Key Insights

Why did Kamala Harris struggle as a presidential candidate?

Harris struggled because she couldn't resonate with independent voters, didn't effectively distance herself from Biden, and faced internal party skepticism. Her campaign was also criticized for focusing on culture wars rather than substantive issues.

What are the potential impacts of mass deportations on the U.S. economy?

Mass deportations could severely impact the economy by removing essential workers in sectors like agriculture, janitorial services, and construction, leading to labor shortages and increased costs for businesses.

How does the Cuban Adjustment Act currently protect Cuban immigrants?

The Cuban Adjustment Act currently protects Cubans who enter the U.S. on a parole or have dual citizenship with Spain and enter on an ESTA. It no longer protects those who enter without parole and are not admitted.

What criteria might the new administration use for mass deportations?

The administration may prioritize deporting individuals with final orders of deportation and those convicted of serious crimes, including nonviolent felonies like Medicare fraud and drug-related offenses.

Why did John Morgan withdraw his support from the Kamala Harris campaign?

Morgan withdrew support because he believed Harris was a poor choice for breaking through to independent voters and that her campaign lacked a clear, compelling message. He also felt the party was hypocritical for not allowing a democratic primary.

What is the significance of Brittney Brave's upcoming show at the Adrienne Arsht Center?

Brittney Brave's show at the Adrienne Arsht Center is significant as she will be the first local comedian to headline there, marking a milestone for local talent in Miami's performing arts scene.

How does the current political climate in Miami reflect broader American trends?

Miami's current political climate, characterized by corruption, lack of accountability, and a focus on culture wars, mirrors broader American trends where these issues are becoming more prevalent and normalized.

What are the concerns of immigrants regarding potential mass deportations under the new administration?

Immigrants are concerned about being targeted for deportation based on final orders, criminal convictions, or denaturalization. They fear family separation and the impact on their livelihoods and communities.

Chapters

So on today's show, we will be talking to a veteran South Florida immigration attorney because there's a lot of confusion about who of our friends is going to be going adios. We'll also be talking to John Morgan, the legendary Florida attorney and a major duty Democratic fundraiser and donor about how the Democrats could f*** up a two-car funeral. In the meantime, joining me...

live in studio is American citizen, radio personality, podcaster, comedian, and future handmaiden. Please welcome baby machine Brittany Brave. And then I even did the IUD, which I hated that thing, the little metal thing they put in your uterus, and it's how the Supreme Court tracks you, so no. Couldn't go to the beach in Miami without an old man coming by with a metal detector. What?

He was like, Beep, beep. Oh, yeah, mommy. I was like, yeah, it's not a puppy, you know? He was looking for gold, but all I had was copper. Hi, Billy. Hi, Brittany. Hi. What the hell are you doing here? I'm here to hang out with you and commiserate about our terrible nation. Oh, you know what? You women...

Just you women. Always bitching about something. I just always, with the nagging and the whining and the bitching. And the talking and the wanting fundamental rights. Hang on, hang on. White man talking. White man talking. Please, quiet. Quiet. We can say that now. So you're mean to tell me that I can't role play with my Hispanic boyfriends and be like, deport me, papi.

Well, I don't think you're going to have that problem. I think your boyfriend may have that problem. I know, but that was part of it. That was the role reversal. I was like, you be the immigration officer and I be the Trump-worshipping Cuban citizen. Role play. Yeah. Yeah, exactly.

Actually, moving forward, when I do hook up with straight men, all of my if and when. Yes? You have questions. No, no. You keep unpeeling the onion. I'll go back later. Yeah. Well, I'm saying that I don't know if I'm going to be able or strong enough to engage in the 4B movement, which is complete abstinence. But I will, moving forward, enforce that all straight men, the dirty talk in the bedroom needs to be historical and empowering for women.

I don't want to be called baby or bitch or anything. I want to be called Ruth Bader Ginsburg. My lady. I want you to pull my hair and call me Hillary Clinton and demand I show you the emails. Like, you know what I mean? Jesus Christ. Smack my ass and call me Nancy Pelosi. Okay, I'm sorry. I feel like we're getting a little sneak preview of the show this weekend. You have a show this weekend? Is that why you're in Miami? Oh, that's right. I forgot. My biggest show in Miami ever. Yes. I am headlining the Adrienne Arch Center for Performing Arts show.

The first comedian to do it, a woman in Trump's America? I know. Is it? Can we still call it the Adrienne Arsht Center? I mean, we're going to put a woman's name on the building. I know she wrote a check, one check for $30 million, by the way, Adrienne Arsht did. Is that still? Little Billy Corbin. Maybe call it the Little Billy Corbin Center. How about the Little Billy Corbin Center? That sounded like John Morgan. That's hilarious. This is on your little Twitter account, Little Billy. Sweet.

Yeah, seriously. I don't know what you're doing here because, as the mayor would say... In Miami, we are definitely not woke. No. Everyone's pronoun is bro in Miami. Everybody's... By the way, this is... Because Miami has gone way unwoke. Now, I hope you're aware of that. Oh, yeah. Have you really? Have you swung the other way? This is a f***ing minefield of misogyny and racism and...

And jingoism. Yeah. And yeah, like that's just the way it's going to be from now on. Well, I feel comfortable because I've been dealing with that since birth. So at least throw me something that feels familiar. Am I right? Okay. But yes, I'm at the Arts Center this Saturday, November 23rd. First comedian to do it. Is that right? Yeah. First local comedian, at least. They don't really do a lot of stand up and they reached out to me.

