When I was younger, I used to be a major proponent of taking road trips. And I used to love getting out on the open road.
As strange as it is, I love the smell of hot asphalt. That rubbery burning smell. Something about it makes me want to drive a thousand miles to a location that I've never been to. Maybe it's something about the freedom of the highways. But I've taken countless trips over the years to places that most people have never heard of, and I recommend everyone take a cross-country trip at least once in their life.
That said, there is one trip, one of those cross-country trips, that actually haunts me. I think it was some kind of glitch in the matrix, but I really don't know. I'm submitting this as a glitch story because I have zero explanation otherwise. This was in the early 90s, I was in my early 20s, and I was on a solo road trip from east to west here in the states.
I'd pack my car with all my essentials, say my goodbyes to people that mattered, and I would set off on adventure, stopping and making calls at payphones along the way. The first couple days of the trip were uneventful. I was just going down the highway with my music, some truck stop food, and the joy of freedom. On the third day, though, is when things took a bit of a strange turn.
I was driving down a two-lane highway, a bit of a desolate stretch of road in the middle of nowhere. The sun was in the middle of the sky, making the shadows stretch across the landscapes, and making the air feel a bit heavier. I had been on a pretty empty stretch of road, and I hadn't seen another car or sign of life for a while. That's when I saw what looked like a person standing on the side of the road. He was tall, thin,
had long hair flowing in the wind. He almost looked like a stereotypical hippie. He wasn't wearing vivid colors or anything like that. He just looked a bit lanky, had big round glasses and long dark hair that was tied back. He had his thumb out like he was trying to hitchhike. I slowed down thinking that I could stop for him, but something about the whole situation gave me a weird vibe.
Something told me to keep driving and that he would be fine, and that I should not stop, so I kept going. As I drove on, I glanced in the rearview mirror and saw him continuing his travels on foot. He didn't seem upset that I didn't stop, so I wasn't going to feel bad about it. After about an hour, though, I was confused to see another hitchhiker. Not just another hitchhiker, but the same hitchhiker.
It was the same guy standing there with the same bag and the same outstretched thumb. He had the same long hair that was tied back and same round glasses. Same overall look. I couldn't believe my eyes. It had to be a coincidence. There was no way that the guy an hour back had gotten ahead of me. I hadn't stopped or slowed down, and I was going something like 70 miles per hour at this point.
For him to have gotten ahead of me, he would have had to have been walking faster than 70 miles per hour, or teleported. Obviously, this didn't help my creepy feelings about him, but I ignored it, thinking that I was just going crazy. Until I saw him again, about another hour later.
I know that sounds crazy, trust me, but I saw another man with the same tied back hair, the same brown shawl, the same lanky structure, and same outstretched thumb. At this point, I was freaking out, thinking that I was either losing it, or that I was at the butt end of the most well thought out prank in the world.
Was this seriously a bunch of similar looking guys dispersed along the highway at hour intervals? Just standing there to mess with people and making them think that they're seeing things? At this point, I decided that I needed to go ahead and get off the highway, and stop to get something to eat. Maybe I was just hungry, and my brain was doing something stupid.
I went for about 20 more minutes down the highway, making sure that there was no way that this man could catch up to me if I stopped. I pulled off, went to a Sonic's and got a burger for dinner. I sat there, ate my food, and then decided to get back out onto the road. I pulled out of the parking lot, back onto the road that led to the highway, and at the next corner, who else would I see but that same man?
This time he was at an intersection, not on the side of the highway, and he was just standing there with his bony thumb outstretched. This time I stopped, seeing this guy four times. There had to be some level of fate between the two of us, right? There had to be something that was happening that I could not understand, and we were supposed to meet."
My curiosity had taken over my fears, so I just said that I would bite the bullet and confront him. I pulled up beside him, rolled the window down, and asked him if he was okay or if he needed a ride. He nodded at me and walked over to my car and put his hands on the open window looking in. The whole time he walked up and looked around, he had the goofiest smile on his face, like he was the happiest he had ever been.
After a couple seconds of this, I guess you could call it analysis, he looked at me and said, "'What's your name, bro?' I told him that my name was Gabriel, but that he could call me Gabe, if he wanted, and he just kept his smile and nodded slowly. After a few more seconds of terribly awkward silence, he looked back at me and said, "'You know what, brother? I appreciate it, but I think I'll take the next one.'"
His voice turned a bit cold, and he pushed himself away from my car, telling me to have safe travels. I stared at him for a moment, but then told him to have a good day, and started driving off. It was an incredibly awkward moment, and a conversation that I will remember for the rest of my life. The rest of the trip passed without incident, and I didn't see that man again.
It was almost as if I needed to talk to him, like our simulation was telling me that, in order for me to continue, I needed to meet this random dude that I had seen hitchhiking in four different locations. And when I finally met him, he stopped spawning in, and I was allowed to move forward. It was a bit terrifying, not going to lie, but nothing really happened outside of that weird conversation.
I don't know if he was some kind of ghost or glitch that I had to address, or if it was all in my head and it was just four guys that looked identical. Like I mentioned, I guess it could have been a prank, but if so, that was the most epically coordinated prank to have ever happened, and there was no payoff for literally any of them. No matter what it was, it was weird.
And hopefully you and your listeners enjoy it. I just want to start by saying that I don't really believe in the supernatural and any of that weird stuff. I've never had any evidence that such things happening in my life personally, but this is just something that I can't explain at all with normal logic. It all started on a normal Tuesday morning.
I woke up, got dressed, brushed my teeth, made breakfast, and then headed out the door for work. The commute was the same boring car ride I always have, every single morning. I don't do much outside of work aside from the occasional bike ride around town to get my exercise in, so I'm used to how mundane everything feels. Well, I guess I was used to it. Everything on this particular day just kind of felt... off.
My car seat didn't feel right. The color of the car itself wasn't the normal navy blue. It felt brighter, more pale. The toast that I made didn't taste right. Maybe that was down to the bread going bad and me not checking before making it, I don't know. But there was definitely something wrong with the immediate world around me. Neighbors outside mowing lawns and walking their dogs. The dogs not being the same kind as I remembered.
The golden lab that my neighbor Gary had was seemingly replaced by a small Doberman. Maybe he got a new dog, I told myself. Gary also looked like he'd have dyed his hair blonde. I never knew him to be the type to dye his hair in the 15 years that I've known him. Midlife crisis, maybe? Regardless of all the weird stuff that my brain seemed to be picking up along the way, I got to work without anything making me stop in my tracks.
That is, until I got to my desk and noticed it was on the other end of the office. I asked one of my coworkers why my desk got moved, and they looked at me confused, stating that it had always been in the far left corner since before I'd started working there. That's what prompted my brain to dial in more closely. Everything around me was a shade too light or too dark.
one centimeter to the left or right, or was just flat out across the room from where I thought it normally would be. I felt like I was in an episode of The Twilight Zone, albeit a pretty boring and tame one compared to most of those topics. I tried doing my work for the day, just brushing off any inconsistencies I felt along the way. Then I clocked out for lunch. I went to my favorite sandwich shop, only to find it closed. Not just closed, though.
It appeared old and vacant, like it hadn't been occupied in years. I feel like I got pulled into a different world, one where everything was basically the same but just a little off. I called my boss to let them know that I wasn't feeling well, and that I wouldn't be coming back to work after my lunch break. So, I drove home, ignoring the obvious inconsistencies that I was experiencing.
As I'm walking up the steps to my apartment, I saw a woman coming out of it. It was my ex-girlfriend, whom I had broken things off with about a year prior, or thought that I had. "'What are you doing here?' I managed to blurt out. A look of confusion and hurt rushed over her face. I was already out, I just forgot my keys, but... "'Are you alright, babe?' she answered. "'Babe?'
Not only did my actual ex never call me babe, but even if she did, she wasn't my girlfriend anymore, so she had no reason to be calling me anything. I... sorry, just never mind. Having a bad day, where are you going? I decided to play along to see where this thing went. To work? It's Monday, you know, she said. Right, well, just have a good one, I guess, I said through a fake smile.
She looked at me for a second, contemplating if she should investigate further, but then she kissed me and left. I stood there for a few minutes, stunned, confused. After all the fights and the pain and the screaming, to feel a kiss from her again was so alien to me, but comforting at the same time. I walked inside and plopped myself on the couch. The room felt like it was spinning.
too much weird for one day. After about 20 minutes, my brain finally had had enough and shut itself down. I awoke about 8 hours later to my dark apartment. I noticed that my... girlfriend was nowhere to be found. Instinctively, I called her and when she picked up, I heard the same deadpan tone I had after we finally said our goodbyes for the last time. I hung up before she could even finish her sentence.
The next morning, I did exactly as the previous day, or any other day. Woke up, got dressed, made breakfast, and headed out the door. My car was back to its normal navy blue. The car seat felt like it fit properly again. The toast was even back to normal, and my neighbor Gary was walking his golden lab sporting his usual brown hair. I went about my day. Worked at the desk in the far right corner, where it always was.
Ate at the sandwich shop that hadn't closed down, and after that, I never saw another thing out of the ordinary to speak of. I have no idea what happened to me. My only guess is that I glitched out of my world somehow and ended up in a near identical one, but some things were slightly off, like the color of my car being a different shade.
Or an entire painful breakup that seemingly never happened. I guess I'm late to the party on this one. I'd like to share my side of things on the Fur the Loom story. Personally, outside of curiosities like the Berenstain Bears, me, I've personally thought most of this was hogwash.
As a huge Star Wars fan, I remember clearly it being "No, I am your father" with "Luke, I am your father" basically just used as a marketing phrase. I remember C-3PO's leg being silver. I remember most of these things correctly. I do remember it being Berenstain Bears, but it wasn't a big enough part of my life to make me start becoming paranoid or anything. When I was a kid, my family lived in Alveton, Kentucky.
My dad worked at Fruit of the Loom. It felt like everything revolved around this company when I was young. My dad worked as an applications manager. He'd bring home the IBM ThinkPads, PalmPilots, all sorts of cool technology that seemed light years ahead of the time to my elementary through middle school aged kid mind. We had tons of company family functions. He would bring home clothing.
Needless to say, the Fruit of the Looms logo was a huge part of my mind. I remember thinking the cornucopia was a loom, and distinctly remember my dad correcting me on that while laughing and teaching me what it actually was. I also remember doodling the logo while I was in class, and making the cornucopia as a bunch of spirals. I just found out about this Mandela effect this morning.
and I texted my dad, who has now long moved on from the company. I texted him the logo with the cornucopia in it, and said, You worked there. Do you not remember this as their logo? The response I got was, I did and do remember it. I then called him, and he asked why we were talking about something like this. I told him how I was watching the X Games this weekend, which was sponsored by them, and noticing the logo had it removed.
After going onto the internet and realizing it apparently never had the Corticopia in it at all, he got very defensive immediately, as if someone was calling him a liar and said, ''What do you mean it wasn't in the logo? I have things in storage with that logo stitched on it. I know I saw that thing every day for years.'' I explained to him what the Mandela effect was, which I don't think he quite understands.
But the logo thing got him very worked up. He's apparently still friends with a couple of former workers on Facebook. He's going to reach out to them today to see if they remember the same thing. To be quite honest with you, this is one of those freak-out moments from my life. I can legitimately say without a doubt that this logo used to be different. It's bothering me probably more than I'd ever thought something like this would.
It's like being told your parents' name suddenly is something different. I have no reason to remember this cornucopia being there. I didn't even know what the damned thing was until my father corrected me. Those are burned-in childhood memories that I know existed. Not just, "I folded the laundry so I know." I remember large models of the logo at family events.
I remember sitting in the damned cornucopia that they had. The more I think about it, the more it feels like a huge prank. I'll post with updates, if any, but thanks for hearing out my first post here. The OP then added an update to their post in the comments, and I will include that here. I'll quickly go over my call with him last night.
His co-workers still have yet to get back to him, the one that he's talked to in the past and usually gets back to him within a few days. I asked what years he was there. He said he was there from 1990 to 1998. His friends on Facebook included two bosses and two co-workers. He's not been able to find any personal items yet from the time period with any logo on them, and we talked about this at length.
Before the internet was widely used, there was no outside connectivity, at least with Fruit of the Loom during this period of time. Thus, the use of letterhead on project forms, memos, etc. was not a common practice like it is today. He did find a couple of memos that he kept, again, not emails, and there wasn't a letterhead on it for him to reference.
I guess there was a person there that every time he would push out an update, the whole system would go down. So, they made a joke memo for him to use that basically said, "I'm about to run program whatever, so get ready for it." Or something to that effect. He's found some items from the time period, but again, none with any logos on them. He did express that the company went through several hands, both while he was there and afterwards.
