Today, millennial generation is coming of age and baby boomers are retiring. The future leaders must ascend from this emerging generation and they have to evolve into leaders who understand the past, respect the road travelled and influence the journey head. It is a fact of life that we all stand on the shoulders of those who came before us. Not respecting those who made our journey possible is not conducive for progress. Not allowing the future to evolve and hang on to the past is a non-starter too. It is time we put our differences aside, assess the path ahead, collaborate and develop a strategy to set sail in the right direction and adjust the sails for a safe passage. Rosalynn Carter eloquently said “A leader takes people where they want to go. A Great Leader takes people where they don’t want to go but ought to be”. Are you ready to be that great millennial leader as the global economy and civil society are at crossroads with the generational divide and technology disruption?
