As of this week, transgender women will not be permitted to use women's restrooms in parts of the U.S. Capitol complex. It's worth noting that Representative-elect Sarah McBride, a Deleware Democrat who will become the first openly trans member of Congress has her own, private bathroom, as do all members of Congress. Meanwhile, Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith is backing legislation to codify the legal definitions of male and female based on biologically-based legal definitions.
