Hello everybody and welcome to AfterBuzz TV, the after show for Chasing Life. This is episode 6 for Start Living. And tonight's episode was, had a little bit of fun to it, a little bit of like emotion to it, but I didn't like break down in tears like I have in previous episodes. Same here. Yeah. Yeah. There's like a few points where I wanted to cry just like a little bit, but other than that I was like...

Good. No tears. Yeah. No urges to cry. Now, I know on Twitter there was a lot of...

Hi guys, I'm Michelle Fee.

And so last week, April's mom found out about her having the cancer, and we kind of picked up on that from last week to this week. And her mom is kind of, I think, reacting like every mom probably would react. But I think for April, she kind of went from having this mom that kind of just left her alone most of the time to being like this super overprotective mom. Yes, I totally agree. I saw that the whole episode, and it

I was very annoyed by it. I mean, I understand that, yes, that's what all moms would do if their own child like had leukemia. But at the same time, she is again, she's 24 years old. She's old enough to like make her own decisions. So when she stepped in and like tried to do everything for her, it was just like, stop, like take a step back and reevaluate what you are doing here. Yeah.

Yeah, when they were with George and she was like, you need to know what's going to happen to you, how you're going to react, how you're going to feel. I was thinking, she doesn't want to know. She wants to go into it and not know how much it's going to suck for her. So let her. And her mom was just pushing and pushing it. And I felt so bad for her. Yeah, I think her mom means well because she does want her to know everything that's going on. But at the same time, I think April's scared for the reality of this.

And she just wants to take it day by day. Yeah. So it's interesting how their relationship is going to move forward and everything. And I think her having Dominic to go to and him not knowing has kind of been a relief for her. But at the same time, Dominic thinks that she's upset because her dad had this affair that she found out about. And I think it's been interesting to kind of see this play out because Dominic thinks she's like crying because...

of her dad's affair and he broke her heart and she has a sister, but she's really crying because her life is literally falling apart. Yeah. And so it's interesting to watch that she will go to him for comfort, but you know, it's, it's interesting little twist there. She probably, she probably does that though, because he, he's not, the rest of her family is kind of looking at her like you might die and I, I don't know how much longer I'm going to have you. So kind of sympathetic.

I feel bad for you, eyes. And he doesn't know, so he's just comforting. Just pure comforting, which is probably nice for her, having everybody else that she loves being so, oh my god, I don't know what's going to happen, and having that. And there was one scene where her and Dominic go out and they have oysters. Oh, good. And you could tell she was not about to do this, but she did because she didn't want him to know, and then she goes back to his apartment and ends up throwing up.

And Dominic's roommate is like, uh, I know you have an eating disorder. And she's like, bulimic. And he's like, oh, you're pregnant? Yeah.

I like how he asked. He was like, is Dominic the father? It's just so funny. I was like, that's your introductory question. It'll be interesting to see if the roommate even mentions anything to Dominic about that whole scene, or if it just gets swept under the rug. I could so see Dominic freaking out and him telling Dominic and Dominic being like, oh my god, she's pregnant, and then running after her, and maybe that's how it comes out. Who knows? Maybe.

We also, this episode, we got to see a little bit more of Greer and Brenna's relationship.

and last night I actually was texting Michelle because I missed last week's After Buzz Balls Out of Town, but I was like, what is going on with Greer and Brenna? Where did this happen? She's like, I don't know. And so this is an interesting relationship because Greer is part of the so-called popular kids, it seems like, where Brenna just kind of hangs out with her own people. She's edgy. She's edgy, yeah, and beautiful.

Greer is really kind of flirty with her. I don't... I'm not quite sure, but... She is. Yeah. Well, Brenna has already said that she's a lesbian, that Greer is. Yes. And I don't know, did you see the episode where they were, like, cuddling at the end of last week's episode? Yes, yes, I did see last week's. So I think that that was kind of their introduction. And then what's...

April's friend, Beth. Beth had kind of said, oh, she likes you. And you could tell Brenna was thinking, well, yeah, maybe she does, or maybe I kind of like her. But she didn't want to admit it, because she's totally not her style. Yeah. And she even mentioned at one point, I believe it was this week's episode, like, I think it was Beth who asked her, like, well, are you a lesbian, or are you straight, or whatever? And she was like...

You know, just kind of like tiptoed around the question and didn't really give a fine answer. Yeah. You know, and so I think maybe we'll see something blossom between these two. Who knows? I felt like she wanted to be with Greer this episode. Yeah. Karen's a nice guy and she likes him, but she felt like...

more drawn towards Greer, it seemed like. Yeah. Because she kept looking at her, and Karen showed up at the party, and Brenna was thinking, Brenna, you could see the expression on her face. She was like, this is not what I had planned. Like, I had planned to come to the party and hang out with Greer, not you. Yeah, like, why did you show up? Yeah, why are you here? Well, like, on the topic of relationships, if you look at it, it kind of seems like Brenna and April, they're, with their, I guess, original relationships that they started off with, you can see that they're

like, drawn away from them and going to other people. You know, like, I noticed that and I was like, are these two, like, on the same level? Because they, I mean, Brenda has Greer and then April is kind of veering towards Leah, which I'm...