He distinctly remembers that while he was there, he remembers at least once the cornucopia going away for a period of time. Apparently this was a very stressful time to work there. Clothing in general was just starting to be outsourced to India at the time, and there was a large amount of pressure from Hanes. There were many times, especially during the course of these buyout transitions, where everyone thought they were going to lose their jobs.
He described the office as very barren in terms of branding. There was a logo outside that was small and one inside, but the offices were generally devoid of any branding. Branding largely was seen on the product itself or during the family events, which, to be fair, was everywhere. Again, the logo wasn't pushed out there on everything to the same respect that it is today.
and he made it very clear that Fruit of the Loom today is a very different company now than when he was there. He's still very adamant about the cornucopia, and has distinct memories of it. He also described several other in-house brands that he was in charge of. One was a brand specifically to be sent to screen printers who made their own custom shirts.
I guess, at least back then, they never would dare ship out Fruit of the Loom branded shirts to these people, as they thought back then that it would cheapen the image of their brand. They didn't make it very public at all that they owned these other sister brands. He did have photos from family events, but all of our family photos went to my mother and their divorce. I haven't talked to her for nearly ten years now,
and neither has he, outside of court appearances. So that's basically a lost avenue. My call with him was earlier than anticipated. Questions only started to roll in that I requested after the call was already completed, so I do apologize for that. When he said he would call me at 9pm, I honestly forgot about the 3 hour time difference and was taken off guard when he called at 6pm.
One last point that I would like to make. He is now 60, so this all happened in his 40s, i.e. this was well into his career and wasn't something that happened to him when he was young. He made it a point to note that he was old enough to respect and take note of aspects of the company, such as his branding, and he wouldn't have taken it so casually. He was fairly high up in the company and did not take it lightly.
Although he made it a point that Fruit of the Loom was the largest employer of the neighboring towns, Alvaton and Bowling Green. Basically, everyone knew the brand there. It was like Corvettes to some people in Kentucky. It was everywhere and everything as it was the main provider of income to the district. While branding internally wasn't like it would be today, people in general in the vicinity were very much aware of the brand.
both in name and logo, and would be easily remembered by workers, their families, and anyone else not associated with them but living in the neighboring towns. I feel like this is a very important point to bring up. Edit, I forgot to mention that he stated that nobody called it a cornucopia in the office. It was generally referred to by workers as the basket.
Thank you to the poster below for inadvertently reminding me of that part of the call. A couple of days ago, I answered a question on the AskReddit subreddit. The question being, "Hikers of Reddit, what has been the most effed up thing you've ever seen?" This is the story. It was the time I went to Niagara Falls. So, picture this for environmental reasons.
It's summer, two days before your trip to Niagara, and there's a bunch of rain that causes mudslides, and the day you get there, it's extremely sunny and hot. During this trip, my husband and I decided to go on a hike/walk through some easy trails on the Upper Whirlpool Trails, Niagara River Whirlpool. We went there because the trees provided amazing shade, and it's right next to the rapids of the falls, so it felt refreshing.
So we started going down the trail, and it started getting cooler and a bit harder to rein to maneuver yourself around, and my steel-toed boots started to weigh more for some reason. But the lower that we went, the fresher it felt, so that was no problem for us because it was hot up there, and fresher downwards, so we kept going.
but I guess we went a little too low because there was suddenly nobody around us. We came upon some signs and a little fence that told us not to go in that direction because there were mudslides due to the rain and we wouldn't be able to go to the Devil's Hole moderately safely. We weren't trying to get to the Devil's Hole. We're a bit superstitious and know not to venture too far in to disturb the woods.
And let's be honest here, a place that's called the Devil's Hole, plus some warning signs that said not to go in that direction, it sounds like it's straight out of a horror movie. I told that to my husband. He agreed. And then out of nowhere, this man is behind us. I have no idea how he snuck right behind us, or how he heard our conversation, but he said hi to us, and told us that he has lived there his whole life,
and some little mudslides have never stopped him. Then, he recommended that we keep going. He jumped the fence, and on he went to the distance of the trail. And for some odd reason, his presence calmed us. I guess seeing another human was reassuring, so we crossed the fence. The trails were really cool, literally. It was getting cooler the more that we walked, but my steel-toed boots started to feel heavier than before.
There were mudslides, broken trees, eroding rocks, and a mildly foul stench of decomposition. Maybe some predator killed its prey and didn't eat it, I thought. And, weirdly enough, there was no sign of the man that went in before us. We went right after he went, so... How was he that fast that now we couldn't see him? I had a lot of thoughts because of the environment. It felt so weird that it made me anxious and scared.
especially when I started feeling like something was staring at me. My husband was also feeling nervous, because he was walking faster and humming. He started to walk way ahead of me, and he saw it first, the hole, and when he stopped to look at it, I felt it. This immense flight or hide reaction
He felt it too, because immediately he grabbed my wrist before I could see anything, and he power walked us back the way we came through. I was panicking, because the look on his face was horrible. What did he see? I asked and tried to talk, but then he told me not to look back and to just keep walking straight. And I did. Why? Well, one, because I know better than to look back, and two, he wasn't humming.
I looked at him and he was quiet, but I could still hear the humming. Aside from the humming, everything was quiet. So quiet that I started to pay attention to the environment again. It was cold, the trees looked rather decayed than broken, and there was a decomposing animal on the side of the trail. What kind of predator kills but then doesn't eat their prey? And at this height, rocks shouldn't be eroding yet, in such an odd pattern too.
But especially what convinced me that something was off was that stare that I felt behind me. Once we got out of the forest, I didn't dare to ask, but once we were back in our state and I felt more secure, I asked what he saw and he wouldn't answer me, so I left it at that. Ignorance is bliss, after all, and I'd rather not burden myself with such knowledge. What happened in Niagara stayed in Niagara.
Before posting this, I got curious as to what my husband saw, and I showed him my comment retelling the story. And he stops and says, "...the guy wasn't coming from behind us. The guy came from the trail that led to the Devil's Hole." I refuted it by saying that, no, he came from behind us and that's what gave us a sense of security. Because, in reality, it did give me a sense of security.
In my mind, if the guy entered first, that meant that the trail must be safe and we wouldn't necessarily be loners down in said trail. While my husband argued that it made no sense, that he wouldn't have trusted that, that he felt more secure to go in because the presence of the guy leaving the trail made him feel safer, and that's why we felt compelled to go. But I argued that that would have probably freaked me out.
He promises he's recalling the events correctly, but I'm sure that I'm recalling it correctly too. Whatever it was, this random guy that appeared from either side convinced us to go in, and there were never any footprints left behind. It makes me wonder what truly happened in the woods that day. Do any of y'all maybe know where I can get said answers? Or have any of you have experienced anything similar? Or know what it could have been?
How can two people remember two different scenarios so vividly? And, for any curious people, yes, he did tell me what he saw when I asked. Apparently it was nothing impressive or cool, but basically he said that while he was walking ahead and trying to ignore that ominous environment, he gave one step to look, and he felt a tremendous coldness in a straight line. That's extremely abnormal in nature.
A temperature change like that just doesn't happen. And when he looked forward, there was nothing in sight, but he wasn't going to wait for anything to appear, and his gut told him to run away. That's how we ended up getting away from that trail and out of the woods. And that's it. Hey Raven, I just wanted to start by saying how much I love your podcast. It's seriously become a highlight of my day, and I always look forward to listening to it.
Your storytelling skills are incredible. Thank you very much, Rebecca. Now, let me share this crazy story with you. So, I'm from another country, and every summer my husband, our four-year-old daughter, and I head overseas to visit my parents. Family time is a big deal for us, and since both my daughter and my mom have birthdays in September, we always plan our summer vacation to coincide with those special occasions.
This year was no different. After all the birthday parties were over and just before we were about to head back to the US, we decided to take some epic birthday pictures with the whole family. We set up in my parents' front yard, decked out with balloons and all the festive stuff. We were all posing and snapping away, having a blast. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed this girl in her twenties strolling by with her dog.
Now, I gotta tell you, I've never seen this girl before in my life, and I pretty much know everyone in our small town. But, hey, I didn't pay much attention, and we went back to capturing those precious moments. As I was focusing on taking individual shots of my daughter, this girl suddenly stops and comes over to us. She asks, Hey, do you want me to take a group photo of y'all?
Well, I appreciated the offer, but I let her know that we already had plenty of group shots. No harm done, right? I then went back to my task at hand, but here is where it gets weird. She just stood there, still lingering around like she had something else to say. I couldn't quite figure it out.
Finally, I turned to her and she asks, Hey, isn't your husband in the Air Force? Can I ask him some questions? Now, that caught me off guard. I looked at my husband and he's such a friendly and talkative guy, so he didn't mind at all. They started chatting away and I watched as my parents slowly made their way inside to prepare dinner with my daughter following closely behind. Now, here's the kicker.
As I joined my family inside, my dad tells me that he knows this girl. Apparently she always asks him about how I'm doing and when I'll come to visit. But get this, I have never, ever seen her before. And let me tell you, our town is pretty small, and we mostly have Caucasian folks around here. But this girl, she's stunning and looks South Asian. So I'm positive that I would have remembered her.
Trying not to dwell on it, I decided to help out with preparing dinner and setting the table. I pushed the weird encounter to the back of my mind, but as we were halfway through our meal, my husband was still outside talking to her. My mom, bless her heart, suggested that we invited her in for dinner. I mean, she seemed nice enough, so I went outside and told them to continue their conversation inside. Turns out, her fiancé is also in the Air Force.
And, lately, he's been acting strange. That's why she was bombarding my husband with questions about how to help her fiancé and all that. Once everyone was seated and my husband started eating, the girl turned her attention to me. And here's where it gets even crazier. She starts reminiscing about how we used to walk to the bus stop together when we were around 20 or 21 years old. But here's the thing about that.
I always walked to the bus stop alone. I never, ever walked with anyone. Yet she knew all of these details about my job back then and everything. It's like she had insider information on my life. She even knew my name and that I had moved overseas. I'll be honest, Raven, the whole situation was just plain bizarre. She ended up staying for what felt like an eternity that night.
like she didn't want to leave. Meanwhile, deep down, I was desperately hoping that she would get the hint and find her way out. It was such a peculiar and uncomfortable experience, I can't even begin to explain it. Well, after she left, I couldn't stop thinking about the things that she told me, so I asked my dad about her again, and like he told me before, he sees her all the time out with her dog.
He says that she's super nice and always asks about me, making sure that I'm doing well. He told me that she is the daughter of the guy down the street that we always talked about when I still lived there. We talked about him because he never greeted anyone, and he just seemed grumpy. But never did anyone mention a daughter back then, and I also never saw one. Apparently she's even older than me, so she indeed must have lived on our street before I did."
I still do not remember ever having met her, and I have a great memory. I even remember details from elementary school, but I can't remember a single thing about her. Never even seen her at a store, a party, or school, and we all went to the same school in town. It's just so bizarre, and it feels like she knows me from a different reality or universe, but I never met her in this one.
It's like a glitch in the matrix or something. So, there you have it, Raven. This is the mind-boggling story that happened to me, and I just had to share it with you. Keep up the amazing work on your podcast, and I hope you find this story as intriguing as I did. If you have any thoughts or questions, let me know. And thanks for being such an awesome storyteller.
Let me say that I have too many freaky things happen long before I knew anything about glitches. I'm talking like 40 years ago. But as a kid, memories and events are perceived in a way far different than the adult mind. I'm not saying that they're false or unimportant, just saying whenever you get older you learn and gain experience. Well, some do.
I've experienced so many glitches within the last ten years that it seems to be gaining momentum. I think once your eyes are open, and you experience something like this, you have two choices. Turn a blind eye, ignore it, and find any way to dismiss it, or the other option, which is to embrace it and strap in.
You need to be prepared because you may not get a second chance to return to that ignorant bliss of denial. This was my way of seeing it until recently. It seems if you keep going down the rabbit hole, it can affect others close to you, but it seems that others can be dragged down into that rabbit hole with you. Like for instance in the one glitch where my friend who I was on FaceTime with was a witness.
Now, when I was younger, another friend was directly involved. They chose to opt out. Although one doesn't deny what happened, he totally refuses to talk about it. The other admits to it, and simply doesn't care or think about it. Now comes my closest friend who passively is involved with many of my glitches, although she wasn't directly involved nor a witness.
They took place in close proximity. At the very least, she is the first one I tell after I do experience something. That is, unless I experience something at her house. Then I don't usually say anything. Because it freaks her out. She's the kind of person who opts out of this stuff. She knows it's a thing that some people believe, but doesn't know if it's real, psychological, spiritual, or just Twilight Zone stuff.
