I live like I said 25 minutes south of the city So I hopped in my car picked up my friend kylie who literally lives in my neighborhood and we both headed into boston We parked at my friend's house and we were like, you know what? I'm just gonna have like two drinks. That's it. I just want to see my friends and go home
I ended up like drinking like quite a bit having way too much fun like a few of my friends were buying me shots and I'm like I can't pass up free shots right now and also like I never get to see these friends like I see them what three times a year now I live on the other side of the country I'm gonna go boss the wall right so I went boss of the wall with them and it was just so much fucking fun and I just felt bad for Kylie because Kylie wanted to go home and I was like no like I'm just
gonna sleep at like one of our guy friends apartments it's fine like i'll do that so i ended up staying there but she ended up ubering home and which actually i don't even know if kylie actually listens to all the episodes hi kylie if you're listening um we had so much fun and yeah so i ended up staying and i went a little too crazy and i woke up at 7 30 in the morning i literally had to tell my friend i was like i need to set an alarm right now because i need to be up because i had my brother's hockey game that i was literally like

We went to the liquor store and bought alcohol because I wanted to do like different shots. Like I was like... So Taylor bought like on Amazon plastic champagne glasses and shot glass. But the shot glasses were like half a shot. They were little. They were so small. So I just used that as an excuse to have even more shots because I was like, it's half a shot. I can do two because it's technically one because they were so small. And we bought screwball and this like raspberry liqueur to make like PB&J shots. And...
And I was just handing them out to everyone like a motherfucker. I was like, I was thinking where I was like, okay, we're doing dry January and I have this whole, both of these handles of alcohol. I'm like, these need to be gone before we leave. Are they empty? Almost. Yeah. Jesus Christ. I know. I was just handing shots to everyone. Did you see me with the platter? Yeah, she was literally like a cocktail waitress. I literally was. And then as I stood up to like start walking, I tripped and I dropped like three of them. And I was already so drunk at this point. Well, hold on. I'm going to backtrack a little bit because one of our friends showed up, one of our guy friends. He's like the crazier one about all the guys. Says a lot. Yes. What do you mean? Like for you to be named the craziest? Yeah. Those dudes. I know because they're all crazy. They're all crazy. So he gets there and I'm like, hey, do you want to do a shot?
And I'm like, sure, let's do a shot, whatever. We do one. I'm like, it's kind of like a half shot. And he goes, so that means we got to do another one. And I'm like, okay. So then we do another one. And then one of our other guy friends comes over to me and he's like, wait, I want to do one with you guys. So I'm like, oh, fuck. Like, this is about to be my third shot. And I think in total, I took like 10 shots. I took one. I took two of them. Okay, no, 10's aggressive. Maybe like six. I was, yeah, 10's a little bit aggressive. I took one.
Two of them, I think. I took three within like two minutes span. And before that, I also had an espresso martini, which my espresso martinis...
So good. But yeah, our guy friend's like, when I'm having fun, I just forget how much I'm actually consuming, which is so bad. Which as long as you're safe, it's okay. I know. Taylor was so concerned too. We'll get there. Yeah. Yeah, we'll definitely get there. But so then we got in an Uber and it was the best Uber I've ever been in in my life. We get in, he's blaring Picture to Burn by Taylor Swift. And I'm like, this? Yes. I was like, this is...
the best Uber I've ever been in. And he was like jamming to it. Like he knew he was playing bangers. Like it wasn't like he was like really trying to keep us entertained. I can't believe that. So I was like pouring, like not going to lie. Like I probably like hogged a little bit of the Tito's. As you should. You were dead sober. I was like, y'all bitches are drunk. Yeah. You guys don't need this. I was like, I need it. And I like, I was like, so yeah. Like when the bottle girl came over and was like pouring champagne. I was like, if I don't get one of these glasses, I'm going to be pissed. Like I

Like normally if we go to other bars, we're constantly at the bar. So people just order drinks. But when you're at a... The liquor runs out and the liquor runs out. Yeah, you got to move around. I can't stay still. So we were moving around, bouncing around. And there was this, these groups of guys at that table that would not stop staring at us. You have,

