How can ChatGPT transform your business or your productivity in general? In this episode, we will find out seven innovative ways to leverage this powerful AI tool and boost your productivity today. Welcome to the future of your ex. I'm your host, Patricia Reiners.
And yeah, The Future of Your Ex is a podcast where we are exploring the latest tech trends and design news so you keep up to date about what's going on in the tech and in the design world. And I already spoiled the tea. In this episode, it comes to a very, very special topic, AI. And also, this episode comes with a very special present for you. But more about it in a second.
Artificial intelligence is changing everything and presents us with a multitude of opportunities to not just like boost our workflow but also to really focus on tasks that are much more engaging and leave repetitive tasks to machines. And for me this is a game changer. And of course there are some people who are complaining that AI is like taking away jobs
but that's actually not the case and if you learn how to use AI you suddenly have more time and energy for what's truly exciting. And today's episode is all about the seven ways you can use JetGPT to enhance your work as a creative freelancer. And to make things even better I've prepared a mini guide that summarizes everything from this episode and a little bit more with examples and tips and tricks for you.
and it's not only beautiful design but also incredibly helpful as a guide to get started with using chachibuti or also trying out new things you can download the guide completely for free see it as a present for your loyalty and for your support and you can find the link in the description box so yeah you can just sign up and download it and then use it
Yeah, you feel free to either do it straight away or you can do it after the episode. You don't need this for the episode. This is just a help or something you can do afterwards. And also as a little background information, I am currently in Cape Town in South Africa and I am sitting in a beautiful wooden house surrounded by nature.
And at the moment I'm looking out of the window into a really beautiful garden. So there's a lot of nature here, which is, I think, a really good atmosphere and a stunning setting for recording this podcast episode, which is about tech. So I think the perfect setting. And in general, if you're interested in seeing what I'm up to each day or what my life looks like as a freelance UX designer,
You can always follow me on Instagram and then see a little bit behind the scenes about how my life looks like, what I'm doing, how working with the clients looks like and yeah, feel free to say hi, I always love to connect. And yes, I would say without further ado, let's get started with the seven ways to use ChatGPT.
And trust me, some of these ways will definitely surprise you as to what's possible with ChatGPT at the moment. So I'm trying a lot of different things out. Let's get started with the first one, which is a very, very obvious one. It's inspiration and brainstorming. So as a creative designer or as a freelancer, you may occasionally maybe even hit a creative block or struggle to come up with new ideas. That's totally normal.
And I am a freelancer, so most of the times I'm working alone on projects. So what I'm missing the most is like to ping ponging ideas back and forth or just really brainstorming together. And ChatGPT can be a great resource for inspiration and brainstorming. So if you're stuck on a project and need some fresh ideas, ChatGPT can help you brainstorm or you can even ask it for feedback, right?
So ask it for creative prompts for inspiration and it can generate suggestions based on your input. For example, you could ask, what are some creative ways to market a new product? Or what are some unique design elements to include in a website for a fitness brand? Or another example, you can ask, what are some innovative features that I could include in a dating app? And to GPT, just an example responded like,
You can add like video profiles, you know, the ability to create video profiles that showcase users personality, hobbies and interests. Pretty cool. Or interactive icebreakers, so a feature that provides fun and interactive icebreaker activities to help users start conversations and get to know each other or audio messaging. It's not really new, right? Like some dating apps already have that.
or group dates or any kind of safety features virtual reality day so like pretty innovative i mean this is just the beginning but then it's really nice to spark some ideas so i think the first point is a very important and very helpful for inspiration and brainstorming either for feedback or for just getting some ideas some insights not only when you're on creative blog but maybe if you just want some feedback and then let's go to point number two which is
Copywriting and content creation. So ChatGPT can also be a very helpful tool for copywriting and content creation. I think this is the most obvious one. For example, you could ask ChatGPT to generate product descriptions, headlines, social media captions for your clients, for yourself. ChatGPT could also assist you with researching and writing blog posts, articles, and other types of content. For example, you could ask it
Can you help me write a product description for a new line of beauty products? You can even define that much more. What kind of beauty product is it? What do you want to have included there? What are some ideas for social media captions for a client's upcoming campaign? Or another example, can you write copy for a landing page for a vegan recipe app?
And then it starts with like the heading would be delicious and nutritious vegan recipes. And then subheading discover the best plant based recipes for healthier you and so on and so on.
And the copy actually is quite good. Of course, you need to change it, rearrange it, don't use it exactly like it is. But if you have a quick prototype, something very easy, something that you just need to test, need feedback on, that doesn't need to be perfect, it's a great way and so much better than low-ramp Ipsilom, right? Because it's just like one type-- just typing one thing on ChatGPT away.