Either way, unless she is directly involved in an eyewitness, she's pretty much my agent scully. Now to the glitch. I've been staying over at my friend's house while my house is being renovated. I'm a night owl on most nights. I'm up until 2:30 or 3:00 AM sculpting, drawing, just making something. It's my compulsion and my stress reliever.
I would have to say spending time with my goddaughter is number one on my list of things that brings me peace, the second is my quiet time doing my sculpting while listening to narrated stories on YouTube. Also, everything and all things to expand my mind. Quantum physics, cosmology, history, and so on. Well, just this week, I was doing a late night project.
I was listening to YouTube on my phone, and it just goes dead. Totally shuts off. It wasn't full battery, it was on around 30% when I last checked the time at 1.53 or 1.56 AM. It shouldn't have died minutes later as it did. It has that warning chime of low battery. It's at like 15% and then at 3%, and neither one went off.
Within one, maybe two minutes after my phone died, there was a really bright flash of light behind me. I was in a well-lit room, and it was bright enough to make me jump and squint my eyes. I turned around really quickly, and nothing was there. The flash of light was so close to the back of my head, it was as if someone took a picture with the flash on while holding the camera an inch from the back of my head.
I don't jump to wild assumptions, regardless of what some assume. I went against what I experienced and saw, and I just went to the logical conclusion. It came from outside a window, a few feet behind me, but I can actually debunk this idea. The window was about 95% closed with the shade totally closed and a big box fan. In front of the fan, there are a bunch of sculptors.
To add to that, I was on the second floor. A car's headlight can't reach that high and be that bright. In order for light to penetrate a closed window through a closed shade and a box fan, and sculptures, and still be that bright is impossible. The other possibility is that it was a neurological or optical illusion. Okay, I thought. I'll go with that.
Well, that explanation ended when my friend told me what happened at around 2.10 or 2.15 in the next room that same night, minutes after that flash. Now, bear in mind, I didn't tell her about the flash because of my standing rule that I mentioned earlier. Don't tell her stuff that happened in her house. That will freak her out. But this is what she told me. She was up,
on her phone, and talking to a family member that was going through an emotional trauma. My friend was sitting up in bed with her five-year-old daughter next to her sleeping. My friend then saw two orbs floating around the room, a few feet from the foot of the bed. Now, I asked direct questions, so I have a detailed description of the event. My friend saw them, and did what she does in a situation like that.
She ignored them, acted like she didn't see them. She said she didn't react, didn't do anything besides talk on the phone. She said she thought she was seeing things or that it was all in her head. But then she heard her daughter ask mommy, what's that? My goddaughter woke up and saw it as well. My friend said, just ignore it and go back to sleep.
They floated around for a few minutes and then disappeared in the blink of an eye. The description: there was two of them and they were independent of any surface, so they weren't reflections or light being cast from anywhere, onto anything. They were typical colors of light, white light. They were not super bright, but in a dark room they clearly emitted their own independent light source.
They were the size of a golf ball. They didn't give off static energy, and they did give off a sense of self-awareness. It was like watching them was almost like watching living beings. I asked what they were doing, and they were wandering around like when two people go somewhere new. At times, they moved along with each other, and then one would wander off a little ways, and then come back by the other one. That is how she told me.
It's like when we go to the store, we walk together having a conversation, and then one of us walks off to look at something. While writing this, that same friend called with her daughter close by, so I asked for clarification on some things that I mentioned earlier. My friend told her daughter not to look at the orbs after she asked what they were, but she didn't listen and kept looking at them anyway.
She said they were the size of her squishy light-up ball toys, so more the size of a golf ball except slightly bigger. I know exactly what she meant. My friend didn't see them disappear because she forced herself not to look at them. Her daughter saw them disappear. She described it as a click or a blip and goodbye.
I asked if they floated away in a particular direction, and she said no, they just went away. So, they disappeared like shutting off a light. They confirmed that it gave off a weird energy, a feeling, not like static electricity. The feeling lingered even after they disappeared from sight. I did a full investigation of the room, even though they said they were free-floating and independent.
still checking for light sources, reflections, all of that, but nothing. I asked if it was possible that it was something like a laser or a light from outside, but no. The windows were closed, shades were down with heavy blackout curtains in front. These curtains will even block out bright sunlight. Even with that, my friend said that her first reaction was to hit or shake the curtain behind her,
to check to see if there was a light leak that was the source of the orbs. It didn't affect the movement, or light emission, or the orbs at all. To preempt some questions, no, there's never been any paranormal activity or ghosts, or otherwise, witnessed by them in the almost ten years they've lived there. No, they don't believe or think about the paranormal,
They totally don't believe in aliens. I can rule out ball lightning, because there wasn't any static electricity in the air, and my friend is really sensitive to electrical fields, but she didn't feel anything like that. No, they weren't insects because they were translucent and had a well-defined shape, not fuzzy or blurry, and they made no sounds.
I will answer any serious questions about this. I'll ask them an update if necessary and reply directly. I personally never believed in orbs, because they almost are never seen with the naked eye. They only appear on videos or in still photographs, and can typically be dismissed as light reflections off of dust.
The only people that I have heard that claimed they saw them with their actual eyes were on ghost hunting shows, and they have been proven untrustworthy or ignorantly biased. But my friend that I have known for like more than 30 years, we are so close that she named her daughter after me, and I have a common traditional male name.
Yeah, we're close, and she's a non-believer in everything paranormal, holds a level of credibility that I can't refute, and she had a witness sharing the event. When it all adds up, I can't say it didn't happen. What happened I can only speculate and classify as a glitch. And I do have a wild speculation. What if I caused the orbs?
That flash of light was so intense that came from behind me. What if it came from me? If we're in a simulation, wouldn't people like me who repeatedly have big glitches call attention to our existence? What then? Cosmic tech support? A reset or reprogramming? What if we aren't in a simulation? Do people like me act like magnets or portals?
There's no other way of saying this next part without sounding like I have a god complex, or the Truman Syndrome. And yes, there actually is a disorder based off the Truman Show, look it up. But throughout history, there are stories of people with halos. I'm not saying I'm an angel because I don't believe in them, but what if they are based on people who are more like me than I understand? That light that came from the back of my head?
only seemed to have come from the back of my head. Maybe somewhere in my pot of goo, I have a data leak from the port in the back of my head. I laugh at this concept. Okay, I need a little break from this. As I said, the Halo Angel part, I saw something at the corner of my eye run behind me, and that was twice in five minutes, and I'm at work alone because it's the holiday and everyone is off except me.
I know this sounds paranoid, but I think I'm no longer anonymous. Sorry. I need to distract from this for a while. So, uh, how about that Spider-Man movie, huh? This happened back in the late 70s, long before the Matrix was conceived of, or the Wachowski brothers had hit puberty even. So my friends and I just chalked it up as weird to set the scene for
Disco was at its height, and my friends and I were just of legal age to go nightclubbing and drinking. Not that we'd not done it illegally before then. And Saturday nights consisted generally of a group of us meeting up at our local neighborhood pub, in the suburbs, and then heading to the city center to whichever nightclub got the majority vote that night. Me being a bit older than my mates...
I was the only one at the time that had a driving license, so it usually fell to me to be the transport for the group, okay? My car wasn't the latest thing, about 12 years old at the time, but it got us where we wanted to go, for the most part. On the night that this event happened, there was myself and my two long-time best friends, plus the girlfriend of one of them.
We decided to go to an out-of-the-way club that was situated in the back streets of the "business" section of the city center. Law offices, insurance companies, banking, etc. So, on a Saturday night, the streets were relatively clear, making for easy on-street parking. The few other cars parked around probably belonged to other late-night clubbers like ourselves.
The section of town is laid out like this, long downhill sloping main streets that are paralleled to each other, with shorter side streets linking them, block by block, down the entirety of their lengths. It was typical of that part of the old center, Birmingham, UK, and the mostly Victorian era multi-story buildings.
So, we all arrive, and I park the car in a space about halfway down the side street, which was literally around the corner from that evening's chosen club. Great, not too far to walk, we all agreed. Because of that, we all left our coats, and that girlfriend's overnight bag, on the back seat.
Being a car from the 60s, there was no such thing as central locking, and car alarms were custom specialty items back then, so I had to go around locking three of the four doors from the inside, and then my driver's side door with the key, and then checking all the handles outside. Car crime wasn't really bad in those days, but it still happened, so I always had a mind for security.
Plus, I was carrying my work toolbox and power tools in the boot, so that was firmly locked as well. That done, we all walked around the corner, left and up the slight gradient past two or three office frontages, and left again into the front door of the club. After a great night with me disco dancing most of the night with any girl that was keen, or even on my own—hey, it was the 70s—
The club was beginning to turn out, slow dance tracks from the DJ heralded the end of the fun, and we all gathered to leave. As usual for those days, having spent the night frantically dancing, I had sweated out the little alcohol I'd consumed, and was easily safe to chauffeur my pal's home.
We left via the main, and only, door, and, as a group, turning right and down the slope to the next corner, to where we knew we had left the car. My heart sank when I turned that corner, though. The street was completely empty. Oh, crap, and other choice words. We all said, mostly the same thing at the same time, ''The car's been stolen.''
It had been right there, at the curb, facing the corner that we had just come around. There was a lot of what-do-we-do-nows and me worrying that not only my car but all of my tools were gone. What made it worse? Being the young bucks that we were, we'd blown through most of our meager funds during the night out, and probably couldn't even scrounge up the bus fare home between us.
First things first, after much head scratching we all agreed that it was best to report the theft as quickly as possible. It was the days before mass communication, but there might be an outside chance that the car could be spotted by a patrol car, panda cars they were all called back then, and not many of them compared to today, while it was still being driven, and this meant a hike to the nearest police station. Remember, no mobile phones back then.
which was on the other side of the city center, quicker and easier than finding a call box or payphone in this part of town, and at that time of night. So, we all set off dejectedly in that direction, which meant continuing along the short side street that we were on, to the next parallel main street, and up that long hill to the major road that joined all the main streets together, at their top ends.
Then, it would be a diagonal cut across the city center proper to the police station by the law courts. There was little conversations, but mostly it consisted of, ''Are you sure you locked it?'' ''Yes, I'm bloody sure I locked it, I'm not stupid.'' Etc. And then wishing the worst curses on whoever had ruined our Saturday night. We had made our way onto and partway up the next main block-
passing another side street to our left. Then, during that next block, we decided to zigzag up the streets to make our route a little shorter and roughly diagonal in the direction that we needed to go. By this time, the chill 2am air had sobered up even my two friends and the girlfriend, and we were just stomping along to get the thing over with as quickly as possible.
As we simultaneously rounded the left corner to the next short side street, we came to a dead stop. There was my car, parked neatly at the curb, in a parking meter space and not looking at all abandoned or trashed, as if by joyriders. I know what that looks like, having been the victim to a subsequent car theft. It was all as we'd left it, fully locked, and with all of our belongings as they had been.
Nothing had been rifled through, and thankfully all of my tools were still in the boot. Not so much as a hair had been touched, it appeared. We all looked at each other, double-taking and glancing back all along our route, in kind of a... what the... sort of way. But it didn't take us long to rally ourselves, put on our warm coats, and get underway, merely thankful that we didn't have to continue the grim march to the police station.
We talked about it for about the next hour or so, and all the way home as I made the rounds to their individual houses, but we could not come up with a logical explanation. A 60's car was fairly sparse in terms of ignition security, but it still would have been a fairly skilled task to hotwire it, and it would have left some evidence of tampering, which was not the case.
Likewise, the doors, not as difficult as today's cars to be sure, but still requiring some small skill or keys to overcome the locks. And then, why would someone steal the car only to abandon it after a couple of blocks? Or leave the valuables untouched? We all knew where we had originally left it. There was no dispute about that, nor individual false memories forced on the others.
We all headed towards that side street as we'd come out of the club, after all. We couldn't all have been that mistaken. And I have always known where I last left my wheels. I couldn't afford to be without them for my job. Bear in mind, we found the car one main street and two side streets away, uphill. So it didn't roll there by itself, nor could it be merely pushed there.
I always left the stick shift in gear in case the handbrake failed, a sensible precaution on old cars, which made it nigh on impossible to budge, as well as the fact that it would have needed to have been steered around the corners, necessitating access to the inside. Added to that, the car was facing in the opposite direction from how we had left it when going around the corner to the club. If a thief had taken it,
They were a very neat and tidy person, leaving it exactly in a meter parking space, much as I would have done had it been me that put it there. Well, we never did report the incident to the police, and although we discussed it a few times in the following years, we never came up with a satisfactory explanation other than the OCD thief theory.
