#57 This week I am joined by the truly remarkable qualified & accredited psychotherapist Tasha Bailey (AKA the RealTalk Therapist). Our conversation starts with exploring why Tasha decided to become a therapist and what’s behind the focus on ‘real talk’. We discuss why so many of us resist seeing ourselves for who we really are. Tasha shares her wisdom on the topic of emotional availability - what it is, why some of us are drawn to emotionally unavailable people and how we can work on our own emotional availability. I ask Tasha what’s behind people pleasing and she talks us through the connection to fear, rejection, childhood experiences, and not feeling good enough. We also get into why many of us use harmful behaviors (e.g., overworking, constant socializing, etc) to distract ourselves from what’s really going on within. To end, Tasha tells us what advice she would give her younger self.
