The word temptation is rather old-fashioned and not really taken seriously in our society. At best, it is used in advertising slogans. For example, when it comes to unhealthy food or consumer goods that we don't need or can't afford. Then almost cynical or sarcastic slogans are written, such as 'The best temptation since chocolate' or similar. But temptation is a very serious matter that affects us all. It is a desire for something that harms us and often others. For example, the desire for revenge, to get back at others for wrongs we feel we have done, to take something away from someone, to have a good time at the expense of others, to avoid responsibility, etc. Resisting temptation requires steadfastness, backbone, strength and training. But it is worth it. You avoid damage, pain and the everlasting turning back on yourself and, in the end, guilt. Are you steadfast in the face of temptation?