Yeah, but I said something earlier in the night to them because they wouldn't stop staring because I was next to Gabby. Well, I was just like, that dude's kind of hot. So I was like, I'm literally staying. I don't want to go home. Like that's super lame. And then I'm like texting Sam. Like, are you home? She's like, no. Like this is like another 30 minutes had passed where I texted you. And I'm like, damn. Like I know Ubers were crazy because before you left, you were like, I was like, she's probably waiting for an Uber. Like I was for a really long time. And so, but I was like, I stayed. I realized that my friends were still there. Like some of our friends from the table. I was like, I'm just going to, which another thing I want to add in is I left because no one was at the table.
Literally everyone had left but I guess they all went to the bar to get drinks. But I thought they left. So I was like I'm leaving too. Fuck this. Yeah so she's out of there. And I was like okay she went home. Whatever. So I end up hanging out with like this guy and I made a girlfriend at the table and like everyone all these guys were like so cool and like the girl was cool. I was like I'm down. Like I'll hang out with you guys. And they were like gonna go to this after party because everything closes at 2. And I was like
Do I go to this? And the girl was like, yeah, like, come. Like, come with me. And I was like, okay. Like, you know when you just, like, make a girlfriend at a bar and then she's, like, your best friend? Yeah. I'm like, well, now I can't leave you. Yeah. If you're going, like, girls gotta stick together. Yeah. Like, okay, I'll ride with you. We go to this random-ass place on, like, east side, but, like, not east side where the bars are. This random building I've never seen before. It was, like, 50 bucks to get in. This is after we waited, like, 20 bucks for an Uber. And the guys were like, we'll pay if you guys want to go in.
And I'm like, you're not paying $50 for me to get into a club I literally don't want to even go to. Like, I feel bad. Like, no, like, don't pay $50 for me to get in. That's ridiculous. $50 to get in somewhere in Austin, Texas. Where are we, Vegas? Yeah. Like, no. So we didn't go. I Uber myself home, paid like almost $60 to get home in like a seven minute Uber, which is freaking nuts. But I mean, it was New Year's Eve.

And then as I'm staying there, the corner of my eyes, I see the most, like, gorgeous, perfect man I've ever seen in my life. And I was like, I was like, I need to go say something to him, like, right now. So as Haley's in the bathroom, I go up to him and I just start chatting with him. And I don't even know what I was saying because, like, it's kind of like a blur. But yeah.
We just started talking and I looked at him and I go do you know like those guys over there at that table is at the table you're at referring to like the guy on his that I was talking about and he was like no that's I don't know them we have another table back there and I was like oh I was like even better like I'll come with you so then Haley comes out of the bathroom and then we go back to his table and
and I'm just talking with him, and he sits down on the couch, and all of a sudden, he just sits on the couch and pulls me onto his lap, and we just start making out. Yeah, we hooked up and then I was laying on the couch with him for like 20 minutes and we were just talking and I'd like laid back. I was about to fall asleep on the couch. So when Sam is in here, I'm literally having a panic attack because my friend told me she was coming home and now she's not home. And for some reason, I couldn't see her location. It just said that she could see mine.
Like what it says when you're sharing with someone and they're not sharing it back. Like it just said, Sam Taylor can see your location. But she's not here. I'm calling all of our friends. I'm like, did any that were at the table? I'm like, do you know where she is? And they're all like, no. Like, and they're like literally all together, like drinking in someone's apartment. And I was like, you guys are fucking useless. I'm like, you guys are literally fucking useless. And then this one guy's like, her location says she's home. I'm like, well, I'm home. Like, I don't feel like going home yet. And I was like, you were at Buford's with Haley. I so would have gone there. Like, I so would have done that instead. And then...
I'm just like trying to nurse him back to life. I'm like, do you want me to take your makeup off? She's like, no. Oh yeah, I was on the toilet. I'm like, are you sure? And she's like, no. So I'm like, okay. And then she just like crawled into bed and I'm like cleaning up from the party and...
dealing with Mac pooped inside so I had to clean up Mac's poop and um so I'm like cleaning I literally am being like just caretaker like cleaning Mac's shit making sure she's not like puking in her bed cleaning up from the pregame then the guy I was hanging out with all night was like what are you doing I was like honestly
now i'm awake and i'm really bored like if you want to come hang out you can hang out because i was like not going to sleep anytime soon and we just went to go get food and like hung out like we didn't even like do anything we just got french fries from whataburger because i was starving and i was like let's literally go get food and hang out here and like watch a movie like i'm i'm bored but he's not even from here so i'll never see him again but like he was pretty cool he was a cool guy like usually like random as if it happens all the time
normally when taylor brings random guys home no this only happened like twice but like we've had incidents where like i just cannot stand the guy that's like in the presence of my home and i'm like he needs to get the fuck out of here but like i was able to have like good conversation with this man i was like you're a cool guy like too bad you don't live here because you could be our friend yeah so i was kind of like i feel bad because i never saw him again but like not my fault like he was only here for like one more day and i'm like you literally don't live here anyway so yeah
Good riddance. So also, should also mention, if you guys remember the story of Michael and Josh from like two episodes ago when I like had two guys meet up at the bar. So Josh, one of the guys, is a part of that friend group.
and Taylor also had messaged him or called him that night wondering where the hell I was and was like all pissed because I never went home with him. What did he say? He was like, you should check with so-and-so's friend that she was like all over. And I was like, okay. Okay, he's pissed. I was like, I'm being serious right now with serious issues. I don't need your like petty ass drama. I didn't ask. But it was still really fun. It was just an interesting experience.

