Hortencia Jimenez, who is from huichol ancestry, was born in the Sierra Madre in the state of Nayarit, Mexico and immigrated to the United States with her paternal grandmother and aunt. She holds a BA, MA, and Ph.D in Sociology and is also a certified Health Coach and Intuitive Eating Counselor, among many other titles!