But I guess that now I've found out about glitches in the Matrix, I can finally file this one away as solved. We all stepped out of that nightclub into a slightly different version of the Matrix. Simple as that. Hi Raven. The story that I'm about to tell you actually happened today, and I immediately knew that I had to submit it for background.
My husband and I moved into our new place almost two months ago. We love it here, but we decided to do this move all on our own without any help, so it's been rather slow and at times straining. I work from home, and I also happen to be super handy.
So while he's been at work, I've built all of our furniture, decorated everything, have unpacked all of the clothes, and more on my time off, which is quite more than him. He helps me whenever he can. I more than happily have taken control over everything. My husband letting me do all the decor? This woman says yes. I'll get into it now.
So many of our clothes still need to be put away in our closet. We also had to get rid of many things. We both just have too much. And sadly for him, about 50% of his shirts that no longer fit him. He's been needing more t-shirts. His 28th birthday was a few weeks ago, and one of the many things that I got him was a black t-shirt that said, "'Born in 95.'"
I was born later the same year, so I also got myself the same born-in-95 shirt, but in grey. I've seen him wear it a few times already, and I'm glad that he loves it. Here is where things get goose bumpy. Today we woke up at the same time. I got up and went to use the restroom while he changed. Today he wasn't working. When I got out of the bathroom, I noticed that he had put the shirt on.
We went down to eat breakfast, and towards the end of breakfast we joked that I should put mine on as well, and we could match for the day. It's something that we haven't done before, and the joke became a "let's do it" thing. I have so many hampers of clean clothes to put away still, three of which are in our bedroom. I remembered unfolding my t-shirt while standing on the side of our bed and putting it away in the closet.
but it wasn't in the normal part of the closet where the t-shirts are. I remember it being there because I wanted to wear it soon, and so I kept it separate from the rest. So, I told him, "'It shouldn't be too hard to find it in the mess. I remember folding it and putting it in the closet from one of the clean hampers the other day. He said he couldn't wait for me to put it on. We then went upstairs so I could change and get ready for the day.'"
When I get upstairs, I go to the closet and it's not there in the spot that I had left it, which was the bottom drawer which is normally his sweatpants drawer. I then start to have the weird feeling that I might have dreamt it, and that it was one of those instances where the dream was so real that I confused it for reality. My husband is laying on the bed and I tell him, "Hey, I could have sworn I put it here and now it's not there."
I'm going to start taking out the clothes from these hampers and fold the easy things until I find it. It has to be here because I washed it. He replies, Okay, I'll be here, love. Take your time. I laughed. Might as well make something productive out of this. And he replies, I love it, and I'm proud of you. I hadn't worn this shirt since a few days after it came in the mail several weeks ago, so I was excited to find it.
I made it a mission. About 20 minutes later, quite a bit of clean clothes are now folded on the bed. That's when I sat next to him and told him, I literally folded it the other day, and now I'm questioning whether I dreamt it or not. He stated, Yeah, I remember you folding it too, just the other day, and putting it in the closet in that separate spot, bottom drawer. I said,
I think it was just a dream that felt real, but it feels like a genuine memory that I had, so that doesn't make sense. Like I remember it. He then says, Yeah, now I'm feeling the exact same way. It feels like it was now a dream of mine too, but it feels like it was a literal memory, not a dream. I remember you doing it.
So, now at this point, we came to realize that we both either had the exact same dream, but from our own points of view, or have the same implanted memory that never actually happened. I mentioned in a lighthearted manner, we always talk and joke about what we're doing together in parallel universes, but what if something happened to both of us in that one, and we're now here?
and we're both just having identical shared memories together from that one. His face actually got serious and he said, "I actually think about it all the time. All jokes aside, I actually wonder." I also mentioned to him how I've occasionally been seeing bright split-second flashes of white light, like if someone was taking a picture from a camera. A camera, like Flash. He went on to say that he's been seeing the same flashes too.
This is when we both sat there and realized that this memory was real, but that it didn't happen. Not in this timeline. I get goosebumps. Alright, well, I'm gonna keep taking out and unfolding the clothes until I find it, I guess. We have to match today, I said as I hopped back off the bed. I walk over to the hamper and picked up a shirt that was inside out. When I flipped it over, it was THE SHIRT.
It was oddly the very next item of clothing I picked up right after just having this revelation. I pulled it out and my husband got very wide-eyed. That's actually wild. There's like 90 pieces of clothing in these hampers and you found the shirt right after we just had our wild conversation? I got so many goosebumps. But my emotions were also mixed with excitement because we were now able to match today.
I threw it on, but I thought about it a lot throughout the day. I truthfully think that we had memories from a parallel universe that something had happened to us in, and I wonder if his memory of it is what subconsciously also made him wear that shirt today. I had just recently purchased my house, and my old washer and dryer wouldn't fit. Plus, they sucked.
and my wife hated using them, so she sent me on a mission to buy a new set. I did not do my research, and as I'm standing in the Lowe's Appliance Department coming to grips with what I'm up against, my contractor neighbor walked up behind me. He helped me pick out the exact units that I was going to purchase. I bought them, and then life got weird for a few minutes. When I got to the truck, with my two large boxes...
There stands my neighbor waiting for me. I thought he was waiting to help me load them, but he just looked at the boxes and said something like, That's a gas dryer. You don't have gas. I bust his balls for a couple of moments about helping me pick the wrong units out, and it was as normal an interaction as I could have had. I went inside to do the return walk of shame on the items I literally never even left the parking lot with, and my neighbor walked to his truck.
I'm at the return counter. The girl behind the register asks me my name. I told her and handed her my receipt from five minutes prior while explaining the situation. Without even looking up at me, she says again, "Name?" I tell her my name a second time, and she says nothing while typing into the computer. In comes my neighbor to the return desk with a gallon of paint. He waits in line behind me, saying nothing.
The girl behind the register looks up at me and says, Name, sir? I tell her my name for the third time, pointing to the receipt on the counter, and try to explain the situation again. She types into the computer some more and, for what was probably a solid minute, says nothing at all. Another girl at the return desk finishes with another customer and comes over to help. The new girl says to me while they both stare into the computer screen, Name?
Fourth time. I give them both my name, without taking their eyes off the screen. The new girl says, and I kid you not, I'm sorry sir, but you don't exist. I got sort of lightheaded after she said that, because I was already thinking how strange this was. I said back, I don't exist, or I'm not in your system.
Without answering me, the second girl says to my neighbor, Sir, I can help you over here, and moves to the next register as my neighbor walks past me, and, without another word to me, returns his paint and walks out the door. Then, almost as if nothing weird had happened, the first girl just says, Well, here, my name. Here's your return. You'll have to purchase the new ones, and we'll refund you for the ones you mistakenly purchased."
Without even going back to appliances, there behind me stands a guy with the units that I needed on a dolly, ready to help me buy and load them into my truck. My neighbor was gone, but when I asked him about it, he didn't think there was anything weird about the whole thing. I, on the other hand, had an existential crisis, and I only barely managed to hold it together.
At the time, I didn't know that this was a glitch in the Matrix. I truly didn't know what it was. I'd seen the film, of course, but that's Hollywood, right? It's not real life. But then again, what is real? Let me set the scene. It was the summer of 2000.
I had started my first real job back in December the previous year, and after six months or so, I had progressed from general office admin duties to route planning and maintenance scheduling. Pretty mundane stuff, I know, but I was happy and comfortable and already had eyes on a promotion. I worked for a local county council transport service, primarily focusing on the elderly and the infirmed.
It was Friday lunchtime, and that typically meant depositing a large amount of money at the local bank. I was getting ready to leave when one of the drivers came by to drop off a spare set of keys. The guy was a friendly but subdued character, who for the purpose of anonymity we will call Bob. Bob had overheard me telling my manager that I would try and be back within 30 minutes or so. "'Eh, want some company?' he said."
My next pickup isn't till 2:30. "Great, you can buy lunch too." I joked. I liked Bob. We got on. He had a troubled home life and, in all honesty, I felt kind of sorry for him. Sadly, I would later find out that he was involved with some questionable characters who had dealings with the occult and witchcraft. That in and of itself is another story to tell. Back to the bank.
And this is where a truly bizarre incident took place. Bob and I entered the bank at precisely 1.05pm, the huge digital clock above the cashier's desk glaring down at us. We joined the queue, chatting about music and football. An automated voice announced, Cashier number two available, only it wasn't.
stood directly in front of that cashier window, was a tall and slender gentleman dressed in a formal pinstriped suit, briefcase, cane, and a hat in tow. His hair was white, like brilliant white, yet he looked no older than 30. He had these mesmerizing green eyes, but they were cold, and his movements were stiff, forced, almost robotic.
Bob and I looked at each other, and I suddenly became aware that there was nobody else in the bank apart from us and him. I was sure, no, certain, that there had been several cashier windows full of customers not thirty seconds before, yet now there were none. Bob began to speak when Mr. White, let's call him, banged the tip of his cane on the marble floor three times.
The noise seemed absurdly loud. Everything seemed loud, yet silent at the same time. I can't make it make sense, it just was. The door behind us chimed. Bob and I automatically turned to see another Mr. White just standing there motionless, staring. They were dressed identically. Same suit, hat, briefcase, cane. The same brilliant white hair. Those empty eyes.
Both tall. Very tall, in fact. Yet slender. It was the same person. I could see Bob's head turning and looking back and forth at the two thin men. I saw his mouth open and him say some words, but there was no sound. He pointed. Then his eyes widened in horror. Suddenly, that automated voice reminded us of cashier number two being available. I turned and the window was free. Mr. White had gone.
I spun around, and the other Mr. White was gone. The bank was back to how it was. The usual hustle and bustle, people making small talk, footsteps sounding on the shiny floor. Bob nudged me. "We need to make this quick. I'm late for Miss Porter." I gazed up at the clock. 2:45 PM. It couldn't be, but looking at my watch, it was.
We had been in that queue for one hour and forty minutes, yet from my perspective it had been less than ten minutes. To this day, I don't know what Bob saw that made him look genuinely petrified. He had no recollections of the events inside the bank. No Mr. White. No trying to talk, but no sound coming out. No terror at whatever he had seen. Just nothing.
I returned to work shortly after the bank incident, and was accused by my manager of taking liberties due to my then two-hour absence. Some 23 years later, I still wondered just what had happened on that Friday afternoon. The Mr. Whites were not like you or I. They had vanished. Gone. Was that what had made Bob react the way he did? Did he actually see Mr. White just disappear? No.
Whatever people may think, I do know for certain that we lost over an hour of our lives, which cannot be explained. Bob also lost his memory of any and all interactions with the Mr. Whites. So, was it alien abduction? Was it some kind of form of psychosis? Or, was it a genuine, actual, first-hand glitch in the Matrix? You decide. As a statement to make before I actually read this story...
Those of you who have been around for a while will probably know who AC Smart is. Specifically, you'll know them by their kleptomaniac philodendron, Baby. If you know of those stories, then you know who this person is. Anyways, I've had my first glitch since Baby, the kleptomaniac philodendron, dried up seven years ago. Two, actually. Well, three, but two are related.
The simplest one is from just a few months ago. A grocery bag of office supplies, coloring books, etc. I collected to donate to a worthy cause. There was a second bag of DVDs and books. I put both of them in my car in the evening, so I wouldn't have to remember the next morning. I live out in the country, and yes, the doors to get to the garage were locked.
But when I got to work in the morning, all that was there was the bag of books and movies. The bag of office supplies was missing, and I haven't been able to find it. It's been months, and I cleared everything out for a long-distance trip, and I scoured the house, but the bag of office supplies has never shown up. No, the second and the third. Well, remember that long-distance trip that I just mentioned?
When I prepared for it last year, I ordered a spare key for my car. I had only received one when I bought the car and I needed a spare. Long story. Just note, for anyone's future, when you buy a car, before you sign anything, make sure that you have two keys for the car. If they don't, make sure they take responsibility for ordering you a second key or take $300 off the price of the car.
Because that's how much a key typically costs. So, I ordered a spare key. When I picked it up, it had a yellow plastic tag attached. But here's the thing. When I opened the back pocket of my hip bag to stow the spare key, there was already a spare key. One with a blue plastic tag attached. Okay, I know what you're thinking. I made a mistake. I actually got two keys, not one, when I bought the car.
That's possible. I assumed that was what happened. I did show a friend the three keys, and they remember them. So the existence of the three keys is certain. But that was last year. This year, when I prepared for the trip, I discovered that I still have the spare key with the yellow tag. The one that I purchased. The other spare, however, is missing.
Remember, I did show the three keys to my friend, so there were three. Now there are two. The key that I couldn't account for is missing, gone back to whatever neighboring dimension it came from. But here's the thing. The blue tag from the mystery key is still in the back pocket of my bag. Okay, so I've been having a lot of issues lately with things. About four months ago.
