Hey everyone, Alex here. So this podcast is a little bit different. It's more of an update about everything that's going on with Alex and Books. The main thing is that I published a book. Yes, this is my first book that I self-published and it's available on Amazon. We'll get to that in a second. But it's called Learn to Love Reading. 365 powerful quotes that will inspire you to read more books. And the goal of this book is...
Not like a typical book you would find in a bookstore. It's more of a collection of quotes from a wide range of successful people, from philosophers to scientists to musicians and artists, and just a wide range of people that have really done well in life and accomplished major things, and just kind of noticed that all of them were inspired or impacted by books, and they found reading books to be a crucial part of their success.
So I just wanted to put together an easy, simple book that anyone could read, kind of pick up, and you could just flip through it, find a quote or two that will inspire you to read more books. And that's kind of the main purpose of why I wrote this book.
So we're only a minute into this podcast, but if you're already excited about this book and want to get your hands on it as soon as possible, just click on the show notes below and there'll be a link to it. Also, if you head to alexandbooks.com, there'll be a button that says get a copy of my book here. And you can also find it on Amazon just by searching for Learn to Love Reading. And with that, we're about to dive into the book and I'll talk more about it.
And to give a little bit more background about what this book is about and what you could find in it, I want to read the introduction along with a few quotes from it. So here we go. All of us know reading is good for us and something we should do more often. But for whatever reason, it's never our top priority. This book will change that. Learn to Love Reading is a collection of quotes that will help you develop a passion for books. It's a pick-me-up for those days when you need a little extra motivation to grab a book instead of your phone.
Inside this book, you'll find 365 amazing quotes that will remind you of the wonderful treasure books hold, show you the magical places books can take you, teach you why books are the key to success in any domain, and inspire you to become a lifelong reader. You'll discover quotes from wise philosophers like Cicero and Socrates, from legendary writers like Ernest Hemingway and Victor Hugo, from billionaire entrepreneurs like Elon Musk and Bill Gates, from world leaders like Nelson Mandela and Barack Obama,
From best-selling authors like Jordan Peterson and James Clear, from brilliant investors like Naval Ravikant and Warren Buffett, and many more extraordinary people, this book isn't meant to be read in one sitting, although some bibliophiles may be tempted to do so. But rather, it is intended to be kept next to your sofa, on your coffee table, or near your bookcase so that it's easily accessible and you can turn to it whenever you need a little dose of inspiration to dive into a book.
It's my sincere hope that this book will ignite your passion for reading, help you become an avid reader, and a better version of yourself. Reading books has changed my life. I believe it could do the same for you. And now I'll read a few quotes from the book. How can we better employ our time than by reading books? A. Edward Newton Reading is essential for those who seek to rise above the ordinary. Jim Rohn Reading is a basic tool in the living of a good life. Mortimer Adler
Any book that helps a child to form a habit of reading, to make reading one of his deep and continuing needs, is good for him. Maya Angelou We read to know we're not alone. William Nicholson Reading, learning, is the ultimate meta-skill and can be traded for anything else. Naval Ravikant Reading helps you escape the confines of school and pursue your own education. Donald Miller My alma mater was books. Malcolm X
Anyone who can read can learn how to read deeply and thus live more fully. Norman Cousins Books are the training weights of the mind. Epictetus Whether I'm at the office, at home, or on the road, I always have a stack of books I'm looking forward to reading. Bill Gates Books give a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything. Plato The world belongs to those who read. Rick Holland
An hour spent reading is one stolen from paradise. Thomas Warren. And those are just a few quotes from the book. Like I said, there's 365 quotes.
Altogether, the book is 189 pages. It's a pretty short book and it's just very easy to read. Nothing too complex about it. And it's something you could pick up on any time. Just flip through basically any page and there you'll find a quote that will inspire you to read more books, remind you about the importance of reading books, and hopefully inspire you to spend more time reading and become more avid reader of books.
So if you're interested in getting the book, just go to the show notes below and you'll find a link that will take you to the Amazon page. I put a lot of time and effort into writing this book, so it would mean a lot to me if you got a copy and even left a review for it. And also, if you do get a copy, I'd love to hear what you think of it. If you have any feedback or tips to improve it. This is also my first time self-publishing a book, so I'm sure there's a lot of room for improvement. But I have to say, this was a hard but rewarding journey. I'm proud to have published this book, and hopefully it is the first of many books to come. And I just want to take a second to thank you guys so much for listening to the podcast.
