Now, let the buzz begin! Hey guys, and welcome to AfterBuzz TV. This is the after show for Chasing Life, and it is already the 11th episode, you guys. What in the world? It's crazy now. Crazy. I cannot believe we only have a couple more episodes left to go. You guys can tweet at us tonight. You can tweet me at Heather Joy Smith, along with these lovely ladies. You can tweet me at HeatherGTV. And you can tweet me at underscore Michelle Fee.
So. Wait. Hashtag. Oh, I forgot. Hashtag. Chasing life. ABTV. Yeah. Okay, now get on. What, what?
Get on. On with you. On with the episode. Yes. So this episode, April, at the very beginning is looking for an agent for her book. She's written, what, 22 pages, single-spaced, she said. Kind of funny. You're right. Kind of about her life, I guess you could say at first. She's trying to
To write a memoir. To write a memoir. She's only 25-ish, so what is that, you know? Yeah, this storyline to me is meh. Well, that's like the same thing as like Miley writing her own memoir when she was only 17. Miley Cyrus? Yeah, but Miley Cyrus was a celebrity. Yes, but she's been through a lot. She's got a lot of crazy stories happening in her own life that she can talk about. But here's the thing. It's like a lot of people have a lot of crazy things in their life, but who's going to care?
I'm just being a realist here. No, no, like, that's a totally legit, like, question. We care about Miley's craziness because she was a celebrity. I mean, some of us care, personally. I mean, but I'm just saying, like... No, no, no, I totally agree, but if you...
If you think about it, it is a TV show about her life. So someone has to care. Are those Chicken Soup for the Soul books still around? She should just write a little thing for that. I think they are. Yeah, okay. Aren't they all like 784 by now? They're pretty good books that a lot of people are reading. I read them a lot when they first came out. I mean, that was... As an adult. Yeah, exactly. Like, are they still a thing? Because that was like a long time ago. Okay, she should just write for one of those.
Not enough? Not enough. Whatever. She needs her own book. It's not big enough. Right. Does she really? She does. She went through a lot in a span of a year. A ton, yeah. A ton. She got cancer. She broke this druggy athletic story. And then she got married. Yeah.
And then her husband died. And her dad. And her dad also died. And she found out she has an illegitimate sister. Right. That's a lot. That's a lot. It sounds like a TV show. It happened in one year. That's like six chapters already. I feel like that really could be like a TV show.
No. No. Stop. Get out the door. The door's over there, Heather. See y'all later. Bye. I just hit myself. That's what you deserve for making fun of the show. Thank you! Thank you! Alexis, do not feed the animals. I'll be here all for the next two weeks because then we go on hiatus. Oh, God. Alexis is feeding this one over here. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it.
Alright, I'm done for right now. Anyways, Michelle, so would you like to have a conversation about chasing life tonight? Of course. I mean, we did talk about earlier how it should just be the two of us. We did. Hey! Hey!
Whatever. Anyway. Well, we missed you last week, so. Thank you. Anyways. Okay. Can we talk about this ribbon cutting ceremony? So April is invited to go speak at this ribbon cutting ceremony for Leo's camp that he really wanted. She gets up there. She kind of freezes, doesn't know what to say. And can we mention Dominic went with her, which is, we'll get into that after this. But.
I felt really bad for her because the whole episode she's been struggling with, you know, getting her feelings out and talking about her emotions. And she's obviously holding things in again, which is understandable. Now, Dominic. Oh, my favorite topic. Two questions, I guess. Do you think it was weird that he went with her to a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Leo's camp?
Next question. Or do you think it was sweet that...
And supportive. I want you guys to tweet us, too, and let us know your side of it. But I want to hear what you guys thought. I think it was both. Yeah, I feel like it was both, too. I thought it was a little awkward just because you could just tell that he was, like, trying to get in on her good side. You know what I mean? Like, he... But he has been her friend. It's not like all of a sudden he's doing that. No, I know. They've been friends for the whole series. I know they have been friends for the whole series, but if you go back a couple episodes, like, they kind of had a little, like, rough patch. Yeah. You know? So, like...
He is trying to get back on her good side, but I feel like he kind of also needs to let her, like, grieve still. You know, like... But, okay, first of all, she didn't have anybody else. Where was the rest of her family? This is kind of a big deal. Yeah, I was a little shocked that the rest of the family wasn't there. Yeah, or that his parents. I didn't see them either. I mean, she had to have somebody there. Good point. It had to be Dominic, I guess. Dominic.
I liked it. I thought it was cute. I really did. Yeah, right? But yeah, no, I think he is selfishly or maybe, I mean, I think he's genuine. He's genuine. He's genuine.
