Thanks, everyone, for listening to the pet pixel podcast, catching new episodes every week on youtube, spotify, apple podcast or wherever you get your favorite podcast.
Everyone, welcome back to the pet pixel podcast for those of you in the united states, happy thanksgiving. We're publishing this the day before thanksgiving. So I said that .
I would have no idea.
Escape from your family for an hour and a half, tell them you've got some very important people to listen to ah i'm joined as always by Jordan drake and Chris nickles.
I have no idea what's going on. I haven't been on a podcast in weeks. This is very thing for me. I forgot ten how to do this.
but even missed last week as well. So we preciate very sticky around.
but i'm going to do my best because, and we got what everybody's favorite. Is that fair to say? You're the most returning guests on the Peter pixel podcast .
with a third named legend.
gordon lang, from a camera labs, from dino bites, from travel tips with gordon from the guinness book of world records under favorite camera reviewer k.
gorden.
Here, can I tell you thanks for having me reassuringly affordable. I think that's what IT boils pa.
Plus, we told the viewers you would be returning at the end of the year. So we were kind of obligated yeah creatively to have you back the last time of things you said to us in new york city.
You H S the last time .
you are on, I think is our most listen to podcast. It's our blockbuster, our our titanic or avatar, some James Cameron movie. So we ve got a lot to live up to today but .
i'm actually we had back .
yeah solution.
get those name. Let's get him before .
Jordan gets to his favorite way to start episodes for anyone who who's just listening to this and catch the name. This is creating every camera makers. Twenty four. That's what the goal of this will be.
We probably won't get to tech support or comments this week because this is to take a while, but we did when beginning of the air outside the middle of the air like in the summer. Now we're going to see how those great stack up now that the year is coming to a close. But before we get to that, Jordan.
take IT away. Yeah, i'm curious, everybody, because I get to see this when we're on trips, but I want to know what is your coffee routine both at home and when you're on the road.
Yes, the best people for this like you've .
got to I knew my audience.
core, manic about coffee. Gorden, go first.
Well as funny you should mention that you didn't. 2, breathe me on this and put, just as IT happens, i've got a brand new air. Press the .
july because .
i'm a regular guy is fine. I actually got home IT. Secondly, does many years ago for traveling, right? Because I was fit with having not so much bad coffee, but this way, because you can get good coffee, but you gotten hunt IT down.
And sometimes you have got the time. Sometimes you're in the really remote location, you can't do IT. Ah so I brought to impress the hand ground doing IT transformed our trips, both word trips and vacations, family holidays.
And but then when I got at home, I realized that I was a great coffee machine to have at home as well. So I brew with an air press four times a day to me to on a literally every day. And I still use the hand ground because it's kind of you feel feel at one with the beans as she's grounding around.
This is grounding, not staring the park. This could be anything couldn't really the caldron yeah so so yeah I do that. But remember kids is all about the beans as we does with support your local um independent roaster. And there's plenty fortunately around where I live in brighton and I believe where you live, german are based important is going very coffee.
Fun fact, by the way, about the arrow press that was invented by Allan adeler. I believe he's the same guy who invented that circular frisbee, the one that's like just anyway, Allen is a big fan of pet pixel and he's actually written articles on pet pixel before. So we like Allan, if feel listening, we really appreciate you. And yeah, I also like I own an arrow press, but I haven't used IT in a while because I ve switched over to v sixty, my hari O V sixty system and every morning I get up, I grand my beans to order to order in air cloths and I make myself uh thirty grams of beans to four hundred and twenty grams of water at eighty nine to ninety degrees sales and yeah, think my big cup and then .
that's all I do these those details but but what about when you're on on a trip on a translation .
then so you guys i've seen IT when we when we get an airbnb. I may bring my whole sixty set up and I made you coffee before. True, if i'm forced to travel lighter, I will do press and I have a hand grinder as I have a knocked hand grinder that I like similar to the one you saw from jeremy when we were in new york order. But I have a smaller one um he has the bigger one that I actually like. He's Better but .
my I have to say I was the very grateful recipient of a taste of a magnificent coffee booed by geron and jeremy on the trip we were recently on together. And that was great, really, really fabulous. I've never personally as fast to do A V sixty in my hotel, will not support the repress, not thought I was being hold cold. But .
apparently you should organ.
So for what it's worth, jorden, Chris actually stated that coffee in japan, it's draw very forward, which is super red, is good.
I'm looking forward to the contrast here. Chris, what's years?
Oh, you want me to go. Um I love the dirty st, black st trailer trash coffee that you can find. I just, I want IT from a dinner.
I want IT from mcDonald. I want IT from like an old pot. Probably it's been sitting out for four hours.
I don't care. I like. And look, we we've gone to really nice coffee places together. I mean, we all went to a really fancy one in in japan, in tokyo that was great.
Like I can appreciate IT IT IT was very interesting in complex flavors and all this kind of stuff. I had a coffee from china. I didn't know china had coffee is amazing.
I but but my come for coffee would just be, i'm like, that's what so verticle. I can just drink whatever. I don't care as long as black and it's I don't care and it's warm so yeah and I don't know. I just feel like IT makes me in some way more like a assault to the earth and maybe or not so pretentious and not .
so whatever like all is guest pretentious?
Yeah the coffee maker gord's, well okay.
So you know to give context here at home, um I did use that we actually had in a spress so machine and so if you grind your beans um put IT in the in the thing used to be a bressed if you can believe IT or not but that's those days but put IT in the press you push IT down, mashed down yeah yeah yeah whatever that is and we had that and was fine but now it's like a lot of work on you're trying to get your kids to school.
So we got in a spress so simple, easy fake, you know like it's but it's expensive. But that works great. So because i'm not i'm drink right now, i'm not picky. This is stormier from this spares. So the best coffee for any youtube r to start their daily podcasting with.
yeah, not sponsored by this dress. Jordan.
wrap this up. I mean, I keep IT quick. I sit right in the middle. I do care about the coffee, but yeah, i've just got like A A ninja drip coffee maker that I bought because most of them will do twelve cups, but this sucker will do sixteen. So yeah, you just want lots.
I don't want the most coffee with the least effort I can get in the morning, but I do get kicking horse, kick ass coffee, which is great stuff. It's pretty here from british columbia. That is my default one.
But when i'm on a trip, I need coffee to function. I can't go out and get good coffee. So I room coffee at which I am embarrassed to admit.
But whatever they've got, if it's on the spread or I take coffee, it's some Crystals I por into a glass. I have to do that. And then I go out pursuing a Better cup of coffee, hopefully gordin's Jerry are there. But yeah, I do slam just to get out of bed.
That's the thing. I don't have to be embarrassed about drinking instant coffee if I have IT right. And honestly, there have been times is great to go with with gordon on these hunts. I mean, IT is fun, but sometimes we have to go on a hunt like he won't, just to rank train stops.
Usually.
yeah, and he's taken us on some adventures like barcelo. I remember that .
that was fun.
Was pan as well.
You did. And I was amazing. That was so cool. Yes, absolutely. But what I do that every day, no, if I can ask questions. So then what do you guys is a particular brand or process used for your coffee animals?
I stay with the same brand.
I'm not dignifying that with the response.
okay, because that's where I go to the arrow press. Anyways, we can .
move on .
just I was so good about that. And I guess, like you think, turn to start show now.
Yeah, that's not going to do that.

thanks to insistent for sponsoring the pet pics of podcast. Let's let's talk about why we didn't have a podcast last week. I I actually had a brief insane idea that we would try to do this in new york. I'm very glad that you evd talked me out of IT.
There would not have been an a one two episode that m argo if we were.
Actually it's gordon who said, no, what we're not doing. Thank you, gordon, for for it's fault. This is Better benefits.
So we got to do IT like a little bit or relaxed this week. Last week, SONY announced a one, two and the twenty eight hundred and seventy f 2GM。 You guys have any thoughts on either these knowledge you've seen? What other people have said that you may want to bring up everything like that overall? What do you think SONY did with these that you that on top of mind.
I mean, I don't know. I feel like I feel like I kind of want to save IT for when we're talking about zones grade because that's well, a bit, you know. But I mean, that being said, I mean, it's IT is interesting that this is the first slide ship to be updated from all the companies right in SONY kind of arguably started the whole area less flagship camera with original a ones.
So very interesting, very expected and all sorry, unexpected, I guess, and very, very impressive. But I get why there's controversy for IT. I think we should talk about that a bit as far as the lens goes.
I love IT. It's my I love IT. I want IT. It's like my favorite .
I want is this year official favorite zoom of like standard zoom of all time where where you said at this time?
Yeah maybe because I I know I just I love that focal length with the fast apache, not because of a faster appear rr junky. I'm really not like i've said many, many times, i'm happy with versatile f four lenses, but I like more than anything. I like the idea of just having like one lens and one camera that really that gets me off in a big way.
I want that. I like the minimal m be able to go with just one thing, not even take a camera. I really like that and yeah, well, so yeah and so this twenty to seventy f two yeah, just gets me off all over the place is so kid, because I have to back a prime.
It's sharp. There's distortion. There's distortion, no doubt. And that is that is something that gets corrected digital. We see that a lot.
So yeah, your corners suffer about, but you for the idea of just walk around shooting on the street and stuff I love IT. IT gives me the focal range that I can use for a lot of photography. And you can back up, you can back up if you need wider.
You can, you can walk in closer if you need tighter. So for me, i'd be like that one. If you are only going to have one lens, that would probably be I, something like I had again, I love the can and it's on a brand thing. I love the can in our reversion for the exact same reasons. But the SONY is smaller and lighter and maybe a little bit Better.
