#17 In this episode I look at the question ‘do you have a healthy relationship with food’ with the incredible Sophie Bertrand (Registered Nutritionist, creator of Sophie’s Healthy Kitchen, and author & co-host of Forking Wellness). Sophie shares her approach to eating which promotes balance and a strong relationship with food and our bodies. We discuss diet culture, the belief that ‘thinner is better’, our collective obsession with food, the impact of restriction, and why so many of us continually reach for ‘quick fixes’. Focusing in on self-awareness, we chat about the concept of intuitive eating and the importance of noticing our feelings around food. We delve into fear of loosing control, what it means to have a healthy relationship with food, and the importance of individuality when it comes to diet (ie pushing back against one-size-fits-all approaches).
