The ophthalmologist looks into my eyes using a combination of lenses and a very bright light. She then sees things that I can't see myself and that I have no idea even exist. She can assess whether my eye pressure is OK or not and then draw up a report on the condition of my eyes. Although I only see her once a year, she knows more about the health of my eyes than I do, even though I have been living with them 24 hours a day for over 55 years. I think that just as my ophthalmologist is best placed to assess the condition of my eyes and prescribe appropriate treatment, God can also look into my heart and assess my condition and help me if necessary.
