invest back in your dreams and your desires and your manifestation if you're not coming out with that same energy, if you're not coming in and saying, yes, I care so much about myself, about my mental health, about my well-being, and I'm doing this for me. And trust me when I say that I used to have that mindset too, where I would say, I don't have time for a morning routine.
I'm sorry, I just don't. And so I would skip breakfast, I would skip my matcha, I would skip meditation. And I just would go straight to my day like clock out. I'm in the dream world. And suddenly I'm on my way to school or on my way to work. And there was no balance. There was no interconnection with myself. And that caused a lot of anxiety and a lot of worry in my life.
And so it really comes down to how you invest your time and how you invest your energy because it comes down to you. When you become committed so hard to yourself and to your well-being and to your needs, nothing can stand in the way. And when I say nothing, I mean nothing. So for me, I've realized that I operate better. I'm happier. I
I get more done. I'm more creative when I stick to my morning ritual and when I honor it. So for me, a morning ritual is non-negotiable. I
I will not skip my morning ritual. It is just something that I do for myself and for my own needs. And I've learned that this is a form of self-love and this is the greatest act of service that I can do for myself. And I really want to empower you to do this for yourself because this is a gift. Establishing a morning ritual that you love is a gift.
One of the greatest gifts that you can give yourself that will set you off for your entire life. So before I would share like my own personal morning routine, I wanted to get into the energetics of things. So I was actually reading Becoming Supernatural by Joe Dispenza. And it's a great book, by the way, for anyone who's interested in the subconscious mind and manifestation and the science behind it. Amazing book.
So when I was reading the book, there was a section that talked about the exchange of energy. And basically, it was showing like this diagram, this cycle. So when you wake up, your energy changes. When you are asleep, you are deep in your subconscious mind, you are dreaming, you are in the subconscious, and so many things are happening on an energetic level. Now when you wake back up,
You are suddenly like conscious to your energy. And it is so important to give back and claim back all your energy back to yourself in the morning. Because what happens is we tend to give our energy away to a lot of external sources, to our bosses, to our to-do list, to our family, to our kids. We are constantly giving our energy away to external sources and
And the way that I like to look at us, like as humans and our souls is as flowers. So you are a flower. And in order for you to bloom, you have to water yourself.
And that sounded weird. But like in order for the flower to grow into a beautiful sunflower or a beautiful rose, it has to get watered. And that means you have to fill your cup up every single morning before you can give up to other people. Before you can empower other people, you must first empower yourself.
And so if you wake up every morning and all you do is give your energy away to the external instead of dedicating your energy and investing your energy back internally into yourself, you might feel depleted throughout the day. And that is why you might be experiencing anxiety and stress and you feel energetically drained throughout the day. It's because your energy is scattered.
You didn't pick it back up. And that is why it's so important to establish a ritual in the morning that allows you to claim back your energy and balance your energy field so that you will feel most empowered, you will be tapped into your creative essence, and overall you will be charging yourself every morning so that you can best show up to everything else in your life and all the people and all the opportunities that present themselves.
So this is why, like this is the energetics behind why you need to start filling up your own cup first. And this has nothing to do with being selfish because I think we are programmed and conditioned to believe that if we do something for ourselves or if we put ourselves first and we set that boundary, we are being selfish.
And I can tell you that you are not being selfish at all. You are actually being selfless and you are honoring yourself and you are being in service of yourself. And when you are being in service of yourself, you are then able to show up and be in service of others, which is why it is so important. Like I cannot stress this enough. It is so important to establish a ritual in the morning that makes you feel loved and worthy and empowered and gets you excited every day to get out of bed.
Like I get so excited about my morning ritual. I'm going to share with you guys like what works for me, but I get so excited every morning just to wake up and to do my little morning routine because that brings me joy. And even though I know that I might have something stressful that day or a big commitment that day, I know not to skip my morning ritual because I know that's how I balance my energy field and that is how I feel best throughout the day.