Oh, speaking of appointments, tomorrow I'm getting bangs, like fringy bangs because Kenzie Meads, I saw her TikTok where she has these like really cute fucking bangs and like sometimes I just see something and I need it. Like that second I need it to be done to me. So I texted my hairdresser. I was like, when's your next appointment? And she was like, January 10th. And I was like,

Taylor wrote this all up, so I'm kind of just like winging it on this. Yeah, there's a lot to say for a beginner's guide to the gym. So it's hard to put it all into one thing of notes because there's so many different ways we could go. But this is like specifically for the gym, not like beginner's guide to like fit lifestyle and like eating simply just to entering a gym and working out and then everything else.
Would have to be other episodes. And you can apply this to so many other aspects of, like, fitness, too. Like, I know some of these, like, are going to be, like, kind of relative to, like, the gym. But, like, if you want to apply it to, like, a workout class or just, like, anything that, like, is something new to you, try to apply it. Yeah, this could go for workout class. Workout class and gym for sure could go to a workout class. So the first one is gym workouts.

into the gym you are like we go into gym sometimes and like i feel weird in certain gyms yeah i feel weird i feel intimidated i don't like the vibes i feel like people are looking at me and it's like you got to find a gym that you like especially if you're a workout class girly like find a place that you like do trials a lot of places have free trials if they don't pay the 15 day pass honestly try it out see if you like it see if you like the machines see if the people there are like
Good vibes, not good vibes. Like, I think it's worth it to try out different gyms because you're going to be going here every single day for, like, a few hours a day. Like, you should feel the vibes and like it there and feel comfortable there. And, like, is the drive there nice? Like, does it have good parking? Like, all that shit's going to make you feel more comfortable. And also another thing to consider, too, is, like, it can go either way. Do you want to go to a gym that you know a lot of people are going to be there? Or do you want to go to a gym where...
Not many people you know are there. Like, it kind of can go both ways. Maybe you feel more comfortable having a lot of your friends that go to that gym. Or maybe you don't feel super comfortable having a lot of, like, your classmates or, like, friends there. And you kind of just don't want to be seen until you feel comfortable using the gym. So, like, decide, like, what is best for you in that aspect as well. Yeah. It just... There's so much that...
goes into it but it'll really make a difference if you go somewhere that you feel comfortable in it will literally make all all the difference so make sure you just try out different gyms

Either way, you two are both newbies and you want to start going to the gym, start together or ask a friend that's been going to the gym for maybe two to three years already and they know what they're doing and you just need a little bit of guidance. You don't necessarily have to be going with them every single day, but maybe like twice a week just to help you kind of get like a little bit confident and comfortable in the gym.
Even if like you don't even work out with them the whole time just knowing that there's someone that you can be like Hey, can you help me do this? Yeah, like can you like show me how to use this? Whatever makes it so easy and if you know someone in your life that works out Most people into the gym are so incredibly enthusiastic about helping other people learn how to lift weights and go to the gym So i'm sure they'll be more than happy

Okay, found the hamstring curl. You can just kind of take...
take in your surroundings or and even i feel like some gyms maybe it's like okay i kind of get it like there's dumbbells here over there but like that area is more like crossfit vibes so like those people are more doing like like hit stuff over there and like the bodybuilders are more over there yeah for the most part like gyms are pretty organized like for the most part okay keep this in mind like i'm