I have two things I actually want to bring up for you, Chris, on this, that thank you for reminding me. Uh, one of them is there were some visible on onerous in the both on the shot of me from japan and you didn't mention that in the video and it's been mentioned the comments a few times. So I wanted to bring IT things so we might not get to a comment section this week deserve reason that that .
that went unmentioned yeah, I was paid eighty six thousand dollars by so to not mention any onion rings. So which is great because this Christmas time and I need to get gifts from my kid so yeah ah anyways I I upset about IT. I didn't say IT and I should have but i'm going to drive my brand new car um thanks to Sunny so that's no like that is so now people like I knew IT no, it's like they're pretty minor.
But yes, I just know like I looked at IT and I guess I just didn't mention I forgot to mention IT because there's not major there's no rate like major. So bub effect and the boche doesn't really suffer from up. But yes, there were some monuments in there and I probably just forgot IT happens.
IT was specifically in the portrait example of jernam, definitely not as noticeable in other images, which makes me almost wonder if I had something to do with those particular light fixtures. But maybe it's .
are trying to cover up. We wouldn't the photo.
it's not the cleanest. It's not the cleanest and is rendering, I found not as good as I wanted you to be. Still very good, but not quite good. Certainly, if you want to go down the prime route on the most recent g master primes, you're gonna probably get some nice looking broker from them, yes. But still for what IT is, you have to vote ratio, you know, is still a really nice land.
The second thing I want to bring up, I was sitting in that presentation that only did the live one that they were streaming and was in that extremely cramped chair. And I couldn't help but here that they claimed full optical corrections of those corners. So it's sharp from edge to edge. And I was like.
I don't I don't .
know that's true, and I don't know why you would say that when it's going to be obviously provable that that's not correct.
Yeah and one I saw the rafales you can edit the raw files are open them. But I did see some of the the rafle renderings and yeah the distortion is and then IT gets corrected. And then again, this is something we see for many, many lengths manufacturer as a way to focus on other things like sharpness and corrections for flare and that kinds stop. So yeah, no, it's it's it's got distortion and IT is being corrected digitally .
and don't know why they would .
say otherwise. I don't I don't because i'm sure they still did something optically to make the corners as good as possible. But that doesn't mean they're not using digital correction to get those those corners back to straight and and their corners aren't terrible, but they're not sharp like the center is and that's even stopped down, like even stopped in one of five, six or f eight. Like the corners get Better but there never as good as in the center. Yeah ah okay.
we'll talk more about suning a bit. Plenty of time for that. Let's let's correct the record here. Take on is not closing the door on making prime lengths IT IT was a misconstrued quote out of france, and we got a new quote from that guy that i'll read to you hear what he says, and then i'll basically summarized what the actual truth hind in fetch. I can't say in french, he said.
in england, in french.
do you go to could you .
then just do like, could you just do like a really offensive ve french accent like a .
prison I did I I do with the north n english x and and IT sounds terrible. So no, i'd Better not.
I think I thought so much. Just thought as a cultural thing, like a historical thing isn't IT like a law in the U. K.
That you're not allowed to speak french or like the french or or go to france for very long or something like that? And vice first, I don't know. Maybe when I was a .
good I know maybe that was just in your head.
Chris. Oh, I don't know. okay.
yeah.
Wearing his back onto the road here, the president of Cameron france, a john Chris stove, a tey theory t angle T R T H I R Y. He says, what I wish to convey is that concentrating on zoom lens has been on recent strategy as we look to boost their lend selection in the mere less market and leverage our ingenuity and our expertise producing unique, exciting and useful zoom lens is to the mirrors market across several camera camera monts.
Cameron will always consider what the market is demanding and react accordingly to the extent Cameron will introduced privacy. Es has not been disclosed to me, and since I am not in a position to definitively comment on what products will be introduced in the future, I did not and could not indicate that we would not be introducing prime Lances. My comment was misinterpreted, and I appreciate this opportunity to cleared up yeah basically this this tracks essentially nobody outside of japan of any of these manufacturer has any idea what any these companies are going to do next.
They don't even tell their own employees what their product map is because they are so secretive. So this this makes sense. I was willing to take him at his word last time, the way he sounded that he had a very defensive that never known that prime else is not the focus.
But even if he had said that, he wouldn't actually know. He has no clue what tim on japan is planning on doing. And so yeah, what you can take away from this is we know nothing now that we didn't know before. Everything's exactly it's .
good news is good news to hear this because yeah, we love their primes. We want them to make more primes. Theyve always made beautiful primes in the past, and I would love to see a lot more of those come to the mirrors market. So .
yeah.
to let my dream die of the forty five, one point to eight maco lens.
good lens.
So right, i'd like .
to a family import .
you review.
Well, I saw the the the ninety macro that was quite recent. Wasn't IT very beautiful? Said, no, I just saw I didn't test IT at my guy, germany, Thomas.
He tested IT. So that's on the camera website. And yeah, he liked. I remember actually the um cron S P. Adapt told two version of that.
I had that lens when cry and thinking lay eighties in an m forty two feet. Remember the adapt tour to you. You could actually change the mount of IT.
And even then, IT was a legendary fiction, I think. And ninety, I wanna say two point four actually, or two point five, something like that. nice.
Yeah, really nice looking for a another one, actually, of those, I thought I put that out there because it's yeah in that tall too. I wanna get hold of one. really.
Come there. The official pro ed camera, your partner, Peter pixel.
that's good to know.
Thank you. Ah next story is one that shouldn't surprise anyone, because this company does not care what your rules are. They're gna do what they want. Young neo, Young neo, how would you say, Chris.
i'm not chinese. I don't know.
I don't know. I say. Young.
yeah. Young, I know you're not chinese, but you're you're usually good at pronunciation.
Jordan is not chinese.
Just in case was wondering, no, thanks. Clearing that up OK because .
summer some people are listening.
they're not watching. So just, you know, okay, well, they tease the thirty five millions of one paint one point eight prime lands that they are advertising with the very well known three letter word art that I there's no way they didn't just see sigma a has been doing really well with this one word. We should we should try tossing that word on there. Ah it's going to for A P, S, D cameras, E, X and z mounts. Uh.
the shots fired across the china c they .
may make IT for rf mount because they would ve done this before and completely ignored cannon and telling them they shouldn't. But you guys, when where they had an mt. T.
I did a little bit of digging into that. And the reason IT looks like how they're getting around this is I was complaining you had to actually push a button on the lens to take IT off of the lens mount. If you pushed the button on the camera, IT wouldn't actually come off of IT.
So it's not technically R F mout because IT doesn't be an add off with. So this seems to be the looper. I don't know that that's why, but IT makes sense. That was the thinking behind that.
First off, I don't know why always has been thirty five? That sucks. Why can't IT be a fifty? But IT reminds me, back in the S, L, R days, the first Young newlands I ever saw, IT was a copy of the can in A F fifty mile, one point eight and fifty, fifty, I mean, which is already a cheap plans.
And Young knows, like we will make IT even cheaper. And IT was a straight up rip off, like physical body dimensions, everything the same. I'm sure the optical formula was the same.
IT was hilarious because we sold a ton of them and they put a protective film over the front. L plastic. But I was like, so perfectly on there didn't have ripples or anything that you basically didn't notice.
And people were taking these lands and shooting on their cameras and returning them because, like, oh, it's soft and blurry. What gives? I don't know.
And then you like, peel off last that can give me back to them and and IT, I turned out to be basically identical to originals. I don't think the coatings were quite as good. But I mean, IT was a sharp lines. So they've been at this game for a long time.
Yeah I mean, they ripped off can and speed lights like they are basically made speed lights, not a thing you would buy first party from anymore. This is the company that was like, we will just sell a sixty dollar or one and so comes up.
So who thinks the next lens is that their going to bring out will have sport and contemporary match?
Because I think that .
would be that, yes, it'll say sports and contemplation.
We could not find anywhere where signal a actually has copyright or trademark to those words. It's difficult to past japan's like patenting system. So it's possibly did we couldn't find IT. But if if they do do a sport and then contemplation you, I think that's technically .
sub .
the boy.
you can you trade mark toward art when you're in a field of art like I I don't .
know if you actually can you .
and fusion guo, I mean, look Young. No one knows exactly what they are doing. And I think it's hilarious. And I do want to play with IT. I mean, well, not the thirty five.
but whatever I can.
Yeah, who does anyone else do that?
I don't think .
the third party has yet.
I ww, anyway, aren't.
If you looked close enough, well, by the way, Chris, that wouldn't be a thirty five because is an sc land. So you can put that on your abc camera. IT will treat you as if IT wasn't .
h thank all the gods, every single one of them all, all the ones that exist a second.
The last story of the week, like just recorded, the highest revenue IT has ever made in one hundred years of existence by big .
margin yeah fourteen percent .
higher than last year, which was also a record year for them. So they are doing spectacularly well, although i'm not getting the information of their actual profit. This is just revenue.
But I have to imagine it's fine. There's a company. I don't think that their margins are bad.
So but five hundred and fifty four million eos over last years already. great. Four hundred and eighty five million year old year, so they are doing good. That's meaning and theyve .
always been just so confident .
you are going to talk.
Yeah yeah so I that's a good the last thing i'll say on this and we will get to that. But the ah the main revenue driver this year was the q three. So keep that in mind as we move on to the final thing of the week, A D J I this morning as we're recording announcing new ten gram wireless microphone called the mike mini IT is really tiny. Uh, Jordan has one, but he has an unboxed yet, so i'm sure will hear from him eventually. But this thing is and these might be getting smaller.
Yeah, I think we're going to just check in with regular audio solutions. We're seeing so many of them coming out this time in the year, which to make sense, like they're perfect Christmas gift and already into that Price range as well. But yeah, I like the idea of a smaller one that can still record right on device, but I don't have a ton of info, and i'm going to play with that just going forward.