Because I'm pretty sure all the males. You're the first local comedian to do Adrian Arsht? Yeah, to headline. Is that allowed? For you to do Adrian Arsht? Actually, after the election results, they tried to revoke the weekend. But I said I got too much invested in this. I will be checking voter registration at the door. No, I kid. Yeah, it's this Saturday. And it's a farewell show because I am moving back to New York City January 1st. Because I've got to go somewhere where we can be gay and the cream pies are reversible.

Oh my God. And people are smart and literate.

Reversible Cream Pies is my new band. Yeah, that's actually what Eric Adams' platform was for a moment. No, I'm kidding. Reversible Cream Pies actually sounds like somebody that would headline Coachella. That sounds like a band that would headline Coachella. Can you imagine that we live in a world in which Eric Adams got indicted before Francis Suarez? How is that even possible? Three Americas, actually. Three Americas, yeah. Well, first he's a Democrat.

Second, and I haven't been able to confirm this, I heard he's black. What? I think that might be why we were able to indict him earlier. Is that true? I just want to let everybody know I have a few black friends. I mean...

So is that why he won? Is that why he won the race to indictment? Because it strikes me that they've done basically the same things. Like, they're essentially like the same guy. I think Francis Suarez has a lot more outside employment and employers, but I don't really understand. A street team. How that...

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's I do think that that was his advantage was being a black man. That's where the indictment came in a lot quicker. Is that how he found himself in handcuffs before before anybody else? Yeah, that'll do it. Yeah. I don't know if you if you forget this about yourself, Billy, but when you're white, like you could do whatever you want. And it's for. Oh, no. By God. Oh, no. Bye. I have not forgotten that.

Yeah. I've not forgotten that. In fact, I've embraced that wholeheartedly. I mean, honestly, getting a tax cut and some of y'all deported. I mean, that's what I won this election. Don't have to worry about getting a ticket. Amazing. Don't have to worry about your safety when you walk down the street at night. That's entirely true in this town. That is true. But I would I would say that.

coming up Milhouse as far as this election is concerned for me. Yeah. It's nice to know that everybody around me hates women. That's been really comforting. Everybody in this country. It's not everybody around you. It's mostly everybody. It's certainly over 53 percent of the women around you is what I would say. Yeah. And they also also are very dead in the eyes as well to internalize misogyny. Yeah. I think. Yeah. Big time. What

are you most looking forward to? We asked this question of Uncle Luke last show because everybody's glass half empty. Cream pie half empty. Well, that's still not as reversible. Go on. I'm sorry not to get into science. My question is, so what are you looking forward to from the next four years of American history? Um...

I'm just glad that didn't come out the other end. It did. What was that? It did. Roy, we need to clean up. Oh, no. Oh, no. You got a janitor for this. You know what I'm looking forward to? You know what I'm most looking forward to? I was actually thinking about this. And this is the one upside to this election.

I think we have a sound reason to refuse to ever engage in a group photo ever again. What does that mean? Because I can't take photos and be associated with people. I can't be standing next to people that voted my rights away. And I hate group photos. I hate group photos. I think they're cheesy after a comedy show, after...

after an event, after a wedding, after a funeral, after an orgy. It's like, what do we need this for? You know, after like riding Tower of Terror at Universal Studios. So I've always hated group photos and now I have a reason for not engaging and for refusing them. I can say, I don't know who the fuck

I'm standing next to and I don't want people to assume I associate with them. Statistically speaking, though, you are going to be walking around even in New York, by the way, walking around among people who, as you say, voted your rights away. What are you going to do about that? It's like almost I don't know where the popular vote count is now. It's almost what, 49 point something percent vote.

The thing is, I could just be myself more in New York. So even if I'm walking around people that didn't vote the way that I wanted them to, I can yell I'm having a gay abortion with Joe Biden and the way to get rid of it is the vaccine. And they're like, God, New York comedy is amazing. Like, it's just so... And it comes to worse, if I hate my life in New York, it's only a matter of time before a random man comes by and punches me in the face. I hope they bring that back. Take me out of my misery. I would think... I would think that...

Anybody in this country, 100% of the country, would respect and admire Joe Biden impregnating you. At that age, being able to get it up? I mean, Robert De Niro. We can say that now. We'll be around. Robert De Niro did that, though, right? Robert De Niro just, like, knocked somebody up. Al Pacino. Al Pacino. That's who it is. I get my racist Italian uncles confused. Wait. Who said they're racist? They're Italian. Oh, my God.

My uncle literally said the other day, and he thought he was being so woke and progressive when he said this about immigration. He goes, well, you know, you can't deport everybody. It's like, who's going to clean my house? That's my uncle. His name is Vito. No, those are the black jobs that Trump was talking about. That's going to be problematic, by the way. There's no doubt about it. The impact that immigration or mass deportations will have on the economy, will have on people's health.

One thing we'll have is fewer fire alarms here. In the middle of a podcast. I think we just got, I think we got too woke. And I think immigrants are keep pulling the fire alarm is what I think is happening. We can say that now. Howdy loyal listeners. It's Mike Ryan and we're getting pretty close to wishing folks happy holidays. I'm sure many of you are already in the planning stages of opening up your homes and hosting holiday get-togethers.

It can be stressful. Everyone's got an opinion. So why don't you make life easy for yourself? Make everybody happy and give them the gift of Miller Time. That's right. to the table women should be the best speaker on abortion but

Is she the best messenger? Is she the best person? And for me, I don't think so. You know, every year people gather to play fantasy basketball or fantasy football or whatever. And we're playing fantasy basketball. We would pick in one second, all of us, probably LeBron James. Well, we have that type of opportunity, but they seem to be squandering it by taking a lesser pick. And I don't like who's your parties. Who's your parties? LeBron James. Then, John, who would match that?