um my next one like i kind of want to add in before going into the next ones is like starting off with your machines being all like the cable machines you don't need to jump into using the barbells and dumbbells like literally if you go to the gym and just use literally walk down the line of just using like all the cable machines like the leg press the hamstring curl for like lower bodies where you're just adjusting the little cable that's a perfect way to start out with it rather than feeling stressed on like
what dumbbell weight do I grab? What weight am I putting on the barbell? So like, don't feel stressed if you haven't gotten over to the barbell slash dumbbell section, like start small. Yeah. I have that in our next little section about workout plans. So like, we'll also like get into that. Okay, cool.
So the next thing on here is like even though I just told you to look at people you're looking at people for demo You're not looking at people to judge because no one's judging you and no one cares what you're doing Like you're not that important. We go to such a cool gym that like if you went to like Lift ATX here in Austin, like they would be more than happy to show you how to use anything. Like it would not even be weird at all. There are people like literally anyone would help you do anything if you just asked. And then the next part of like going to the gym is knowing how to do a workout plan.
But I kind of wrote this in reverse order because I kind of want to put the last thing I wrote towards the top. You don't need to do any specific exercise plan, anything right away, especially if you've never gone to the gym before. Literally, the only thing you need to do is go. Whether you go and do like bodyweight abs for 10 minutes or you go and stretch or you go and do like, I don't even know, like the treadmill. Like if you just show up eventually, you're
now at least you're in the habit of going and you'll get into the swing of it but like at least just show up and go yeah like and you don't like need to be doing shit same thing like you said like you don't need to do a certain exercise you don't need to do anything yeah you don't need to use a barbell you don't need to use dumbbells you don't have to do anything right away because all you need to do is start yeah i also get questions all the time on like even like equipment too of like
oh, I want to do this workout that you just posted, but I don't have a belt squat machine. Like what's a good substitute. And it's like, at the end of the day, there is no real like quote unquote good substitute. Like do any squat variation that you want, that you like to do. Like I fucking hate doing squats right now, barbell squats. So like if there's a different squat variation that you can do, do it. It's all about like having fun in the gym and just enjoying the exercises you're doing. Don't force yourself to do shit you don't want to do.
Yeah. And when I unless like there's a certain degree on what what I'm saying that but like realistically don't do anything wrong. Yeah. But like if it's not like wrong, yeah, it's fine. But it's like I went to the gym first and like was nervous, but I'd kind of fuck around most days because I was too scared to like do anything serious. But I went and eventually obviously now I'm in the groove that I know how to go to the gym and lift weights and do the whole thing. But like I had to have that time of being like, I don't even know what I'm doing in here.
And like feeling weird and kind of just fucking around. Honestly, that's literally what I was. I would kind of fuck around. But like you got there and I showed up and it it just makes you more comfortable with being in the environment. But if you want an actual plan to follow, in my opinion, I wrote, I just think an upper body, lower body split is pretty easy. Yeah. Like do upper body one day, lower body the next. I think that's fairly easy.
fairly simple. That's the easiest in my opinion. Yeah, you don't need to start going to the gym six days a week. Like start four, do two lower body days, two upper body days, and then slowly work up to like six if you want to. Taylor and I honestly like some weeks I go four days a week. I go five days a week. I go anywhere from four to five days a week. You don't need to be going six or seven days a week. Yeah.
Yeah. Like, be real about it. Like, you cannot set your New Year's resolution to be going seven days a week and if you've never even been once. Yeah. Like, that is just... Like, you just want to make sure when you're kind of figuring out what your workout split is going to be that you are hitting each muscle group at least twice a week.
So if you're going to do three days a week, do a full body day and then a lower body day and then an upper body day. So that way you are always hitting every single muscle group at least twice. And then if it's four days a week, just two lower, two upper body days. And don't worry because when our app comes out, that'll all be there for you. Yes. And another thing too I do want to say with the app, which we'll have another whole episode coming,
Explaining the app how you should go about it but like even for another example like we were just kind of like not like shitting on workout programs but like realistically like yes our workout programs are going to be there but like if you don't want to do a specific exercise in the program like change it substitute it it doesn't have to be so strict. Yeah workout programs are there for me at least so you don't have to like unless it's like a
For a specific competition. They're there so you don't have to think. Yeah. And if you'd rather think and switch something out because you know your gym and you know you like a certain thing better than... Yeah, and to track your progress. Yeah, to track your progress. With the app, you're going to be able to plug in the weight you're using and you will get notifications each time you go back to that specific exercise and you've increased weight. So that's another thing to keep in mind if you want to continue to use the same exercises. Stick to it, but...
If you're a beginner, don't stress about it. Right. I have on here that if you want to make your own day of workouts yourself, your leg day, this is a pretty basic thing to follow that is pretty solid. And you don't need to listen to everyone being like, is that optimal? This is optimal on TikTok. You just need to be getting these done. So this is a pretty easy thing to follow. Every day that you're in the gym, you want to do like five to six exercises.
Every single exercise, four sets, eight to ten reps, and you want to do your hardest exercises first. That's pretty standard. And then obviously, once things get heavier, then you might start doing like
heavier things lower reps you know you'll figure out all of that but I just think five to six things four sets eight to ten reps that'll do you pretty solid for a workout that's like really really basic um is it going to be like the best workout plan you've ever seen it could be if you put in the work like you'll make progress like you can obviously get more intense with it but that's like really solid that's that's as basic as it's going to get yeah I feel like that was pretty good

But like they said, this attachment isn't optimal. The attachment's fine.
You'll be fine. Just put in work five to six things. Get it done. Upper lower body is pretty, pretty easy. You don't have to do push pull yet. I mean, if you want to, if you are like you followed us for a while and you're like, now's my time. And you're like, no, I know what to do. Start with a dope split. That's great. But there's no pressure to.
um and then this is miscellaneous stuff um follow influencers that make you feel good and you know you're gonna have off weeks and off days no matter how far into your fitness journey you're gonna have off weeks and no matter how far into it some days are harder than others it's never just gonna be easy to go to the gym every day sometimes you don't fucking want to and sometimes you get there and halfway through our workouts we're like f this like i'm walking on the treadmill i don't want to finish or like