I think we'll do a check in with the audio solutions. I'm just testing sanha izis latest right now um and we've got some other I got that new road that we were using for some vertical video. So yes, I will have thoughts, but I haven't had a chance to do full reviews on at me of these guys.
My may thought, every time you see these kind of ones, which are designed to be worn like on the lapel or magnet, like right on a shirt, or language or something like that.
them, for the love of god, to people, go.
Yes, I don't know. I don't if you actually could hold this thing without covering all the stuff that you need to not cover, but they typically, I wouldn't say typically I am curious, like is IT in a handle wind is IT in a hand, all, you know, bumping and flapping on a shirt and stuff like that, they are insanely convenient.
But i've often found in the past, with mix like this, they're intently convenient if conditions are perfect, not necessarily where you need to wear like a heavy jacket or you've got a windy, outdoor kind of situation. I mean, all the, all the sample photos are these happy go, lucky creators, and, you know, with Sunny days and and no end and stuff. And I mean, in sure IT .
strate the awful truth of how these microphones are going to be used by creators.
No one wants to think about that. These are designed to be dirt cheap and they integrate with what like, I think they directly integrate with D J. I like cat and it's eighty nine dollars. Like that's why these are gna sell because you'll give you Better audio than not a microphone and their two one a percent ah and .
the connection on those like we've used that with the previous versions of the D J I. And it's it's wonderful just to have .
that flexibilities. It's funny to go from one that has a great connectivity and then you use one that has, like, trash connect vy in a straight side line. And I just had cuts out, yeah, that those days are Normally behind us, but there are still exceptions.
God, have you played with those kind of microphones, like the little ones, like without having blue l mike things or or dead cats or anything like that?
yeah. I mean, as you know, if you see any more videos, I never wear a, sure, I always wear A T shirt. So I never have a appeal to attach love my too.
So they always seem compromise to me. What I used to do with the road wireless, mike, is I would I would put IT here underneath my shirts. So it's like pressing against my my kind of my throat parley also to cover up.
I'd never really liked the way they they looked and they let up and they were kind of a Better, obvious. I could never position the button money is, I could never position them very well on the clothes that I wear. So maybe they should sell them with a shirt with the ideal appeal that's really stiff on one side, you know really well. You make you can .
make camera labs creative shirts designed I know .
you british sterlin .
right british sterlin that's to be negotiated .
yeah you can .
have ten percent of the sterling or ten percent of the dollar is up to you, mate. I think it's the same. Um alright.
so with the news behind us, let's get to the meat of today's yeah, we're gona grade every camera makers twenty twenty four. The way this is gonna go is we're going to do IT in order is going to go gordon, Chris and then Jordan gonna give their grades before they grade. I will remind them of their grades the previous time we did this, which was five or six months ago and will compare where they have gone since. So the first one we're going to do at funny, I went back and listen our podcast, and we were talking about like the r one being announced and now we know more about, yeah so we know everything that cannons got so gordon, you're grade for cannon in the middle of the year was A C minus. Where are they this year for you?
Now the end you want the writing straight away or you want the chat.
I think you can do IT however you want.
I'm going to a do the chat. I'm gna make you wait yet. They had a quiet start to the year.
They were just, they tease the r one, made IT official, and they released the first lens, a first hybrid prime lens, thirty five one point for L V C. M. That was about IT. So I raided the mercy originally. But then the very strong second half, as we expected, because they released the r one, only five, two mutinously in the five two.
I feel, I feel could be one of the more underwater cameras out there right now, because I think so many people enjoyed having a go at canon for the orion last five because they overheated and because IT secured more than we wanted. IT too, although they never said that he wouldn't do that. And I just felt like everyone was really knocking IT and we should definitely hold companies to account. That's what we do all of but there was a certain kind of joy to IT that i've felt on a lot of videos. Yeah it's get canon you know y've messed up in some way and I feel the old five two has resolved a lot of that.
I've already done quite a lot of overheating test with the admittedly, it's not how where I ve especially coming into winter, but so far i've only got IT to overheat when recording A K or 4k one twenty and IT recorded like over our both of them and in any the fork most including the oversample ed 4k fine well over an hour, no problem until basically my cards filled up before overheating became an issue. So IT resolved that they put a stack sensor in a IT. Doesn't skill as much as before, still skill a bit.
They all do, but is Better than IT was before. And then just nobody really said much about IT. I felt that people like you, you know move on to find something else.
And then the a one two came up and i'll talk about that more when we get to SONY. But they come out with a kind of very mild refresh over the eight one, proving that how good a one already was, but still ask six and half grand for IT. And yet the l five two, community four, this is in dollars and IT.
Suddenly I was looking at and thinking and then remembering that it's got the eye control view, find like the one, and think this is actually a very strong proposition. Um I you know see what you guys think but i'm doing actually i'm in the middle of doing, uh kind of real indebt. Look at a final production one.
I had to find the production when in a few weeks ago to test one in the lands i'll talk about now, now. And IT formed really well. The auto focus is really, really good.
IT is detecting stuff very far away, and it's very small on the frame. SONY had to be way bigger. I had both out in the a one at the same time. So the l five, two, they are one.
We had two more hybrid prime lenses, the twenty four in the fifty one point, four, both looking identical to the thirty five one point, for which therefore cement that as Cameron's design IT like IT or not like the fact that is got a clickers smooth capturing. I post ly don't like that. I should have been clickable and d clickable, but that's what they've done.
If now going on three lenses, that's the way it's going to be. I don't think they going to change that. Yes, IT will work for photo on neish bodies, but is horrible using a smooth after ing.
So then they say we'll just use the ring on the end. You know in cann's world, in cans head, they've not had up things since E F. Was released in what the lay eighties so you know kind of uses like bit non plus about IT.
But for us, you know we reveal all the different systems we see. So they doing is sick of doing now food film, I think doing IT and you like, actually that's quite a nice feature to have. So IT annoys me.
They don't have if, but I think kind of people can care less. But IT has sort of cemented that design. So I would maybe expected eighty five in the future. That looks similar. We got a new seventy to two hundred two eight that uh because is a hybrid zone, they don't have a per or a pee on the end of the prime. So that still makes no sense to me.
That resolves the two issues that people had with the original drinking center to two hundred R F lens in that IT IT doesn't doesn't extend IT stays the same length of people who were worried about um you know environmental ceiling should be worry and IT now I think more importantly takes telly converters and it's such a high resolution lens. I found IT work really well with the T C. So a lot of people very happy about that apart from those who bought the first.
That first, when is still a great lend, guys, you know, and it's cheaper and we'll be deals on the, you know, tomorrow. Whatever look out for IT is gonna be great. So then you'd just just keep doing more, more of these V R lenses i've lost out to them. Let's have another one. Let's not actually tell you through the .
Normal channel.
And and then and then there were more, they were more, they kind of these some C, P, plus. They all became realities. And in the second half a year, lesser known, but also the Q X twenty, the related self fei printer, which is got two major upgrades.
First will do borus printing on three of the borders. Obviously one printer d to the paper IT will. Credit card sized prints and square prints.
So it's inventively an instincts mini and an square print at the same time, different forces you to choose. Only one shape can let you have to know their sticky backs on the prince, I think really print to p review that. So i'm A C A T cinema camera, and you know that they had a extremely strong second half.
I was gonna give them an a plus, but i'm gna knock come down to an a or even A B plus for still sani ging, as if that's a word as around over third party for frame. And every time I touch canada, go, no, it's sigma. Don't want to do. And every time I was sigma, they go, 不。
不, they actually blame cinema. I want to make this clear how insane that is.
They look at me as if no, either either they look at me as if the problem lies elsewhere.
which is that is an absolute lie. They're lying to your face.
Well.
what can I say?
I'm you know, i'm when i'm intervening, them were talking to them. I'm saying, look, when I taught to the third party companies, they seem keen to make lenses for you, but they but then they kind of climb up. I don't know this if there's some sort .
of hidden micro unfilial. They don't hidden anyone they they want to beyond the good Graces. So these third party company is so that they .
are being very pectore and and going to a well. But really, honestly, guys sort IT out because when we look at the fifty one point four L V C M nice lens, but fifty hundred dollar or pound lens, and then the next one down from that is like the the fifty, fifty, a couple of hundred. We need something in the middle of phony.
There was a really nice eight hundred dollar or so, fifty eight, one point four. Friend, yes, there is. Sigma ker.
let us have IT on IT.
I think people want to spend fifty hundred. great. It'll get the canon one. And IT has you know only come smooth after being Young.
You will take care of us. Don't worry about IT.
It's it's in the cards. Yes, exactly yes yeah so so yeah I would say a very high rating for Cameron mod only by the fight that you can still only mostly get for full frame because we coming onto sigma for full frame. We we need we need some third party lenses with they have that official are allowed yeah thank you.
Very .
comprehensive, gordon. Thank you. I mean, thank you all all I would have, I think last year I gave them a bee and and I think you would stay about there.
I feel like i've become a canon apologist in the second half of this year. And part of IT is because the r five mark two, which is he talked about a Better camera and and I wish you got more. I don't think he's getting the fan fare either, I agree.
But you know on the minus the third party self, which you covered for sure, I was like maybe i'll go be minus this year because the third party and the r one is a good camera, but it's it's expensive you know ever is given SONY one a hard time. But like the canada one is basically the same Price and it's so specialized. But at the same time, I was like, well, maybe I want to be plus because they haven't coming with lots of glass, which is always positive.
Maybe not the glass we all want, but it's good to see that. And the sensor technology has gotten Better. And that is something that I gave a hard time for in our last talk is that know their sensor attack is seems always behind and slow.
And in this year like that are one year five mart, it's their good sensors. It's really nice to see good quality sensors, fast scanning sensors and and at the same time to the r one as much as as a specialist camera. IT is a fantastic camera.
