Founded with the CPR railroad in 1882, many of the early buildings from Brandon's history still stand, despite a fire bug burning down a dozen in 1913. The birthplace of goalie Turk Broda, Brandon was the scene of a tragic explosion, an air training centre, an internment camp and four Royal visits.