So I'm someone who's tried all the morning routines. I want to share with you guys what has worked for me. But I think establishing a morning ritual is all about you. It's about aligning with what works for you, with what brings you peace, with what brings you joy. And so to start off,
I want you to think about like the three things that bring you a big sense of peace in your life. Maybe it's yoga. Maybe it's drinking a cup of tea each morning. Maybe it's journaling. Maybe it's going on a walk. Maybe it's working out. Whatever it is, I want you to right now like close your eyes for a moment and just think about those three things. What brings you the most joy?
And when I say what brings you the most joy, I mean, what activities that you do with yourself on your own make you feel joy and gratitude? Because there are obviously some things in life like spending time with family or, you know, that involve external sources that bring us joy. But I want you to think internally right now. And I want you to think within yourself. What
What are the three things that you can do on your own that just make you happy and make you excited? Because those are usually the things that help us get out of bed, that gets us excited, that balances our energy. And those are the things that we need to dedicate time each morning to do. And I think it's really important to mention when it comes to a morning ritual, even just 10 minutes is better than nothing. That is something that I don't even remember who told me this, but somebody told me this like,
Five minutes of working out is better than zero minutes. And 10 minutes of having a morning ritual is better than zero minutes. And even if it's just 10 minutes, five minutes, even if it's an hour, like my morning ritual is about 45 minutes. But however long it is, it will create change in your life. I can guarantee it.
So now that we've set the groundwork, I think it's time for me to share my own morning ritual with you guys. And this is something that has worked for me. I've done a lot of trial and errors. I've tried every morning routine possible, probably. The 5 a.m. morning routine, the go straight to the gym morning routine, the hunger walk morning routine. I've done it all. And this is what has worked for me. And so if this resonates with you, I invite you to take it on for yourself and
And yeah, so let's get into it. So my morning routine is about 45 minutes. And I've actually found that for me, the best thing that works for me in the morning is being very contemplative and internal. So I used to be someone like I would wake up at around 530. I would go straight to the gym in the morning, I would just get in my car, go to the gym. And then I would come back home, cook breakfast and get ready for my day.
But I've actually realized that when it comes to my morning ritual, I need to do a lot more things that bring me peace and balance my nervous system. So usually when I wake up, I'll either brush my teeth and then hop in the shower. Or if I'm not hopping in the shower, I'll brush my teeth, wash my face, do the skincare, like really make it a ritual out of that, tapping into my divine feminine energy and
Then I'll usually head back to my room and open the window and just like allow sunlight to come in I'll like sunbathe like in the morning and it wouldn't even be outside It'll be through my window just like three minutes and I like to put on frequency music in the back or like Yoga flute music that really calms me just music that really sets peace and gratitude in my space I love to set the space of my room each morning. I have a
this little sage spray with lavender. So I usually sage and lavender in my room each morning to clear the energy. And as I said, like I'll sunbathe through the window, just like get some sunlight on my skin. It just feels so good. And it balances your entire circadian rhythm, which has so many health benefits.
So I do that each morning and then I'll usually do something contemplative and it really depends on my mood. So my whole thing is like I don't like to do the exact same thing every day because when it feels like a repetitive cycle for me, I start to lose interest. So I like to shake things up.
Usually in the morning, it'll either be like I'm reading a book. Right now, I'm reading Don Miguel Ruiz's little book of teachings. It's basically all of his essential teachings. His son wrote it. Right now, I read one essential teaching per day in the morning, which I've been loving.
and just like contemplating on what I've learned from that page and what I've learned from that essential teaching. My mornings also consist of journaling, specifically gratitude journaling. There's always a gratitude element to it.
But it really depends what I journal on depends every day. So sometimes I'll journal in the morning some affirmations or I'll set some intentions for the morning or maybe if it's like the full moon or I'm on my period and I feel like I'm carrying a lot of energy like I'll journal things that I'm ready to let go of and release.