Well, there's probably the LeBron James is retired. His name was Barack Obama. So that was our LeBron James and Bill Clinton was our Michael Jordan. Those are once in a generation players. But there are people like Andy Beshear from Kentucky, Shapiro from Pennsylvania, Kelly from Arizona, Whitmer, and even, you know, Michelle Obama, if somebody wanted to see if she's up for it.

Sports. Had to come up with a sports metaphor there, Roy. Who's the James Harden? All these sports metaphors make my dumb lady brain hurt. All right. Settle down, baby machine. We can say that now. So that was a flashback Friday, by the way. That was July 23rd of the year of our Lord 2024. That was Florida attorney John Morgan really calling the game before it even started and

Correctly, no less. And I was going to introduce John as...

One of the most famous lawyers in the South. But then I went to L.A. a few weeks ago. And sure as shit, I'm driving from LAX to my hotel. And what do I look out my goddamn window and see? A giant f***ing Morgan & Morgan billboard right in Los Angeles. And I'm like, holy shit, 3,000 miles away. I can't escape this guy. Move over, Pitbull. It's the new Mr. Worldwide. Yes, absolutely right. What area code are you in, John, right now?

Right now, I'm at 407. Right. So he's gone from Mr. 407 to Mr. Worldwide. That's or Mr. USA. John Morgan is joining us. John, there's been a lot of we call it Monday morning quarterbacking, a lot of autopsying, you know, here postmortem in here on this election. But you were pretty well ahead of the curve and you were also an insider. I mean, you are a very prominent Democratic fundraiser and donor. You had raised a lot of money for your friend,

Joe Biden at the time. And you kind of saw the writing on the wall the way I looked at at the time. And we didn't really talk about much about this publicly, Democrats. I'm now an NPA. But you did talking about the fact that if we're going to coup the president of the United States, the

The anointed successor has to be what I'd call a napalm candidate. It's got to end the election right then and there. And when Kamala Harris became the presumptive nominee, it was still a tied score. And that did not bode well, obviously, for the incumbent administration. So, John, what did you see at that moment in time that troubled you and you, in fact, actually pulled out as being a donor to a Kamala Harris campaign? That's right. I saw her.

I saw her in the primaries. When she ran for president, she got no delegates. She got 8% of the vote in her own state of California. She was beat badly. And while I like the idea of a woman president,

you know, if you say you if you were against her, it's like all of a sudden you're a misogynist because, you know, you're calling balls and strikes. Had nothing to do with that. I wanted, listen, nobody fought harder for Hillary than me. But I thought two things. One, I did not think that she would resonate to break through what had to be broke through, which was the independents. That's who elects people now. I mean, 35% of the voters voted

Are Republicans 32% are Democrats, 34% are independents. That's the game. And most of those independents are really Republicans or Democrats. So they're like 6%. I saw that. Plus, I didn't like the idea of running on this whole campaign of, you know, let's protect democracy when we don't have an election to pick our own candidates. It was hypocritical. You mean the lack of a Democratic primary? Yeah.

Right, or a convention, a mini convention, something. You could have gone in and picked Meg Whitmer from Michigan and Josh Shapiro from Pennsylvania, and that would have been one hell of a ticket. That would have taken care of Michigan. That would have taken care of Pennsylvania, maybe. And if you save Wisconsin, you may be okay. But they didn't do that. Not only did they not do that,

I believe she picked the guy from Minnesota because she didn't want to be challenged by somebody sharp like the guy from Pennsylvania.

In business, a lot of times businesses go down, A's hire B's because they're intimidated by A's, and then B's hire C's. You know, to build a great company, A's have to hire A's. Hire people better than you, smarter than you, make you better. She got this high school assistant coach who didn't even carry his own district in Minnesota. I mean, look, I know my high school assistant coaches, and I don't see them as vice presidents.

So you're talking, of course, about Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Yeah. Tim Walz, the governor of Minnesota, who was, of course, Kamala Harris's running mate. I want to, you know, get to the nitty gritty here. I mean, I feel that, you know,

In all honesty, Joe Biden probably would have won at least Pennsylvania. I'm thinking Joe Biden probably performs better than Kamala Harris performs if he made it to the finish line here. But I mean, I just really thought that everybody talking about how like, oh, the vice president is next in line. Oh, how can we leapfrog a woman of color? And I'm like, first of all, the vice president is not next in line. OK, it's not the presumptive nominee. And I'll tell you how I know. 2016 is how I know.

Because Joe Biden didn't run for president in 2016. And had he run for president in 2016, we probably wouldn't be having this conversation because he would have won, okay, in 2016 against Donald Trump. And it strikes me, and I just, I feel like we have to have this conversation quite openly because...

Brittany, let me just tell you, as a young woman in America, you can be anything you want to be, dream big, grow up, and you can do anything except be president. Let's be perfectly real about this because it was 2016 all over again, but worse. They're like, we're not just going to nominate Hillary Clinton. We're going to nominate a woman of color in this country. I have to say it because we can say that now. I mean, this just seemed like doomed from the start. And what do you think, John?

- 100%, look, I think what happened is, we know what happened. Pelosi thought there was gonna be a convention. Obama did not endorse her for five days. Here's the dirty little secret. Obama didn't want her. Pelosi didn't want her. But Biden, I believe, and look, I'm gonna be at the White House tomorrow for a dinner. I think Biden was pissed that he was pushed out and he said, " you." And when he said, " you,"

There's Harris. And Obama waited for five days, you know, and then all of a sudden everybody had to coalesce around her because they're running out of time. And with Harris, it looked like here's how the election went. People who voted for Harris were voting against Trump. People who voted for Trump were voting for Trump.