I had a near-death experience. I had a cardiac issue where my heart pretty much just stopped doing what it was supposed to do, and I collapsed in the middle of the grocery store. It was a seemingly random attack. It was completely unexpected, and I've always been told that I was healthy, so really there was no way anyone would have ever expected me to have this issue, but I did.
I was walking with my wife around the store, we were talking about what to have for dinner, and in her words, I went pale, smiled, and literally fell face first into the pineapples. I was lucky that there actually happened to be a couple of paramedics at the store when this happened, like, beyond lucky, as I had literal minutes before I wouldn't have been able to have been revived.
They were able to get me back quickly, and we all took an impromptu ride in an ambulance to the ER, where the doctors worked some amazing miracles on me to keep me alive. I was in the hospital for a while, they kept me to make sure that it wasn't likely to happen again, and we went through all the consultations and tests to see why it happened at all.
Without getting too far into it, I was basically told that I had a 90% chance of it never happening again, but that other 10% was a big deal to them, and I now have medications and have to frequently check in with the cardiologist to make sure that I don't circle the drain anytime soon. Ever since I was released from the hospital, though, I've noticed things that are not the same for me. I've noticed that there are things that have been changed slightly,
And it's actually been weighing pretty heavy on my mind. I don't know if this is personal Mandela effect things, or glitches, or just some sort of reality or timeline shift, but here we go. The first thing that I noticed was the insurance company that my wife and I go through. The name of the company that we use is Farmers Insurance. However, that is not what I remember it being.
I very distinctly remember the company being called "The Farmers Insurance Company." My wife says that the company has always just been Farmers Insurance, and has never had the "the" or "company" in the name. But I know this is false. At least for me. I've even seen the commercials in this reality where they have the jingle, and it's almost the same as the one I remember.
In this reality, however, it's just "We are farmers." But I remember the jingle saying "We are THE farmers," which, to me, makes more sense. If you say the sentence out loud, it makes more sense to say that you are THE farmer and not just "You are farmer," but that's just my opinion. Anyways, I remember the company being THE farmer's insurance company, and no one else does.
The second thing that I remember is actually a bit more personal, and not on a corporate level, and that is a local coffee shop that my wife and I like to go to. There's this little cafe that is the cutest little place, and it's owned by a local family. We used to go there every weekend before the accident. I very specifically remember that the name of the cafe was the Cardinal Coffee House.
and I remember that their specialty, the Cardinal, was basically a mocha with a ghost pepper syrup in it to make it spicy. I remember talking to the owner about it and asking why the store's namesake drink was that, and she said that it was because people associate heat with red, and Cardinals were red.
She then also said that Cardinals were, quote-unquote, spicy little birds. Basically, that they were kind of mean when it came to their territory, so it just made sense to make their drink a little spicy too. I loved her explanation, and I loved the drink. The ghost pepper worked so well with the chocolate. Now, none of this is apparently true. The cafe is called The Bluebird, and their specialty namesake drink is incredibly boring.
It's basically a vanilla latte with honey in it, and it's terrible. I actually talked to the owner about it, and I asked her if they still had the ghost pepper syrup for the coffee, and she seemed genuinely confused on what I was talking about. I'm actually incredibly sad, because it was such a fun combo and I really liked it, but it never existed, according to everyone else. The last thing that I think is worth mentioning actually happened at work.
I work in IT, and we have a fairly tight-knit team, so I know all the guys that work on my team pretty well. Obviously, I was out for a while with my medical stuff, and I'm super thankful that they were willing to let me start back up when I was feeling better, and that the company had decided to allow us to stay remote for the foreseeable future, which made working that much easier for me.
However, when I finally got back into working, I noticed that one of the guys on our team was seemingly absent from the meetings. He was one of the network guys named Chuck. He was seemingly no longer part of the company. Now, these things do happen all the time, and since I was gone for quite a while, I assumed he had found other work and moved on.
It wasn't likely that he got fired, as he was good at his job, and he was in good standing with the company. Then, about three weeks into me being back, we have a Zoom call meeting where they all requested that we put our cameras on. The meeting starts, and the head of the IT department says that he wants to introduce a new member of our team, a guy named Chuck, that is going to be part of our networking team. I was completely confused."
The guy on camera was the guy that I remembered working there. At first I thought that maybe he had left and come back, and that they were just being cheeky, but everyone was being genuine. This was Chuck's first day, and nobody knew him. I even asked my direct manager after that meeting if that was the same Chuck that worked for us prior, and he said that no one named Chuck had worked in IT before.
I just said that I must have confused him with someone else, and I let it go, but I know this guy, and I know that he worked for the company before, at least in another timeline. These are just some of the things that I've noticed that have happened, and honestly, I'm pretty messed up with all this. It's incredibly stressful remembering things that seemingly never happened or existed, and I'm struggling to cope with it.
Unfortunately, I think I'm just going to have to accept things for what they are now, because I don't think that there's any way for me to ever go back. This isn't a huge glitch, but it was a glitch. I've had many glitches, but suddenly they all stop. They quickly become a thing that I would occasionally think about. So this brings me to yesterday.
I've had a great weekend with my goddaughter and her mother. We just got out of a movie. My goddaughter, only being five, felt that she deserved a treat for behaving during the long movie. So her mother, who was driving, said, Sure, why not? My goddaughter pointed to a store and said, I want candy from there. I said, That's a clothing store, not a place that sells candy. Her mother said, No, they have candy as well.
Okay, let me explain this as detailed as possible. Most stores here in New Jersey, where I'm from, have what I call a mudroom or airlocks. I don't know the real name.
but it's essentially doors to enter the store where they have carts, maybe vending machines and benches to sit on before you enter the main store. In this area, on our right, was a young man, late teens to early twenties, wearing all white, shoes, pants, shirts, everything. He looked Latino, or Native American. He had straight shoulder-length hair that was so well done that it looked fake. He was texting on his phone.
So, what's the big deal, right? It just felt off. I don't know if it was his pristine appearance or just how out of place he looked. And no, it wasn't a mannequin. When I'm with my goddaughter, I'm on high alert like I'm a secret service protecting the president. I'm hyper aware. I am very protective of her. So, I thought, okay, just a kid who's very OCD about his appearance.
This door has two points of entry, and exits Southside and the Westside. We came in the Southside, where I saw the kid in white. She picked out her candy. We paid and left out of the Westside. As we did, the same kid was sitting on a bench in the Westside in the airlock. I paused and looked at him. Yeah, that's the same kid. Okay, maybe he was just waiting for someone and then moved to the other spot when we were inside. But...
My gut said something was off, so I said in a playful way, "Let's run to the other side where mommy is," as I was holding her hand. I just wanted to see the other spot where the kid was. And, to my amazement, the same kid was still sitting there. How could he be in two different places at the same time? So, the logical explanations: Twins waiting for someone, but why would they sit in two different places?
Sure, the one sitting on the south side makes sense, it was facing the parking lot. The west side doesn't. It faces a little outside sitting area with a fountain and benches and so on. I know that this isn't a huge glitch, but what if people just don't notice this stuff and it happens all of the time? The evidence that we may be in a simulation could be around us all the time. We're just so distracted by our personal experiences...
that we don't stop and look around every once in a while. Maybe Ferris Bueller was right. Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around every once in a while, you could miss the glitches. I have a short glitch that happened to me that may not seem like it was that big of a deal, but I wasn't the only one to experience it. So it's one of those minuscule but also really crazy because it wasn't just me involved glitches
situations. My sister and I lived together for a while in a two bedroom apartment, and we would split rent between the two of us. The way that we would pay the rent was that she would give me the money to put into my account, I would then deposit it, and write a direct check to the rental office. And that was that. That way, we only had to do one check. And I had checks already, so it was just the easier way to do it.
The rental office was incredibly anal about getting the rent checks early, and by that I meant that they wanted the rent to be paid on the first and no earlier. Because of this, the week that we had to pay, I would write the check and then clip it to the refrigerator and one of us would take it up to the rental office on the first of the month. In the month in question, I had done what I usually did, and had written out the check and clipped it onto the fridge.
Unfortunately, there was an issue at my sister's office with the payroll, and they had a delay in payment by a few days. Because of this, she wasn't going to be paid until the 3rd, so she wouldn't have been able to get me the money until then, which meant that we would be paying rent on the 4th. The rental office also had the whole due on the 1st considered late on the 5th, so we were going to be down to the wire.
I know this all sounds really kind of confusing and convoluted, but it's important to understand the timing and the process by which we had to do things. So, she got paid, she gave me the cash, and I went to the bank to deposit it on the 3rd, so that we could run up the check on the 4th and be on time still. I told her to remind me to grab the check in the morning, so I could take it in on my way to work.
Unfortunately, she did not remind me, and I completely forgot about it until I was sitting at my desk at work. I was obviously cursing myself and freaking out because they weren't going to be in the office when I got off work. And, if they didn't have the check in hand by the time they locked the door to the office, they added like $150 onto the rent for that month. I was not willing to pay the extra.
So, I told my boss that I needed to leave at lunch for a personal thing, and he was fine with it. I kind of felt bad for dipping out early, just to get a check into the office for my rent, but I figured it was better than paying all the extra. Lunch came around, I left to go get the rent check, and was confused when I got home. The check wasn't where I had left it on the fridge. My first thought was that it had fallen, but I checked around the fridge and couldn't seem to find it.
Then, my second thought was that maybe my sister had grabbed it when she got up and taken it in before she went into work. I went ahead and called up to the office and asked them if they had gotten the rent check for us, which was a bit strange to have to ask, but they looked and said that they did in fact have this month's rent, and that we were good. When my sister got home that evening, I thanked her for taking the rent check up to the office for me, and then she told me that she hadn't.
She said that when she had gotten up that morning, the check was gone, so she assumed that I had remembered. I told her that I had forgotten to grab it, and I actually took a half day off of work to get home and get it in so it wouldn't be late. Neither of us took the check up to the office, but yet they had it. For the record, I genuinely believe that she was not messing with me, because it's not like her, and I wasn't running on autopilot or anything like that."
Neither of us have any idea how it got into the office, but it did. Like I said at the beginning, I know it's not that big of a glitch, but it helped us out quite a bit, so I guess thank you to whoever runs the simulation. I have always loved the quiet solitude that comes with fishing. I love being out on the water and away from the craziness of everyday life. It's always been my perfect idea of relaxation.
A sort of therapy, you could say. I have a bit of a creepy story that actually took place not that long ago, in early June. It was early morning and I'd set out on my boat, expecting nothing but a nice and calming day and hoping for a decent catch. I'm catch and release, so I wasn't taking anything home, but I was still hoping for a good time. The water was very calm that day.
The sun was shining down hard, and the sky was cloudless. It was a couple hours into my day, the only sounds around being the gentle lapping of the water and the birds going a bit crazy over whatever it is birds go crazy over. As I was sitting there, I saw something glinting on the water, something that looked a bit out of place.
It caught my attention, and as I focused on it, I noticed it was a glass bottle just bobbing up and down in the water. My curiosity peaked, and I was also a little annoyed at the same time. I hate people that litter on the water. I reeled my line in and maneuvered my boat a bit closer before grabbing my net to pull the bottle out of the lake. When I pulled it from the water, I could see that it was pretty old and pretty gross.
But the lid was fully sealed, and it wasn't full of water or anything. I wiped it down and noticed what looked like a rolled up piece of paper inside of the bottle. I opened the bottle and pulled the paper out, and that's when things got a bit strange. The paper wasn't dated or anything, and it didn't look like it was that old, but it's what was written on it that confused me.
The message was written by a man named Jonathan, same name as me. It started by saying, "I'm writing this on an early morning in June. The water is calm and there's barely a cloud in the sky." Which was identical to how things were going on on that specific morning. The letter also mentioned that Jonathan was struggling with some things in life, which is why he went out fishing on that particular morning.
It stated that his father had passed away recently, and that he was going through a painful divorce. This was incredibly chilling to me. My father had passed away about three months prior, and my wife and I had recently agreed to split up. I was struggling with things, which is why I set up this weekend fishing trip.
There were a few more details in the letter that matched mine. Not major details, but small things about how he was feeling, what he was planning on doing, and so forth. The letter ended with a quick note that said, I'm going to have to cut my fishing trip short, though. The clouds are starting to build up, and I'm thinking that it's going to be a pretty crazy storm. I paused, and I looked up, and...
Much to my surprise, the sky was actually starting to get a bit cloudy off to the horizon. At this point, I kind of thought about what I should do. Was this some kind of prophetic letter, or was it just completely coincidental and I was crazy? After thinking about it, I decided to go ahead and wrap up my trip.
