41 new Railway Stations constructed in NE since 2014, says DoNER Minister - As many as 41 new railway stations were constructed on account of new lines construction in the north-eastern region (NER) since 2014, said DoNER Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh. The minister informed the Rajya Sabha on Thursday that during 2014-19, a total of 231 km of new lines have been commissioned in the north-eastern region.

**Centre approved Rs 53,370-crore projects for Northeast during 2019-20 financial year **- The Centre has allocated an amount of Rs 53,370 crore for infrastructure and socio and economic development of the north-eastern region (NER) during the 2019-20 financial year, DoNER Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Thursday informed the Parliament. He also said that 548 of projects, at present, are at various Stages of implementation in the region.

**COVID-19: NRC ‘Rejection Order’ distribution process again shrouds in uncertainty **- The NRC authority has decided to postpone distribution of the NRC ‘Rejection Order’ to those who had been found ineligible for enlisting their names in the final NRC, published in Assam last year in the wake of coronavirus.

PM Narendra Modi calls for ‘Janata Curfew’ on March 22 from 7 am to 9 pm over COVID-19 - In wake of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which has also affected India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday urged the people of the country to opt for a ‘Janata Curfew’ on Sunday from 7 am to 9 pm. To check the outbreak of the dreaded virus the PM has appealed all not to come out from their homes on Sunday between 7am to 9 Pm.

**Kamrup metro district administration formed squads to check ‘black marketing’ of mask **- The Kamrup metro district administration has formed squads to deal with black marketing of protective mask as rumours of black marketing of such masks and hand sanitizers have been doing rounds in the State. The district administration has formed two squads – one of Dispur circle and the other of Guwahati circle – to crack the racket if any.

**Coronavirus Scare: Anti-Covid steps in all Police Stations of Kamrup (M) district - **All the police stations (PSs) in Kamrup (M) district have been directed by the authority to take preventive measures to check the spread of coronavirus. The DCPs in the district have asked the OCs of the police stations under them to take all preventive measures so as to prevent the outbreak of the virus and make people visiting the police stations also aware of it.

**NF Railway cancels 50 trains to prevent the spread of Novel Coronavirus **- As a precautionary measure of Covid-19 the NF Railway has, reportedly, cancelled as many as 24 low-occupancy trains mostly March 20 to April 4. Some of the trains have been cancelled up to March 31. It has also cancelled 26 other trains for other reasons.

**Balaji Temple management decides to close the temple at 1 pm in view of coronavirus **- Balaji Temple management has closed the temple in view of coronavirus. The Temple management has decided to close the temple at 1 pm till further notice. However, the temple will remain open for ‘darshan’ from 8 am to 1 pm. Only 10 peons at a time will be allowed to enter the temple complex to offer prayers.