When they're not voting for you but against your opponent, that's a tough climb, and she couldn't make it. She didn't make the case. The other problem she had is she could never untether herself from Biden. It's Harris-Biden. It's the Harris-Biden, Biden-Harris economy.

And she couldn't go out and she wouldn't go out and say, look, I think Joe up. Let me tell you what I do different. Right. I also think, though, that you're talking about issues now. I don't think this election was about issues. It was not about competency or character. This election was about this. And it began with defund the police. It began with transgender swimmers.

This election was more about woke transgender swimmers and defund the police than it was about the inflation in the war in Ukraine. But those culture wars are not Democratic culture wars. Those are Republican culture wars. Democrats don't really give a shit about them. They're just like, where are these people going to go to the bath?

room? Like, can we just have like, where are they going to go? They got to go somewhere. Republicans want to run on those issues. But those issues and day one mass deportations do not help the economy. In fact, quite the opposite. So that's why I'm saying this wasn't an election about issues. This is the WWE. And that's what the Democrats keep f***ing

missing. This isn't about competency or character or commitment to the Constitution. As far as I'm concerned, the Democrats should have nominated Tom Hanks and Mark Cuban or Oprah and Michelle Obama. Anybody who could win. It didn't matter who was competent, who was next in line. The bullshit petty politics of we can't leapfrog this person in the vice. That was it was that was a losing proposition. But don't forget this. If they had leapfrogged Harris and

she would have thrown a shit fit, a shit fit. And she would have been saying the things that, you know, we know she'd be saying. And like what? This is racism. This is misogynism. This is OK. This is about winning. This is about winning an election is what it should have been. But all she could listen, she cares about her.

Not about us. And that's why she would have done it, because she had one chance at the brass ring. But then she was right there. And by the way, don't forget, she thought she was going to win. Oh, poor shit. Yeah, I think she did as well, too. And I think she all you got to do is watch her in these rallies. She didn't walk. She pranced.

You know, when you walk, I mean, you know how people walk with confidence when you know what somebody's getting ready to come up and give a speech or sing a song. Like, hey, that mother f***er can sing. And then he sings. You know, by the way they walk. When she was walking with Oprah, she was walking with confidence. She thought she was going to win because they told her she was going to win. Yeah. They had $200 million. But listen, you guys are in Florida.

i'm in the wall street journal today being quoted they were running tons of ads in florida

That was like, as I said in the Wall Street Journal this morning, it's like filling a wheelbarrow full of millions and millions of dollars and just catching it on fire. I mean, Trump was not going to lose Florida. He won by 13 effing points. But who was buying these ads? Who was running this campaign? There needs to be a colonoscopy on the waste. How about an audit?

and an audit. And they end up with $20 million in debt at the end of a $2 billion campaign. Jesus. Yeah. I'll tell you how it can be. Will you pay Oprah's production company $2.5 million for the production? When you pay to put her on the sphere in Nevada, when you spend tens and tens of millions of dollars in Florida, uh,

The most effective ad sheet that Trump had was the transgender ad. And they never pushed back on that. I talked to Bill Clinton about that. He said, they've got to answer it. They never did. They never did. And that ad ran 60% of the time because that pisses people off. Why does it piss people? Don't care about transgender. Look, whoever you are is who you are and who you should be. But parents don't,

it's unfair for a biological male to be playing with their girls and competing with their girls. There's a unfairness and it resonated with the voters. Yeah, I would agree. And I think that's like one of the main criticisms I heard as well, too, is her

on social issues versus real issues. But to your point about everybody internally and everybody around her really thinking that she was going to win the election, a friend of mine who works in politics and is a Democrat and was a big Harris supporter, I had asked her, I said, how are you feeling going into this election? And she was at a Harris-Waltz rally in D.C. the day before. And she said, oh, my God, the energy was amazing there. And

And I was like, well, that's, yeah, I would assume it is. Everybody who was there was a supporter of her and planning to vote for her. But that tonality and that vibe, if you will, is not necessarily reflective of everything else across the nation. And I did vote for her, obviously, because it was choosing between the lesser of two evils. And even I can tell you the celebrity endorsements...

The brat lingo. It was lost on me. But let me say this, though. To be fair, looking at the numbers, I think Kamala Harris is going to have the third most votes

popular votes of any presidential candidate in history. Biden is safe at number one. Donald Trump will come in with second with I think he's inching above 49 to 50 percent of the popular vote. She got votes. And as John said, perhaps those were people voting against her opponent rather than voting for her, which is problematic. But I want to I want to leave on on this thought, John, because we are in Florida. We are Florida men. And I want to talk about

the money that was wasted here. But it was literally lighting it on fire. I agree. Every time I saw Harris say it, I'm like, what are they doing? What are they doing? Spend it in a real swing state. Yeah. So my question is, though, we heard a lot of... I resigned from the Miami-Dade Democratic Executive Committee and switched my... I've only been a...

Democrat in the state of Florida from or period from 2018 to 2024. I'm now back to where I was for the first 30 years of my life thereabouts in NPA. And because of the grifting, because of Nikki Freed's big heart,

lie. Florida is in play. And I will tell you, all year long, every time I heard it, I played whack-a-mole with it. And I retweeted, I said, Florida is not in play. We need to stop gaslighting ourselves and our donors and our voters. This is a rebuilding year.

