Accountability stems from Leadership and responsible stewardship. Organizations need to build leaders at every level of an organization so as to ensure stewardship and accountability at every level. There can be no accountability in the absence of transparency. These elements of accountability, stewardship, transparency and leadership at all levels need to be embedded in the DNA of an organizational culture for the organization to embody authenticity and integrity. Absence of integrity and authenticity will fail to breed trust across all stakeholder groups including the members of the community. Peter Drucker very aptly stated that “Organizational Culture eats strategy for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner” emphasizing the importance of building a culture of accountability and transparency for responsible stewardship.