Like IT is a great camera. IT handles beautifully. I love the body design that might be my favorite body design of all the flagship cameras right now. Um the focusing is very quick. Canada, i've done a huge job improving the lot of focus very effectively.
And the the only detraction I would say is um I mean they make a pixel is not tracked for what it's made for its perfect and IT does leave the door open for maybe a higher makeup XO version. The only attraction which I found quite strange was the eye control out of focus worked so well for me on the r three and IT doesn't work well for me in the r one of the r five mark two. And that's weird because they specifically updated IT to work Better.
That works worse. So that's really disconcerting. Plus a fact that this still seems random based on, I don't know your genetics or who knows, I have no idea whether they ve worked for.
You're not. So nobody know, nobody knows canada, nobody knows. But anyway, you covered a lot.
So i'm going to stick again with a bee. I was gonna be plus. Then I go b minus.
And I like all the gulf camera that I would make IT an a plus on the way I don't golf. So forget that. So be.
I was pretty hard on them. Last time I went with A C minus. And you know that I was very impressed by the r five two.
And honestly, I should be over the moon because basically every release except the r one was extremely video centric this year and the r one still a capable video camera. But yeah, looking at the r five two, basically all of their glass is optimized for video. But I really think they need to start putting some emphasis back on steals at the same time.
I know they're trying to flesh that line up, but just like gordon says, we need to get stuff. I think that's got a yeah for all of you. Photographer is out there.
I'm in your court um and I do think as well I have to do them because they are one you know as the flagship camera, the definition of flagship has shifted since the a one came out. IT is a top of the line camera that can do everything and the closest thing they have is the r five two, to be honest, right now. So yeah, I was quite disappointed when the r one was initially announced, even though, you know, Chris had a great time shooting sports with that.
But just weird omissions like that classic can think like wire, their wave forms on the r five two but not the r one. What's going on with that? Trying to poll hot shoe cover off for several minutes just because we're d frustrated things like that.
So i'm giving him a bomb. They're going from A C minus to A B minus. Um and again, I am very frustrated with the third party lend thing as well.
Well yeah one hundred know what actually they fixed their hot shoes so that's why I am on that IT actually .
comes off I had the experience of trying to remove IT on the precedence which was both frustrated and IT Frankly embarrassed you to all of my peers. Yeah.
everybody is like, what's wrong with you and I know and then rudy, if entry is like, oh, this isn't coming off I like, yeah, rudy is not .
oh yeah wait, no, I forgot about rudy. D minus skin .
and so for what it's worth, actually I I was told this I haven't seen anything officially announced, but I know it's true rudy was uh as to come back on a count like a consultation contracting basis so he is once again working with cannon. So I think they at least admitted that that was a mistake, at least to some degree, before we move on to a food.
Given what I want to say about canada is I think a lot of their problems, and it's been there this way for several years now, are of their own making. They the way that they released their products and the way the way that they released their products, a makes IT harder for them. Why released the r five two in the r one together? That made no sense.
Because the r one, I know they knew that was gonna disappointing solution, but yeah, I really made IT hard to focus on how good they are. Five mark two is because the r one was disappointing. And it's like the r three should never have been the r three.
You should have just made that. The r one, like I know you are planning on doing IT that way. So it's just like you've done in in the the lens situation, the whole you can use that apache ure ring and photo motionless, you have an r one or in r five mark two, otherwise IT doesn't work is insane.
Like some of these choices they make don't make any sense from like a human standpoint and it's just very frustrating. Then they have to continue to talk about canada and also have these things lingering in the back your mind um so yeah I like if you try and get rid of all of that and just look at these things objectively as they are. It's easier to be happy with canon.
It's just that as a company, they are frustrating. Uh, alright, fug film, gordon, you were very pleased with fuji film at the point of year. Has anything changed?
Yes, they had a super strong star. Mean next one hundred six G F X, one hundred two x um insects, right? Four hundred.
The lee play, which I didn't mention last time, also came at that time for many ninety nine. One of the nice, so you could ask for a stronger star. I think there was a new blends as well.
Second half, not so much. I counted two products. Well.
got a camera. We've got a .
many link three, which is the latest version of the insects mini printer, which strAngely, the mini linked to had a little light that you could light paint with, which I only ever did IT their launch event. And IT was great for, but I didn't use like, but they've taken IT off the many link three. So if you want to do the light painting, look for a great holiday deal on the meeting.
Link to the X M. five. Was that kind of major camera launch changest? For people like me, it's a video blogger, content creator, targeted camera, which for me means, number one, i'm looking for killer auto focus.
Number two, i'm looking for killing stabilization and number three, i'm looking for something that's gonna A D J pocket. I'm not sure IT necessarily does that. Um i've only tested a preproduction so i've not given the A F and the stabilization throw a workout unless they have improved IT from previous versions.
It's not their strong point. Hopefully I has hopefully wrong. Hopefully I tested and it'll be great for me. I just think cameras like that and also the SONY devi tend to which will come to that.
Just kind of I feel that D J, I now is solve this problem, you know, and these are the cameras. I don't know who's using them. I don't know, rather, I don't know who would use them instead of something like in us, my pocket.
I know that I I know log is come to creators that, you know, that's the growth market. I'll see one very positive thing, the exam, five, four, because IT was also, I think, that most affordable x series camera. H, A lot of people, oh, hasn't got you find a, oh, I hawsted got a eye like, yes, but it's their their cheapest sex.
Serious camera, at least in the current lineup. IT is very affordable for a future film camera. But he's the thing that actually looks really nice, especially from the top, is got the symmetrical dials, I think is a great looking camera.
A lot of people look to IT and went, oh, you know, I no longer need to wait for my x one hundred the other three, six, six, six, whatever. Which other number you're trying to get you six or you be from light three years ago? Yeah, still don't get IT.
I'll get this instead. Put a pancake on IT. And no, no, it's not it's not got you find it's not meant to be that. But IT is nice and announced as the effects that in my camera, didn't they book really they launched IT in really weird where I didn't really specially hear about IT that I only really came across the throughout things sydney's video about IT.
Um so I would say the kind of a disappointing second half, which makes me have high expectations for next year because we still don't have an next pro right, which makes me think they'll skip this current sensor in process. A generation x pro will probably launch. I'm just guessing here, you know the next big sensor uh upgrade. Um I think this gonna some interesting things um next year but for the second half this year, I mean, what did I give in german?
You give them an a. So what you still have to do is you not grading just the second half, you're grading the entirety of twenty, twenty four.
Well, I say still super strong then, because they had such a strong first half, I think I D have to give me be plus. Maybe even, maybe even like an eight minus was so strong. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They can feel you .
feel sorted again, very good. So i'm going to go with A B minus. I'll give my grey right off the start. And I think I gave them A B minus last year around or maybe a bee.
So and I think it's mostly because what i've seen released as a photographer doesn't seem to be gathering to me. You made really good points about the G, I pocket three and the X, M. five.
For me, the biggest thing, I mean, I boss, yeah, but nobody has. I was at that Price point in an aps. C camera doesn't exist.
So what I was really missing on, I was an evia. And I think, like, if the pocket is gonna destroy, just kill them, are like, take over and just win. What we would really want that is a camera that can be that hybrid.
Pocket three is not a photo taker, you know what I mean? And so the X M five is so sexy, I actually found the controls to be really nice for such an affordable camera. And if I had an E V F, that would have made IT this like wonderful little walk around camera for me, and I could see the benefit of having that in a great, have good video as well, charged me another hundred fifty box.
I don't care. Like I think IT would have been good to have that. So that was disappointing.
I do want to say i'll leave video out of focus for Jordan, but the I think fuji film gets a bad wrap when IT comes to auto folks in general there still aut of focus isn't bad. It's not world class. But at this Price point, it's great for photography.
So again, why the evs missing means i'm not going really use this camera. And Frankly, i'm getting older. I need, I need an evs.
The new five hundred miles great. You know, the sixty fifty five great at me were the preprint that we tested. But you can tell when the lens is stolen, be good.
And so I think those are great positive moves you know to have um i'm kind of upset that we didn't get in advanced in stacks wide. A the four hundred was was fine, but it's I don't care what they say. It's it's not hard to make you know I mean, like these aren't advanced cameras that the guts are the same.
It's not hard to make. So why didn't we get the L, D. Lights in there, which was so called on the nineteen ninety nine? Why don't we have a version which has the bells and whistles? IT can't be that hard to do.
Still no expro for that's why I I never love that platform, but I know a lot of people did. So I think food g film did a good job. It's it's been a good year for them. But that that last half for me persons was kind of like, man, there's not much in there. Um so yeah B B mine is sung and sticker around .
that ay i'm going I had A B plus before and my two complaints where we really need to get some x series glass going again, which they did partially address the new sixteen to fifty five years. Very, very light like shockingly, I thought IT may have been a four or a toy when I first picked IT up. But yet the performance on IT was actually quite nice.
But really that was in and then my other concern was just a general lack of R N D. IT seemed like they were just trickling a lot of stuff down. We hadn't seen much new.
really. The only thing I can think of is the ebbs mechanism on the x one hundred six. That is probably something developed from scratch.
Look at the exam five as well. It's just features from higher models being brought down. Even that five hundred millimeter lands is just a gf lens that already exists. They slapped the next mount on the back of IT.
Um so i'm really hoping to see new stuff and then the gfx eterna announcement further unlike it's the same sensor as the g affects one hundred two which we said like that sensors too slow purchase ting video IT either has to do some binning, skipping or cropping in order to deliver high resolution footage. So exact same thing again. That would have been the perfect platform to be like, look, we've got a fifty mega pixel medium format sensor that can scan the whole thing or something like that, but they haven't done that.