I'm a Dolphins fan. I know a lot about rebuilding years. That's all you do is rebuild. Absolutely. So what I'm saying is, what does Florida do? When you got these grifters running the party, that Florida in play thing, you know what that was. That was to get money from the National Party so they could pay their consultant cartel that has held this party hostage down here for basically 30 years. The Democrats have been a non-entity since the turn of the century, since Jeb Bush was the governor. Long

Charlton Charles was the last of the Mohicans. Yeah. And they're telling us Florida is in play. That was insane bullshit. So what do we do down here? Because I believe in a I believe in competition. I'm a capitalist. I believe in a robust, you know, challenging each other. It's funny you should say that, capitalist, because today.

I'm an MPA also and have been ever since the squad and the socialists came. They started putting the word socialist at the end of Democrat. Bernie Sanders, Democratic Socialist. But Phil Levine, who's your mayor down there, he and I are. He's not anymore. He was a former Miami Beach mayor. Right. But he and I, he wrote me today and I said, I've got to if we're going to have a third party, you know what the name of my party would be? The capitalists.

Just own it. The capitalists, not the socialists, not the Republicans, not the Democrats. We are the capitalists. We are the capitalistic party. We believe we believe in capitalism. And we also believe in taking care of those who can't take care of themselves. That's the American way.

That's the American way. We don't listen. The MAGA people are mad because they're mad. They're mad because they're falling behind. But listen, I got news for the MAGA people. All these illegal immigrants you're worried about. Find me one American that lost their job to an illegal immigrant. They don't because Americans aren't going to pick fruit. They're not going to wash windows.

50 floors up. It's going to be a small Guatemalan up there. You're not going to ever see, you know, some corn-fed guy from Nebraska up on a scaffold. We can say that now. We need the illegal immigrants. The economy would crash without the illegal immigrants. And so, but the MAGA people think that they're their problems on the right. And on the left, they just want, you know,

Free money. I think they also just think that having them here is just tarnishing what they believe true, what they believe America is. Like, it's an embarrassment. By the way, what's interesting, the Venezuelans, the Cubans, they were moved toward Trump because they're like, I'm in. I got mine. Keep everybody else out. Once we get ours, I got mine. I understand the frustration. I don't know the actual solution, but...

You know, we need these 13 illegals to do the work that will not be done by Americans. They'll be done by Mexicans. They'll be done by, you know, the lady who takes care of my place is from El Salvador. She's here legally. So don't be a sin ice up here. But and she is a I'm on my way. Yeah.

We have a narc here in the studio. They're not going to get rid of them. They're going to go through and make a lot of eye watchers. Not going to be a wall. They're not going to get rid of them because guess what? They can get rid of them tomorrow if they want to. You know how? Make it a third degree felony, $100,000 fine to hire one. You do that and they're all gone tomorrow.

all the farmers, all the janitorial services, they're all paying illegal immigrants. If you want to get rid of the illegal immigrants in this country, it's a felony. You go to prison for a year and you pay $100,000 fine and you don't need f***ing ICE.

John Morgan, ForThePeople.com. Say adios, amigos. Not the ice. Oh, no, go to Abogados.com. I'm there, too. ForThePeople.com, ClassAction.com, HurricaneLawyer.com. John Morgan, thank you so much. Love you guys.

There are a lot of immigrants in this country who are like Grover in There's a Monster at the End of This Book. You're undocumented and you support Donald Trump.

I support Donald Trump for the economy. If they let in hundreds of thousands of people who already have criminal records, if deporting them creates a mass deportation, I'm all for it. But what if rounded up in all of that are people who work on a farm? They're doing the jobs that Americans don't want to do. Does that worry you? That wouldn't be fair. Of course, you know, they need to make sure that they don't throw away, they don't kick out, they don't deport people that are family-oriented.

If you get deported, would you regret your support to Donald Trump? He's saying that he wouldn't regret supporting Donald Trump. Do you have a plan in case you get deported? So clearly there's a lot of confusion, even from supporters of Trump.

President-elect Donald Trump about what is going to happen with the promised denaturalization and mass deportation plans that have been promised basically from day one of the new administration, which is right around the corner at the end of January. If we make it. I think we'll make it. I think we'll be okay. I think this reality show is going to be a blast. I think this reality show is going to be a blast. What are you worried about? World War III? Yes. Yes.

Fair point. I need a lobotomy. Ada Pozo. Another one? Yeah. Ada Pozo is a veteran immigration attorney here in South Florida. You can find her at PozoGoldstein.com. And Ada, I guess I should, right off the bat, is I imagine you've been getting telephone calls from concerned immigrants.

residents, clients, both naturalized and not naturalized. And what seems to be on the forefront of everyone's minds right now that you are hearing from? What are their fears, their concerns, and what are you telling them? Yeah, Billy, unfortunately, my phone's been ringing off the hook and everybody is just panicked. And that's exactly what this administration wants. I mean, Tom Coleman has said it himself, shock and awe. That's what they want. They want to come in on day one,

bring in massive police presence, even bring in the military to just round up everybody who's here illegally and deport at least a million people in his first year. That's what he says he wants. So everybody's panicked. They want to know, is that going to be me? What are the priorities? Who are they going to try and deport first? But what if I have kids? Those are all the questions I'm getting on a daily basis. And it's very sad. People are here in South Florida. People in Florida are wondering if they should leave the state.

because we know very well that our governor is going to cooperate fully with whatever Trump would like him to do to help deport people. So it's just a mass panic right now is what I'm hearing from all my clients or potential clients that are calling the office. So Tom Homan is the president

President-elect's incoming border czar. He served as the acting head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ICE, during the first Trump administration. And he's been making the rounds on news, 60 Minutes, talking about, as you said, the shock and awe on day one. And that really, I guess, is the question, right? What is the criteria going to be? I have a lot of immigrant colleagues.

friends and neighbors. I guess it's not my problem, I can say, as a white man born in America, whose parents were born in America, whose their parents were born in America, their grandparents were born in America. I don't know how far back they're going to go to denaturalize here. But is that the question? What is the criteria going to be? Where are they going to start first? What do we know? I think we do know that they have said they're going to target so-called criminals or people, whether they are naturalized or not, people who had been convicted of

of crimes, right? The easy one to say is criminals. I think everybody agrees if you've been convicted of violent crimes that you should be put in deportation proceedings. So that's the easy one. But the other thing that President-elect Trump is saying they're going to prioritize is people that have final orders of deportation.