Glitter was too close to my exact circumstances to just not be something, so I got my boat to the shore and got it hooked back up, and I got all of my gear put up in my truck. As soon as I got out of there and onto the main road, it started to downpour like hard rain and small bits of hail level storming. I laughed at the craziness.
The storm actually went on for the rest of the day, and it was heavy enough that there was a tornado watch that was put into place, because of the wind and the level of intensity that it hit our town with. Now, I'm not saying for sure that this was some sort of prophetic message from myself, from some other timeline or something, but it is crazy to me that I found a letter from a person with my name going through almost the same thing that I was going through...
that ended with a message that predicted exactly what had happened. If I hadn't listened to that letter, I would have been out on the water when it was coming down like that, and it would not have been pretty. But that's my story. I unfortunately do not have the letter anymore. It seemingly disappeared at some point soon after that day, while I was moving my stuff, but...
I like to think that it ended up back in the water to warn the next version of me that ends up out on that water on a June morning. And hopefully he listens. My reality either underwent a major update, glitched out, or I've slipped into a different reality entirely. It started with noticing a few little things that could be put down to the Mandela Effect.
I swear that in the reality I grew up in, Worcestershire sauce was spelled Worchestershire, with an H after the C. And it isn't a rare condiment that I only had passing familiarity with. It was a major component of my mom's cooking and was frequently on the table. I would call it Worchestershire in my head for my whole life.
The same way people will think "wedness day" when they write Wednesday, even long after they've learned to spell it. I remarked on the spelling change to my husband, and he looked at me like I was an idiot who just didn't know how to spell. Apparently it's Worcester, Massachusetts here too, although even with the "ch" spelling in my old reality, it was still pronounced "Mooster."
Those little things made me feel like maybe I was just losing my mind, but the other day I was sitting at the light at an intersection that I drive through daily, and sometimes several times a day, and I noticed a sign that I had never seen before, and then realized that a different sign was missing. I've lived in this neighborhood for seven years. There's not much that I haven't seen around here in that time.
but I had never seen a faded, weathered white sign on a rusty leaning post that had an arrow directing people to a St. Francis Medical Center. What was there in my reality was a normal blue hospital sign, the kind with the big capital H, with a smaller sign below with an arrow, and the current, and much more unique, name of the facility below that.
There have been some more subtle changes in people, places, and things, but I can't really discuss it with anyone I know in real life, because they think I'm half loony already, without telling them something even I wouldn't believe if it weren't happening to me personally. So, here we are. This is all true. I've always had odd, unlikely, and even seemingly impossible things happen to me.
I dare not go into all of them, as I honestly believe something is attached to me. Be it an angel with a sense of humor, plain old weird karma, energy, I don't know. And I don't want to upset whatever it might be. I'll write this anonymously and with no disrespect. This is just to tell you about some of the many items that I've had literally disappear, never to be seen again.
Even today, every day, things are not where I leave them. I've learned that I have to be very aware of where I put something. Keys, glasses, remote control. And still, when I look for it later, not only is it not where I put it, but I might find it under other things. Like a shirt or a piece of paper that I had not moved. That's my day today. But I've had many items really disappear.
I've only, over the last couple of years, become aware of the multiverse theory, or given it any real consideration. Maybe this is where they go. In the 1980s, I was going from the car to our condo with my husband and some family members. The parking spot we'd parked in was a mere 15 or so yards from our door, but at the time that this happened, I had walked at most 5 yards from the car.
I took my giant wad of a keychain from the car and held it in my hand. As we all walked toward the condo, within a matter of seconds, I realized my keys were no longer in my hand. I asked everyone to stop and help me look for them. My husband had known that I had my keys, so he assumed that I dropped them.
We all assumed that, although I knew it would have been impossible for me not to have heard substantial clink if they had dropped from my hand to the pavement, considering I had many keys and a lot of unnecessary metal keychains. There was only black pavement between the car and the condo, as I hadn't made it as far as the small grassy area. Everyone looked for about twenty minutes,
including all through the car and the entire parking lot and grass area, even though I hadn't been near the grass. Those keys never turned up. I had to have remade three car keys, house keys, mailbox key, and other random keys, like those to my parents' house. None of my family would have taken my keys as a prank, and then never admit to it, and let me spend all of the hassle to replace everything. I couldn't replace the keychains.
I lived there for another seven years, and those keys were never found, not even by neighbors. My husband and I lived near San Francisco. The Golden Gate Bridge was celebrating an anniversary which we attended. My husband bought me a really cool t-shirt commemorating the event, and I loved that shirt. It was just the two of us. We got into the car, and of course I had the shirt with me.
I even opened it up and looked at it again in the car as we were driving home. It was dark by then, and a little breezy, so we had all the car windows rolled up. We didn't stop anywhere between the bridge and home, but you know what I'm going to say. The shirt never made it to our home, and I never saw that t-shirt again. When we got home, it was not in the car anywhere, and even checking and rechecking the car over the next couple of years, it never turned up.
This also happened with a movie rental from a video store. I'd put the VHS into the car, and by the time I got to the video store, it was gone. It was exactly the same several years later with a rented video game. Also, I had a banana disappear from a car, and no telltale smell of old banana ever appeared. These are all car-related, even though they were all in different cars and over many years.
I've lost many other things that I know were in my house, that were just never located even after moving. Special things that I put in a special place just vanished. Of course, I've lost things that I can attribute to theft or human error, but these I can't. Are all of these many lost things in a big pile together in some other reality? I would love to hear your thoughts."
I might have experienced a glitch in Walmart the other day. I've been racking my brain since it happened, but I can't come up with a reasonable explanation for what happened to me that night. First, let me set the scene and scenario for some context. Earlier that night, I was at my job closing up shop with my manager and a coworker who was a newer friend of mine.
It was a pretty slow night for business, so we were just talking and goofing off while we were closing because we wouldn't have to deal with any more customers that night. My shift went by relatively quickly because I enjoy spending time with my coworker and no annoying customers were coming in to bother us. Soon enough, we were gathering our things and clocking out, getting ready to leave when my mom sent me a text saying,
I drove down the road for about half a block, pulling into the lot of the Walmart Superstore and parking.
I remember smiling to myself because I had managed to snag a great spot close to the entrance, so I wouldn't have to walk in the sub-zero temperatures of the northeast. I got out and ran into the store, locating the frozen pizzas right by the entrance. I took a mental note of what flavor I would pick up, and made my way diagonally from the front left side of the store to the back right.
because I needed to pick up some cheap paints while I was there. On my walk over, nothing seemed wrong or out of the ordinary. Everything was in perfect order. Arriving in the far right corner where the paint was located, a blue fluffy blanket with a majestic unicorn print caught my eye. The blanket was on a shelf with various other blankets with images of other wild animals.
All of the blankets were wrapped up and held together with a thin cardboard package, displaying the image of the blankets on the front. The reason why I walked over to these blankets in the first place was because I bought my mom a blanket from Walmart with the image of the Virgin Mary for Christmas as sort of a joke gift. I wanted to take a picture of this unicorn blanket to show her because I thought it was hilarious.
I approached the shelf with the blankets, and I faced towards them. I was standing about two feet away, just staring at this unicorn blanket. I was frozen in place, in a trance-like state, fixated on the blanket. I had zoned out, something I frequently do, when a flash of bright purple light snapped me out of my trance.
The light was bright like a flash from a camera, and it lasted for about three seconds. I whipped around to see if someone had taken a picture of me, but there wasn't a single person in sight. I looked all around, even peeking around the shelves, but there wasn't anyone close enough to have taken a picture or ran and hid without me noticing. I looked up toward the ceiling to see if maybe it was one of the store cameras that flash as you pass by,
but there wasn't any of those either. Plus, those make a loud dinging noise when they flash, so I would have heard it. I stepped back and forth trying to recreate what had happened, but I was unsuccessful in all of my attempts. I even walked away for around a minute and precisely recreated what I did, but that strange light did not appear again. I briskly walked back to the front of the store to get the pizza and leave.
I couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. So today, I went back to the same Walmart to do the exact same thing. This time, a friend came along just in case the light appeared again, so I could prove to myself that it was just something in the store that had caused the light. But no results. I honestly cannot think of what could have possibly produced this light anomaly.
Some may know me based on my post in the Mandela Effect thread. My father worked at the Fruit of the Loom's headquarters in Kentucky, it's since moved, and we both have extremely specific memories and life events regarding the cornucopia. I've had a small handful of other experiences in my life that are perplexing, but nothing in regards to glitches per se, except for this.
It honestly bothers me, although it's not scary, just confusing if that makes sense. I'm not sure why, but it's been on my mind as of late, so I figured I would get this out of my system and post it here. This is a few years ago. So, my wife is Canadian born, and she still had family up there. Her father had passed several years prior from pancreatic cancer that wasn't diagnosed in time.
and her mother was now very ill from complications due to Parkinson's disease. It was a long time coming, her health having sharply deteriorated after my father-in-law's passing. She was in assisted care living, could no longer speak, and we all knew she would be passing extremely soon. My wife went up to say her goodbyes, and she happened to pass away while she was up there. She stayed some time afterwards to take care of her affairs and attend her funeral.
I was working at an extremely bad company at the time, with an owner who was egotistical and liked to threaten people quite a bit. And I was basically told that if I took off time to go to the funeral, I wouldn't have a job to come back to when I returned. So I stayed here in the States, missing my mother-in-law's funeral. It pissed me off, but there wasn't anything I could do at the time.
After it was all complete, I went to pick up my wife at the airport. I saw her along the curbside in front of her airline's area and pulled over. There were traffic cops up ahead that will bark at you if you put your vehicle into park, so I was in a hurry to get her luggage and get back into the truck. I had a 2017 Toyota Tacoma at the time. It was the SR5 package with the chrome rear bumper corners on the rear.
I picked up her suitcase and flung it into the bed of the truck, kissed her, asked her how she was doing, and I opened her door. As she started to get in, I ran around the truck to the driver's side and got in. In this short amount of time, someone had pulled in right in front of me and was taking their sweet time, so I decided to back up to give myself enough room to pull around them into the middle lane.
I looked in my backup cam, didn't see anyone, and proceeded to go into reverse. Suddenly, the truck stopped abruptly. I had hit someone that was out of sight of the camera in the corner of my bumper. I was in such a rush to get out of there that I didn't use my mirrors, which was dumb, I know. My wife asked if we hit someone, and I said that I had, and told her to wait there.
I got out and there was a red/maroon Hyundai behind me with the pushed in grille and front part of the hood. A Mexican woman and her mother came out of the car, screaming at me. I apologized over and over and they eventually calmed down and realized it was just an honest mistake. I took ownership of the fault from the beginning to end, and they seemed content that I wasn't trying to skirt responsibilities.
I looked at my Tacoma, and the chrome part of the bumper, there's chrome only on each far corner, was scraped up badly, and slightly dented upwards. Though I was honestly pretty happy to see how little damage there was after looking at how badly the Hyundai was banged up. They explained that their car was a rental, and they seemed very stressed about having damaged it.
They didn't get the insurance from the rental place, and were adamant that I filled out the paperwork in the glove box that's provided in case of an accident, which I promptly filled out without any hesitation. I showed them my insurance, which they took a picture of with their phone, and filled that info out as well on the paperwork along with everything else.
We wrapped things up, came back into the truck, and I apologized to my wife, who said something to the effect of, stuff happens, it's alright, and we went home. The next day, I went out to look at my truck, thinking I would have to eBay the chrome piece to replace it. It's a cheap part, and I would rather have that than to deal with my insurance replacing the part on top of having to pay for the rental's damage. I was shocked to see that there wasn't any damage on the chromes.
In fact, I thought I was mistaken on the side that I hit since there was absolutely no damage. I checked the other chrome bumper piece, but nothing. Here's the part that messes with me. I never was contacted by my insurance or any other party or company about that crash. My wife remembers it. I remember it. But there was never any damage on that truck after the initial day,
And the people who didn't have rental insurance, who would have most certainly reported me due to how badly the Hyundai's damage was, never reported me. Keep in mind, I was super stressed out for weeks, so it's not like we imagined this or something, because I knew that I'd have to be dealing with my insurance company and paying of deductibles, etc. Money was tight at the time as well.
and I was extremely stressed about having to pay $500 for the deductible. I kept waiting for a call, something in the mail, nothing. I suppose this could be explained away as they were trying to be nice or something, and just used their own insurance. I mean, who would take out their own deductible for someone else that they don't even know? But even past that, it doesn't explain why my truck was no longer scraped up and dented.
