On April 1st, 2019, Officer Jerome Turner was on the phone with his wife talking about their date night scheduled for that evening. Officer Turner didn't make his date with his wife. While on the phone he was summoned to answer what he thought was a routine call to break up a fight. Very quickly, he found himself in a gunfight for his life. When the fight was over, the assailant was dead and Officer Turner was on his way to the hospital, having been shot six times. One of the bullets went to his chest. His bulletproof vest saved his life.Law Enforcement is a calling. It has to be. Any of us would risk everything to save our family. Police Officers do it for people they don't even know. Today we talk about that calling, along with the craziness known as "defunding the police." Officer Turner is part of the movement to flip the script and stop the seemingly national vilification of the police.