But he wants you to worry about it. That's exactly what it is. In my book, at least. That's what I was thinking. Obviously, as we come to find out, he still loves her. He still wants to be with her. He hasn't even... The point is to give it some space. Eye rolls. One million eye rolls. Right. Like, I get... Okay, I get the whole thing. Dominic, you still love her. That's fine. I'm not gonna knock that. But...
But... Leave it alone. Leave it alone for a couple months. At the very least. A couple months. At the very least. A year. A year. How long do you think it takes to get over your dead husband? Yeah. More than a couple months. More than a couple months. Okay. I mean, I just... Okay. I guess everybody's different. I might not... What? I mean, I think it's a little insensitive to have him, like, wait, like, a couple months. But they don't even know each other a year. So how can you grieve a year if you didn't even know him? Who is this girl over here? I don't know.
I mean, I feel like it's a really sad thing. It's really sad. Do you get it? Because you keep saying a couple of ones. I do. Really? I do, but I'm just thinking maybe she wants to move on. Okay, but I will say, even though, no, just no. I will say that, well, first of all, is that Dominic's real voice? Because, all right, when he got up there and sang, I'm pretty sure he was a singer. I don't know, because the entire time his mouth was just covered.
So I was just like, am I talking? Am I talking? Yeah. Like either he doesn't know the song or he's just lip singing and he feels like really bad at it. And they were just like, either way, it was a pretty cool moment. And you could tell it was the moment where April's also realizing, hey, these feelings, because truthfully, I believe they never went away. I believe the whole Leo thing was this fantasy that she created because she was dying. So would she really wait a year then?
I'm just kidding. She is cussing you. Hey, I don't want that. I don't want that. But no, I mean, no,
I don't think Leo was the fantasy thing. I just think the thing is that she didn't have a chance to get over her feelings for Dominic because she jumped into her relationship so quickly. The feelings never went away and I think during this episode, during his lovely song that I really love, she's kind of realizing that, you know. Yeah. I hope that she figures out that that's kind of also insensitive on her part. Give it at least three months, not a couple. Because a couple is like two.
Exactly. I meant like a couple as in like six or seven. Okay. That's like a few months or like a handful, right? A handful a month. Okay. I don't really. Half a year. What do they say? I don't normally say a handful of months when I'm like talking generally. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. What's that rule when you break up? Does that apply when you die? When you're supposed to take the amount of time you were together and multiply it by two or cut it in half. But then it would be a handful. You know what I'm saying? What is the thing? Isn't it?
You're supposed to take the... I've never heard of this. I've never heard of this. Okay, let's say they've been together a year. It depends on how long the relationship was. If it's short, you cut it in half. If it's longer, you double it. Oh, gosh. Ten years. No, no, sorry. Other way around.
I'm sorry. If I was married to some guy for ten years and then he died, I'm not waiting five years to date again. You don't have to wait, but how long do you think it'll take you to get over it? A long time. You probably never get over it. Exactly, but I'm just saying. But you gotta go out there and date again. But she can wait till his body turns cold. It did. Oh my god, mother!
Whoa. Alyssa's freaking out. So much hot stuff coming from this one over here tonight. What? I have some coffee. What can you say? Clearly.
Let's move on, shall we? We probably should. Let's talk about Brenna, because... Oh, Brenna. Oh, I feel so bad for her. I feel bad for her, too. I don't like that little girl trying to move in on her project. Right? I don't know what her name is, but... You don't need to know her name. She needs to go away. Like, I'm sorry, Finn and Brenna forever. What...
Forever or a couple months. I'm trying to ship them. Finna. Yay. You can do Finna. Finna. There we go. I like it. I'm trying to think of a ship name for them. Finna. I like it. Okay. So Finna is going to be together forever. Finna forever. Say that three times fast.
I like them together. I think it's really kind of strange that, first of all, popular girl, cancer boy. I don't know. It doesn't really click for me. She's not necessarily the popular girl. I thought she was just very popular. That reminds me of Red Band Society, you guys. What? Oh, yeah. That reminds me of Red Band Society. Popular girl, yeah. Aw. Aw, memories. Memories. Anyway. Anyway. We were all on that panel together. Yeah.
I mean, I don't know. I just thought she shouldn't have done what she did. I thought what she said was horrible and she deserved to be slapped in the face. She did. And I think that she should have been suspended too. With Shakespeare. I love that. That's cute. I think that she should have been suspended too. We don't know if she was or not. No, I didn't sound like it. Yeah, but okay, in this very tolerant world we live in, if she said something like that, she'd probably get expelled. Right.
I mean, she made a... I wouldn't say sexual, bisexual joke. No, she made a very offensive comment. It was very offensive. Yeah, it was a very offensive comment that she made. And you know what? Bruna has every right to be with Finn or...