So i'm a little concerned on that front. I want to see some new developments from pug film in twenty twenty five. So i'm keeping their great the same b plus for me.
So i'm looking a sort of an explanation of why you're not necessarily getting what you want, Jordan. Um and that's the numbers uh index. They don't have to make anything new, Chris. They don't have to give you anything that you want because IT makes up sixty one point three percent of their entire Operating income for that segment.
That's why you should.
And so they reached a record high revenue this last quarter, nine point one percent over the previous one. And also specifically and just their digital, that went up seventeen percent too, even though that makes up a fraction of what institutions does. That's also more popular.
And that's probably because the x one hundred six, they sell them as soon as they make them. yeah. And I think what fug film strategy will probably be is to make a camera like that every year. They will have something that will be very popular that they literally cannot produce enough of, and they will sell that out for one to two years. No problem.
So I don't think we'll see the x one hundred six on shelves ready to purchase because on a wim, even all of next year, I still think they will sell them as soon as they arrive every single time. And I think we will get something next year that will do the exact same thing, and those will haven't overnight. And food, you will continue to be an extremely successful company because of IT. yes. Well.
I just wanted to add one more thing, which is what I really like to see from future film under the camera companies are some high quality small lenses. Just start doing those again. I mean, he's been age since we have those X, F, F, two and two point eight lenses from food to film.
The thirty five was really nice. Zed, the twenty three was not. Uh, which is a shame because is the twenty three you need, if you want to, to try and replicate your own interchangeable lens version of the next one hundred.
Just stop date those lenses already. I love the one point force that great quality, you know, that people sell favorite ge from length. I think the twenty three, one point four I am is and there there about ts, but they are too big.
I don't want to put that on the next fifty or or an x and five. I want to put the little lens on there, but I don't want to compromise the quality. I'm happy to compromise the appeal.
I don't care. It's two, maybe even two point eight. I just want to to be top quality and small, and I want that for all the companies. I want common SONY everybody, but especially future film.
I don't think I won't complain about an f two point eight as a guy has been shooting on like four hundred speed film at its fastest and two point, it's also my fastest mature. I would be perfectly happy being able to go to sixteen hundred and two eight. That would be just fined by me, right?
Moving until like a gordon, you do not review like a so you may abstain which but oh, you do that. Yes, you do. so.
Okay, yeah. okay. To give you that on IT.
I reviewed to q three forty three, and I went in, very skeptical, very skeptical, if you know anything about me, especially not the previous podcast to mention, that I feel that some of its a little bit snake oly. You know, this can IT really justify the Prices and the adoration that you get.
For me always, I always perceived IT is a luxury product and that the, you know, you spend a lot for, maybe not you spend a lot of the exclusivity, right? And maybe, you know, getting that much more or even as more chase, you know, another product that cost a fiction amount. So I got the two, three, forty three in with my sketch hat ARM. And I absolutely loved IT.
and he loved that. I was amazing.
Two, three, two, three, two, three. He is the thing. There is nothing magical about IT or mystic, and there is nothing that you can do is that I don't think you could match quality would say, say, thirty seven or five with one of their G M S.
Delena, right? You want that kind of level of quality in resolution detail. You can get IT and with rendering, as well as magical about IT.
However, the magical part is that they've squealed that into quite a small portable device, and it's just really nice to use. And one of the revolutions I had was actually how much I love forty three millimeter. I know Chris hates me for this, but I actually like thirty five million me .
to cover your smart.
I've got very used to. I do. I've got twenty two on the one hundred series and I thought forty people gonna too long.
It's game too long. But you know what? It's not. It's just right. It's IT actually widely feels long enough, but wide enough that doesn't feel compromised in any way and leading until I said a men to go about small, high quality but not necessary, super bright lenses that forty three minutes sect two is that was in to that lens is completely what i'm talking about.
Make some of them so need make a lens like that can and make a lens like that beauty film during A P S C version of a lens like that because it's super high quality, is relatively smaller, light relatively. But IT doesn't need to be giant because it's it's not at one point four, we don't all need every one point for. You know, it's not just that, that I I just really like IT.
And and the final thing i'll say about the two final thing i'll say about that one is that when I picked IT up, I was hoping to be blown away by the bill quality right and I wasn't I thought um I thought I am not getting the the feels from IT. I'm not getting I thought okay. And then I shot with IT for about a week and then I picked us other comments as I, oh my god, these are terrible, very terrible.
Maybe there is something that I didn't feel good way to stuff with. What you make anything else feel bad. If you know what I mean, the second thing I say about IT, and this is the shocker, because would I buy one as an next one hundred donor? Of course not. Because it's bigger. Heavy is way too expensive for me.
But in all the comments on the review that I made of IT were people who had oris in on the x one hundred six off council maxes one hundred six order for like a beautiful to three got ship the next day with i'm very happy and I was think that's great that you ve got IT as fast as you wanted. But will you not talking to that is three times more expensive. I don't like no.
And that made me realize that there's a lot of people who just want a high quality small camera, and they would choose in the x one hundred because I was the best high quality small kind. They could not care less for those two grand four ground or six grand. They just wanted the best more. And now the like, A Q three gives them what they want.
But you for you can actually just buy it's weird the twenty eight millimeter one the q original is backwater, but you forty .
three right now so you could get IT. I'd mentioned to Sonia, you know when we saw them the other week um there were a couple of R X one s floating around people who still owned them what a fantastic camera. Still they absolutely smashed IT years ago. Make IT that's funny going .
you say that because it's hilarious because we we were in just in new york city with tony and like all of the all of the staff and executives that they all have this arts so obviously your own people are like, this is the camera I would Carry everywhere. It's like, what hell are available? It's so minded by with, anyway, one question.
one question for all of you, right? And I know it's nothing to do with what we should be talked about about. Just want to briefly put a poll out there if you were to update the R X one r and put any of those current senses in IT, IT could be an a one, two could be an a 7, five or a whatever. Which sensor would you put in IT, which is most appropriate?
And sixty, because it's got a leaf shutter.
Yeah, I mean, that does have a belief shot. I don't know. I was one censoring. Get rid of this, the shutter together. 嗯嗯。
嗯嗯 okay.
back to like her.
yeah. So if you could give them a grade just on that one cat when you give well.
it's like what Chris was exactly listen to the a previous podcast just for coming onto this one and and he was like, IT doesn't matter because you're like her and you do your own thing and what I do can I can I give it's only one product in a year. Yeah, that scene can I give .
them a part of the?
Yeah, I would give I give him an a for that product, but whether I can grade the company as a name based on one thing. But they did one thing that I saw, they did IT really well.
Yeah yeah. So first off, I can attest to gordon skepticism, and I think that's a great way to go to. I mean, it's been fifteen years. He still doesn't warmed up to me. I don't know when that's gna happen, but um everybody who touches the q three which is by the way, a testament to how terrible three five millimeter lens is, I love that they skipped that entire range with their two cameras and one of my favor, it's incredible there's yeah there's there's a magic there's a magic to their cameras that everybody seems to latch onto.
I mean, almost without exception, everybody who goes into IT knowing that it's in practical and the Prices crazy just end up a doring the camera and I mean, enjoy maybe I was more tempered because I had I D already played with the q three, the original twenty eight mill and and I personally I kind of want the twenty eight still just because I feel like the wider is a bit more flexible. But yeah it's it's amazing and so good for them. They don't care.
Ah the deluxe came out earlier in the year, right? And and that's kind of a funny one because like is IT doing well, i've completely forgotten about IT. I haven't thought about IT once and and that's kind of maybe telling I mean, I should be doing well.
I don't know if anybody even knows that exist anymore, but it's great that you've had their biggest profits of all time. Again, they don't care what happens in the market. They really don't.
And that's kind of their charm and that's kind of the beauty of IT. But yeah and the so three, right, we talked about that earlier in july still doesn't well, me. So I mean, I would give him like A C minus because know as if we're going by honest grading on this.
They don't do much. A third of their camera business is, I don't think, very practical. Another third, I feel like people have forgotten, but the m series in the q three or just, uh, just they're so desirable and they love him. So yeah, yeah.
I went with a sea last time because .
I do find the sl three probably the least compelling of their offerings because IT isn't a totally unique shooting experience the way there other products are. And as expected, we saw the M E D. I was really thinking they would add a humor of those classic models there, which is just the same camera without a screen on IT.
Hum, hum, hum. But I was very surprised to see the q three forty three with a brand new optical formula. You've ta remember they've been using that twenty eight one seven now for like eight years I think yeah just q came out so seeing a new object and when Chris sent me the charts from that thing, it's like, good.
This is an optically almost perfect lens. It's staggeringly good that one so yeah, seeing that was really surprising. And I love the key line so I am gonna bump them tcc times sea little .
bit to will .
be minus very nice. Um alright, we have so many more to go, and we are burning through time. So let's as we can through some of these other ones. This one's easy icon. Gordon, you are abstaining from icons.
Don't I read ted forbes new book? Instead.
we will get back to that.
H sorry.
will get back to that.
But before we get .
to take for this book, a so icon, Chris Jordan criss, you A B plus, give them. Now I still give A B plus.
I mean, the that six, three is going strong. I don't know that. I mean, I don't know sales are going strong, but the cameras good, right? Like I still like IT.
We've played with that. I think it's a good option for people got to play with the new fifty meal. I don't care about the thirty five, but the fifty million point four came out.
And now with something we were kind of watering about in july and they released IT. And it's good. It's a nice affordable fast lens asic.
And then I mean, the biggest complaint that people had as they digne absa, they don't care about absa and IT, turns out I guess they kind of do because they also came out with this ed fifty two this year. And again, I I liked IT. IT was a very capable camera, nice to play with, great autofocus.
