Europe is offering some insight into the manufacturing sector, with (among other indicators) German factory orders and French industrial production. Manufacturing is unlikely to be representative of the overall economy. Despite lurid tales of supply chains lying in shattered ruins around the world, manufacturing output has kept breaking records over the past couple of years. Now, however, the demand for goods is definitely moderating.