Greer? Thank goodness it's not Greer. What? I didn't like her with Greer. Remember? Yes. We remember Greer. It's been a long time. No, I said she didn't like her. I didn't like her. Yeah, I didn't like them together. I'm glad it's Finn. I like Finn. You like Finna? I like Finna. Finna forever. They're cute. Finna forever. Hashtag. I'm going to regret that ship name. Um, Britta is also dealing with
Overwhelming amounts of emotional bottled up in her that she's not letting anyone know about. And ends up breaking down at the end and talking about her father and the relationship they had. That was really sad. How he would put one gummy bear in her yogurt. It's so cute. It's really cute. It made me cry. Do you think... It was really sad. It was just upsetting for her because she had such a great relationship with him that it's upsetting he wouldn't tell her that. Right.
Do you think that it's fair for Sarah to completely cut George off after the incident? No, because he... I mean, granted, he shouldn't have done what he did. Oh, of course. Like, he shouldn't have watched his brother die. But I feel like he kind of just did what his older brother wanted him to. And it's like, at that moment, like, what would you do? You know, like, he was obviously suffering. And...
I mean, he didn't do it by his own hands, but he let it happen. Let it happen. Right. And I, you know, George's family, he's been there a lot through the last year or so that we've seen him. Um,
They've had relationships. And he's also helped, you know, April in her cancer treatment. So I think cutting him off wouldn't be the smartest thing to do at this point. They can be mad at him, upset with him, but I don't think cutting him off is the right thing to do. Not at all. I feel like they should have at least, like, talked to him about it. Because he was also grieving, too, but he had to grieve in private. Right. You know, and, like...
After Thomas died, like, they kind of just cut him out, too. Right. So it's like, why are you doing this to him again after welcoming him back? I think it's going to take a couple months. I knew you were going to say something because you looked at me and I was just like, Heather, we are talking about something that's like... And my eyes were like, this is not funny right now. Okay. It's not a funny joke time.
This is serious. Oh, my God. Okay. She's very insensitive tonight. It's a show. And I like it. There's grieving people. In the show. Anyway, though, I really do think that it's going to take some time. I was really serious about that. It is going to take some time. It is. And I understand the initial hostility. Shocking, obviously, what went down.
I think they're going to have to take some time and get the trust back there that has been lost because I think that's significant right now is they all feel betrayed by him. Absolutely. So I get it. Maybe Brynna wants to go there to help
get that relationship back on track? I don't know. I feel like she hasn't, like, I mean, maybe the rest of them have lost their trust with her, but I feel like she hasn't with George. I feel like the same way, yeah. It just seems like that, because it seems like she's so much closer with him, and maybe she sees him as, like, a second father figure. I also think that...
really wants to go to Berkeley. Totally. She really, really wants that. She's already had all of these other obstacles stand in her way and she's just not going to let this be one more thing. Right. That's going to make her not go do what she wants to do. Right. She's a teenager. She's obviously got a lot of feelings and a lot of things going on and she just wants to do what she wants to do and not get any opinions from anybody. Right.
Yep. Also, this episode, we got to see a little bit of Beth's personal life. Yay. I'm happy for her. I'm so happy. And the man. The relationship is going good. I can't believe this relationship is going on. I still love it.
I know because usually they cut it off right around when it gets good. I know. Even though this is the best guy so far. He's made it like what three or four episodes. I know. I'm like hey he's still here. Good job. What's his name? Exactly. I don't know. What is it? Farkas? Farkas. Farkas? I know that's the company he works for right?
Isn't it Farkas? Why are you just saying random things? I am not saying random things. I thought it was Farkas. I thought his name was like... Not his name. Remember the pharmaceutical company he works for? That's not the guy. Is this a different guy? No, that's the guy that she's dating is the guy that... Yeah, the Farkas guy. The pharmaceutical company. I thought it was the guy's son. No, they broke up at the funeral.
Oh, that's right. Oh. That's right. I've been thinking it was the same guy the whole time. Oh, my God. Where have you been? I didn't look that closely, I guess. He's way cuter. And he's older. They all look the same. No, they don't. They kind of do. They kind of just blend together. Right. I think because I didn't get attached because I felt like it's just going to be another, like, one episode guy. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah, the other guy, the son, was definitely like one or two episodes. She used him to get back at the other ex. That's right. And then he was like, uh-uh, I'm not doing this. And they broke up at the funeral. Or was it the wedding? The wedding. They broke up at the wedding. Yeah, that's right. He was really cute, though. He was cute. But he was like way young. He was like 12. 12.
I love that 12 is the go-to age when we tell people that someone looks really young. Well, yeah. Okay, fine. He looks 14. I'd give him 18. Yeah, but she's definitely not 18. Either way, I like this relationship better, even though we don't know his name. Pretty sure the pharmaceutical company is Farkas, though. And that's what we're going to call him. All right. All right. Farkas. I like where this is going, and she got very good news about the fashion thing. Right. Well, it almost wasn't.