Nikon auto focus has been really improved now after a long form updates from early on. A IT is the same old sensor, and that is my biggest knock against them. And I don't care what people like.
Yeah, all sensors take good photos and take great fotos in that fifty two. But I would have like to see them improve. But everything else is really nice.
I mean, nice display, nice handling. Um so I feel like I feel like we've done a good job. And they kind of released stuff that we were asking for in the second part, the year.
That's pretty rare for these companies because other people have kind of ignorant. We ve asked him to do the main knock that I have against nike and are really knocked. I mean, they obviously have to work on this, but the that nine needs to be updated. The nine needs be updated and and I don't I didn't expect them to do that this year, but they're gg onna have to do IT very soon next year. I think I mean, I think that that's something old.
What can they possibly this is a totally separate discussion, I guess, at a certain point. But I kind of want you to .
think to yourself.
what can they do to the z nine? No, it's easy. More, I fine.
It's easy. The sensors great. It's fine. It's great. Ah, what they need to do is improve the purpose. Al, so much Better display, maybe make the camera body a little bit smaller I think would be nice, although some people might disagree with me on that.
Um but improved the screen, improved the the event, you know maybe enhance the processing power, may be a little bit faster buffer speed and stuff like that, but differentiate from the ed eight if if you came about the new sense are great. I don't know if it's going to happen. I don't think if they need to especially is really talk about SONY. There's not like a desperate need to really improve the sense or much. But no, it's it's got to be a version too, you know it's got to be a version to put Better ibis in IT all edc stuff.
Jordan.
yeah, I gave them an a based on a very strong first half of the year. Love said six, three. It's still kind of my pic as a hybrid camera in that Price train trade now.
And I was surprised that they brought out something apc I really thought we would see as had five update. I think that would be a much more popular one for them while they are on a role right now. And the said fifty two is a actually surprisingly competent and camera, especially a really good hybrid model.
But I want more from them if if they're going to be releasing uh, for current aps c models, I would like to see more than I believe for current abc lens s and yes, signal tim are picking up some slack there, but I want to see more from on them. But just based on the start of the year, i'm going to keep them at na. They did very well.
And those red lots are wonderful. If you have an icon camera that shoots in log, never use the official micon lot ever again. use. Those are beautiful ones we just need to get and built into the cameras now. So firm more up twenty twenty five.
I think next year might be a very big year for them.
Yeah ah okay, I really like what nics doing. I am not greeting at this point, but i'm just like saying a icon right now is probably my favorite of the manufacturer, just like what their strategy is, how they are doing stuff. Uh, I will say that they announced these new archest filters that are gold that will screw on to any of their z lenses, and they make the zy lens s look so much Better.
So i'm looking in dead into the windows of your soul icon. You need to use that gold more often. I know you're doing IT on that power zoom lens, but do IT everywhere and the rest of the land forever.
Please put that gold on there. That little silver asis just not cut IT give me the gold. I love gold, right? More on this one should be quick because there is basically nothing to say. system. Yeah.
gordon.
well, they have the only one mark two in the first half and they in the second half, did they make anything?
Bring up the data I have.
I was not to look for lenses and I couldn't I couldn't see any. So I don't think there's a great deal to talk about. No cheese.
I we have not covered own system in the title of an article since july sixteen th, and that was for their heat and serve .
japanese curry packets. I haven't reviewed oh, I I got we missed .
an opportunity because they can't shift these tests because of like food regulation. So we had to get them in japan and we've forgot. So we need to go back and get the hurry, right?
We were there. We forgot.
Yeah, we forgot. So yeah, this year was essentially the one fifty to six hundred five to six point three the O M one mark too.
ah.
More the nine, eighteen, f four to five, six, two, those are the three things they .
announced this year early. Yes, yes, nothing, nothing new. And that sucks. And that stuff. So I gave him A D because, like, look with how many times can the industry say, like, you need to release some cameras, you need to do something new.
And yeah, you know, like that whale that died, which was olympus in my last talk, right? And they were kind of living off the whale fall and making up that whales now just bones and there's nothing left eating IT. And pretty soon the deep t explores going to move its cameras off something or so they've got ta get some like bioluminescent jellyfish appearing on camera.
They're tt a get some like anger fish out there, you know like some sort of light show in the deep sea because otherwise people are just going to forget that that they even exist there. So I know that's harsh, and I I think they need IT and I think they know IT and I think everybody knows IT. And again, olympus was the dead car .
is not on own system, to be clear that this use the tough cameras to photograph .
that causes you right.
But twenty, twenty think .
you know what? The product that everyone loved from olympus back .
in the day was the pan F.
Yeah.
yeah. I do think that we will. We will.
There is basically no choice for the company. They must do something cool. Only if there .
was one company that can't be doing this, its om system. So I sure hope that another dead whale comes down in life, is reborn on the side. I have no idea.
Can we have a second metaphor .
for next year? Ah, well.
we creating .
Christi's metaphors that .
will be at .
the end was jellyfish.
That's my said. My system needs to break out a bioethics and jellyfish fireworker Jordan .
d of anything dad to this.
Yeah, I gave him A D plus dropping IT to A D because I was really hoping to see an update, especially on the em ten, for yeah would be a great place to launch like a small, small prime and a new camera body there. And we didn't see anything. But I also forgot about the curry so reading pending until I try the kerry.
Uh, all right. Next one is rico pantai, which gordon you also do not review. But they actually had a surprisingly good ted for this books back, had a surprising year. So Chris, you gave them me, see, plus at the midway point, what do you give pan tax? We can know.
I guess. So I initially put on here a sea minus maybe a sea, because, I mean, again, there another company that had a good start at the start, and that's great. They haven't released anything really since then.
I mean, the gr three hd f is a nice camera. And IT is again that kind of situation where they can make enough of them, they sell out. I mean, I enjoyed using IT.
I think there is actually some merit to that division filter as a kind of creative alternate to having an nd filter. I probably personally would still want the nd filter version. But look, you're selling every camera.
You make that great and it's a sexy Cameron. It's px seventeen I think is doing well. That still awesome um but still no new s lars. So because we haven't seen any news on a new sla and IT really has to be like a new solar, not a new virgin like it's gotta be something cool. And I know we talked a lot about like retro inspired.
I think that still be a good move, but it's kind of like om system where you're like, look, we've been talking about this for a while. We got to do IT like sums gotto happen here. So see minus just because, you know, again, they're kind of letting that excitement go, but they had a good start to the year and they're they're doing good stuff.
Yeah I think I oversold um the success of the pen tex seventeen because we recorded right after that was announced and they were immediately sold out everywhere sense then they are now a product that is in stock that you can pick up. They made has slowed down.
I gave them A B plus last time because I was like, look, if this turns into a huge x one hundred six kind of thing that's going to fund the camera development a little bit more seeing as it's a successful product but not a colossal hit. I'm moving IT down to A B minus with the hopes again that the success of the gr and at the pentax seventeen mean, we're going to get something cool from them in twenty twenty five. Yeah, take one three for the love of god.
But it's to be like new. It's a it's can just be like a new verse going to be like updated tech for sure.
right? The last three, this one, this one mean they have been on string of good years. But here we go. Sigma, gordon, you gave them in a at the half way point, and they didn't .
slow down.
I skip panasonic.
I didn't.
Oh, right, that's my bed. Well, then fine, will skip sigma for now.
Sorry about that. Panasonic, so in the first half, we had a one hundred mile amount micro right in the new year to qualities we had the s nine body and the twenty six milk manual focus pancake and the g eight seven. And the second half, not a law.
We got the looming access eighteen to forty, which is the lengths that should have come out with the s nine. So either IT should have come out in the first half of the s nine, should have come out in the second half. We may never know the reason why they didn't come out at the same time, but they didn't.
And I think that really harm them. It's a fine lens, is for small lens, is the lens that finally, I think, was IT your somehow that said, that finally makes sense. Now the s nine put that true, what you need to know.
So that's good, but that should have been the first off this year. That also doesn't get them off the hook that there isn't a good old man pancake prime lens. And the fact that can and nickle and everyone else is proved that you can make a twenty eight meal, f two point eight, with auto focus, that's only a bit heavy and more expensive.
Just going, do IT, you know, just do that. We would love to see that. So the fact you've got this twenty six F A that doesn't get you off the home, we need to another one of them with a brighter up in order to focus, you know just do that.
Be nice as IT stands. So not a lot in the second half. I mean, they refreshed interestingly, one of their sixty times super sums, the f said at d, we call IT the eighty two d in the europe.
They gave IT excited. Better quality, if you find during screen and U S, B, C. But others SE. IT was the same thing. This, I think, came out in around two thousand and seventeen originally.
So is quite interesting, quite bizarrely, you need to see something refreshing, a like a bridge camera from that era. And I don't know, you know, they testing the water because panasonic had some really nice super zone cameras, pocket one's big ones, everything in between. I'm here for IT bringing back I want to see more categories. But based on what they've done now for the whole year, I think some of us will maybe hoping we'd see you know a new a version of the the s one series. I think next year, hopefully will be strong for them, but this year, middling, I would say, you know, they have got some fine products, but to actually ended up being quite quiet year, unless I see, I think so solid middle.
Ca, yeah, I reckon.
right. Unless i've missed something, I forgot them. anything. You've forgot them all together. Jarred.
and that was that exciting? Yeah, sorry, I was Chris body got and you know.
yeah, so interesting. Both you in Jordan gave him, gave me be a minus last year, and I gave him a sea plus. And and you know, I I was doing my research and I was looking at and my phone right now says panasonic sea minus and and you know what, I was doing some soul searching.