I'm warming up to you now. Dude, I'm so glad. Speaking of April and Leo, Leo shows up to one of their meetings where April's kind of confessing at this meeting that she's scared for the first time. Like, she's really scared about losing her hair, going through chemotherapy, and all of this stuff. And Leo is actually late to the meeting and shows up and hears her confession. And I felt like this was the first time where Leo...

really felt some compassion towards her and really just like got it because in the past I feel like he was just like okay you know whatever you know I think he was like that because he thought that she didn't understand what exactly she was going through like she wasn't coping with her emotions oh that's a good point you know like normal people yeah I guess like she was just hiding it inside of her so I think that's when like that was a turning point for him and he's like oh like she gets it now yeah that could be

So that's interesting. Before we go on with their little relationship, we want to make sure that all of you go onto iTunes and make sure to give us five stars and comment. And if you watch us on YouTube, make sure to comment on YouTube as well and ask us any questions and we'll make sure to respond. And I don't have it right here, but also make sure to go out and buy Maria Menounos' new book, Every Girl's Guide to Diet and Fitness. I just picked up my copy and it's really good. I'm like a quarter of the way through, but definitely go and pick it up.

And so, going back to Leo and April's relationship...

I think Leo is really trying to bring out something in April after seeing how scared she is about going through the chemo and everything. And I think he wants her to feel like, you know, you need to live every single day. And I actually wrote down a quote that he said during the show. It was worrying about the future is not living. We live today. And I think that was just like perfect quote for this entire episode. Yeah, perfect quote.

quote for the whole show. For the whole show. Yeah. I mean, when he said that, I was like, I gotta write this down really quick. It was just, it was really good. And April and Leo, I'm not actually sure where this whole motorcycle...

Do one of you guys remember? It's after he had requested her for the Hendry interview. And they were shooting their commercial and then Leo storms out and she kind of follows him. Okay. So we'll go back to the Hendry after we come here. But Leo invites April onto his motorcycle and she's like, no, I'm not getting on this motorcycle. Like, are you nuts? And he's like, why? Like, why not? Like, come on, just live a little. Right.

So they end up going on this motorcycle ride, which then leads to them at a car dealership with a very expensive car. Yeah. And Leo's like pretending like he's going to buy the car and take it for a test drive. And the dealer salesman was like, okay, give me your license and then I'll go make a copy and come right back. Well, at this time, Leo and April get into this car and Leo takes off.

In this car. And his reasoning for it, he's like, we're not going to get in trouble. We have cancer. Yeah. I mean, who says that? We can steal a car because we have cancer. And it totally worked. It totally worked. But April made a good point. It doesn't help that he's, I mean, it does help that he's Bruce Hendry's son. And that probably got him out too. Yeah. And it was so convenient. It was. Yeah. So convenient. And then when he had a seizure, it's like, well, you're not going to put someone in jail that just had a seizure. Yeah.

for stealing a car. Plus, they returned it. I'm sure they didn't actually take it. So, it was gone for an hour. Yeah. No harm, no foul. Exactly. So, going back to April getting this exclusive with Bruce Hendry, I think that after, you know, her and this meeting and him overhearing and all that, I think he also, you know, thought like, okay, I screwed her, you know, two episodes ago at this little party that we had. Maybe I can...

kind of make it up to her and give her an exclusive with Bruce Hendry. And...

I don't know what your guys' thoughts on with this, but maybe they just didn't show very much, but it seemed like Bruce was very short or his publicist was like, no, okay, cut it after two questions. I felt like she really didn't get an exclusive. And then they were like, oh, make it off the record. Yeah, she was asking tough questions, so his publicist was like, no, no, I don't want him to answer that. And I think because most of the reporters, like Raquel, the girl who would have gone, I feel like she would have been like,

asking nice questions and kind of like painted him in a light and April's like no I'm a journalist I'm gonna get the truth and I'm gonna get the answers and tell you the things that people want to hear people want to hear about and his publicist I don't think she was expecting that especially because she's young and she's probably thinking oh she's inexperienced and

So she was like, she was asking all these tough questions and the publicist was like, this is bad. Yeah. She's not going to hear anything good from this. But I thought it was funny that Leo was, after this, he's like, you know, all the best stuff is off the record. Like, you know, kind of make a good joke out of it or like, maybe he could give her some more info. Uh-huh. So, who knows? Um...

There was also a scene after Leo had his seizure with his parents. And I felt like Bruce, for the first time, we saw get very, very emotional and talk about his son. Like, this is my only son. Like, I can't have him die. Yeah.

kind of thing. It was, it was an interesting moment to see his parents like that since we haven't really seen them in that light before. To be honest, when he first started, you know, saying that to April, it didn't sound very like candid. It sounded like it was a staged statement. That's what I kind of felt too at first. So I wasn't sure. Yeah. But then at the end when he like started to kind of cry, like that's what got me. Like I almost cried because he was like,

It's my only son. Yeah. Politicians are the best liars, though. True. You're right. He could have totally been faking it just for April. I think that he knew. Not to say that he was faking it. I'd like to believe that he was not faking that he would be sad that his only son died. But I feel like he saw April kind of see Leah screw up in the interview. And so...