Most people with final orders of deportation in this country are not criminals. There are a lot of people that didn't go to court, so they ended up with an order of deportation and absentia. There are a lot of people that may be lost in asylum claim but have been here for many, many years and are working, paying taxes and have no crime. So it's not just people

people that are criminals that are going to be deported. It's going to be the lowest hanging fruit because we know he wants the most massive, ginormous deportation that this country has ever seen. And it's going to be the easiest people to deport, which are people with final orders of deportation. And yes, also people with serious criminal convictions.

Now, you see violent crimes, but, you know, down here in South Florida, particularly, a lot of people have been convicted of Medicare fraud. A lot of people have been convicted of drug related crimes that may be considered nonviolent, but are pretty serious felonies in the face of defrauding the taxpayers and the federal government in terms of,

of poisoning the streets with drugs from Latin America into this country. And some of those folks are naturalized. That's the thing, too, is that people hear a lot about illegal immigration, but they're talking about, and Stephen Miller, who is going to be, I mean, beyond the borders are, he really is Trump's guru of immigration, has said quite openly that denaturalization is on the table, which means that people who have become citizens,

Right. Might not be citizens anymore and then might be deported. Yes. I mean, we saw this in a smaller scale during Trump's first administration. It was Operation Second Look where they went back into the naturalization applications of people and see if there was any kind of fraud that was committed. And they tried to denaturalize people.

Didn't get very far, but they've promised that this time it's going to be Operation Second Look. Turbocharged is the term that they use, that they're really going to go after people to try and see if, for example, when on that citizenship application, when people apply to naturalize it, ask if you've ever committed a crime for which you have not been arrested. People answer no. A couple of years later, they maybe get convicted of a crime and it turns out that they were involved in that scheme before they naturalized. That would be grounds to denaturalize someone.

But the whole process is in a federal court. This isn't something Trump can come in and say, you, you, you, you're denaturalized. There is a process in federal court. And this process, though, has no right to counsel. So if you get put in a denaturalization process and you can't afford an attorney, good luck. You're going to have to represent yourself against the United States government trying to take away your citizenship. It appears like as if he's just going to do whatever he can to meet this quota of deporting 1 million people.

Americans are one self-quota. It's a self-made quote, self-made quota. Right. Per usual, he's going to make up all of his own rules. I think if you look at day one of the previous Trump administration with the Muslim ban, it was like chaos. So, I mean, there's no telling. He's already said that he's going to use the military to enforce this policy, whatever this policy may ultimately be. So I mean, very well could see soldiers on the streets fighting.

of American towns rounding up immigrants. We have the state of Texas has volunteered, I think, what, thousands of acres of property to build deportation camps, you know, a place for people to go and think and really concentrate at these camps. Yeah. Yeah. Even concentration camps, you know, if you think about it. And so where do we we just keep talking about where do we begin? But like they've already said that TPS is also this is a TPS is a policy for

that Congress created back in, I think, 1990. For temporary protective status, it's a humanitarian effort for people whose countries are in tumult, of which there are countless, Haiti among them. And so people are not going to be protected anymore by these laws. And I'm kind of wondering, though,

about the Cuban Adjustment Act. A lot of my Cuban friends feel that they are safe from these policies. And I have to wonder, we talked about Stephen Miller, who, of course, has been an authority on immigration policy for Donald Trump through all these years. Katie Miller, of course, is his wife. She's a Florida woman. She was a communications director for the vice president. And I'll never forget what she said back during the first administration when people were concerned about the family separation policy. Listen to this.

Katie Miller, she was spokesperson at DHS during the family separation crisis, a vocal, unwavering defender of what we were doing taking these kids away from their parents. Katie Miller told Jacob Soboroff, quote,

But it didn't work, end quote. Jacob responds, quote, it didn't work? I will never forget what I saw. Seriously, are you a white nationalist, he asked, exasperated. No, she said, but I believe if you come to America, you should assimilate. Why do we need to have, like, Little Havana?

Why do we need to have Little Havana? Because our neighborhoods are segregated down here? Well, that's true. But, you know, it makes me wonder, you know, we had talked about this on the last show about the English-only ordinance that was passed overwhelmingly on a referendum in Miami-Dade County in 1980.

This after the county commission had acknowledged that we are already by the late 70s a bilingual community. And we are in fact today, now 40 years later, we are a minority majority community. And it makes me concerned about the culture of and future of this community. Otto, what do you make of that? Is anybody safe? If TPS doesn't protect anybody, does the Cuban Adjustment Act of 1966 protect anybody?