I'm like, I think i'm starting to take IT a little bit personally and and I think I mean, I swear I honestly and and I think I think that's not right on my part, like they did have a very good year and they did make some really good products. And I do take IT personally that I feel I said this last time like photographers, I feel being ignored by them and I still feel that way. But at the same time, it's like, you know, other companies are allowed to a market to who they feel feel their market chairs.
I think I been a little bit not being harsh, but i'm taking a personally and I shouldn't as a review, I shouldn't take IT to personally. The thousand and forty is a nice move. IT still doesn't make the s nine that enjoyable for me.
I would like to see like an advanced s nine that has an EV f and and I think that could actually be really cool. I would really find that to be quite useful in, but I don't expect to do that this year that I can't criticize them for that. Yes, I did just come out.
So yeah, i'm gonna go to be minus, which is kind of funny. I'm actually raised my grade up because they have had a good year as a company. They've released a lot of products.
They've address some of the issues that they had with one of the early releases, the s nine bridge camera. I mean, okay, I don't care, but somebody that gordon does so that's good. Um but yeah I I feel like they're still ignoring photographers, but I shouldn't take that as personally as I do.
I went b minus last time because I adore the G H seven every chance like I was using flagship cameras. We did review of the r one, the a one two and those are excEllent hybrid cameras. But I was still just like so nice to get my hands back on the g seven.
And it's perfect handling and its lovely malual files that come out of IT. But IT has been a disappointing back half in the eighteen to four. You know, i'm always like give me more ultrawise to standard zoos that should be something i'm all over. But the variable, quite slow, appeared is not that exciting to me. So i'm moving him from A B minus to A C plus and really expecting I think this is due die with the series this year to get an s one to s one r two s two r whatever they want to call IT could be a very exciting year for them. But yeah, back half has definitely been slow.
kept we reversed on that. interesting.
Uh, okay, now we can do signa. And I actually take back what I said. They had a great first half, but the second half was also quiet.
Uh, we didn't see a bunch. You got anything you want to say about this, gordon. What do you give them? Give them in a last time.
Yeah, I mean, they had a tremendous first star. Twenty four seven, two, eight, which was great. Twenty eight to forty five, one point eight, which was great.
Fifty one, two, which was great. Five, six, which great. Fifteen fish I, which I didn't review, but IT could be great. R, F, fifteen to fifty two point eight, not a new lens, but is for the R F, man. So that's great. Yeah a plus first half, second half, actually a few things, twenty eight to one or five, two point eight, quite nice, nice to have. And um in my hands right now well formed the ara time yet to forces book ten are waiting for the check.
Ten feeing everything.
but I know, but you know, got to got to live right a to eighteen two point eight in the arf mount again, old lansa the arf mount and the four D C D N prime landes. I'm not sure all four of them available. They sent me two of them, which I just finishing my review of right now.
By the time you watch this, hope in my review will be the so check IT out that is of the fifty six one point four and the thirty one point four, not new lenses, but new to the canon E S R R A P. So they are not allowed all there. They haven't hadn't occurred to the maybe to do full frame lenses.
They like, he said something people want. Oh, I didn't go to us. I don't know. Maybe that's the reason, but did to .
that people believe that people believe on the on here, they think about IT.
We don't want to do we don't need the money or the way. So we're to avoid that platform, but we are going to do our A P S C mirrors lenses, all six of them and the brilliant. So thank you very much.
And that actually means that if we are counting the ten to eighteen in the four primes and the twenty eight, twenty and five, that's still five six lenses in the second half. Sigma a plus for this year. Yeah kitchen yeah.
i'm going to agree with gordon. Yeah I mean, look, if they could release the arf month tomorrow, they would they probably have them built. And they are just like as soon as they say is a bloom, there are going to ond the market.
And so great lens is I think this is really the year where they cemented their their reputation as a you know first party manufacturer. None of this value brand anymore. That's all that's long dead now and and that's good.
And so yeah, lots new lenses, lots of great lenses. They're kind of not doing any wrong right now. There's been no real controversies with their products like it's it's fantastic. So good for them, a plus on a percent. So no new camera.
Yeah, I went in minus because of that. I'm not expecting a new phobia on camera theyve been updating us on that but thinking we might see something else from them. But that hasn't been the case.
But the twenty eight, one or five. Now i'm not sure if i'm looking back at IT with rose color glasses because was the last lens I used. I was shooting a wedding with that lens when I buggered up my ankle.
So this was my last memory pre bugged up ankle was using and loving that magical lens. But yes, I they've just absolutely killed IT. I'm moving them from an a minus to a straight a based on the goodness of that optic. You know what we will see? Maybe we do just have to wait for popo on.
I think they don't make a camera. I'm fine with IT because you've never made one that I really enjoyed since the moral series. And even then, I didn't enjoy IT, but IT IT was usable. So we got two more .
we can bank through these. This was probably take the longest actually. What do we end on this? On Sunny, let's go to Cameron first just to get that always.
I don't feel rushed on SONY. So gordon is going to take the book backup because he does not review Cameron lenses. He's got a guy who puts his reviews on camera labs, makes you you go check those out.
Love how the focus is going to the book. That's a smart camera. So with that in mind, camera, what did you grade? You did not give tam on a grade last point. You have a lot to say, but you didn't .
put a letter on IT. So sorry, I to give up like A B um obviously they are not going to have the same successor. Not okay, not going to take that back.
There's no reason they shouldn't have the same cash are success as sigma, but they obviously don't and that's fine. Like signals really taken off. I would love to see Cameron do the same thing, but that doesn't mean they're not making fantastic optics.
They are. I always like their glass. The ninety mail macro, of course, was awesome.
I really enjoyed shooting that. And that was A A great way to end the year. Very strong finish. And of course, hearing the news now that new primes aren't going away that that still focus on them. great.
Uh the twenty to three hundred I actually I really enjoyed as a super zoom, and I shot that in the worst situation possible for a super zum like that's a travel lens that you know take one lens and go and shoot stuff lens. And I used IT at night to shoot concert photography, right where where the slow approach should holds you back to stuff. But you know what, I love the shots.
I did a great job. Um I I think it's it's nice to see that market come back. I feel like there is a good market for the resumes and and they were really big in the dsl r days and and the film mesler days.
And so it's nice to see now that they're turning on mirrors. Panasonic did something and IT was and the tavern there's is really good. So I was happy to see that.
I hope IT comes at a mount. So I want to see Cameron do Better. I only want great things for Cameron in the future.
And we all, I think, already talked about make some of those interesting one point eight primes like there's a market for IT affordable primes. They always make light weight lenses. I appreciate that they always match for filter size and stuff like you've got there a good company.
Yeah, I went us e minus last time because the first two lengths were more, I would say, very consumer centric to twenty eight to three hundred. And the fifty to three hundred are quite slow, but nice and compact. But yeah, that ninety again, Chris sent me the chart and it's just like, hot damn, this thing is straight fire as the kids say.
So i'm moving up from a sea minus to A C plus. But i'd really i'd just keep thinking back to that thirty five to one fifty and being like, where's that camera I want that time everybody loves. IT.
yeah. okay.
Final stop. SONY fresh in your minds because we were just in new york.
So bordon, we were just there.
Yes, gordon, at the midway point of the year, you gave SONY A C plus. Now the year has ended with a flagship camera dropping in the year this month to drop a flagship camera. What your thoughts? So we started .
the first half of the eight, nine, three. I've got sixteen to twenty five, twenty four to fifty two, p and eight. Second half, we did get a mildly update, is said we eaten to which and a and a refresh sixteen to fifty kid zoom.
We had an eighty five one point four G M two which is very nice, but most importantly we turned about the a one two and twenty seventeen F I was interested by the twenty eight seventy f two because obviously, you know, if you the traditional range twenty four seventy, so if you are willing to compromise to miss out on you twenty four, twenty eight, you can do something with you. You can either make IT lighter and cheaper and or you could go large and make a brighter, which is what yeah at the launch last we forget IT was a long time ago. The launch of E S R is when kind out that twenty eight, seventy three thousand, six years a while.
So six years of lens evolution has allowed SONY to make a considerably smaller and light lighter note ally light to its like just under a kyo, competitive about one and a half kilos for the, for the Cameron, which makes a mutio practical fits and event lenin you Carry around all day, or all night or all day night you are going to really appreciate in about two thousand the weight uh and despite a Chris h boke a debacle boke a gate as we will now return to IT this results are really nice from IT can we believe a word that this man now says about so so I know that's that's the revelation today then about you guys that I want to is a tough position because that a one already did almost everything there, a few where things missing room. This was four years ago. I didn't have preceptive.
I don't think about focus marketing. I think IT proceeded things like a bold time or an into phonemes. Some there were a few like pretty basic things that didn't have over the years, zones of added those back into their cameras or put them in IT requires all of that IT puts IT in the eight, nine, three body.
So what you end up with is a camera that really only had one brand new features, far as hours aware, which is auto subject detection. So IT got all of the new subjects from the a nine, three, and it's got the the A I based A F processor that was really well we've already seen, but now has not so much, which means and I tested the hell out of IT because it's what i've always wanted. I thought I Better, you know, my money where my mouth is, and say, I tried IT out a lot.
I tried IT. So when i'm testing cameras, I often down at brighton sea from now be thinking about photographing seekers and now see a bird detection, right? But then you see really interesting dog walks passed to something you know, is bright and that quite out there, the output that way.
So oh, now because which the animal detection, there's interesting working person. There's a street scenario. I want auto.
Such a detection, they put IT on. And IT works brilliantly. The response time is fractionally just francine's slower. When I was photographing birds just suddenly appearing in the frame, split second difference between auto, i'll have to go everything and dedicated bird or bird animal. So I thought I was tremendous.
I would use IT for everything, apart from if I was like, i'm only gonna photographing birds or i'm doing a portrait you only of pet dogs that's what i'm doing. I'll get a free animal mode. Everything is brilliant.
