Are wasps annoying or are you even afraid of them? You've probably already experienced being stung by one, which can be very painful and in some cases even life-threatening. Nevertheless. Wasps are important players in the natural balance. They contribute to pollination, control pests, serve as food for other animals and help to recycle nutrients in the ecosystem by destroying waste. Even though they are sometimes perceived as a nuisance, they are an integral part of healthy ecosystems. It is worth thinking about this: what is annoying to me is not only an integral part - i.e. it belongs there - but is actually very important for a healthy, balanced ecosystem. If we humans could choose in our inertia, we would probably often choose the comfortable and pleasant. But that would probably no longer be a healthy system. Therefore: if something annoys you, think of the wasps.