Well, the Cuban Adjustment Act is not really going to help a lot of people anymore because we don't have wet foot, dry foot. So ever since wet foot, dry foot got taken off,

off, then when a Cuban tries to enter the United States, they're not given any kind of admission. They're not given a parole document, which is what used to happen when they would come in under wet foot, dry foot. So now when Cubans come in, they're never technically admitted into the United States. They're placed in court proceedings without being admitted. And the Cuban Adjustment Act requires that the Cuban national have been admitted a year and a day ago in order to qualify for residence.

So we've seen a watering down of the Cuban Adjustment Act.

since wet foot, dry foot has been taken away. The only Cubans that really benefit nowadays from the Cuban Adjustment Act are the ones that are managed to come over here on a parole, which we know that humanitarian parole is going to be gone now under Trump. The ones that come in without parole or Cuban nationals that happen to have another citizenship, for example, that also have citizenship from Spain and they enter the United States on an ESTA, a visa waiver, then they're able to apply for residence under the Cuban Adjustment Act.

But those are really the only Cubans that can use it now. It's been watered down a lot. And I suspect that it's going to be watered down more when now we're not even going to have the option of the humanitarian parole for Cuba. But that is that is forward facing, though. I'm talking about backward facing, meaning you have naturalized Cuban immigrants. But is it possible to see some of them denaturalized and deported?

Well, they would have to. The United States Supreme Court did find that in a unanimous decision that in order to denaturalize someone, there has to have been a material fraud that was committed. So it's not just so the Cuban Adjustment Act is no longer here. We're going to take away your residence. No, it has to be that they have to prove that that Cuban national or any other national for that matter, in denaturalization proceedings, committed a material fraud, lied about something on their application that had they told the truth, they would have likely been denied.

That's what the government is going to have to prove to denaturalize anyone who has already become a United States citizen in this country. Now, is it going to become harder to become a U.S. citizen? I believe so, that absolutely it's going to become a lot harder. So obviously in your line of work, you had mentioned up top that naturally you're experiencing a lot of panic from clients or potential clients and paranoia. And then obviously

I'm curious about the other side of that perspective, which we run into often in Miami, which is Cuban Americans or Cuban people idolizing Trump blindly and idolizing this administration. So what's the ratio between people that are legitimately concerned for themselves and their family versus people that think that they are invincible, quite like President-elect Donald Trump? Like, are you seeing a lot of...

a lack thereof of rightful paranoia and people thinking, oh, it won't happen to me because that to me has always been the most disheartening and confusing sentiment is so many individuals fight so hard to get to come into this country and they speak like as if they're proud of their culture and they speak like as if they're proud of their nationality. And then the second that they are able to achieve some level of citizenship, they turn to their very brothers and sisters of Cuban descent and they say, OK,

No, no, no. Like a Miami nightclub list is full. Nobody else can come in. You know, so I'm wondering, you know, obviously you're seeing the panic, but are you seeing the Delulue for lack of a better term? I think I saw a lot more of the Delulue before the elections. I think now the plan is becoming clearer.

it's people are starting to go, oh, wait a minute. We messed around and now we're going to find out. I mean, I've had people sitting in my office before, a couple where the husband is a United States citizen. The wife is undocumented. And I tell them, look, we have to you know, it's things are probably going to change with the election. So you might want to file now in the election. If Trump doesn't win, I'm leaving. I'm like,

Well, no, I don't mean that they're going to change and make it easier for your undocumented wife. Oh, well, no, no, no. She's married to me, so everything's going to be fine. There still is a lot of that level of tabloid. But I think that the more and more we start seeing the videos of the military or law enforcement, ICE agents and people getting picked up and families getting separated, I think that that's going to go away pretty quickly.

If Trump doesn't win, I'm leaving voluntarily. Now, if Trump does win, I may be leaving involuntarily. Wild times coming up and the busy season for you, Ada. Go to Ada. You can find Ada at PozoGoldstein.com. I know a lot of people out there are going to need some help. Better to get your consult on now than later. Can you help me relocate to Italy? Yes.

I actually volunteer to not be a citizen anymore, I'm pretty sure. I'll live anywhere else. Oh man, I gotta tell you, being a white man right now, this is our golden age too. I mean, we have had it too hard for too long and finally, finally white men in this country are going to get a chance to get a leg up. We can say that now! I hear that next summer in Miami they're going to throw a straight pride parade and that you're going to be leading the pack.

Former Miami City Commissioner Alex Diaz de la Portilla has been cleared of all criminal corruption charges against him. In a statement, Broward State Attorney Harold Pryor said his team concluded there was no reasonable likelihood of conviction. Diaz de la Portilla was suspended from the commission last year following his arrest.

He was accused of secretly taking payments from the owners of a private school in exchange for support to build an athletic complex on public land in Miami's Edgewater neighborhood. The Miami mafia is undefeated. I mean, undefeated. So the Broward state attorney's office got this case because Miami-Dade state attorney Catherine Fernandez-Rundle was responsible.

She's conflicted out because she's like a part of the incestuous cesspool of corruption down here. So she's like, no, no, I got a conflict. I'm going to kick this up to Broward, which Governor DeSantis did by order. And then they indict these guys. They arrest them. They book them. They mugshot them. There's like a trial date. And then they do more investigation. Like, you know what? On second thought.

All of this was kosher. All of the alleged bribery and money laundering and campaign finance laws that we indicted them and charged them with breaking, that's all...

are bad. I'm not going to lie. When you were saying they indicted them, they arrested them. I thought the next one, rule of threes, was going to be, and then they let them run for president of the United States. Well, actually what happened was Ron DeSantis removed or suspended Miami City Commissioner Alex Diaz-Laportilla from office. And then he ran for re-election like a couple months later and lost to Miguel Gabela, who's now the District 1 Commissioner in the city of Miami. But this guy...