I really like to do a thought dump in the morning and journaling really does it for me because what we tend to happen is like when we dream and we're asleep, so much energy is being exchanged and so many things are happening behind the scenes in our subconscious. So it's nice to just take a journal and do like a thought dump and a mind up and just any things that came up in my dreams. Like sometimes I'll journal about my dreams, which has actually been really interesting. I used to not do that and now I'm getting like a lot of
and downloads and in a way like messages from my dreams. So I've been kind of like contemplating them recently in my journal and just like journaling through them and trying to understand the greater message behind certain dreams that I've been having because I've been having a lot of vivid dreams. I don't know about you guys. That's another story. So usually after I journal and
will head downstairs to my kitchen and I will make myself a matcha. And this is like a whole ritual. Like my matcha is part of my like morning ritual. And if it's not matcha, it's like warm tea. It depends. If I'm on my period, it's definitely warm tea. I'm not drinking an ice matcha. Like I want to eat a lot of womb warming foods to prep my womb. But yeah, so usually it's like I'll drink a tea and a matcha or something and I'll sit on my table and
Finish up my journaling, finish up my reading. And then I love to incorporate movement because that really helps release. Because sometimes we have just energy that we need to release from our body that's been stagnant and scattered in our body that is ready to be released. And movement really, again, depends on what I'm feeling. I'm very intuitive. Usually there's an element of yoga to it because I love yoga. You guys know I'm a yoga teacher. So usually like I'll do some like gentle yoga stretches and
In the morning, just like open up my hips, open up my body, get the energy flowing. Sometimes I'll like go on a hot girl walk. I'll like listen to a podcast in the morning. It really depends on my schedule and how much time I have on hand. But the big thing for me is like I don't skip my morning ritual.
Even if it's five minutes, if it's an hour, however much time I have on my hand that day, I will honor myself each morning. And I think that's the one thing that if you guys can take something from this episode is this, is that no matter how much time you have, you can always take, even if it's three minutes to do a mindful breathwork meditation in the morning, just do that for yourself. You will feel so much more better and just empowered and so much more fulfilled when you do something for yourself each and every day.
Okay, so back to my morning ritual. Usually after a movement, I feel ready to start my day. It's like I start the way I see it. It's like a little pyramid. So I start at the bottom. It's like waking up, coming back to my body, coming back to the earth, grounding. That's another big one for me is grounding in the morning. Like I'll go out to my backyard and I'll just like put my bare feet on the ground and like
get the free electrodes and just like charge my body. That really helps ground me and ground your entire circadian rhythm and your hormones, especially as women. There's so many research and so much benefits to it.
But usually after the movement element in my life, you know, we got the contemplative part, the grounding, the drink, and the movement. Usually then I'm ready to start my day. I feel empowered. I feel excited. And I'm telling you guys that since I've started to commit to a morning ritual and have really established it,
I have seen so much change in my thoughts, in my emotions, and the way I respond to certain situations in my life, in my creativity. That was a very big one. It's like...
The days that I used to, I feel like days that I go on my phone and I skip my morning ritual in the morning and I just go straight to my to-do list and like answer emails and all the things that I need to do. I lose a creative essence. Like I'm not going to lie and I feel an emotional shift on the days that that happens to me, which is why it's become non-negotiable for me because I know that it makes me feel so much better and more productive.
People think that having a morning ritual will waste time in the morning because like you're not going straight to what you need to do. But I can guarantee you that having and holding space for yourself each morning will allow you to be so much more productive, will open your heart, open your mind and just bring so much more into
productivity, peace, fulfillment, and self-sufficiency into your life. Morning rituals will change your life. And the biggest thing that really changed for me, and this is for people who struggle with anxiety, especially in the morning when you wake up, is the phone thing. Because the
What happens, this is like the energetics of it again. Our phones are like energy portals, okay? There is so much information on your phone. The second you open it, you have all these notifications, all these texts, all these photos on Instagram, all these videos on TikToks, all these comments. It's like you are directly connected to all those energy. The second you open your phone, you are establishing all these different energy cords with people, with your contacts, with your emails, with your friends.