Her boss is so... She's insane. And I'm so glad she quit. I know. I am too. I'm so proud of her. And I think she's going to do amazing things with her new line. And she is going to outdo her old boss. Oh, absolutely. I definitely agree. Yeah, remember a couple episodes ago when they did that whole fashion thing and her stuff just looked awful?
Yes. Like... Bad. Really bad. Who let that go on? Who did that? Listen, I mean, I've seen some stuff in New York Fashion Week where I'm just like, who let that go on? Right. Lauren Conrad, though. I did not see that one. Lauren Conrad always comes through. I like clothes that I can wear.
I'm not going to name any names about clothes I can't wear or afford. But I'm just saying, okay? Fashion is a whole different thing that I don't understand. So, but yeah, it was fugly. Yeah. It was fugly. So, now we'll have better fashion. They already have great fashion on the show. They're so trendy. They are. I love it. I love it. Well, let us know what you guys think. Make sure to tweet us, Chasing Life ABTV, and let's get into some predictions. Chasing Life.
And now, your AfterBuzz TV predictions. That's what a prediction is. Your turn. Oh, my turn? Oh. Anyway, okay. We didn't mention Natalie. Oh, my God. She's back to Florida. Don't worry. I got you. I got you. She's coming back to the kitchen. She goes back to Florida. She's not ready. She quits her job.
leaves the apartment. She is done with Boston. She is done with the Carver family. She says she needs time. Good thing, though, she's still going to be April's donor, which is great. That was a really big thing that Sarah was talking about. Although, I thought it was a little insensitive for Sarah to call and be like, I love you, plus you're my daughter's donor.
I thought that was a little much. I was like, dude. It's like, stop. Dude. Yeah. Like, stop trying so hard. Right. Yeah. You can, maybe the second call, mention the donor thing. Okay. Once you have her on the phone. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I thought that was a little strange. But anyway, she decides that she needs some space. And we know that George destroyed the manuscript. They think it's gone. However, the mother appears and she just opened up a whole,
different door with that accent. And she has the entire manuscript book. So, my prediction, well, I don't know. I have thoughts. My prediction, they're Russian spies.
Oh, you actually think they were? You think Natalie and her mom are Russian spies? I don't think Natalie is. But I think the mom. Why would they put that in there? Why? Put what in there? That they were. Well, no. At the end, she goes, she's talking like normal. And then she goes, oh, I have the manuscript. And she goes, that's an interesting story. Like, all accent-y. She's a Russian spy.
That's pretty good. That might have been the best thing you said all night. I don't know. I really liked my joke. Okay, whatever. Anyway, Russian spy Dominic is definitely going to move in on April and April is going to realize she has these hidden feelings for Dominic but she might wait a couple months or five. She might wait a handful of months. We're going
We're going to start a new trend. A handful of months. A handful of months. No, but season finale. They kiss. Okay. Oh! What can I say? Oh my God. That's a good one. Yes. I would actually be very shocked if that happened. Why? If they kiss. Why? It's too soon. I think they're going to kiss, but April's going to be like, oh my God, what just happened? It's probably going to break her out. Maybe Beth gets engaged.
There we go.
Okay. I think Natalie is going to go back and read the entire manuscript and then call April about it. I thought this was going to be the last time we see her because, you know, she's not in Boston anymore. But Jessica Mraz, the actress who plays her, tweeted back at me and says, have a little faith. So she will be back. Yay! That's happy news!
Fail. And then I think George is going to come back. Yes. And... I was waiting for the dun-dun-dun. We're going to get a look. Yay! And I think Dom is going to do something. Yes, absolutely.
Absolutely. I think I'm going with your they're going to kiss at the finale. It's going to be a mistake, though, on April's part. She's going to totally freak out. Oh, she absolutely will. Actually, I'm not going to say it's going to be a mistake, but I think it's going to really catch her off guard. I don't think she's going to be expecting it. I think her feelings are catching her off guard. Right. And I obviously think she has feelings for Dominic still. She's catching feelings. She's catching feelings again. By Justin Bieber. Just fiddle!
Or Justin Bieber's song. One of my favorite songs. Anyways. I think that the manuscript is going to bring Natalie back to Boston with the girls. They're all going to read it and figure out what exactly happened. But I don't think we're going to find that out this season. What's the mystery? They know that he killed himself. What if George is still lying? What if George is their real...
No, stop. There we go! They have? They might be. What if April was his daughter? What if April was his daughter?
What if April was the illegitimate one? That makes no sense. No. I don't know. That doesn't make sense at all. Yes. That was perfect. Anyway. Lots of crazy stuff. Yeah, there's a lot of crazy things. There is. And we really could go anyways. Yeah, with this manuscript. I love it. It's getting good. It's getting good. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