He's thinking, oh, she can use any of this. She was there. She was there as a reporter. So he wants to kind of show her a different side. And that may be why he went a little...

True. Yeah. Upboard and his emotions for her. That's a good one. So after this little emotional breakdown from Bruce Hendry, they go back over to talk to Leo and he's missing from his bed, which, I mean, it doesn't surprise me. No, I loved it. I mean, that's just so him. So April then finds him on the rooftop where he looks like he's going to jump off the roof and commit suicide. And she's like, no. Yeah.

I saw that and I was like, no, you have like a whole season left. Like, don't go yet. Well, the funny thing, I was thinking the same thing. I was like, wait, didn't we do this in News and Gotham two years ago that he got extended? I was like, he can't die yet. We already know that he's going to be a locker. I was like, uh. I mean, it could have been flashbacks. Who knows? But she's the only character I can't.

I can't lose. I just can't lose his character. He needs to stay on. I'm very attached. I can tell. To Leo. I know. And also, the last scene of the show was April coming home from after this whole hospital visit to her house that her mom has completely went organic with, has...

I don't even know. Like, saran-wrapped everything. Basically. Yeah. It was a little overboard. I thought it was a sweet gesture that her mom was trying to make everything...

you know, suitable for her and make sure she had all the cleanest, you know, best possible things for her. But she, like, changed her diet and she changed her sheets and everything in her room. And that's something she could have talked to her about. It wasn't something that needed to be done right away. I mean, she's been had cancer for a couple weeks now or known that she's had cancer for a couple weeks now and it hasn't really affected her. So that could have been a conversation. Sit down, let's discuss what to change and then. But her mom's just so stressed that she's

The poor girl just wanted a waffle. I know. I was like, yeah, when I get home from work, that's all I want is a waffle, too. Yeah. That was funny. But, I don't know. Maybe her mom will come around in the next few episodes after April was not too pleased with this. So, it'll be interesting. Do you guys have any predictions of what might happen going forward in the next episode with her mom? And now, your AfterBuzz TV predictions.

Well, I'm still predicting about possibly Natalie Ortiz. I mean, I thought she was going to come up in this episode, but she wasn't. She's hopefully going to come up in the next one. And I really think that April and her mom's relationship is going to change drastically. Like, not for the better, maybe for the worse, because in this episode, she did keep that infertility thing away from her. You know, so I don't know.

That's a huge thing to keep from your daughter. Yeah. Especially when, I mean, if you want her to survive, you want her to be able to have the best possible life after cancer. Why wouldn't she want, if she wants kids, why wouldn't you want her to be able to have children? Yeah.

I think she's smart going to see a fertility specialist. Yeah, I agree. She can get eggs frozen, and then when she gets through cancer and gets married, she can have them make babies. Yep. I think that Dominic is going to find out in this next episode about the cancer, and I think that that's going to be kind of a turning point for her and her love triangle with Leo and Dominic. Maybe it'll push her to one side or the other, however he reacts. Yeah, I completely agree with you.

Before you said that, I was going to say in the next episode that I saw her and Dominic possibly kind of going their own ways. Not completely, but more so if she kind of leans towards Leo. But if she does come out, then I could see him...

reacting in two, you know, drastic ways as we've seen in the past. Yeah. You know, one hand, he said, like, you know, I can't deal with that. Yeah. Like, just, no, no, no. Or he could completely snap and be completely different and be like, no, I'll be there for you. I'll be a good boyfriend. So it'll be interesting to see...

how he reacts to all of this. And I think now knowing that Leo's terminal, that might be part of her decision too, that she's going to take that into consideration because as she's going through cancer, how hard is it going to be for her to watch if Leo does become her boyfriend, him die, because he's already said that's what's in the future for him. Yeah. Yeah.

So I think that'll be interesting to see. Should be interesting. And I believe you have some news and gossip for us as well. I do. After Buzz TV News. So ABC Family has their own line at Wet Seal. And they have all these different options that are inspired from characters from ABC Family shows. And now they have April's clothes. So you can find April's, all her cute little clothes.

conservative and work styles at Westfield. So you can dress like her. I love that. I know. And they're actually pretty cute. Are they? Yeah. Good. Oh,

I wonder if they had a say in what goes on or if it was their costume designer. It was probably their costume designer. Yeah. Because she's the one who kind of knows. That's true. Anyways. But she always dresses so cute. So cute. So, and she's always put together. I'm like, you're exhausted. How do you always look so cute? How do you always look so good when you're so tired? I know. I'm like, I have no excuse now. That's funny. Yeah.

All right. Well, tell everybody where they can find you on social media. You can find me at Kristen Strange on Twitter and at Kristen Aubrey Strange on Instagram.