And that is why it can feel so draining to go on your phone first thing in the morning. It's because you are constantly giving your energy away to external sources. And that was the big thing for me. And that was also the hardest habit to establish for me. And you have to realize that having a morning routine is about consistency and
and determination and accountability. So some days, yeah, you'll be so excited about your morning ritual and you really wanna go meditate and you really wanna go journal. But other days, like that is the last thing you wanna do. If you had a crappy night before and you wake up, you might wanna skip your morning meditation or you might wanna skip your Hawker walk and go straight to your phone and check TikTok and check all your notifications.
And you might not want to do it. And you have to realize that that is when consistency and accountability comes in. It's passion plus accountability that creates positive change in your life. And usually the days that we want to skip our morning ritual and our morning routine and our commitments to ourselves each morning are the days we need it most.
And so when you find yourself, because I guarantee you will, because this happens to me too, of course, is on days that you find yourself feeling more off, feeling more depleted or unaligned,
Those are the days that I invite you to come back home to yourself and to do the morning ritual and to commit your energy back to yourself because that is when you need it most and that is why we establish a morning ritual. It's to empower us through the good and the bad, through the thick and the thin, through the tough and the good, through the pain and the power. It's kind of like have you ever had a day where you really didn't want to work out but
you went to work out, maybe you were sad that day and you just didn't want to get out of bed. And then you finally get yourself out of bed and you went to work out and you just had the best workout ever. And after that, you feel so empowered and just so high energy because you just had the best workout ever. It's just like, it's the same adrenaline rush of that is the days you skip your morning routine are the days you need it most. And so when you don't skip it and when you honor yourself and you say, okay,
I really want to skip it. Like the last thing I want to do right now is sit in 10 minutes and breathe and do some yoga breath work. But I'm going to do it anyways because I know it's good for me and I know how it makes me feel.
and you push through the ego and you push through the limiting beliefs and the emotions of, you know, the stagnancy and you do it anyways for yourself because you know how good and how empowered it makes you feel, I can guarantee you it can change the course of your day. Because there were days where I would skip my morning ritual because I was feeling off and the rest of the day was like...
you know flunked because that's how I set the day what you do first thing in the morning sets the tone for the rest of your day which is why it's so important to honor yourself each morning and to fill your cup first and that is what I want you to take away from this episode is I want you to feel inspired to create a morning ritual that makes you feel alive that enlightens your soul that ignites this fire within you that makes you excited about life
Because life is exciting. Life is cool. Life is fun. And we just have to do things that make us feel fulfilled. And so when you do something for yourself each morning, every day, 30 days, 21 days. You know what? Let's do 21 day challenge because it takes 21 days for a habit to form. 21 days of you committing to a morning ritual every single day, whether it's 5 minutes or 30 minutes or 2 hours.
21 days of you doing this challenge and let me know how it goes for you guys because I can guarantee you after those 21 days you will have all these new habits and you will get it's like the first thing in the morning that you do that's your first crave of dopamine so if you crave dopamine from your phone each morning because you go on social media first thing in the morning then the rest of the day all you want to do is go on your phone and crave the dopamine from the social media
But if you get your first hit of dopamine in the morning from meditation and from movement and from self-reflection, then you'll crave that the rest of the day. You'll crave that inner peace and that fulfillment. And that is why it changes the course of your day because you'll go around the rest of the day looking for ways to bring yourself that peace and that fulfillment. And that is so beautiful. And I can guarantee you that that will change your life.
Beautiful souls, thank you so much for joining me in today's episode. As always, feel free to DM me on Instagram if you have any topic suggestions for future episodes or if you would like to apply to be a guest on the show. I hope you feel inspired to claim your power today. Bye.
