People are doing this all the time. But it's really because car sales is rough. I had to do some kind of shady stuff just to make quotas. What, you're sucking for cars? Well, you get jobs, you know. But really, I was like, I wasn't making a whole lot of money. Like, I know that sounds... Then you must have sucked at sales. I mean, I would sell in between like 10 to 12 cars a month. And then it just kind of dried up once I went on vacation that one time. And it just... Well, yeah, you usually don't sell cars when you're on vacation. Yeah, then my mindset was just like in vacation mode all the time. And I was just like... What's vacation mode?

I just wasn't ready to work. I mean, I wasn't ready just to go and like grind and grind. I just went a week in Hawaii. I was like, heck yeah, let's enjoy Hawaii. So for sake, man. Okay. And I get why some people are upset. Everyone's wrong. Like, it's just like, what can we do to pay off your debt now? Like what? I am. What is your situation? Like, are you making money? Yes, I am kind of doing odd jobs here and there. Okay. Applying for some jobs.

Well, why didn't you have a job lined up before you left? Mental health, honestly. 100% of it was mental health. What? I was working 70 hours a week. Okay, request less. It sells. You got to be there to sell cars.

And if you're not there, you're not selling cars. Okay. So where was the mental health then? What did it look like? Mental health was I was waking up every day at 6.30 in the morning going to work and I was getting home at 8 o'clock at night. I had no social life at all. I had no me time. It was honestly kind of driving a little bit of a stake between me and my girlfriend because we were...

never seen each other. I'd come home, eat dinner, talk about my day and complain. And she, so it sounds like you were more just very unhappy. I was extremely unhappy at that job, but this wasn't like a clinically diagnosed mental health. It was not. So you just, you, you hated your job. Yeah. I mean, which I totally vibe with. Okay. You hate your job, but then we're applying for jobs. Like it's crazy. And then, you know, and you're end up putting yourself in a bad situation where apparently you're addicted to going on vacation. and you continue to do that without making any money racking up debt and having to work odd jobs just to pay things off and now don't have a job did you have a fully funded emergency fund before you left

no what are we doing then i used it all man i was i was okay what were you using it for i'm paying bills i mean honestly i was i had i had a new wait before you left yeah before i left it because i wasn't making money you had a new car of course a car salesman had a new car yeah i mean that that was why you weren't making car sales that was kind of their gimmick was like hey man you should get a new job competition of who has the highest interest rate who has pretty much i actually i leased it so so you still have it i do i do

I was just brought aware.

I was chit-chatting with the producers over here, and I was like, hey, why do we have someone who's unemployed? We're not doing that anymore. People hate when people are unemployed. You quit your job after applying to be on the show, so you were employed when you applied. So this is moving quick. When did you leave?

So now, I mean, after I got the car and everything, it was a Kia EV6. They said they gave me a great rate on it. They gave me tons of discounts and everything. Not too long ago, probably about two months ago, I went in and I looked at really what all discounts they did. And they f***ed me. Like car salesmen got car sold. Sold.

Were the top car salesmen selling? If you were in that 10 to 15, were you doing well when you were in the 10 to 15 range a month before you came back on vacation mode? I was doing probably four to six a month. Okay. It was commission. Was there a base pay? No. They had a draw. It was $1,500. And if you don't cover your draw, you're kicked rocks. Yeah, so like the legal minimum. Okay. Yeah.

Okay. What were the top guys doing? 20 to 22. And well, the reason why I got into it is because in my interview, they were like, hey, our top guys are making 300 grand a year.

And I was like, oh, hell yeah. Like, that sounds awesome. You think you would go in and become a top guy immediately? I mean, it shows how good you could be if you become a top guy. But if they tell you what a top guy is, do you think everyone sitting there is a top guy? The way that they made it seem is that they were like, hey, everybody who works here is over six figures in their first year. I know you don't have any experience doing this, but we should definitely get started.

You came with your friend. Is he a car dealer? No, he's not. He's a... Looks like a car dealer. He does kind of look like a car dealer. I would hope we're trying to move at least laterally in the income scale. Maybe a brief dip while we try to move laterally while applying to other jobs. That $4,500 or so is not consistent at all. So you got $89 from that if they were all the grocery stores, which they weren't. So it wasn't the full 89 in cash back.

I mean, that's pretty substantial cash back. Yeah, but it doesn't matter because you still lost $26, right? Yeah. Just about? Yeah, about. Yeah. Math was a little off, but you still did lose. And it wasn't that full amount because it wasn't all grocery stores. So $4,640.60 with a minimum repayment of $151.47. Yeah.

You paid more than the minimum, but it didn't matter. It wasn't even close because you purchased $1,490 with $106.13 accruing in interest. 16 years to pay off this takes doing the minimum monthly payment. 16 years. that's not how it works buddy we assign where every cent is going on a monthly basis by establishing what goals you have where do you want to get where do you want things to be uh how quickly do we want debt paid off what do we want for a retirement goal what is required to get the there what are the steps along the way what does our budget need to do to reflect that and then if our budget is not fitting that maybe it's an income thing at that point what do we need to fix around that to reflect that if we f***ed up looking at the past month we're like oh so what do we need to

fix in our current budget to reflect it. What do we need to adapt? That is what we're doing. But if we're starting the month with, I have $4,000 to spend.

And you're saying that after you're not even taking into account rent or investing or anything like that, are you taking into account the car bill? Yes. But even still, not taking into account rent and investing, this is a dangerous place to go. $4,000 to spend. I think a big thing was they gave me huge credit limits. Which is why then you are not a credit card person. If you do not know how to manage, you don't even know there's a balance on here that's accruing interest. how it affects your credit score until you are ready and proven to be able to utilize this. Then we can talk about being a credit card person and building credit. Okay. It still probably takes three years to pay off your debt, making double what you make now, assuming that it takes you $3,000 to live and assuming you're not paying taxes.

But you make your hole even worse if you don't go get another job now. So really, I need to put a band-aid on just to start. We need to start the bleeding to at least make sure you live.