Okay, let's move to point number three, and I think this is a very interesting one. That's design and layout. ChatGPT can assist with design and layout tasks, and I think this was really a surprise for me. For example, you could ask ChatGPT for design recommendations such as color schemes, typography, and layout ideas. You could also ask to create mockups or wireframes for websites or app designs, for example.
you could ask what are some color schemes that will work well for a travel website can you help me create a via frame for mobile app i'm designing or one thing that i try and out you can find all the examples in the free mini guide that you can download i'm just in you find the link in the description box there you see everything and all the examples everything i tried out
So I tried, can you help me create a wireframe for a mobile banking app I'm designing? And what he came up with, or she, ChatGPT, it, I don't know how you call it,
Example would be, they are, or like, JGPT came up with like an explanation of the wireframe, so the header section includes the bank logo and a menu icon that expands to reveal additional navigation options. Then we have, second, the account overview. The account overview section displays a summary of the user's account balance, recent transactions, and an upcoming bills or payment due.
and so on and so on so pretty detailed pretty interesting great to get some feedback some first thought especially when it needs to be quick and you could just build that design that real quick use that get feedback on it and adjust right or use that as like a starting point and then discuss that in the group right like in your team for example it's a really great starting point
Okay, and then point number four, and this was probably the most surprising one for me that this is even possible. And I think this is something like a lot of people don't know yet. And this is actually design feedback. So ChatGPT can give you feedback on your designs, your wireframes and your flows. So you could ask ChatGPT for suggestions on improving your designs.
but ask for usability tips you could ask for like color scheme recommendations or composition recommendations for example what are your recommendations for the color scheme for a vegan delivery app or do you have any usability tips for this screen design for a banking app and here comes the trick to get feedback on it
When you ask the question about a certain design, you need to add a link to a web-hosted image. So if you're working in Figma, for example, you export the screen design as an image. JPEG, for example, you upload it to a web-hosted service like Dropbox or Google Drive. And then you add the Google Drive link to the question. And then it analyzes this image or this screen design.
try it out. It's super interesting. I tried it with a design that I found from like that I changed a little bit. It's like actually from the Figma community. It's like a very basic design from a design library that you can download as a starting point. And I did some adjustments, some changes, and I asked for color scheme recommendations and I asked for composition recommendations.
and i got some really really interesting feedback i don't want to go too much into detail but if you want to know a little bit more about it check out the reel that i posted on instagram i usually don't promote uh like my instagram or any other channels um in the podcast because i think it's like super annoying but i think in that case it's very very helpful because i'm also like comparing
like the screen design and then the feedback and I'm like kind of referring to it and I think it's like much more helpful if you see it visually so definitely check out that reel okay point number five it's user research
So planning and helping doing the user research process can be really helpful. So ChatGPT can help you gather information on your target audience and also help you to conduct user research studies. For example, you could ask, can you find some research studies on the usage of mobile devices at e-commerce? Or I need to collect some user feedback on a new feature we are launching. Can you help me generate a survey, for example?
and this is also what i did um like can you help me you know to write a survey or like different questions for a survey our goals is to find participants for an interview and then i defined what we need and then chat gpt came up with all the questions that we need to include in this in the survey of course you need to adjust maybe a little bit and do some changes but i think it's a very good starting point and really helps you to
And yeah, boost the workflow there. And then we have point number six, market research and analysis. And as a creative, as a creative freelancer, as a designer, you may need to conduct market research and analyze trends in a particular industry. That's very common. That's something that most creatives or designers usually not really enjoying because it's a lot of like repetitive work, a lot of like research work, a lot of like Googling and like checking the Internet.
and chat gpt can definitely assist you with this by providing information on consumer behavior competitor analysis or even like emerging trends in your industry for example you could ask what are some emerging trends in the e-commerce industry or what are some ways that consumers are changing their behavior when it comes to online shopping super super super interesting
So one thing that I asked was, what are some ways that consumers are changing their behavior when it comes to online shopping, for example? And then JetGPT came up with different points, for example, increased use of mobile devices and elaborated a little bit on it. And then number two is like growing interest in sustainability. Number three is more emphasis on convenience. Number four is like preference of personalization.
And number five is increasing use of social media, etc. So there, of course, the tool elaborated on each of those points that you could get a little bit more insights, but a really, really, really great starting point. And then the last but not least point, which is also really interesting and was really new to me before I tried it out, is project management.
So JetGPT can help you or it's a really helpful tool for project management as well. So you could use it to create project timelines or schedules that remind us for upcoming deadlines or even manage your calendar and schedule appointment. For example, you could ask
Can you help me create a product timeline for a new website I'm developing? And there, of course, you need to define what needs to be included. What do you already know? What is the time frame that you have? So everything you know, put it in there and then it creates some kind of like an outline for you.
and of course this is just an example so you need to iterate on it and adjust it a little bit so don't just like use it right away but also a really good starting point i would say okay so now we went through these seven ways of course they are more but i think those sevens are super helpful and very interesting
So feel free to try it out and don't forget to find or to download the mini guide that I prepared for you. You find it in the description box. You just need to sign up for my newsletter and then you will get delivered straight to your mailbox and you can download it and use it. Check it out. See all the examples there and a lot of resources. Yeah, feel free to download it. I hope it's helpful for you and you enjoy it. And yes.