It's just I can't. This is the thing. We are in a golden age of corruption. And like, as I say, the Miami of today is the America of tomorrow. So all of these red flags and all of these indicators and like, you know, you're saying you're saying I have a lot of red flags, red flags. I know them so well. I actually gravitate towards them.

It's like, man, if he's got a beer gut and he smokes American spirits, sign me up. Anyways, I like that you said we're in the golden age of corruption. Like, that's notable given the fact that it's Miami. Like, every year feels like the golden age of corruption. How do you determine? Because it's cyclical, certainly. But, like, the only analog of this in Miami history is from about 1997 to 2001 where we had, like,

Where the corruption just got so out of hand, you had the arrest of multiple city officials, multiple county officials. And it all culminated in 2001 with the arrest of then Miami Mayor Joe Carollo. He's a white beaver, white beaver. Yeah, that's Joe Carollo.

on domestic violence charges. You need this. You need a Grammy. I mean, the musical. I need an enema. You need it. You and me both. You need a Grammy. The musical commentary is A+. You're goddamn right, Meatball. Sorry. I feel like you keep body shaming me with that Meatball. It's because I'm a... It's because I'm a...

It's because I'm Italian and a legal midget? That's rude. Okay. Here's the thing, though, about that 97 to 2001 era. People were arrested. People were convicted. Some people weren't. But the most important thing is that law enforcement did their job. Now there are no checks and balances. Now somebody gets arrested and the state attorney's office, the prosecutor's like...

Oh no, our bad. They're actually cool. Everything we said that they did that was illegal, everything we described as bribery and money laundering, psych, like we're just playing. - Every time you walk into the office, they're like, it's opposite day. - So this is the problem. So when you say, how can you tell this is the golden age of corruption in Miami? It's because of the lack of accountability.

That's the major difference now than I think ever before, because we did see people not only indicted, but we didn't see the charges dropped. We saw cases either end in guilty pleas or in convictions. And now what we're seeing is the very people who are supposed to be holding these folks accountable in law enforcement, in the state attorney's offices. They're just like.

f***ing up and sort of acknowledging that they're f***ing up. They're aware of it. Yeah. And by the way, if these guys did nothing illegal, how did they get arrested? How did they get indicted? How did they get charged? You sound like me after I left my very abusive ex and everyone was like, is he really that

That's Miami.

That's kosher. Yeah, well, I mean, I think that they're trying to set a precedent of a lack of accountability because it's only a matter of time before their own transgressions rise to the surface. And here's the thing about that. We've been talking about the Florida-fication thing.

of America. Miami and the Florida of today is the America of tomorrow. We're kind of ahead of the curve. Full Florida. We're going full Florida. It's always. It's T.D. Ullman, the Magic City, rest in peace, T.D. Ullman. That's where the concept of the Miami of today is the America of tomorrow comes from. That every challenge we'll face or crisis that will befall us as a nation in the years or even decades to come all happened in

Florida and particularly South Florida. Or the guinea pig. First, already. Already. And we export the f***ery nationwide. And we really have this time. But Florida, or I should say America is getting a little less Florida this week when Matt Gaetz announced that he is not, that he's withdrawing his name from contention as United States Attorney General. Gracias, Matt Gaetz. Which I, for one, am kind of bummed about.

Yeah, you were bummed. I was, I mean, Roy and I got the news in real time and we felt like we manifested it because we were just talking a whole bunch of shit about it. You f***ed up. I know. Again, like I said, a black man and a white, young, vicarious woman. Just f***ing up the country. F***ing up the country. Trump is right. We need to be deported, but...

We were celebrating and then Billy... We can say that now. We can say whatever we want now. Goddamn right, Meatball. That's right. Damn it. At least call me marinara like the other girls. Because you're spicy. Because I'm spicy. Thank you. You're welcome. Spicy is like a euphemism for bitch. I apologize. I'm sorry. No, I accept. We can say that now.

We were rejoicing and Billy walks in and Billy's much smarter than I am. And Billy goes, no, no, just whiter and penisier.

Which equals smarter and superior. Goddamn right. Yeah. And he walks in and he goes, this is bad because if you thought he was terrible, it's about to get worse. Yeah, but it's not only that it's all downhill from Matt Gaetz. Matt Gaetz is fun. This is a reality show president. We're getting a reality show administration. He's fun. He's a pedophile. If you're a criminal at this point, one of two things is happening. You're getting deported or you're going to join the administration. And I just, I don't know. I think there's, as Uncle Luke would say, grab the popcorn. This is what the voters want.

And this is what we shall get. I have to say, whoever the casting director for this season of America is deserves an Emmy. I love crushing it. I just love it. I just heard, too, that Trump is going to create the Department of Vibes and appoint P. Diddy as the social chair. Grab the baby oil, Roy. Oh, please. We have some in the closet. And I think the Department of Interior might be J.D. Vance sponsored by Eldorado Furniture.

That is a super South Florida joke. Speaking of which, catch Britney Brave if you're in town for all the hilarity this weekend, Saturday, one night only. One night, two shows, 7 and 9.30, Adrian R. Roy, you can pull it up on your phone. Don't pull it up here. It's embarrassing. Pull it out. BrittanyBrave.com. They're coming all over the place. That's what I get for buying my domain off Truth Social. It's like...

It was like those Wicked toys in Wicked.com. Don't go. Oh, I saw that. They meant WickedMovie.com is what they meant. But here's the thing. I think parents are growing increasingly tired of having that sex ed talk with their kids and discussing repro rights and birth control. So if you think about it, the upside to that QR code
