Every Democracy is administered through an elected Government and without a viable government there is no viable democracy. Democracy is not a spectator sport and we cannot engage in it like we watch a ballgame on TV yelling at anyone who makes a bad play. This is our country government and as “we the people” we must engage in this contact sport as informed citizens to make better public policy choices to build a life that is just right for us. We cannot for a moment forget the wisdom of Gandhi “We the change we have been waiting for” and it behooves us to make that change possible. Transparency and disclosure are necessary parts of good governance be it in the private or public sector. Balancing the interest of the individual, organization and society is the definition of good governance and each citizen has a duty towards contributing to this balance to build a more perfect union.