But you can you understand why people were a bit kind of disappointed that there was no ww feature, but then it's only the second time you've used the center? Of course, IT was gonna turn up in something again and fifty make a big soles at three phrase was said this more enough for me. I'm very satisfied with that.
So you've got you kind of talk on the one how you disappointed, on the other hand, is like what you expect and you will say that take you down the route where you think should we always be expecting this camera to be completely rebuilt and reinvented every single time? It's unsustainable. You know, you can't just expect that degree of growth for everything.
But as I said at the beginning, IT does make the r five about to look quite affordable in comparison. That's the big thing that I took from IT. The a one two is a camera that does virtually everything very, very well, but at six in half ground and the market has moved on. When the a one came out, there are five one came out and IT was quite compromised in some ways.
So it's a very easy review to make you to say, look, you know the outside, but one does load but if you wanted to do IT, more can confidently uh without as much ov heating without scaring get the a one that's what you spend the extra but now that's a bit more blood so i'm still a little bit turn over the a one two you know, on the one hand, I love IT. It's my favorite camera in the series. But on the hand, you can help one work because regreted were used to IT.
So I would say, what did I give them for the first half? Jhn you? You gave them A C plus.
I really gotta go up because .
the a wanted that was quite harsh, wasn't IT I would say a solid. I'm going to give A B plus that I .
was made .
me for what what we want from SONY is N A. So that's reflecting my the disappointment of the people who want IT more. But I still think this is score.
Do you know what I mean? I'm going to get in trouble then. But.
but the rex, everything, like everything, R, X won that. I want arx one hundred. I went the alex box.
I want the alex ten. They're great. Can we have them again, please?
Yes, good.
So I be plus.
but i'm going .
to give me a minus. I'm going to give an a with a minus behind IT. And that's not just because they gave me four point six million dollars this year.
I think SONY make some of the best lenses. I will say they're some of my favorite lenses ses across the board, the sharp. I think the emphasis on making everything lighter and smaller has been very positive and very successful.
The eighty five year one point four, I thought I was great like love that optic um ideal and IT was noticed by smaller and lighter the twenty eight seventy for me as god dear have already gushed on that so and when I heard that come out, I mean, yeah Jordan saw I was like, oh my god, that's perfect. I like I lost my mind so yeah, I think someone's done a really good job. I witness to, he witnessed that and that v ten, you know, sure, but I I really enjoy the cameras.
And so what IT comes to the a one, two, I get that a lot of people give you a hard time, but at the same time, they made the first flagship camera for miracles. I would say the one was really the first, like, look what we can do. This is all the best technology.
Yes, it's so, but it's very vertie. And there wasn't really anything that camera could handle. And for me, a flagship camera should be a camera that a professional can use in the rough test environments for many different kinds. photography.
And i'm not saying anyone was perfect, but IT IT really showed a lot of potential, right? And that sensor was way out of its time, is when the a one, two came out, I had the same reaction or I did, oh, it's a body we ve seen before. It's a sensor we've seen before, but it's a hell of a sensor.
I mean, IT really does compete with everybody else. Is sensor IT gives us five more make pixel the night on. It's giving us very similar sand rates.
Um you know the canon or one senses great, but it's have to make a pixel council like look like that still an achievement. And on top of that, sony's body design is compact. The n nine three body, that's what it's using, but that is their best body.
They've come a long way in having Better men use, Better controls, Better handling, a best screen design you'll find from any brand of company as far as the backbone goes, fantastic EV. F with incredibly high resolution, you don't need to improve on that like they did so much already. IT makes sense to have this.
Like do I want to twelve million dot E V F? I don't think so. I don't think we need IT. So kind of brought us into an interesting thought experiment that jorn never talk about, that I was like, imagine if the a one never existed.
Imagine if SONY just came out with the a one two as their flagship camera in response to the niches at eight, eight, nine and r, five, two and the r one. And if you think about IT that way, look at the a one two. You be like, dam, it's expensive but great body, best l city panel, best e vf can handle any kind of photography um you know decent video capability.
The auto focuses is very reliable. The auto subject tonight, great. It's got recaptured. You would look at IT and say yes against his sad night. It's more expensive, but it's also got a Better E, V F, and it's got really good controls and higher makeup pixel count faster.
So I think if you look at in that way, if you really just judge IT on its on its merits right now, IT is a flagship camera by every right. And I think IT IT earns that position. And especially compared to the r one, IT doesn't really look that expensive compared to the edits at night.
IT absolutely does. But IT does have those features that those cameras don't have when IT comes to display is in eva and stuff. And so IT makes nikon cameras fantastic value for the dollar, even more fantastical, which is great for them.
IT does kind of make the head nine no look even worse than IT did before. If the zeta didn't make the deadline look bad. This now kind of makes IT look a little bit worse. And so that's why I feel IT needs be dated and cannon is gonna have to answer with something soon. I think .
gordon are raising your hand.
yeah. I just wanted to quickly respond to a couple of things that the you find that is gorgeous, but IT does reduce resolution while it's continually auto focusing and something I think is important to mention. And the I don't believe the fork video is over sample, I wouldn't mind like a higher ality take version, even if IT recorded for less time, everyone had to go canon for their fok.
Fine, overheating faster, but at least they had a best quality option, if you want today. And I think that screen, which is great of articulation, panasonic came up without first in the on the s one H I think so just three things out because IT is easy to grub about the a one two. And I love there's a lot about IT, but it's not perfect.
okay. So would you ever bottle then? Let's have a fight. No, no, no. I grew with what you're saying.
But yeah, the fact that somebody have came out with that doesn't mean it's not a fantastic design and and I mean there there's slightly different and the EV f is still going to be way Better than the three point six nine million dot that we get out of. The icon bodies know, especially on a height resolution camera when you want to do play back. You know for me, the high EV f isn't for the high rev f isn't necessary for shooting.
When IT comes to shooting photography, I just wanted to be black out, free and responsive, which IT is, and so is the icon. Um IT comes into play back when I go into my photos. I want to be able to see detail judge of things are sharp that in and that's where that high resolution ally appeals to me so that that's where the advance should be for me.
On that, I agree. And video, I an org talk about that. So that doesn't really impact me as much. Is still a good video care. You can't onie, it's still a good video camera.
So I went b minus at the start of the year. I was quite underwhelmed by well, tony was up to but since then that dev e tend to I don't think it's a good blog in camera. As gordon said, pocket three all day.
I do think IT is a good creator. Camera is like a static set IT up good picture quality. Finally, moving to a sensor that makes sense for shooting video.
That was a big move where the e ten, I would consider basically unusable for that. But that was a nice update. Um I agree early on the lenders ah the eighty five is killer that twenty to seventy looked to be beautiful.
But the a one I really do have to criticize that for what gordon was getting to there, which is so much of the stuff that seems to be processor limitations with its like you know dropping the resolution in the event not being able to suit lossless compressed raw at thirty frames per second. That's not a sensor limitation, that's a processor limitation. And the video not being over sampled, given almost four years I really thought they would ever resolved those issues.
IT almost seemed lazy to me in some way. And maybe IT is just get the same chip that they had before with the AI processor on there. Maybe there's no way to offload that differently, but those were disappointing things I was really expecting SONY to address.
So i'm still going to give them A B plus. I think the a one is a one two has an incredible camera. This v ten two has its place and they have slide with glass.
But yeah just it's not the SONY i'm used to seeing where all the time IT would just be like, wow, that came out of nowhere in as varies. Impressive or the ones who we're like you've been complaining about this. We're going to address IT in the subsequent model because they didn't address any of those three concerns.
All right. Well, we are extremely long time to cut this. Cut this short. We will not have a tax supporter never read comments this week, so maybe next week we can get to.
But we have a very packed podcasting schedule for the rest of the sea. We're going to end the show with a feel good story of the week that gordon has been teetering for this whole show. And that is that .
a good friend .
in .
this work.
If you .
lost this one already, buy this one.
So so I also have one because ted bob is a good friend of mine and I A good friend of bore. Yeah jorden Chris, you just got to step up your friendship with ted forbes. Ted forbes rot about.
He called, visually speaking, this is really fun. I don't know. It's going to work for everyone. If if you watched ted bobber channel, you know his voice and you know how he talks. If you read this book is crazy.
I can hear his voice so clearly and how he write that his voice is in my head. It's usually when I read books, it's my own voice I hear in there. But now this time it's ted voice I hear.
I liked the way he's formed of this book. He's also filled IT with a lot of a really lovely photography that helps really for me. It's making me want to go out and shoot again, which Chris likes.
I know Chris likes that when I feel inspired to go to pictures. This book is definitely doing that for me. We are not a filler at linking the teddy ook anything.
I'm not getting going to kick back. I just legitimately think this is a good book. You should go check IT out.
I'll put a link to IT and description below. We planned to have ted on in january. We don't have time for him right now. He didn't that time for us right now. I think IT was more the latter.
Yeah he we can get on the show because he's too busy but will get him in january and will talk some more about this book then. But if you're looking for something, you're not sure who to get what to get for a photographer, end of yours. This is probably a very good option.
So to say, it's like there's a lot of instructional books out our photography where there they're very instructional, but they really just talk about technical benefits. And ted is so good at really making fall in love with photography and the art behind IT as well as teaching you how to do that yourself and how to achieve those things.
And and i'm all just going to say canada post is on a postal strike right now, so nothing is coming over the border from P. S. And that's probably what IT is.
but we don't .
want IT is.
And what if that's the case? His book sucks. So all right.
Well, with that, gordon, thank you for joining us again for this. We will be happy to see you again on the podcast. It's always been great. And yeah, with that, we're going to end IT.
We'll see next week. Goodbye you, gorden. Love you all. bye.