Has anyone else had an experience like this? This reddit sub was the only place I figured it was relevant. Thanks. At the end of my freshman year of college, I packed up my apartment. I put all of my special knickknacks and mementos in one box, being careful to wrap everything in bubble wrap, and then I taped it with packing tape.
and I mean I wound half a roll around this cardboard box to make sure that everything would be safe. I then went back to my parents' house for the summer. My old bedroom had a walk-in closet, and in the back of the closet, there was a small half-door that went under the eaves for more storage. I put the box in the storage space, shut and locked the door, and I didn't open it again until I went back to college. When I unpacked my box...
There was this disc I had never seen before. It was a flat disc with a divot in the middle of it, so it would spin like a top, and there was a design on it that would reflect the light as it spun. It wasn't new, as it had a few superficial scratches on the shiny surface. I had never seen it before or anything like it in my life. I figured it had to belong to my roommate, and got into my box by mistake,
even though I packed and taped the box myself. It seemed weird, but I just figured it somehow got into my stuff without me seeing it. We didn't live together this year, but she came to visit soon enough, and I said, "Oh, hey, I think this must be yours." I showed her the disc, and she said it wasn't hers, and that she had never seen it before. Okay? Weird. But I didn't put a whole lot of thought into it.
I just set it out with my collection of odd knickknacks and forgot about the whole thing. Right at the end of my second school year, I ran into an old classmate from high school. We hadn't seen each other or spoken since graduation. We ended up reconnecting and dating. I eventually married and then divorced him. We broke up when I went out of state to another college as my last one was only a two-year program.
I didn't like the school and left after one semester. When I came home, I started hanging out with my future ex-husband again, as well as his roommate. They had their own place, and I was living at my parents', so we would always hang out at their place. Except one day, I had the roommate to my house. We were hanging out in my room, and he spots the disc.
And he was like, Oh, hey, did C, the future ex-husband, give you that? I thought it was lost. Immediately, I was like, WTF? I said no, it appeared randomly in my stuff after my first year in college. He went on to describe the scratches on it and how they got there. He spotted the disc from across the room and could not have seen these tiny surface scratches from that distance. But they were distinct.
and he described them exactly. It turns out, this sat on their coffee table for a long time, until it disappeared around the same time it appeared in my stuff, in a box that was taped up in a locked room. A year after I last saw C at graduation, and a year before I ran into him again. I have no explanation how it got there.
If the box had been opened and re-taped, it would have been obvious. You pull that much tape off of a cardboard box, and the layers of the box will rip off too. No one had access to that room. And the idea that someone broke into a house, broke into a locked room in the house, opened, and then re-taped the box without marring the box at all, just to put a small, non-important item into that box, is ludicrous.
and I still have yet to hear a rational explanation. I guess that this was my first glitch. I've had others since, but this was before there was a name for it. The mid-90s. And it's bothered me ever since. I have a lot of shoes. But I don't have any double sets. I have one pair of everyday shoes. They're black on black Samoa Adidas.
These are pretty much my everyday shoes, my most comfortable shoes, and I've only owned one pair ever in my life, and I've had this pair for ten years. I have never bought any other pair of Adidas shoes. I have two different sets of boots. I have some white tennis shoes, and I have some nice dress heels and sandals and flip-flops and shower shoes and house slippers.
But I have one single pair of black on black Samoa Adidas. These shoes are great quality and have lasted me a really long time. I've never considered replacing them. I have nobody else that I know who would wear the same pair, and I've never seen them on anybody else who's come in or out of my house. My son has gigantic feet.
and if he somehow had the same pair, they would be like a men's 16, so I really do not understand how my shoes doubled. I got home from work and changed out of my work shoes. I took off my work clothes, put on some comfy clothes, and I keep my black Adidas on the left side of my bed tucked under the box spring. I pulled them out and slipped them on, and I went for a jog.
I came home, took off my clothes, jumped in the shower, and when I came out, I picked up my shoes to place them back under my bed, where they go. And there's already a pair of black Adidas, my exact size, in that spot. I had just pulled these shoes from that spot to go jogging. It's not like I pulled my shoes from a different location, and I somehow have always had two pairs, and never noticed.
This is exactly where I pulled them from, and there is a set sitting right there under my bed. I pulled them out and looked at them. The wear is exactly the same, which you can expect is pretty significant for shoes I've worn near daily for 10 years. The nicks on the side, the spot where my foot hit the gravel when I fell a couple years back, it's all the exact same.
I pulled out both sets. I had four shoes in front of me. I was sitting there feeling like my brain was broken and I knew what I was seeing did not make sense. So therefore it must be incorrect, somehow. I left both pairs out specifically so that when my son got home from school, I could ask him what the hell.
Maybe he saw an exact same pair, the exact same size, outside in one of the communal areas around here and brought them in thinking they were mine? Maybe a friend of his left them over and we just happen to have the same wear and same size? My son comes home from school and I bring him into my room to show him that I have four shoes, when I should only have two, and he thinks I'm crazy.
Because there is now two shoes on the ground. Two, not four. But I know that I was not imagining it. Sorry this is kind of long. I'm not sure where to post this, but I thought I would give this sub a try. So, a little background. I'm a project supervisor with a company as a third-party contractor...
So when I go to different manufacturing plants, I carry my backpack with everything I need, including a small portable printer and a laptop. This has happened twice now. The first time I just brushed it off, and it just happened again. The first time, as usual, I packed my backpack in the morning, and I get to the site and get my equipment out, and I'm missing the cord that connects my laptop to the printer.
I distinctly remember coiling it up and putting it in the pocket in the back of the main pouch that sits behind my laptop, and it's nowhere to be found. I didn't go anywhere besides home and to work that morning, and I only keep my equipment in one spot in our house. After searching all over at home and where my backpack was at work, I can't find it. Okay, whatever. I go home and order a new cord online.
Then, it happened again two days ago. It's been a couple of months since it first happened, and the same events happened this time. Roll up the cord, place it in the same pocket, get to work, and no cord. Only this time, both the printer charging cord and the connecting cord are missing. I had rolled them up together. I look all over the place my bag is at work...
just in case it fell out and look all over where I put my bag when I got home. No cords anywhere. There are no holes in my backpack, and I've taken everything out of my bag and searched, and no luck. My bag has only been from home to work and back. I'm completely clueless. I don't know if this is some kind of glitch or just bad luck, but they seem to have just disappeared out of thin air.
Okay, so last night...
Something weird and completely unexplainable happened. So, I'm 26. I live with my fiancé, my brother, and my brother's fiancé, and our house is weird. Like, the fridge will open with no one around, and then sometimes shut itself. One time I was home alone and left my room for five minutes because my brother's dog was freaking out, and when I came back...
My ring light, that I hadn't used or even put together since we moved here months prior, was assembled and blocking the path to my bed, and one of the cats screamed like he'd seen some stuff, often when he's alone in the basement. My room used to be in the basement, but I moved upstairs after the ring light incident. Now, onto my glitch from last night. It was pretty late, close to midnight.
but I really wanted to take a shower. I'll preface this with the fact that I was pretty tired, but I'm not confused. All was going well. I was listening to music and singing along the whole time, so I know that I didn't black out or anything. Anyway, I face away from the showerhead unless necessary, so my back is to the shower. I have a leg up on the back of the tub, loofah on hand washing my calf.
and singing to that Christina Perri song, A Thousand Years. And then, the loofah just wasn't in my hand anymore. Confused, I looked to the hook where I always put my loofah, but it wasn't there. I turn around completely, and I see it. My loofah. Hooked on the knob that controls the water. A place that I have literally never put it, as we all have hooks in the shower.
Like, it was there one second, and then it really was just gone. Poof. And I felt very weird after that. I can't explain the feeling. I'm pretty sure that nobody believes me in my house because I'm obsessed with glitch stories, especially your podcast, but this really happened, and I would love it if someone had an explanation. And thank you for listening to my story.
Hello Raven, I've been wanting to submit a story for a while now, but my life's pretty boring or I just don't notice some things. I've listened to almost every episode on Spotify, so I'm excited to hear my own story in an episode, and I hope that you enjoy. So, I had this necklace with a metal chain and a pink rose quartz crystal that I could hook onto the chain.
I forgot where I bought it, but I'd had it for months at this point, with no issues. Eventually, I had broken the chain right where the little clip is, and I couldn't figure out how to fix the necklace, and I wasn't just going to throw it away. I had no other chain that could hold my crystal, so I thought of using superglue to connect the two ends of the chain while the crystal was still hooked onto it.
That meant that I couldn't remove the crystal now, but the chain was long enough to just put it right over my head, so I didn't see a problem with it. I definitely underestimated how difficult it would be to hold the two ends still enough until the glue fully dried, so I gave up after a few tries and a lot of glue on my fingers and counter onto the glitch part.
I left the necklace alone for a while, until I was cleaning out my jewelry bowl and found it. When I did, it was fixed. The two ends couldn't have just fused together, right? I asked if anyone in my family had fixed it because they all knew that I was trying, but no one touched it. There's only three people in my house. My mom, my dad, and my brother.
I really expected my brother to be the one to admit that he had fixed it, but he kept denying it. I don't know if he thought I was upset about it, but I was utterly confused. I couldn't wrap my head around it. The reason I think he felt that way is because I hate it when he touches my things, but I hadn't been rude or angry at all. My brother has autism, so even though I asked him in a confused way...
He may still not have been able to tell if I was mad. Despite what I truly think, I believe my brother, and he and everyone else in the house denied touching or fixing the necklace. I can't wait for another episode. I hope that you enjoyed, and I hope that everyone has a spooky night.
Back in 2018, I was 17 years old and had come back from abroad to visit my friends in my home city for the winter. I remember it was the cold month of December, and I was walking back to my apartment after a medical appointment with my mother when I happened to pass by this very old abandoned drama theater that was built in the 1800s, where my grandfather had temporarily worked in his youth.
which had been closed ever since the 90s. I recall that I hadn't been on that street for a long time, since my childhood, because I would always avoid the old drama theater buildings, as it gave me very strange vibes, so I would always take the other ways home, back to the city center. However, that particular day, I happened to take that route for some unknown reason.
and I took that road with my mother while we discussed my upcoming exams, until she stopped me at the intersection for some odd reason and told me I was going the wrong way. At that very moment, I saw a young blonde girl sitting in a very familiar blue opal car, playing her PSP-3000 in the car. She glanced up at me to look at me all of a sudden, our eyes met, and I felt an odd sense of familiarity and recollection.
I froze for a bit in shock until I heard my mother's voice and decided to quickly turn back. I went home as if nothing happened, and then realized that when I was a kid back in 2009, it was snowing, and I had seen an older teenager with highlights, makeup, and a purple winter jacket looking at me strangely when I was in the car with my dad in the backseat, waiting for my mother to get back from the local store a few blocks away.
And that's when it hit me, that this person was actually me. She too had moved away quickly after locking eyes with me when I was a kid, and she was dressed in the same attire that I was wearing in 2018. It was almost as if what happened wasn't supposed to happen. I wasn't supposed to be there on that day.
Even up to this day, I'm confused. How could I possibly have seen myself from the future? And for me to remember it? I've never told anyone about it because they would just assume that I'm a delusional idiot. Or something. This has been something that I haven't been able to explain to anyone. I still sometimes think about it and wonder whether I just fell asleep with my eyes open, or had hallucinated the entire event.
but I recall it as blue as daylight. I've even asked my mother about the event, and she blankly stared at me saying that I acted odd that day, wanting to go back to that place for some unknown reason. I don't believe in the supernatural, but after having experienced this event, I think there's definitely something there, which we aren't aware of.
I guess I have a strange glitch or personal Mandela effect situation that I haven't been able to figure out and probably never will. My apologies if this is somewhat boring or too short. It's not really a long story, nor is it super crazy. It's just really weird to me and I can't find an explanation for the whole thing.
For a little context, I'm not huge into the paranormal, nor do I believe we live in a simulation, and I'm not under the influence of anything, etc. and so on. But this is something that has bothered me ever since it happened. My cousin, I'll call him Danny, was my best friend growing up. I lived in a neighborhood that had next to zero kids, so he and I would always be spending time together.
My favorite childhood memories are from when he and I would play Pokemon Red and Blue on our old school Game Boys, because we would just sit there for hours playing through the game, trading the Pokemon, and battling each other to see who had the stronger monsters. In fact, it's because of him that I got my then-favorite Pokemon, Alakazam.
It's not really relevant, but to get Alakazam, you have to trade your Kadabra with another person, and then it evolves. There are a few Pokemon from back then that did this, and I remember that we pretty much finished the Pokedex in both games because of how much we played together.
It may not seem like it's important, but I remember getting to the 150 mark on the game, which is not something you could do without two people, or at least two games and two Game Boys. When I was 12, Danny's parents, so my aunt and my uncle, decided to move to another part of the state.
