Bio

Debbie Marriott Harrison was born in Washington, DC and grew up in the DC area. Her parents are John Willard Marriott, Jr and Donna Rae Garff. She had 3 younger brothers. Debbie raised 5 children and when the youngest was a Junior in High School she went back to work at Marriott International as the leader of the Government Affairs Office as one of the lobbyists for the company. After her brother Stephen passed away in 2013, she took over his job as the Culture Officer and was in charge of the Business Councils. She retired from Marriott in 2019 but still serves on the Board of Directors for Marriott International. She is a trustee on the J Willard and Alice S Marriott Foundation, the Bill and Donna Marriott Foundation, Bridges from School to work and the Wilmer Eye institute board, associated with Johns Hopkins.

One of her passions is being an advocate for those suffering from mental health issues and she has been a member of several mental health nonprofits over the years including the National Institute of Mental Health.

She is married to Ron Harrison. They have served as Mission leaders in the Brussels Belgium Netherlands Mission from 2000-2003. She worked in the Young Women’s organization for over 33 years and is continuing to be the ward organist and temple prep teacher in her ward. Ron and Debbie have 5 adult children and 16 grandchildren.