It was pretty far away, so we never really got to see each other after this, as my parents never wanted to go that way, and I couldn't drive. I moved on, though, and I grew up with pretty much no other friends. I'm not trying to garner pity, I'm just saying. Then, when I was around 17, my aunt and uncle wanted to have a good-sized party for Danny's 18th birthday and graduation.
It was seemingly a really big deal for them, so they invited everyone over and wanted the entire family to come and celebrate. I was stoked. I hadn't seen him for five years, and I had planned on giving him a short speech during the party about how much spending time with him as a child meant for me. I was going to make a joke about how we spent hours playing Pokemon, and I wanted to get him an Alakazam card as a joke.
Only to find out that they don't print Alakazam cards. Look it up, it's pretty stupid. So I just planned on giving him my little speech and that was that. When I got there, I was actually thankful that I didn't get an Alakazam card for him. Because apparently, none of my childhood memories playing Pokemon with Danny ever happened. That's right. Nothing I just said is a thing that happened in my current existence.
My cousin Danny, the one that I spent hours playing Pokemon with, the one that traded me the Alakazam that I cherished and beat his Pokemon with a hundred times, he was apparently born blind. He has, apparently, never been able to see anything. Ever. And the reason that this was a big celebration wasn't just because he was graduating, but because of how much he struggled with trying to get through high school with his disability.
and how proud everyone was of him for making it. Obviously, I'm pretty damn proud of him too, but I don't get how this is possible. For the record, this is the same Danny as the one that I grew up with. Same red, seemingly wind-swept hair, same bright green eyes, and same goofy attitude. Except, this Danny can't see, and has never been able to.
Being unable to see means that there's no way he could have ever played the old school Pokemon games with me, and my entire childhood is one big false memory. I'm not going to lie, it actually hurts the hell out of me to know this. And there's really nothing that I can do about it. There were no other cousins that lived near me. There were no other kids that it could have been. And obviously I didn't just imagine it all or dream that it all happened. I am devastated.
that my best friend as a kid just didn't seem to exist in this reality. It's been years since all of this happened, we're both in our 30s now, but I still think about all this quite often, and I honestly miss the Danny that I knew and grew up with in the other timeline. I've never experienced anything like what happened a few hours ago. I was scared at first, but now I'm just baffled.
I usually have a pen and an eraser in my bed to write down my dreams in a diary. They're placed beside my pillow. This morning, I used them both in my bed, and then as I was done, I brought both the pen, eraser, and diary with me down from my bed. I sleep in a sort of bunk bed, so I have to climb up and down a ladder to reach the mattress.
I sat down in my sofa and continued to write in my diary for a bit, and then I placed the items on my sofa table and started to pace around for a while. I clean a little, go to the bathroom, etc. Suddenly, my AirPods run out of battery, and as I remember that I left the case in my bunk bed, I climb up the ladder only to find out that my pen is on my bed. This baffles me.
because minutes ago I sat in my sofa writing with that exact pen. The pen moved itself from my sofa several meters up to my mattress in my bunk bed. The pen is a unique pen that I only have one copy of. I live alone in my apartment, and I don't have any pets. I'm 100% sure that I didn't grab my pen and throw it up into my bunk bed. That wouldn't make sense, considering I was sitting in my sofa writing things down.
I struggle with mental illness. Bipolar. But I've never had hallucinations or experienced delusions before. I am healthy and I take my meds. When I grabbed the pen, it was solid. It was in fact in my bed. Even though I didn't throw it up onto my bed. Does anyone have an idea of what this could be? Do I have to do something? A part of me is scared, and another part of me is like...
It is what it is. Okay, so about three weeks ago, I started texting this guy. We hit it off and have a lot in common. Anyways, we started talking about sleep patterns and whatnot. I told him that I sleep a lot, especially when I get off work. As soon as I get home, I take a shower, and I go to sleep. He says that he's the opposite.
He has trouble falling asleep to the point where he has to fall asleep with rain videos and stuff like that. So, I decided to tell him about Dr. Teal's spray, the one that's been all over TikTok. I've never used it, but I heard that it actually works. I decided to send him a picture of it. I go online to take a screenshot of the spray, and I even sent him the lotion that also helps to sleep.
After I sent it to him, I showed my sister our text, and we talked about it for a while. We were joking, saying that we should get it just to see if it actually works, and I show her the pictures that I sent to him. Anyways, my point is that I texted him and sent him a picture of the spray. He even joked around about it, saying, huh, imagine I spray too much and end up in a coma or something. And I was like, please don't.
So, fast forward to today, we start having this same conversation about sleep, our sleeping patterns and whatnot. I'm thinking, didn't we go through this already? Because he was like, huh, I can't sleep, I have trouble sleeping. Something along those lines. I texted him back saying, I'm telling you, you need to try out that sleeping spray. Then he was like, what's that? I assumed that maybe he forgot.
So, I send him a text saying, "The Dr. Teal's sleeping spray? The blue bottle?" And he's like, "I don't know what that is." At this point I'm so confused because I'm certain that we had this conversation before. I'm positive I sent him the screenshots of it. So, I go back to our messages trying to find it. Nothing. I never delete my texts. I still have messages that go back to last year. So, I was confused.
I went back to my screenshots on the phone to see the pictures from that day that I had taken or screenshotted. There's nothing. I couldn't find it. I spent 34 minutes going through all of my pictures and messages, and I could not find anything regarding the stupid spray. So, I go find my sister, and I told my sister about it and asked her if she remembered when I mentioned the sleeping spray to the guy. We joked about actually getting it, and she says yes, why?
I go on to explain everything to her, and she's freaked out. So am I. Because what the hell. I know that I didn't text it to some other guy, because he was the only guy that I was talking to at that time. So I go through all my messages again, hoping that I sent it to someone else, and there's nothing. I can't find anything. Just nothing at all. As if I never had that conversation with him. I don't know what it means, but it's just insane.
Because if it wasn't for my sister remembering the whole ordeal, I would have probably thought that I'm imagining things, or hallucinating. So I'm not sure how to make sense of this mess. And no, I don't do drugs nor drink, so I don't know what reasonable explanations I can come up with. Has anything like this ever happened to anyone else? Today is Monday, July 24th, 2023.
and I had something happen to me again that I have no rational explanation for. Over the past two or three years, I've been looking for a box that has a kitten on it, and my mom bought it for me in September of 1998, when I was 18 years old. On to the glitch. I was upstairs in my mom's house looking for this box that has a kitten on it,
and I went through like six or so large totes and couldn't find it. I went to this grey tote to look into it, and I didn't find it there. Right next to it was a larger red tote. I looked through it and still couldn't find it. I kid you not, I looked right back over at the grey tote, and there was my box with the kitten on it, laying upside down on the grey tote.
Like I said, I looked in the gray tote first, and then the larger red tote next. It's like it just appeared out of nowhere. My mom was downstairs and was the only person in the house, and I doubt anyone in my family would play a practical joke on me. I'm totally bewildered, and I'm trying to find a rational explanation for it, but I can't.
Over the past several months, I started watching glitches in the matrix, and I have had several things that I mentioned in another video that I can't find a rational explanation for either. Does anyone have any idea what this might be? In the summertime, one of my neighbors has a yearly garage sale that takes place on Friday and Saturday.
My family usually checks it out, as my neighbor has a niece about my age, and sometimes she contributes cute clothes that I like to look at. It's also common for my dad to state that he saw them setting up for the garage sale on his drive home from work. Years ago, it was the weekend of the garage sale. The night before we went to it, I had a dream that I looked into a tub of wallets.
I picked up a wallet, opened it, and found money inside. After waking up, I forgot about the dream for a while until later. My family arrived at the neighbor's garage sale, and it started out normal. After looking through some clothes, I saw a basket with wallets and small purses. I then remembered my dream and picked up a wallet. I thought it would be cool if I opened it and found money inside, like the dream.
And, as you're probably expecting, I opened the wallet, and boom. There was seven dollars inside the wallet. I used the money to purchase my items at the sale and went on with my life. It wasn't until recently that I realized that my dream literally came true. The power of the human brain is spooky. So, I think today I was someone's glitch in the matrix.
I think this is an interesting story, and a little humorous to share, to remind us that some days things are not what we think. So I work at a hardware store, and it's really in the middle of nowhere. There's a mall, gas station, and a few fast food places nearby, but really nothing else. I go for lunch, and I park near the edge of the parking lot.
I drive an old black two-door car. It has a lot of rust on it with some bumper stickers from the old owner, so my car stands out. Next to my car is this RV. It's one that you rent. It was one parking spot over from mine, so we both could open our doors without hitting the other car. This is part of the reason that I park so far. The doors on my car are big, and it's a pain to get in and out of.
I stared at the RV, thinking, I guess it's that time of year now. I go to get in my car and see the owner of said RV head into it. He stares at my car for a moment. I'm used to this again, old and rusted. And he gets into the RV. I drive off, going to get myself a lunch, since, you know, it's lunch. I decide to get some gas as well, since I'm getting close to needing it anyways, and my lunches are an hour long, so I have time.
I head back to my store and park in the same spot that I always do. I have my spot. Leave me alone. I notice the RV is still there, and I'm kind of confused. I thought he would have taken off by now. I saw him get in. I turn to look back at the store and see him walking out again. Now, this poor guy stares for a few seconds at my car. If this was an anime, there would have been question marks over his head.
To him, he had seen me drive away and now my car was just there again. In the same spot, like it had never moved. The woman he saw get into the car was still sitting there. He gets into the RV again before he pulls away this time. So, it seems that I was the glitch in the matrix for this poor man.
I feel bad for confusing him, but also I can't help but laugh as I think of him telling someone else about this weird black car that drove away yet was back when he came back. I just thought you and your subscribers might get a kick out of this. So, my mom is an artist. She has a lot of issues with paint, so to buy her some drawing pens...
"'the kind that you buy on their own with detachable lids. "'I took her with me in the car, "'but I went into the store and I bought them for her. "'I came out and handed four of them to her. "'They were on their own and unpackaged. "'In the store I had noticed the lids weren't great, "'and as she was looking at them in the car while I was driving, "'two of the lids fell into the footwell "'where she was sitting in the passenger seat of my car.'
I saw this out of the corner of my eye, and we decided to finish driving home, and then we would get the lids to put them back on. So we get home, and I get out to take something out of the back seat, and there's one of the lids. On the back seat. There's no logical way that this could have happened, unless the lid rolled and then bounced up to get into the seat, but I feel that it would have taken a lot of bumps for the lid to get from the floor to the seat.
The other lid was still in the front passenger footwell. It left us both puzzled, and as these are special pens, it was definitely the lid for that exact pen. This happened last week. I was getting ready to go to work in the morning. I was still putting my makeup on, and the mirror and the table where I put all of my makeup are one and a half to two steps apart from each other. So, I was walking back and forth.
When I was at my table, I looked at my earbuds and thought, "I'll put this in my bag right away or else I'll forget it again." Because, a day before, I left them at home. So, I put it in my bag right away and went on getting ready. I arrived at work at 7:00 AM and had to wait for my manager to open the door. In the meantime, I was scrolling through social media.
I thought of putting in my earbuds, because I don't like people listening to what I'm looking at, if that makes sense. But then I thought, well, there's no one around. I'm waiting in my car, so I won't disturb anyone. So I don't put it on. At work, it was so busy the whole day that I didn't take my earbuds out of my bag. In the afternoon, when I come home, first thing I do is take my phone and earbuds out of my bag and put them on the table.
I arrived at around 5pm, I went into my room and put my bag on the table to take my phone out, and before I went for my earbuds, I saw them on the table. I was like, what the hell? I looked in my bag and I couldn't find them. I was so confused. I clearly remember putting it in my bag because I had forgotten it at home a day before, and I was so pissed about it. But what happened here? I guess the earbuds just transported back home.
Nor do I misremember it. It's so weird. I've never experienced a glitch myself until last week. I bought a biscuit mix a few months back. Last week my mom found it in the pantry and asked me to make it because she was in the mood for biscuits. I went to get it out because she told me it was right in the front. The biscuit mix was not in the front where she said it was.
I looked on the shelf where all of our mixes are, and it wasn't there. I looked on all of the other shelves, and it wasn't on any of them either. I was very confused, but I figured that she might have just put it in the fridge while looking for the other ingredients to make them. It wasn't in there either. I looked in the can cupboard, and it wasn't there. I finally looked on all of the counters in case it was out, and I missed it.
It wasn't in any of the locations in the kitchen or anywhere in the rest of the house. I gave up and just made some from scratch. The biscuit mix has not made an appearance as of this point, and I hope to find it someday, but I have a feeling that I just never will.
